Hotel Diana Palace

This central hotel is a real favourite with guests, thanks to its great pool scene and nearby beach.

This compact hotel has just 130 rooms, giving it a warm, intimate feel. Outside there’s a big pool in among the gardens. And on the dining front, there’s a big buffet restaurant and barbecue nights.

The hotel’s on one of Argassi’s main streets, so there are plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. It’s a 5-minute stroll from the beach, while 5 minutes in the car will get you to the capital, Zante Town.

First time we have visited Zante and certainly won't be the last. From the minute we set foot in the Diana Palace we felt spoilt. The staff ilias, staithis, clio and mia we're fantastic and made you feel welcome nothing was too much trouble. The rooms are basic but very clean, the food never disappointed there was such a variety and the restaurant and presentation was immaculate. My daughter has a birthday when we were there and they made her a cake and all sang to her. She didn't want to come home. We will definitely be returning soon hopefully. More

Part four* part three*

On arrival at the hotel there is a simple check in procedure and a cold drink. (most welcome). A short brief on the hotel and taken to your room. We had booked a standard double. Our allocation was on the first floor, overlooking the pool area. Bathroom, sink and bath with shower over the bath. Towels and some toiletries. No hand hold either on the wall or on the bath (not ideal if you are a little unsteady). Bedroom, furniture functional but a bit dated. Bed (double but very firm). Hairdrier, fridge (very welcome at height of summer) and tv (why a TV i have no idea ONE channel only. Would be better having tea/coffee making facilities instead. Safe (€20 Euro per week) AirCon (a must) either on at certain times or €20 (per week) for 24/7. No brainer during hot periods. Small balcony overlooking pool (our room faced sun after 11am so was to hot to use). During evening it overlooked walkway to other blocks and to the lounge so hardly a relaxing point. Main Pool and sun lounge area, very crowded. and noisy (to many lilos, different ball games and activities competing for same space.) No pool towels provided (either take your own or purchase cheap ones there. No life guard. On at least one occasion the safety equipement used for "games" around the pool Smaller childrens pool (didnt use that but looked very full) Signs on parasols about NOT reserving sunbeds before 8am otherwise towels will be removed. Neither enforced nor policed. Therefore if you want a semi decent spot set your alarm for 7am. Food and dining. Food cafeteria self service style, food very good. Dining room has obviously recently been refurbished and looks quite sharp. Dress code (relaxed) Unfortunately some client insist "relaxed" means NO. Must mention Kyriakos (apologies for spelling) firmly (but diplomatically) pointed out swimming attire best reserved for the pool (especially evening meal). Bars. Pool bar, ice cold beer and soft drinks. (great service) Lounge bar same from 7pm till 11pm (after that bar still open but have to pay towards drinks. Lounge is airconditioned BUT again clients can be bothered to close door after themselves so area can get a tad warm. Either signs of self closing doors would help (might also help with environment and overall energy use.) Good wheelchair access and lifts to floors. Not sure if some rooms have disability facilities (you would need to check) Cleanliness very good and staff keep on top of the communal areas and rooms Agrassi is a small but very busy town/village on the southern end of Zakynthos town. The hotel itself does not overlook the sea and to get down to the sea you must cross a busy road. Adjacent "supermarkets" are on th opposite side so kids cannot go themselves. There are no beaches in the immediate vicinity, hence the pool usage. Plenty of of eating choices and a few bars Premier rooms overlook the main pool. Talking to some guests who had them, appeared very happy with the facilities of those rooms. Observations. The hotel is ideally suited for family groups either large or small. (A couple of groups as many as 15 members whilst we were there). It is not good if you are hoping for a quite relaxing holiday especially as a mature couple. (OK for some younger couples if wanting Lagana night life but want to be away from the area during the day). 4 star The food, staff and service 3 star some of the rooms (ours certainly), pool, entertainment.More

5th time at the Diana Palace

The fact that we returned for a fifth time speaks for itself. The exceptional friendliness of the staff is the main reason for our return. We meet many returning guests who go back for the same reason. The hotel offers it all, excellent food, spotless rooms, good entertainment. We are going back again next year.More

Judith B,

Great hotel and friendly staff

I decided to go to zante for a girls week away and we found the Diana palace hotel, the staff were friendly and made us feel very welcome, there was a great range of drinks and they even made up new different drinks on request which was included in the all inclusive. The food was lovely and they had a great variety for all meals, The hotel was very clean and tidy and the rooms were cleaned daily with new towels, we went out most nights and slept in and the maids would come back at our convenience. When asking for places to go and things to do the staff were very friendly and we're happy to help and give advice, there's regular bus rides to the beach which isn't far and a great day out. I loved this holiday and although we stayed here for a clubbing holiday it was still very quiet and family orientated. I will definitely be returning for a family holiday More

abigail d,

Never a 3* plus hotel, very basic

After reading reviews on trip advisor we were expecting good things with this hotel, unfortunately we were sadly disappointed. The positives of this hotel is the staff, especially the receptionists. They were really helpful and friendly. When we arrived my parents were given a dark, small room that backed onto a wall. She mentioned to the receptionists that she wasn't happy and was told they were full. She then complained to the manager who told her that they would sort something. She was give another room. After speaking to other guests, they too had the same situation. Our room was in the main building, very small and very dated. Looking at other rooms they are need a revamp. Air con was only allowed on specific times unless you paid. If you required towels, these were leftover towels from previous guests. You had to pay for a safe. There was apparently no room available for us to keep on our day of departure to shower and change for our group, which we were willing to pay for. With two small children this wasn't good enough, normally all good hotels have at least a room guests can use. My mother complained again that this wasn't good enough and yet again they maraculously found us a room at a charge of 30 euros. The food is tasty, but kind of the same thing everyday. Bar shuts at 11pm. The gym is basic. There are two pools. The larger one was rammed with sun beds that you could hardly get through to the restaurant and the smaller childrens pool had a nicer atmosphere, but smelt of sewers. If we got this holiday at a cheap price then you wouldn't expect too much, but it wasn't a cheap holiday. If some money was spent on this hotel then I think maybe it could be nice.More
