Currency: Dominican Republic Peso

A commission-free foreign exchange service is available at most First Choice Travel Shops and Holiday Hypermarkets.

Passports and Visas

Passport Information: You will require a full 10-year British passport valid for at least 6 months after your return to the UK.

Visa Information: Tourist cards (approx £8) are required for entry and should be completed before travel via the Dominican Republic Embassy. Alternatively, cards can be purchased on arrival for US$10 per person in cash.

Departure Tax: For departures before 01 Nov 2008 the compulsory overseas departure tax (approx. £11 per person) will be added at the time of booking (including children 2 years and over). For departures on or after 01 Nov 2008 this charge of US$20 (approx.£11) will be payable locally by customers in local currency.
