The Arinara Bang Tao Beach Resort has a king-sized beach on its doorstep. And it’s only a 10-minute drive from the Laguna Canal Village shopping centre.
This place sits on a big, wide band of beach – one of the longest in Phuket. It’s dotted with a small amount of seafood joints and a watersports hut offering surfing lessons and paddleboards.
Traditional Thai décor lends the hotel its good looks, with dark-wood furniture decking out everything from the deluxe swim-up rooms to the restaurants.

3 outdoor pools
This long and winding pool is split into sections. One has a slide, while another is home to a swim-up bar with an arrangement of in-pool bar stools. The surrounding terrace has a selection of sunbeds and parasols, too.
This place is perched on a patio just a few steps from the sand. It serves up drinks and snacks all day and into the evening, so it's the ideal spot for a break from the sun, or sipping a cocktail under the stars.
Dip pool bar*
The pool bar serves up a selection of drinks and light bites throughout the day.

Great family holiday
Our second stay at arinara did not disappoint - we are a family of 4 and stayed in a pool access (away from the main pool so very private). The two beds were perfect. Lots of choice of restaurants on the beach including more bars etc since our visit last year so if cocktail in your hand and feet in the sand is your thing, this is your place! Lots of activities for teens )JetSki, paddle board, beach swimming etc - fab location but still quite low key. Our main bed was very firm! Service was good - almost no other Aussies/Brits - most visitors were European. Highly recommend for an enjoyable family holiday!! More
Average Family Resort
This hotel is aimed a families with children definitely not a hotel for couples. I would only rate the hotel as 3 star at best and not worth the very expensive cost for staying there at Christmas. The all inclusive food was poor to average with most of the food luke warm and very repetitive, we booked the al a carte restaurant one evening to find we could not choose from the Al a Carte menu , we were given the option of 5 pre set meals. - we didn't not bother and went to one of the restaurant's on the main street. If you ordered a glass of wine it was served in a small glass where as if you were not all inclusive you were given a proper wine glass. This might be a small thing but made you feel as if you were second class to those not on all inclusive. Trying to attract the waiters attention to ask for a second glass was nigh on impossible. Whilst the staff were generally pleasant they were oblivious to people trying to catch their attention. The wifi only tended to work in the main reception area and there is no comfortable seating areas to sit in the evening. Plus points - The bedrooms were very large but basic furnishings although i will say our room was kept spotlessly clean by the cleaners. If you have children the pool is very good and kept very clean although all the sunbeds are all gone by 7 in the morning. The Lux bar at the end of the hotel complex was very annoying with loud repetitive club music all day and evening. If you wanted a sunbed on the beach you had to buy a Drink or Food package with the Lux. The resort is fairly expensive to eat out in compared to other resorts in Thailand although we ate out for 8 of the 14 nights even though we were on the all inclusive!!. Overall a very disappointing holiday I would not recommend this resort or hotelMore
Arinara Beach Resort - two days on the Sun Lounges by the beach
We (17 family members) were staying at Himaphan Villa nearby, so on our 3rd last day of our holiday we decided to hire some sun lounges on the beach at Arinara and taste the food and drinks. The bar and food was owned by a couple and one of their employees rented us the sun lounges. The bar service was not very fast, in fact, very slow, and we complained to the owner more than once. There were only two men serving on the Bar, so I guess they were short staffed. The food also did take time to serve so we were not extremely impressed with that either, although the food was good, and well presented.More

Family resort for those that are budget conscious
I've been to many resorts in Phuket and this one was the worst. I like 5 star luxury resorts like Anantara, Grand Hyatt and that level but was forced to dropped a star level due to prices during Christmas being rediculous and we had a large group. Arinara is a four star resort so if one goes with that expectation then you will nit be disappointed. The rooms are large but somewhat dated. Most come with two large beds though the second one in the room with the tv was hard as a rock. The bathrooms were newly renovated though. The good - large rooms, large beds, every room has a balcony, lots of choice at breakfast (omellettes were the fave, fruits were plentiful, but juices were diluted), pool access rooms were worth the extra as long as you do not get ones facing the main pool as those were noisy and everyone looks into your room). If getting pool access room ask for ones facing away from main pool as they feel like much more private pools. The pools that are attached to room are not joined up with the main pool which is a good thing. Resort is for families, it is not a romantic place for couples. Lots of steps so not a good place for elderly either. Pool slide is fun and a 40 cm deep, enclosed pool for the kiddies was nice touch. Lots of sunbeds around pool but hotel does not enforce a no reserve rule. During my stay getting a sunbed meant throwing peoples reserved towels and personal stuff to the side. Risk of confrontation but the rules say no reserving. Right on the beach. Full of Swedes, so if blondes and vikings are your thing, then you are in valhalla. What is it with tattoos these days as evetyone seems to be tatted up? The cleaning staff were hard working and cleaned all rooms well, but only the areas that are seen. We found rice and sand, in our beds when we pulled off the sheets. They didnot vacuum the mattresses before changing the sheets. The bad - lousy wifi (best access is on third floor room, for second floor no access). I had four rooms , one on each of the first, second and third floors. Not much of view from rooms, even the 3rd foor was blocked by external wall. Most people hung out in lobby for wifi. No aircon as lobby was open to outside. Not much choice for dinners and lunches - so we went out (recommend Sugarcane and Riverside restaurants 150Thb tuktuk ride away. Misleading room coupons - Thb300 can only be used at dinners, which was not explained to us properly. We were told good for drinks and food. Small print said only at dinner and only if you presented it before bill came. We had one dinner there but could not retrospectively apply coupon. Experience left us with bad taste as mgnt refused to budge on their policy. Full of Russians, so if scowls and loud , drunken behaviour piss you off, dont stay here. We complained several times as out neighbours decided to blast music at night. Lack of sound insulation meant you can hear walkway mivement as well as thise on balconies. Vegetarians will not find anything to eat here that is not contaminated with meat - eg same frying pan used to cook all omellettes, so u cannot even order a meatless omellette as the pan is used to cook ham. Same for the big fryer used to cook plain eggs is also used to cook bacon. Leisure staff were ok as they were all vikings so spoke English. The local staff did not speak very well and hard to communicate. Table tennis room, but allrackets were destroyed and no easy booking system to use. Same for the pool table. The grounds could have been better used but was very ugly. Somemight like this place because they perceive a lower price for value but not me. I will gladly pay more to stay in a nicer place next time. This place felt like a Club Med knockoff. Hint - book you transport from place next door, and bargain. Do not use the hotel to do this. Eg minivan taxi to airport is 1000 but can get for 800. Minibus to Phuket town was lso advertised for 1000 but can get discount to 800. Minibus to Laguna area will be 500. Tuktuk will ask for 200 to Surin Beach but can get for 150. No Americans so have not ruined it for others who do not believe in tipping as a right. No China tour groups during my stay, but lots of Russians.More
Nice but bit dated
if you don't have kids, forget about this hotel. You need to have Kids to enjoy it. PLUS: It is perfect for family with small and bigger kids: there are 4 pools with a massive slider. The pools are very big. There is a bar on the pool if you want to have a drink while swimming. if you book a room at the ground floor you have your Own pool.. the entertainers were very nice and kept the kids engaged during the day. It is walking distance from the beach so if you are bored of the pool you can jump on the sea. there are a lot of nice cheap restaurants on the beach, so you don't need to go far to get the local flavour. there are very nice massage places and small shops/restaurants near the hotel as well as a travel agent where to book your escurtions MINUS: the room are a bit dated ( we didn't mind at all) but other people we met they did . The wifi doesn't work beyond the reception. this could be good and bad, but we wanted to share out TH experience with our friend and this wasn't possible. sun beds are gone around 7.30 - not sure why but you need to wake up very early to secure 2/3 sun-beds . sun-beds on the beach are not free. Again not sure why but i felt as hotel guests we should have it. SUGGESTION: they could have offered a more intense kids club ( club med stile) as the entertainers were so good and the kids loved them we wouldn't have mind to spend a bit more and let them enjoy as well. Overall very positive feedback. We will def come back!!More
