Venosa Beach Resort & Spa

This new hotel teams chic interiors with a great pool scene, 5 restaurants, and panoramic sea views.

This beachfront hotel has a top location – it backs on to a shingle beach, and is a short hop on the bus from the centre of Altinkum and the ancient village of Didim.

Things here centre on the pool scene. There’s a huge pool plus a set of waterslides, all in a great spot overlooking the sea.

best ever

stayed at hotel between 12oct and 26thoct your party was 5 adults and 2 children aged 3 and 1 .we arrived late at night and as soon as we got there about 23.30pm the front desk staff told us to get something to eat and drink in the restraunt before we checked in which was a nice touch. The hotel is beautiful the staff were so friendly and always made you feel welcome. The animation staff were friendly and very good at there job and big thank you to Mario (excuse me)who was excellent with your children and an asset to this hotel. The hotel is set in a nice location and if you wanted to go to town it cost about 60 pence on the bus which run every 15 mins . The food was amazing plenty of choice and always hot we had a fuzzy eater in our party but always managed to find something to eat.. The spa is the best ive been too and fat boy is the best. Thank you Venosa for the best holiday we had in years see you next yearMore

holiday of a lifetime

Having visited many areas of the med. too numerous to mention and having been to Turkey many times we tried the Altinkum for a change. What a change it was. They still have a bit to do but all the railings are being changed to matching polished metal, on homes as well as offices and bars etc. There are well cared for gardens along the roads in Didim. Footpaths are being brought up to standard and derelict buildings are being removed. Regular visitors to this part of the world will know what I mean. The hotel itself was lovely. Everywhere there were beautiful level marble walkways which was important to us as we are not young and one of our party is a slightly disabled. The gardens were lovely and very well laid out with lots of flowers even after the hot Turkish summer. The whole resort is very well designed and laid out. The resteraunt is much the same as other 4/5 rated hotels but the six of us never once failed to find a superb meal as there is such a variety although we did tend to raid the vegetarian area for green vegies. There were a few moaners which made us wonder what these people eat at home. Appart from pork products there was an amazing variety of lamb, beef, veal, offal. many types of fish, stroganoffs and stews, the salad bar was fabulous and lot of cakes and puddings. All of the staff were polite and helpful, but tended to struggle a bit with their English so we had lots of laughs trying our hopeless Turkish. Three waiters deserve a special mention here as they were so kind and helpful as well as lots of fun. They are Onur Alptehn, Haken Gelit and our lovely Ahmet Ataatarg. ( appologies for any misspelling.) 10/10. We didn't see many shows but what we saw was superb. The dancing and light show was excelant as was the Turkish show in the lobby bar. The pools were among the cleanest and safest we've used, not a broken tile or drain cover to be seen. Lots of sun beds with a choice of full sun or shade. remember that the sun moves and will go behind the hotel by mid afternoon in late October shading some of the pools areas. The rooms are comfortable and clean, with clean towels every day but be prepared to find them on your bed pretending to be swans. The views from the balconies are stunning. You even get a sea view walking along the corridors which are at the rear of the hotel. Its like being on an island. We had such a fabulous time that we will definately return to this hotel next year. Having said all this why only four stars you ask. Well we had a few issues. On arrival at reception we were given the usual form to fill in but they were issued one at a time. I don't know how long the ones at the back waited. The good news is we went staight into the bar to refresh ourselves and sometime later went to our rooms to find our baggage installed. There is a lack of drawer space. One of our group waited three days for a faulty kettle to be replaced. Then the students arrived for a convention. It was no longer a holiday resort but a business forum, everywhere was at full capacity, not a table to be had. I realise that hotels have to make a profit this is no comfort to the customers who are there for the real reason. IT.S A HOLIDAY RESORT. Fortunately they were only there for three days then it was back to bliss for us.More

colin b,

Stayed at the Venosa from the 9th of October for 11 days.Everything about this hotel is excellent.Rooms especially are kept pristine,we had clean towels every day as you would expect of a 5 star hotel.Water in the fridge every day and tea and coffee replaced. After we had been there for a few days,we went back to our room late afternoon and the lady that looked after our room had made swans with the towels and flower petals they looked beautiful, another day we got hearts.Have read some comments saying that the staff are not very friendly, totally disagree. If you are friendly with them they are most certainly friendly with you,it is after all a two way street. From day one we were looked after in the restaurant by a young lady called Sevcan, she made us very welcome when we arrived after a long day,and always looked after us.You don,t always get the same waiter but they are all very good. The setting of the hotel is very good, all lovely sea views from the balconies.I would however ask for a high floor especially if you are over the nightclub. We were on the 4th floor and that was fine. Easy to get into Altinkum, just get on a dolbus. They stop at the hotel every quarter of an hour. I recommend you pay a visit to the Kamaci restaurant between 2nd and 3rd beach near The Garden of Sun.Wonderful family, food and beautiful views of the marina. Will be back.More

We have just come back from this hotel after a weeks holiday. My children and I had not been on holiday for over 8 yrs and this holiday was supposed to chill us out after a long 8 years of stress. I found the hotel staff rude and unhappy. The brochure description was wrong in that it was NOT within walking distance of the main resort. The electricity card kept on not working, the loo seat was falling off, I had to complain about the nightclub music being too loud at 2 am in the morning and then the poolside music the next day on more than one occassion. The hotel just argued that the volume was at a suitable strength. All tho it was the last week of the season most of the hotel staff looked as tho they didn't want to be there. Not to mention the rudeness of the bar staff who when confronted with a top shelf chargeable spirit that was NOT original the Archers tasted like parafin and the Southern Comfort smelt and tasted like their local Peach Snapps they slammed the glass down in front of my not very well Mother and handled it very abruptly. The whole weeks experience felt like a total waste of money and has not left me and my children or family with a very happy memory at all. Would we go again NO. Would we recommend this hotel to anyone NO. I must add that I used to run a pub in the UK and hold a personal licence in the UK and know what spirits taste and smell like and their chargeable drinks were definately NOT what was meant to be in the bottle. I have also drunk Archers Peach Snapps for about 30 years and couldn't even drink one shot it was so disgusting only for the hotel to be very argumentative and will be taking the matter further.More

We stayed at the Venosa as a family of 7 from 11th September to 25th September 2014. The hotel is out of this world and the rooms are beautifully done we were on 6th floor rooms 1624 and 1630A and B. The animation staff were brilliant especially bibo and katy really sorry you won't be there next year. All the bar staff were brill even doing ben 10 cocktails for the kids. Food was great always hot and the snack bar was the best we had ever been to food always hot. What more can we say it was a brilliant holiday and five of us (3 adults and 1child) will be returning next year. So if you are reading this Venosa The storries will be returning next year on 10th September 2015 for 2 weeks and we would love the same rooms we had this year 1630 a and b pleaseMore
