Hotel Diana Palace

This central hotel is a real favourite with guests, thanks to its great pool scene and nearby beach.

This compact hotel has just 130 rooms, giving it a warm, intimate feel. Outside there’s a big pool in among the gardens. And on the dining front, there’s a big buffet restaurant and barbecue nights.

The hotel’s on one of Argassi’s main streets, so there are plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. It’s a 5-minute stroll from the beach, while 5 minutes in the car will get you to the capital, Zante Town.

This is not 4 Star!!

Arrived early hours of the morning, hotel reception was pleasant we received a nice welcome together with a cold drink. We booked a family room (2 bedrooms) poolside view. We were given a single room with four single beds squashed in! I complained and by midday we were moved. Not to a pool view room as we'd paid for but to a noisy over the bar roadside room. Air conditioning is part of the purchased package - don't be fooled it's only free for certain times of the day, so we had to purchase more hours for full service. There isn't a bellboy and lugging cases around from one room to another we decided to stay put. We'd also requested a late checkout, months before we went, we didn't get one and were instead offered another room in another hotel, so we had to lug our cases along the road to the next hotel which cost an extra £100 for us to stay overnight until 3.30am... Bit of micky take as we had to book and pay for the night at the start of the holiday when we didn't arrive until after 6am. The room - very basic and in need of redecor, it was very tired, with wires sticking out of walls, paintwork hanging off the window, a hand held shower, the list goes on, oh and the air con unit broke! The staff however were lovely, all apart from one stroppy rude man in the restaurant, not sure if he's a manager as he didn't clear plates but he was so very rude and obnoxious!! Horrid individual!! The hotel is designed to cater for large numbers, it's loud and very noisy... Our room allocation was not the only one they'd got wrong - it seems first come first served! The hotel we stayed in for the last night was the Katerina Palace - much better pools with AVAILABLE beds! Much nicer hotel altogether! We couldn't get a sunbed the whole week we stayed here so ended up going out of resort, totally wasted money going all inclusive! I understand the recession has hit Greece hard but you get the impression that cost cuts are first and foremost here - not customer experience. That said the evening entertainment was good on the few nights we stayed in resort. I would not recommend the Diana Palace and I wouldn't go back - it is at best a very tired 3 star.. Max! More

A very friendly and clean hotel

We only stayed there for a week and had a lovely time it was clean and the food was great. staff were very pleasent . The draw back was if you were in the small pool you did not know about the morning entertainment you had to go to the bar area not everybody went up there in the day.The night entertainment was not very good. But I would recomend this hotel and i would visit it again. You can always make your own entertainment. We went 12th of august 2014.S McCarrollMore

sue m,

Wonderful Holiday!

We have recently returned from our holiday and bring back some wonderful memories not only of Argassi but of the Diana Palace. This hotel is very clean not only in our room, which was cleaned every day, but in the communal areas as well. On our arrival we were checked in quite quickly by the receptionists who were very friendly and given a welcome drink of non alcoholic cocktail which was delicious! After unpacking were made our way to the restaurant for lunch and were met by Dennis. He was lovely and showed us where everything was. The meals are buffet style and there was always a really good selection of foods including traditional Greek cuisine. Everything I tried was delicious, I did not have a single bad meal, hence by the time we returned I am now on a diet! At breakfast there is usually cold meats, cheese, salad, cereal, toast, a selection foods for a full English, fruit and yogurt, pastries and biscuits. At lunch it is usually varied salads and dips such as tzatsiki, fish, pies, cold meats and cheese, pasta, various desserts and ice creams. Snacks are served in the afternoon again it's usually salad, dips, sandwiches, pie, chicken, jacket potato with baked beans and occasionally something sweet. The bread and butter pudding is a MUST! Dinner time again you have a choice of salads, burgers, pizza, fish fingers, chips (which were yummy), beef, turkey, pork, various vegetables, stuffed vine leaves, pasta, bolognese, moussaka, various cakes and desserts and ice creams the list is endless. The meat is cooked to perfection, really tender. Each night is themed as well such as Greek night, Asian night and the food and sometimes the entertainment correspond. The staff at the hotel are so friendly, even the cleaning staff which from past experience at other hotels can be a little surly. Not here! Everyone has a smile for you and a kind word. Loved Stathis who worked at the snack bar during the day. He could remember our names (there were 4 of us) and he could even remember what drink my daughter had and the flavour ice cream my son had. He is amazing. Also Ileas who works the reception bar in the evening. Always a cheerful hello and a chat from him. Daytime entertainment included French boules, aqua aerobics, table tennis, hide & seek and games for the kids. In the evening there was Greek dancing on Greek night (in the restaurant) games for the adults, a comedy show, and a local (?) band that came in once a week. They tended to play stuff from the 60s and 70s. Just over the road and down a path was a small beach but definitely seek out Central Beach which is bigger. The sea was crystal clear and warm :o) Argassi town is lovely. It has plenty of shops and bars, also 2 mini golf. The best one is up the road from Diana Palace and it has a cocktail bar! It's 2 courses of 18 holes each. You play your 1st round then you go back later to play your 2nd course and get a 10% discount. A trip to St Nicks beach is well worth it. you can get a courtesy bus there which picks you up at Legends Bar and brings you back. It's a beautiful sandy beach and although you tend to get the club 18 - 30 parties there they don't cause any bother. Infact some of them missed their coach back to their hotel and had to come back on ours and they were really nice. We also took a trip on the road train into Zante town. It cost around 18 euros for the 4 of us. Zante town is nice! We had lunch there in a lovely cafe overlooking the harbour so that we could watch the ferries come and go. We had a fabulous holiday and will definitely return to the Diana Palace one day.More

A Great Hotel

The hotel is clean the food is excellent but it is the employees that makes your stay extra special. They are friendly, helpful and always smilling. The only shame about the hotel is the night entertainment. Mondays and Wednesdays are very good as it is live music and dancing but all other nights it is just not as good as it could be. An example would be the 15 minutes of children's disco before they are banned from the stage. I must add this did not spoil our holiday in anyway as we just made alternative plans which basically involved a lot of vodka and Marco specials. We are seriously considering going back next year. Football even on his day off.and his Michael Jackson show not to be missed .the only thing I would ask the hotel to do is have a coffee machine at the far pool and international drinks after alinclusive finishes .Dave from ManchesterMore
