Revealed – May’s Top 5
It’s that time again, when we reveal the most popular destinations according to last month’s web bookers. Here, we bring you the top 5 places, plus our pick of excursions you can do with us while you’re there…
Johnny Depp eat your heart out. This famous show, which has been wowing holidaymakers for nearly 30 years now, certainly gives Hollywood a run for its money. Singers, actors and gymnasts put on a swashbuckling performance that takes in everything from trampolining to fire-eating. They’re almost upstaged by the 12-metre high galleon that takes centrestage – you’ll see a few of the performers leaping off it. The action isn’t just onstage, either. You’ll have performers yo-ho-hoing past you in the aisles, and there’ll be some panto-style audience interaction as well.
Don’t worry, you don’t have to climb all the way up this mountain range. A bus will whizz you to the giddy heights of 7,000 feet. Here, you can watch snow-capped Mount Teide change colour as the sun starts to set – think soft pinks and purples. To make the experience extra-special, you’ll be watching it all with a glass of Cava in your hand, and we’ll lay on a 3-course meal, too. And, as darkness descends, there’ll be a professional guide on hand to point out the best constellations, Stargazing Live-style.
Sharm El Sheikh – Cairo By Air
Granted, we all visit Sharm El Sheikh for its world-class diving and endless sandy beaches. But you can’t visit Egypt without having a look round Cairo. On this excursion, you’ll jet off to the ancient capital for a tour of the top sites. A guide will show you round places like the great Pyramids of Giza – and the famous Sphinx who guards them – plus the Egyptian Museum, home to the world’s biggest collection of Egyptian artefacts. And if you fancy seeing it all in style, our VIP package gives you a chauffeured car in Cairo and your own private guide.
Think the Blue Lagoon in Olu Deniz is good-looking down on terra firma? Wait ‘til you see it from the sky. Even the journey there will get your heart racing. A bus will whisk you up to Babadag Mountain’s 1,700-metre peak, where you’ll be taking your jump. Once you’re there, you’ll zip yourself into your flying suit, and one of our pilots will show you the ropes. Then, it’ll be time for the pair of you to do your run-up and take that leap into the sky. You’ll be cruising on warm air currents for about half-an-hour, gazing down on the white beaches and the Blue Lagoon below.
Gran Canaria – Yellow Submarine
We all live in a yellow submarine, a yellow submarine… Yep, you’ve heard the Beatles song – now you can try it for real. A bus will take you to Puerto Mogan village on the southwest of the island, where you’ll climb into a state-of-the-art bright yellow submarine. Inside, you’ll find comfy seats, supersized portholes and your own personal TV monitor, so you’ll get a fish-eye view of everything going on beneath the waves. Expect to see tunas and jacks going about their business, along with cloud-like shoals of sardines. A guide will be on hand to point out the best sights, including a shipwreck teeming with fish, too.
