Venosa Beach Resort & Spa

This new hotel teams chic interiors with a great pool scene, 5 restaurants, and panoramic sea views.

This beachfront hotel has a top location – it backs on to a shingle beach, and is a short hop on the bus from the centre of Altinkum and the ancient village of Didim.

Things here centre on the pool scene. There’s a huge pool plus a set of waterslides, all in a great spot overlooking the sea.

Defo be back next year

We had a great holiday can't fault anything great value for money. Brilliant place for families and couples, very clean, friendly staff and one person to keep an eye out for is billy in the spa top bloke very helpful and friendly if you ever need something ask for him. See you next year :) More

Lovely clean hotel, shame about some of the morons that stay there as well

We have stayed at the Venosa Beach and Spa hotel for 11 nights. Can safely say that it has been a lovely holiday. The hotel is nice but probably wouldn't class it as a 5 star but an excellent 4 star. All of the staff have been polite, welcoming and friendly. Cleaners do a fantastic job on the room. Everything spotless. Staff working by the pool are also very hardworking and efficient. The restaurant has loads of food to choose from, loads of variety of dishes to suit all taste buds. However.... What annoyed us a lot where some of the morons you get dining in the restaurant. We noticed they were rude to staff for no reason (staff were efficient and polite. Cleaned plates very quickly and drinks always served!) and you get a lot of morons wasting food and being greedy piling up plates! Also a pre warn if you want to get a sun lounger by the pool... You get old couples who think it's a good idea to have 4 sunbeds for themselves and not actually use them during the day. Which means that you have to put your towels on a sun bed early doors..! Billy and fat boy (spa boys) where fantastic. Billy in particular as he gave us lots of advice about the spa treatments and also told us about the markets. Do not do a evening market like we did.. Waste of time! We are now currently dining in the Turkish restaurant in the resort. All staff in the restaurant again, fantastic, friendly and efficient! Food is fantastic and I would recommend it to all. The view in the restaurant is lovely too. Beautiful night time view of the sea! Hotel, food, staff, pool all fantastic shame about some the morons that also stay here :)More

Amazing Hotel & Staff -

Stayed at Venosa for 2 weeks, only been back for a few days and if I could I would be straight back on a plane tomorrow! The hotel is very clean, very friendly and helpful staff, always polite and made a fuss of my son. Food was lovely (with the exception of the a la carte - sorry I just didnt like it but im very fussy with food) The location isnt brilliant but only 10 mins on a bus into Altinkum! The Animation Team are AMAZING - Mario (awesome manager), Sarah, Dido, Richo, DJ, Kuber, Katya - my favourite by far my beautiful Bibo <3 (there are others but i cant remember their names!!) they all work so hard to keep you entertained and involve you in the games and and the dancing, my son was on the stage with them most nights - it was the highlight of his holiday (and the sweets in reception) They always made time to talk to you throughout the day and night and nothing was too much trouble. I cant praise them enough, love them all, thank you for making our holiday one to remember <3 <3 <3 Sue xxxxxxxxxxxxMore

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly!

First off don't let the title fool you. I've rated it 5 stars as we had a great holiday and I feel with a few tweaks it could go from being great to almost perfect. This was our 4th All Inc holiday with the others being Ledra Beach in Paphos, Anastasia Beach in Protaras and Stella Palace in Analipsi. There were 6 of us on this holiday, 3 adults and 3 kids aged 9,9 and 6. We stayed 28th Aug until 11th Sept. The Good 1. The hotel itself is absolutely stunning and one of the few places we've been where the reality matches all the photos online and in the brochure. You can tell it's only a few years old as everything is new and pristine still however I get the impression this would be the case even years from now as wherever you look there is someone cleaning and making sure the visual standard is being maintained. 2. The rooms are nice and modern with a lovely bathroom and plenty of storage space. You get a free safe and a mini bar restocked daily with water. Also there is a flat screen TV with a selection of channels for all nationalities. There is also a decent sized balcony with a glass front for making the most of the amazing views over the grounds and the bay. The sunrise and sunset are fantastic. 3. The food choice is immense and there really is something for everyone. Breakfast is your standard hotel choices with both hot and cold options although no bacon but if thats a deal breaker then it's a bit poor really. Lovely cooked to order omelettes and pancakes, waffles etc. Lunch can either be taken in the main restaurant again or there is a snack bar near the pools. The restaurant has similar types of food to dinner and the snack bar has nuggets, chips, pizza etc. They also have proper turkish chicken kebab on most days which was nice. Dinner had a massive choice every night with some themed evenings which were nice. I'm quite a fussy eater but I had something different nearly every night for 14 days. 4. The restaurant itself was really nice with a choice of either eating inside or out on the terrace next to the pool. 5. The pools were really good with plenty of space as the main pool was massive and never felt overcrowded. There is also a pool with the slides and a small kids pool. Huge amount of sunbeds so never a rush to get your towel out, we just popped down on the way to breakfast which could be anywhere from 07.30 to 10.30 each morning. If you wanted a set spot then you would probably have to be up earlier but if you're not too fussy then there's loads to go round. We settled for spot next to the slide pool each day as it caught the sun all day and was handy for watching the kids. 6. The staff work extremely long hours and in the most part are still really pleasant and friendly especially if you're good with them. Yes there's a few exceptions but for a hotel with the volume of staff they have they did very well. 7. Yet another mention for Billy and Fatboy the spa sales reps, they are a credit to the hotel. They will notice you are new and go out of their way to introduce themselves and go through all the various options available but no hard sell whatsoever. We plumped for the welcome package consisting of a turkish bath, body scrub, massage and face mask. We paid about £20 each which was well worth it and started the holiday off well plus it helped with the tan. 8. The mexican a la carte was really nice and the waiter service definately made a nice change. You get all your starters brought out one after another and then get a choice of main course. All were really nice but the kids struggled a bit to eat much. Ali Riza makes sure your drinks are topped up and everything is ok, he was fab. 9. Really good drinks selection and i loved the local beer, Efes. There's a cocktail of the day and you can get all the local spirits as well. Be careful though as the measures are a tad generous to say the least at times. 10. Altinkum is quite nice and the dolmus will take you wherever you want for 2TL. It stops right outside the hotel and will pick up anywhere for your return journey, just flag it down. The Bad (minor niggles) 1. The hotel i would say is about 25% british and 25% turkish with the rest being eastern european and russian. As others have mentioned the majority have no manners whatsoever and are some of the most miserable people I have ever seen at a hotel. They will consistently push in, try to shove you out of the way and generally speak to the staff like rubbish. 2. The service at dinner was sporadic at best. Most nights you got water when you sat down (although there were a few when we didn't) however there were only 2 nights when we were offered a drink which for a 5 star hotel really isn't acceptable. We don't expect serving all night but 1 when we sit down is the minimum we would expect. I don't actually blame the staff as they were rushed off their feet most nights but maybe have drinks waiters and staff clearing, don't expect them to do both. 3. The lifts were a bit hit n miss at times although not as bad as some on here have made out. 4. The beds in the room were rock hard and really uncomfortable with myself and my wife not having a full nights sleep between us all holiday unfortunately. Not the end of the world but it catches up on you by the end of the holiday. 5. The key card system for the room was a bit of a joke. We were given 2 keys on arrival and everything was ok for a few days then I went back to the room 1 night and no power when I put the key in the slot. After trying the other key when my wife got back neither would work so we phoned reception and the lad that came up said that even though you are given 2 keys only 1 will ever work the electric, the other is for entry only. Fair enough i suppose but if given 2 keys surely they should be work fully. It just led to too much messing around if 1 of us wanted to go to the room, trying to work out who had which key etc. 6. The evening entertainment was really quite bad. The kids loved the kids disco but the shows after, barring the shrek show, were terrible and we inevitably left after about 5 minutes. The 2 guys with the guitars were ok in the pool bar and we could also listen to them from our balcony which was nice. The Ugly (major niggles) 1. The kids club was not up to scratch at all. The actual set up is impressive but when we sent the kids for an hour on the 1st day to give it a try we weren't impressed. When we went to pick them up they were all just sat on the swings outside looking miserable. The girls that were running it were sat inside chatting and not watching them and the outside gates were open and not locked. Apparently when they had arrived they had tried to put them in front of a video suitable for really young children and when the kids didn't want to watch it they were left to make their own entertainment. We thought this might be a 1 off and as we had booked the spa around them going we sent them again the next day with the same result. Not good enough for a hotel of this quality. 2. We'd heard that the saturday market in Didim was great for bargains so off we went and possibly experienced one of the worst couple of hours possible. Every stall you walk past you are pretty much grabbed and tried to be forced to buy various items. At times I was surrounded by up to 3 men blocking my way, grabbing my wrist and generally being intimidated. When you did buy anything if you didn't have the correct money after bartering they were reluctant to give you your change. At one point one of the guys working one of the stalls put his hand up my wife's skirt and the owner of the stall just laughed when she complained. Yes we got some bargains but it wasn't worth the hassle. You can get just the same gear in Altinkum for a bit more without all the hassle. Overall we had a fantastic holiday and would definately think about going back some time unless the price goes up significantly. It was my 2nd favourite after Stella Palace as i preferred a few things about there over here. That being said this was far better value for money. Well done Venosa!More

Perfect first holiday!

Me and my girlfriend who are both 19 had our first holiday here and it was amazing. There wasn't one thing we could fault and would recommend it to any couples looking to go here! The weather was extremely hot ranging from 35-40 degrees each day.

Hotel: very clean and fresh always see people cleaning up and making it look nice. Our room was on the second floor, I would advise to go higher as our view was nice but not as nice as other rooms higher up. Also there is a nightclub within the hotel and if you're a light sleeper you may be able to hear it on lower floors.

Staff: Everyone we met were really pleasant and polite, be aware in the restaurant some of the staff can hardly speak english or only a little so just don't ask them too many questions haha. If you're interested in a Turkish bath Fatboy is the guy who runs it and he dosen’t bother you and politely asks if you're interested or not!

Pool: Absolutely huge, There is music playing all day around the pool and it isn't too loud, you can sit as close or as far away from the speakers to determine how loud the music is. The Animation Team organise really fun pool games of which all ages were getting involved and other activities in the pool during the day which we really enjoyed. We had no trouble getting a sunbed and sat in the same spot everyday.

Beach: The beach isn't pebbles as I've seen people put, its sand and quieter than the main pool with some really stunning views overlooking the sea and mountains. Venosa has its own watersports section which I would highly recommend as we went on the Jet Skis and Ozzy is lovely not bothering you too much and giving you good deals!

Food: It's buffet style and we had no trouble getting food, obviously there was queues for popular foods which is inevitable. Apart from that there was different things each day and even special foods on themed days, the snack bar came in really handy for lunch and the pancake hut served pancakes and waffles which were really nice too.

Animation Team: By far some of the craziest people we've met, from the first day at the hotel we was being pulled up to join in some games of which we didn't mind and they really try to involve everyone. Bebo, Catty, DJ and Mario and the others were just so funny and would talk to us everyday making jokes and making sure we were having fun. Even if you don't get involved in activities / games they still go round talking to everyone, lovely people.

Entertainment: Different each night, wasn't amazing to be honest but they still make lots of effort and still made it funny. There was also a guy singing with a guitar at the pool bar of a night which is more relaxed and he's very talented. If you wanted to venture out instead, theres a bus which runs outside the hotel taking you into Altinkum Town which has shops, bars with entertainment and more.

Other: We had a photoshoot done and the photos came out amazing, photographer made you comfortable and at ease. You get the photos in a really nice photo album and bag and well worth the money! The Wi-Fi is terrible and hardly works in the rooms, the only place it works is in the lobby so if you need internet go there!

Overall, I would recommend this hotel to anyone, families, couples of any age. We had a perfect holiday and would like to thank all the team at Venosa for making it that way!More
