At the Yellow Alvor Garden, the clue’s in the name – it’s a peaceful place surrounded by good-looking gardens.
Relaxation is the theme at the Yellow Alvor Garden. That goes for the pool area, the laid-back entertainment scene, and the big gardens.
The fishing village of Alvor is less than a 20-minute walk away – or less, if you jump on the shuttle bus to the beach.

Fabulous week away
Slightly put off by the reviews on here after booking. But don't know how people can complain, excellent value for money. The rooms were cleaned every day, not sure why people comment on the size, personally I go away to be outside, not sat in a hotel room. All of the staff were brilliant and very friendly. The food was a typical buffet, lots of choice. Will definatly be going again More
Yellow Alvor Gardens
Extremely poor choice of food at every meal time except breakfast. However this being said, breakfast certainly wasn't 4* rated food. Limited outdoor seating for evening entertainment and day time. Bars did not serve Malibu on All Inclusove and was told I'd have to pay extra. Rooms were ok, cleaned each day if requested. Beds are extremely uncomfortable and pillows poor quality. and the whole property is in a serious need of a revamp. Pools were clean and always beds available. 20 mins walk from the town or €4 in a taxi. Charged 50 cent to call a taxi from the reception though...beach is a long walk away although shuttle is provided daily but limited seats available. Certainly not worthy of the 3* plus rating given by Jet2, and definitely not the 4* independent rating it has. More
Vacations at Alvor
The hotel is not a 4 stars hotel. The main complaint is about the cleaning and services. It as a good external swimming pool but the hotel is not prepared to to have many people with a good service level. More
Nice, clean hotel. Decent location, overall a nice holiday
The hotel is clean and well maintained as far as I could see. The staff are friendly, the animation team always put the effort in to make you laugh and were doing activities during the day and evening also. The pool is large and has a nice little area for those who are too chicken to jump right in! The outside bar is right near the pool area, with a fair few cocktails available, coffee/espresso and (very nice) beer, local beer being superbock. The food in the mornings were the same every morning, the usual breakfast that most know of. The lunches were often fish and/or steak or chicken. The dinners were also similar. As a couple we ate out 3 of the nights out of 7. There was always something to eat, but there's not huge amounts of choice for the food. That and some days the food was okay but not exactly tasty (not what you would expect from a 4 star anyway) but as I say it wasn't horrible food and there was always something to eat and enjoy. The restaurants and bars 15 minutes walk away were very nice if you find yourself not enjoying the food and they were reasonably priced. The rooms were decently sized with all your normal things. Only thing I'd say about our room was that it was overlooking a car park, not that we cared because we came to get sun, food and alcohol not sit in the room, and plus the area around the hotel isn't exactly breathtaking mountains and lakes etc. Most of the rooms overlook the pool and gardens. Overall the hotel was nice and the holiday was great. Because of the location we would come back to this hotel.More
After reading the reviews on here, I felt I had to write my own review which doesn't involve moaning. Rooms are basic, however, I don't come abroad to sit in a room all day so struggle to understand why this is an issue for some people? Personally I like to be outdoors on holiday in the sunshine!!!! Spent a fortnight here with my two kids who are quite fussy eaters and yet they always managed to find something to eat EVERY single night as did I and I found the food lovely. Don't know what people expect from this either..... a 100 different variety buffet to cater for every single person on this earths palate??? Hot, tasty and a variety and the salad was just gorgeous. Pool and outdoor areas very pretty and kept well. All staff very friendly and always had a smile on their face and all work really hard for what I would imagine isn't a great wage. Entertainment was largely aimed at the Portuguese and French, however this is because they are the biggest visitors and so that decision of entertainment is quite right!!!! British people are not superior despite what many of us think. All in all a great holiday, Alvor is just stunning and unspoilt and we would gladly return. Some people just need to get a life and enjoy themselves rather than focusing on meaningless, small stuff. If you want 5 star perfection then book (and pay for) 5 star perfection.More
