Introducing First Choice’s New TV Ad
After more than a year’s absence from the small screen, we’re back with a bang to tell the world about our big switch to All Inclusive…
If you like your ad breaks to leave you with a smile on your face and a spring in your step, tune into Who Wants to be a Christmas Millionaire on Monday from 8:30pm to 10:00pm. That’s when our brand new TV advert is being beamed into British living rooms for the first time, and trust us when we say it’s an attention-grabber.
The ad was filmed in the UK and at our Holiday Village in Tenerife, and will run from Monday 19th December until the end of February (if you can’t wait ‘til Monday, check out our sneak preview here.) It tells the story of a man who’s booked a First Choice All Inclusive holiday. He goes from home-to-plane-to-hotel in a dreamlike celebration amid much high-fiving and cheering from friends, fellow customers and First Choice staff. Playing in the background is Flo Rida’s top 10 hit, Good Feeling.
The whole ad is based around the feel-good factor you get when you go All Inclusive. It’s that peace of mind that everything’s included in the price – flights, transfers, accommodation, food and drink. Because our main man has paid upfront, he can indulge, safe in the knowledge he won’t be forking out every five minutes or constantly counting the pennies.
The £3million campaign is a major celebration of our decision to go All Inclusive across the board. From next summer, every one of our holidays will give you everything from flights to food, so you can have total control over your holiday spends.
And there are certain hotels that deserve a special mention, like our SplashWorld hotels. With these, we throw in unlimited waterpark access, too. And with our Holiday Villages, everything from ice-cream to assault courses is part of the deal. You pay one great price and peace of mind is yours for the taking.
It couldn’t come at a better time for UK holidaymakers. With financial forecasts still looking gloomy, it’s never been so important to keep a firm hand on your outgoings. And research shows going All Inclusive is a smart move. Take a look at these startling stats*…
- Nearly two thirds of people overspend on holidays that aren’t All Inclusive
- A typical family of 4 can save a staggering £511 a week on an All Inclusive holiday versus a B&B set-up
- Even small treats like ice-creams for a family of 4 can add around £65 to the overall cost of your trip. A couple of beers in the evening can add £60
- The average cost of an evening meal for a family of 4 is around £100 in the Canaries

Love this advert!
Initially I got the feeling of happiness about going on holiday but then quickly felt that everything you tried to portay was false.
It is VERY unlikely that I will be booking another holiday with First Choice if all you have to offer is All Inclusive. Not everyone wants to spend their entire holiday around the hotel/pool/beach/, eating and drinking to excess just to ensure that they get maximum value from their holiday. It might be OK for families but is not really appropriate for the over 50′s. Oh! and by the way, where will it cost £60 for a couple of beers? Let me know so that I can be sure to avoid it.
Hi Malcom, We do understand that the move to All Inclusive may not be suitable for everyone, which is why our sister company Thomson will continue to offer holidays on all board basis’. I hope you manage to find your perfect holiday, and if I can help further then just let me know. ^Amanda
Love this advert. All Inclusive is definitely the way to go. You can have peace of mind throughout your holiday knowing that you don’t have to budget your holiday money. If you don’t like the food or the drinks you have chosen you can get something else. We are in our fifties and would always opt for all inclusive if it’s available. It doesn’t really cost that much more either!
we love all inclusive,it great value for money, went with first choice this year and last and intend to book with them again.
The ad is brill, 12 of us whent to that Holliday village in august this year. And that is how I felt for the hole 2 weeks I was there.
Great Ad what is the music & who’s it by……………
Thanks for your comment, Dave. It’s Good Feeling by Flo Rida ^Amanda
Having enjoyed many holidays with First Choice I am sad to say that I wont be booking with you again if all you have to offer is ‘All Inclusive’.
You have got it wrong if you believe holidays are all about over indulgence. The temptation to eat and drink too much ‘just to get your moneys worth’ will spoil the holiday. Then when you get back home it will be pay back time to try and loose those unwanted pounds!
Hi Arthur, We do appreciate that All Inclusive may not be everyone’s cup of tea. Our sister brand Thomson will continue to offer holidays with every board basis, so hopefully you’ll be able to find a holiday to suit your needs. Any further questions, just let me know ^Amanda
we love the new add we were there in september and love love loved it and we were also there when they were filming the new video for the hotel itself do you know when that one will be shown ??? well done first choice we would love to go back next year !!!!!!!!!!
What Is The Name Of The Music In The Advert?
I loved going on holiday with you guys but it seems you just lost a customer. No way on this earth could I afford to go All inclusive. This is a naughty way of getting a selection of people with money and shutting out the ones who don’t earn as much. This is a bad move!!!!
Angela – The new videos for the Holiday Village in Tenerife will be ready to view in the spring, so keep your eyes peeled.
Emma – The music is Good Feeling by Flo Rida. A perfect tune to get you into the holiday spirit.
Lyn – As mentioned to Arthur & Malcolm, we completely understand that All Inclusive won’t suit everyone. Our sister company Thomson will still be offering all board basis on their holidays, giving you the opportunity to search for the ideal holiday to fit your needs.
^Amanda
Impressive, the advert is brilliant lively and bubbly makes you feel happy, well done, love the music too
i just got back from that hotel and it was the best and the most welcoming place i have ever been great food and the reps where great my friends little boy hurt him self and the doctor was there in about 5/ 6 mins faster than a 999 call hear in the uk great i will be there next november keep it up x
the advert has just been on sky sports so its on the tv now // ps 1 of the comments says all inc is expensive and its not it was well worth the money we spent . it cost us less than £1500 for 2 adults and 2 kids at the hotel on the advert
Amanda,
Your sister company Thomson may well be offering different board options, but presumably some hotels will only be offering all inclusive deals so this action IS limiting the holiday choice for those of us who want to leave the hotel for more than 2 hours. We will be faced with less choice of where to stay.
Lyn (Dec 20th) – don’t worry about not being able to afford it – some all inclusive deals I’ve seen are cheaper than “full board”. The worry is, you’ll get cheaper, mass produced and inferior food to keep costs down.
Hi Adrian,
The board basis options would depend on which hotel you wanted to stay at. If you have any further questions, you’re welcome to contact us on fcholidaycares@firstchoice.co.uk.
This advert is so cheesy! All you have done is portray a very fake image to anyone who has been on a first choice all inclusive holiday in the past. Last year a group of us stayed at the First Choice Holiday Village in Sarigerme, Turkey. The food was awful, the wine was like paint stripper, the staff were either rude or unproffessional and the thought of eating and drinking all you can for the duration of our stay was hardly worth high fiving about. You really need to stop looking through rose coloured glasses and get in the real world.
Hi Clare,
Thank you for sharing your feedback. I’m sorry to hear that your holiday last year wasn’t what you expected. We do know that customers can occasionally have problems whilst on holiday but the idea behind the advert was to generate hype and excitement around First Choice now being the home of All Inclusive. We do appreciate your feedback and your comments will be passed on to the team.

Bit of a Virgin rip off!!
Hi,
Love the ad! We’re (family of 4, children aged 2 &4) going to the Holiday Village Viva (Majorca) next June. It’s our first holiday abroad as a family so we are all very excited. The ad has a real ‘feel good’ factor about it. Nice one!
Cheers,
Martin
Nice advert, well put together, good thought gone into it and accompanying music is spot on, just what you need to get away from seasonal blues. Hope it does well for you.
All Inclusive holidays can have a stigma associated with them of poor value, low quality food and drink and being overpriced, and my first gut reaction to the ad was “First Choice are going for the bottom of the market”. I hope this has been researched, it’s not easy to go for profitable quality if you are seen as mass market cheap.
All inclusive doesn’t appeal to me but then I am fortunate enough to have a yacht in the med and a farmhouse in France.
I don’t have kids yet, when I do I really want them to learn more about different foods, cultures and peoples by being pushed out of the comfort zone of a hotel where everything is provided for on holiday. Doing this when I was young (on tight single parent budgets) means I can find you amazing places to eat out in the canaries for about €10 a head, and a get couple of beers in the Europe’s most exclusive and expensive bars for a hell of a lot less than £60!
Absolutely love the new advert! Its nice to see a lively one for a holiday company thats easy to remember.
Got to say though, I found it funny that the Thomson Airways sign on the plane was covered up with the First Choice logo
My husband, my 2 year old daughter and myself stayed at the hotel shown on the advert in November 2011 for 2 weeks and the hotel is exactly as it is on the advert, nothing fake about it! it was a gorgeous hotel and ticked all the boxes! Watching the advert has bought back a lot of fond memories! We will be visiting again!!
A fantastic advert and hits the spot. As a couple (not family) it is perfect for us.Why don’t some people stop whittering on…do you seriously not have enough going on in your lives but to tarnish a reputable company that are simply providing more than one option…you dont want all inclusive dont book it then, you are not being forced into it. Book with Thomson…if you understand?!
Just seen your new advert. Well done – all inclusive is the quickest way to detroy the economy of a resort short of war. After seven consecutive years using your company we will now use your competitor’s. Please don’t patronise us by pointing out that your “sister company” still does half-board etc; First Choice are now, most definately….the LAST choice.
hi what resort is the tv advert ? were going on our first family holiday abroad may 2012 me my husband and our 2 children 4 and 6. really hoping its as good experience as the advert gives off, were so excited we cant wait to go. love the music too very good …
Great advert, great initiative, a shining example of the marketing process – i feel an award in the offing
I also agree with the others, another customer lost here too I’m afraid! All inclusive is not for me! What happened to exploring and experiencing the country and area you are visiting, tasting local dishes and dinning in local restaurants, discoving new foods and supporting the tourist industries! I for one love being able to choose a different restaurant to eat in each night and choose the food I want to eat and I would never eat typical ‘British’ food! I understand it may be a cheaper option for families but in my opinion it is the boring option! It is nice to be able to stay at an all inclusive resort and have the option to choose what board!
I hate the All Inclusive concept, forcing hotels into a corner to offer this option. Clearly the temptation to go all inclusive is great and in resorts where it’s not safe to leave the grounds or if there is not much in the local area then it’s a great idea. My concern is with the large beach resorts such as Salou, Benidorm, Playa de las Americas which are known for their vibrant nightlife and bustling streets. All Inclusive will kill these resorts and First Choice’s decision to go 100% All Inclusive is extremely short sighted because in 10 years when these resorts become ghost towns you won’t be able to give the holidays away. I know your sister company Thomson still offer other options but you know only too well that the lure of All Inclusive is great because most people don’t actually care for the place they are visiting at all. A typical decision of a company run by shareholders and I will avoid all holidays offered by TUI as a result of this decision. No doubt the response would be that ‘we are responding to customer demand’ but to go 100% all inclusive indicates you are after a fast buck.
Becky B – The hotel in the ad is the Holiday Village Tenerife, a great choice with young children. You can view the hotel on our website here: http://www.firstchoice.co.uk/holidays/tenerife-holidays/playa-de-la-arena/holiday-village-tenerife/
Mark Davies – Thanks for your feedback. It’s true that All Inclusive may not suit everyone, however many of our customers already use our All Inclusive resorts and enjoy having everything included in their holiday cost. I will of course pass your feedback on, so thanks for sharing.
^Amanda
Amusing advert but I have to agree with the others,All inclusive is not for me so another customer lost here I’m afraid! What happened to exploring and experiencing the country you are visiting, tasting new dishes and foods, discovering and trying different restaurants and supporting the country’s economy!? I for one love to choose a different restaurant to dine in each night and eating local and traditional dishes! I am aware that in some countries it isn’t safe to wander outside of a resort complex and I understand that for families all inclusive might be a cheaper option but in my opinion it is the boring option! Previously it was nice that you could stay at an all inclusive complex and have the option to choose your board basis! I just hope that Thomson fill the void!
Loved the advert when I saw it and now realise it is the hotel we are going to in a weeeks time, can’t wait
What is the name of the actor playing the Dad? I worked with him years ago! Neil something I think.
Why don’t you credit the actors in the making of video? You credit/name check all the creatives!!!!
Whats the name of the chap in the advert? He looks so familiar and its bugging me and the boyfriend not knowing who he is and where we know him from lol
Please put me out of my misery and tell me the actors name in this advert, I know I’ve seen him in something else, ta.
Brilliant advert and the kids want to go because they love it ! In response to some of the negative comments there is always saga holidays.
Having a family and keeping the peace all inclusive is good providing the quality is there so good move from the holland clan.
Make sure you reward your marketing team and agency for this advert Mr FIrstChoice.
To put those asking out of their misery, the actor in the advert is Niall Ashdown.
^Amanda
Thank you for finally saying who the actor is! I recognise him from the tv series Barking. Could you also say who the wife is in the advert please? Really bugging me.
I loathe this advert for one reason, I can’t think of anything worse than an all inclusive holiday.
Love this advert! Best I’ve seen so far! First Choice are always my first choice when booking a holiday
its not the “all inclusive” that will kill the local economy, its the idiot bankers & politicians.First Choice realise that a lot more families are on a limited budget. it will be throwing the resorts a lifeline until better times.
I would like to know wear to get that shirt from that he is wearing in this add .
Does anyone know .
Love the advert. Def got the feel good feeling especially at such a dreary time of year. Going back to this hotel for the 3rd year in a row!
Love the advert, especially since we realised that it shows the hotel we have booked for our holiday later this year! this willbe our first All Inclusive holiday and we are looking forward to it. Our last holiday was with Thomson, also in Tenerife. Our little boy didn’t want to leave the Thomson Family Resort very often, so he’ll never want to leave the Holiday Village! Cant’ wait:-)
My boyfriend and i have enjoyed several holidays with you in the last couple of years but afraid to say we won’t be travelling with you again if you are going to offer only all inclusive holidays – fine if thats your choice but no choice is just that – no choice, no holiday!
Adverts not a problem either way but don’t think i’ll be using you again if you only have all inclusive to offer
the only problem with all inclusive is that some hotels can serve up meals that are not much better than school dinners and treat you like cattle because they have already been paid and so it doesnt matter to them wether u eat it or not ,
This seems like a fantastic business move for TUI, however I can’t help feel sorry for the local restaurant owners and local supermarkets who depend on tourists’ money to survive. Its hardly fair to attract tourists to a destination and then discourage them from supporting the host community.
You can’t please all of the people all of the time. I think that all inclusive is great (and I am over 50) but there again lots of over 50′s love cruises, personally I could not think of a worse holiday. It’s all down to choice, and First Choice does what it says and its sister company Thomson offers alternatives. So all the people who have moaned about All Inclusive you have a choice.
)) Happy Holidays everyone!!!!!!
)))
I took my 7 kids on an all in to lanzarote xmas and new year, ages ranging from 17 down to 6mths, all in was abs fantastic and i would def recommend and will be going again this year. We spent quality time in and out of the hotel, hired a 9 seater and toured the island but also lounged by the pool, beach, shopped and basically had the best time, all with the knowledge that we could go back and have a bite to eat and few drinks and not worry about added cost there, love this add, everytime we watch it we sigh with heavy hearts at what we’re missing in this dismal country, cant wait to get back there, and to all the haters, theres always butlins or a tent in your back garden! happy holidays x
This advert really gets me excited for our next holiday village holiday this year. it will be our third and they are a fantastic concept. This advert does the product justice! Yeah, not or everyone but that is why Thomson are still offering all other board options. Dont kmock it till you try it guys….
Hey,
What version of “Good Feeling” is that, I have been looking everywhere cause I know that is not the Etta James version.
Hi Hunter,
It’s Flo Rida’s version which is available on itunes. ^Rhiannon
No it’s not the Flo Rida on iTunes has the Etta James vocals, he version you guys used has different vocals, I know I may sound like a geek here lol but you guys are like my last hope for finding this version.
We booked the Holiday Village Tenerife not knowing it was used in the video. We are looking forward to going later this year. No worries no extra payments. I’m sold First Choice – Only choice for me.
my worry with this concept of all inclusive only, is the resorts themselves. Firstchoice had/have thousands of hotels, big and small on their books. my worry is, first choice have given these hotels an ultimatum, build an outside bar and a couple of makeshift buffet bars to become all inclusive or stay with the lower priced guests using cheaper b&b rates.
I would worry about how long the hotel has been all inlusive as the real all inclusive have been built exactly for this purpose. A makeshift all inclusive would become very boring after a few days.
Perhaps Amanda could respond to my worries?
Hi, I’m sorry to hear of your concerns. The move to All Inclusive was not a decision that was taken lightly. The First Choice Team spent a lot of time carrying out research and taking many things into consideration. We are committed to supporting local communities and we’ve been working with experts to maximise economic impact of All Inclusive hotels. We work alongside the Travel Foundation to ensure our impact on resorts is a positive one. You can find out more about sustainable tourism on the Travel Foundations website – http://www.thetravelfoundation.org.uk.
Do First Choice employ a company to deal with advertising and promotion? Or do they do it within their own company?
I’m doing a btech in travel and tourism and need to know.
Thanks!
Hi Shannon, We employ other companies who do it for us. However, we do involve our on staff in the making of some of our adverts.

I have to say that is the most SPINNED statement I ever eread! The facts on the ground show that Menorca’s resorts are being ruined by AI – A place that was unique and so special for it’s atmosphere.
Hi Liam, I’m sorry you feel that way. I’ll pass your feedback over to the relevant team for you.
