This cliff-top hotel keeps the sea views coming, whether you’re on your private balcony or floating in the infinity pool.
‘Vistamar’ means sea view, and this place has them in spades. Every single room looks out across the Atlantic Ocean, as do the two swimming pools and the outside dining terrace.
There’s a courtesy bus that’ll take you to the beach and back in a couple of minutes. Or, if you fancy a walk, it’ll take about 15 minutes on foot.

Another Excellent holiday
First week in march spent revisited dot 5 or 6 th visit. Friendliness of all staff, they remember us now and Enrique in the bar remembers your drinks. Although a bit tired now Hotel is spotlessly clean . We were on 5 th floor with sea view. Food varied and very good, plenty of selection at all mealtimes. All inclusive incudes, wine , spirits , cocktails, soft drinks, tea, coffee etc , we take a small travel kettle for the room as non available in room. Pools are clean with brilliant views, we usually use the higher level pool as quieter. Free bus to beach is another bonus and there is a walkway along the sea to Puerto Rico. Entertainment bit hit and miss in evenings But the team work very hard all day but not pushy. The hotel is due a refurb this summer and we are really looking forwards to seeing the outcome . Wonderful Holiday.More
Riu Vistamar gran canaria
Firstly the hotel will close this month for renovation. However despite the tiredness of some of the hotel (thus the refit) i found its location, food and staff to be excellent. Fantastic views and the helpfulness of the staff was 1st class. Will be even better after the refit. Thank you to all the staff.More
We come back... again and again
Have been at Riu Vistamar at least 10 times. Which means we are mainly very satisfied. This is a good place. Always looking forward to a holiday week here. Let me mention five prominent qualities: 1) Fantastic location, best in Gran Canaria in my opinion. 2) Attractive pool area. 3) Very professional and friendly staff - in reception, in restaurant, in room service. 4) Good food, creative cuisine, 5) The staff at childrens club (yes, we bring our grandchild) does an excellent job. And then two objections: 1) Drunk people in next room ruined our last visit. In spite of complaints from several guests, staff did nothing, as far as we could see. But this is a one time experience. 2) Rooms need refurbishment, they are a bit worn. Rumors says this will happen this summer. - We really hope this great all inclusive hotel will soon be back to previous standards. We have had wonderful vacations here.More
first visit to paradise
we were quite worried about our 1st visit here as we were told it was closing the following week for renovations. Well all i can say is it was the best place and the best hotel we have ever stayed in. from check in to check out everything and every member of staff we encountered were and was superb. Maybe the room did need an overhaul but it was spotless and the view from the private balcony was to die for. The food was top class and very creatively served loads of different choices and the service from the staff second to none. The pools and pool bar area were amazing and always plenty of sunbeds staff even remember what you are drinking!!. The hotel is situated high up in amadores but provides a free bus up and down to the beach and taxis are quick and cheap. We had a couple of days out to puerto rico and boat trip to the pretty village of mogan which is a must do imo. This hotel is definitely on our list to re visit it was a dream holiday for us and we would like to thank the hotel staff for all the hard work they do for us holidaymakersMore
Last minute break
Have been coming here for last 15+ years. As a couple and with family. Highly recommend for families although you do get a bit tired of the food after a while. Not that's it's not ok just very samey - having said that there is something for everyone - except if you prefer spicy food then I'd recommend a trip out to local restaurants to ring the changes. THe staff are 5* very helpful without being intrusive. Plenty of entertainment and activities if you get bored. Have to say though you will NEVER get drunk on the all inclusive booze. Very watered down and I craved a really good Rioja so we went to a very good restaurant we know. Rooms as others have said are tired, which is why I believe they are closing soon to refurb and upgrade. Will be nice to visit after the changes. But everywhere was clean. All in all would recommend especially for families as the all inclusive takes the strain of the continual 'can I have can I have'. Was a tad disappointed as last time we went the upper pool was for adults and the lower one for children and families which afforded a bit of peace for couples. Not the case this time and it was shocking the towels put out to reserve beds at stupid o clock (even though there were signs up) one couple must've got up in the night to put their towels on and didn't actually turn up to lay on the beds til lunchtime every day ...!!!More
