Help for Heroes

How many holidays is First Choice giving to our nation’s Armed Forces?

First Choice is giving away up to £150,000 worth of free holidays to bereaved families and the families of service men and women injured in conflict. For every 20 holidays booked through the campaign running in our shops, online or booking line, one holiday will be provided to families and soldiers.

Why is First Choice getting involved?

First Choice decided to launch this campaign as a way to give something back to the troops that work so courageously in many hostile environments. Being able to give these service men and women some precious holiday time with their loved ones is a way for us to show our support and ongoing gratitude for all they have done. First Choice knows that taking a holiday can help everyone feel happier and no-one deserves a break more than our troops.

Through Holidays for Heroes the public can also show their support and help us give away the £150,000 worth of free holidays to those that need it most.

Why should I get involved?

By taking part in Holidays for Heroes the public will be giving holidays to those that deserve it most. It is our way of saying thank you.

Customers booking through this campaign will be entered into a prize draw to win a holiday for 2 adults and 2 children to the Holiday Village in Cyprus.

How can I get involved?

First Choice is supporting this through its retail shops, website and has a dedicated booking line.

When booking online, customers must book via the dedicated website, www.firstchoice.co.uk/heroes

How long with the campaign run for?

Holidays for Heroes will run from January 23rd 2010 until February 20th 2010, or until holidays to the value of £150,000.00 have been donated, whichever is sooner.

Who will qualify for the holidays?

The holidays will be available to service men and women who have suffered an injury or families who have suffered bereavement as a result of conflict. Each holiday is for a family of four, however First Choice will make allowances outside of this if a family of five is chosen, provided they are all members of the immediate family or at the discretion of First Choice.

Who will be choosing the bereaved families or injured service men and women?

The Ministry of Defence will be selecting the families. First Choice will work with the MoD to gather together names and details of all those who would like to be considered for one of the free holidays. Once all names have been received there will be a lottery style ballot to choose those who receive the free holiday, this will ensure the process is completely fair. The MoD will help First Choice with this process and also ensure there is a fair split of those receiving holidays between all three of the forces.

What sort of holiday will the troops be receiving?

Those service men and women chosen through this campaign will be jetting off to one of First Choice’s flagship Holiday Village resorts. All holidays are seven nights and the families will be staying on an all-inclusive basis.

First Choice Holiday Villages are a concept developed from customer feedback and incorporate everything our customers say would make their ideal holiday. This includes lots of entertainment and activities combined with great quality accommodation and hotel facilities.
