6 Family Travel Blogs To Read In 2016

Want to know what’s hot in the world of family travel blogging? Here are 6 blogs you’d be mad to miss out on in 2016…

1. Globalmouse Travels

This mum-of-three’s posts about her family’s globetrotting adventures saw Globalmouse Travels make it all the way to finalist stage at the 2015 MAD Blog Awards. And with a mix of insightful travel posts, destination guides and on-trend product round-ups (Star Wars-themed skiwear, anyone?), we reckon she could well be in the running to take first place next time round.

2. Wild & Grizzly

This blog oozes style right from the landing page, but it’s definitely not a case of style over substance. The photography is drop-dead gorgeous, yes, but the content is top-notch, too – expect everything from swanky UK hotel reviews to tales of luxury camping in the Dordogne. All with a four-year-old, of course.

3. Space In Your Case

It’s easy to see why this blog walked away with the BritMums Brilliance In Blogging award in 2015. It’s the joint effort of a group of four bloggers who seriously know their stuff when it comes to travel, and who rack up 7 kids (and counting) between them. As a result, SIYC is a hub of all things family travel – including, crucially, a category for child-free escapes.

4. Mini Travellers

Although Mini Travellers is jam-packed with posts about overseas travel, we love this blog for the huge amount of info about things to do with kids here in the UK. The UK Reviews Map is genius, and the whole site is designed so that it’s super easy to use. No wonder it took the trophy at the MAD Blog Awards for Best Family Travel blog.

5. Who’s The Mummy

Penned by tech expert, TOTS 100 founder and all-round blogging pro Sally Whittle, Who’s The Mummy is no newcomer to the blog scene. In fact, it was the site’s stellar travel content that won Sally a spot on First Choice’s Out of Office team back in 2014, and it’s why we’re still hooked on reading the blog now. We can’t wait to see what adventures she and daughter, Flea, get up to in 2016.

6. The Family Adventure Project

If ever a blog will inspire you to get out and do something active (or just make you feel incredibly lazy), this one will. From cycling to skiing, snowboarding to scavenger hunting, it’s packed with the activities and adrenaline-fuelled adventures of one family of four. Reading it makes us want to get out more. And that’s no bad thing.

A great list and some very familiar sites. I have a blog dedicated to family travel with young children; with extra emphasis on flying and travel tips based on my years as an international flight attendant. This combined with many ultra long haul flights with my two tiny tots and research led to the birth of the blog, as we simply couldn’t find all the information in one convenient place. Hopefully, 2017 will be the year it will be featured on your list too. :-)
