The Arinara Bang Tao Beach Resort has a king-sized beach on its doorstep. And it’s only a 10-minute drive from the Laguna Canal Village shopping centre.
This place sits on a big, wide band of beach – one of the longest in Phuket. It’s dotted with a small amount of seafood joints and a watersports hut offering surfing lessons and paddleboards.
Traditional Thai décor lends the hotel its good looks, with dark-wood furniture decking out everything from the deluxe swim-up rooms to the restaurants.

What a great hotel!!
Arinara is very good and very clean hotel. Rooms are spacious and clean. You should book a room with private pool. It is so great! Pools are huge and never full. Breakfast is good, everything you can ask for. Hotel is quiet so if you are looking for a party, hotel isnt for you. There are many restaurants nearby, at the beach and the other side. Soneo club boys were great and we had so much fun with them. Best regards from team Finlandð. More
This is my review of our holiday in Thailand staying at the Arinara in January 2017. The Arinara is a good clean hotel that is right on the beach. Rooms are spacious and kept very clean. We found the beds comfortable and the linen changed regularly. There is one thing that may upset you â there is a Mosque very close to the hotel that at 5 â 5.30am has someone wailing out a message for about two minutes. Suffice to say by then you are awake!! I have been to many hotels in my life but never been anywhere where it is imperative to get your sunlounger towels down by 6.00am. This is not the British (for a change) but Swedish, Russians to name a couple. The signs are there â so the hotel needs to implement NO saving of sunloungers. Its even more galling to see many of those saved not used until after 11.00am!! I donât like getting up in the dark to do this but if its the only way, then needs must. I must say that our Thomson rep Tom was THE BEST!! He was cheerful, chatty and even came and saw us after our two trips to see if everything was ok. Top marks to him. The food in general was pretty good â however it was let down by breakfast. Eggs were cooked âen massâ and as they had been inside a heated container for some time, they were like rubber. Eggs should be cooked on request to the customers requirements (like other hotels do). There is bacon on offer â however like the eggs, this is cooked until there is a large mountain of the stuff and is done until its crispy . I found this virtually inedible as it had been cooked for so long. Things to be aware of. As you walk to the beach you will pass a sign saying LUX. This is NOT part of Arinara hotel and if you want food, drink or a beach lounger, it has to be paid for!! I know some people were caught out not knowing this. The poolside bar. Again be aware that there is two snack bars joined together. One is for all inclusive guests and the other is for paying guests. Just make sure if you are all inclusive you are at the left side of the bar area. If in doubt, ask. Local shops are worth the very short walk out of the hotel. Here you can find many bargains with clothes, shoes etc. Massages are on offer pretty much every third shop â however they are an absolute bargain and my wife and daughter said it was one of the best massages theyâd had. The three Suneo reps were on site to do activities throughout the day and evenings. We joined in on a game on the beach called Khubb â good fun!! They were a good laugh! The beach is a lovely relaxing walk with numerous vendors selling things but they donât bother you â in fact if you want something you go ask them. Trips. We did two organised trips via Thomson. One was a day trip to go river rafting, waterfall and rubber treeâs,Turtle sanctuary, Tsunami memorial and the icing on the cake, Elephants!! The Elephants were amazing and one of the best things weâve done! Feeding them and walking them to the river where you get to bathe and scrub them. AWESOME! Second trip was two days to the islands of Phi Phi, Krabbi, James bond Island, and âthe beachâ which was a film with Leonardo Di Caprio in, plus loads more. This is an absolute BARGAIN for what you get and our host Andy on the boat was âthe bestâ. You get to stay in a hotel overnight which is in the rainforest and very enjoyable and relaxing.More
A meeting with the towelmafia at Arinara, Bang Tao Beach.
We had a very quick and nice check-in. 5 minutes, and we were in the room, we even got a free upgrade. Very nice. At the frontdesk we saw a poster saying "No reservation of sunbeds with towels". YES, finally a hotel that deals with crazy people reserving sunbeds with towels before the sun is rising. How wrong could we be...... We woke at 0715 the first morning because our son had fever. At 0722 I looked out of the door in our room 4210. 100% of the chairs I could see, was occupied by lonely towels, waiting for their owners to wake up and join them. At 0900 95% of the towels was still waiting for the owners. EXTREMELY irritating if you travel with small kids, and would like to play with them in the pool, without getting up at 6 in the morning, to join the towelmafia. Of the 4 hotels we stayed in on this holiday, Arinara had the slowest wifi. The pool was also a little dirty. I guess also that loud music in the evening from Catch beachclub could be a problem for those who need to sleep in total silence. The breakfast was also a little special, with the eggstation outdoors, and the rest indoors. The location is the best in Bang Tao. Directly on the beach, and the frontdesk is almost in the middle of the village, with food, bars, ATM, pharmacy, 7/11/minimarkets 2 minutes away. The best (and cheapest) food in Bang Tao we had at a restaurant called Pooh and Friends. A little off the main street, but ask the tuktukdrivers to take you there, it cost 150-200 THB. Afterall, we had a a nice stay at Arinara, and we might get back next year. We got the best price by sending a mail to the hotel and book directly. Much cheaper than Booking.com, hotels.com, agoda.com.More
We stayed here in February with our 9 year old son and were very impressed with the hotel. Very clean and staff all polite and friendly. The Suneo Club lads were fantastic and really made our son's holiday special. They were a real credit to the hotel. The pools were large and never felt crowded. Location was fantastic being able to walk straight onto a gorgeous sandy beach. We were all inclusive and found this to be comprehensive, with very little not being included in our package. We were able to get a wide range of soft and alcoholic drinks including a good choice of cocktails. Food was very nice with a good variety always on offer. As other reviewers state there are parts of the hotel that are a bit dated but this didn't impact on our enjoyment of this lovely hotel. We would highly recommend a stay here!More
We arrived before 9am and, understandably, our room wasn't ready. We were asked if we had eaten breakfast and when I said no, the reply was "That's too bad." (I would like to note that during our two weeks at the hotel we saw other travelers who clearly had arrived early like us, they had their bags with them, eating at the buffet breakfast. I don't know if they had to pay, but that option was not offered to us.) We used the restrooms in the lobby to change into our swimsuits and we stored our suitcases at the lobby. We basically just wandered about aimlessly because all the sunbeds at the pool were reserved while guests ate their breakfast and we had no towels to use at the beach. Luckily, our room was ready for us around 11. However, the sofa was not made up as a bed yet, despite the fact that I had emailed directly with the hotel a couple of times before travelling (we had two teenagers who didn't want to share a bed). We had to ask 3 times before the bed was finally made up. The hotel advertises free Wifi, but the connection is not very good. Poolside, it can cut out. In our room, Wifi only worked on the half of the room that was closest to the balcony. (This was more of an issue for our teenagers than us.) We had horrible uncomfortable plastic chairs on our balcony that were changed to nice wicker ones two days before we checked out. At first, I was disappointed to find that our room was on the backside of the property with no view. However, it was a very quiet room and we were not at all disturbed by noise in the corridors that other travelers have mentioned. The only thing we heard were the roosters in someone's backyard;). Our room was spacious and cleaned thoroughly everyday. The breakfast buffet was extensive and delicious. We rented the beach sunbeds twice during our stay - they cost 500baht each, but then you get to eat/drink that amount at the Lux restaurant. The pools are large and don't feel crowded.More
