With an infinity pool, top-class restaurants and cut-above rooms, this place has the edge when it comes to luxury. It’s in a standout beachfront setting, too.
As you’d expect from the name, this place is pulled up against a long – almost a kilometre – stretch of sugary sand. It’s got a village feel, with 5 restaurants and 3 pools fanning out from an Italian-style piazza.
Rooms are design-mag stylish, and include king-size beds, huge flatscreen TVs and iPod docks as standard. They all come with Indian Ocean views, too.

Honeymoon trip to Long Beach
We visited Long Beach in the first week of November 2016 for our honeymoon. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a ceremonial gong for new hotel guests, along with a refreshing drink and wet towels, which was a nice touch after a long haul journey. We were then shown to our room. Our room was ready for us, prepared with fresh flowers, a welcome note, spa offer, t-shirt, shawl, and edible treats welcoming us to Long beach for our honeymoon. We were in room 103 – which is a short walk to the reception and main piazza with all the restaurants. The view from Room 103 is beautiful and within a few strides you can find yourself at a beautiful beach alcove area, and not much further you find yourself at the beach itself. Room – The room itself is spacious and clean, and housekeeping are around twice per day without request. As with most Mauritius hotels, the rooms are more simple rather than luxurious. Many items within the mini bar are free and clearly labelled and are restocked daily. Our night time porter left a surprise for us in our room every night, from different towel art to flowers, which was a highlight of our trip. Hotel grounds – very clean and excellently maintained. The beach and general grounds and greenery are beautiful. The pools are nice, though the infinity pool for adults was quite cold the whole 10 nights we were there. The only downside is guests reserve their loungers by leaving their belongings on them and disappear for hours. Another issue we had, though we never reported it was that our room had a left over extra mattress left outside it and it was not removed the whole 10 nights we were there. The spa was very secluded and a nice tranquil spot away from the main resort. Food – There is a good variety of restaurants of different cuisines. My personal favourite was Chopstix (Chinese) and my partner enjoyed Sarpori (Italian) for lunch. Hasu (Japanese) was also good though we were on a limited time only set meal for AI guests, and we did purchase items at a supplement. The all inclusive options at the resort are very good. Everything is clearly labelled if included in the AI. You just give your room number. There were not many mocktails included in the AI, so this could be improved. Staff – Staff are friendly, though I would not say they offer they same standard of service or have the same warmth and friendliness as those at other 5* hotels. Also, poolside service could be better with staff more frequently and actively going round asking for orders. Bar orders could be a bit slow at times, and you had to get their attention. Our night porter – Deevesh – was excellent and attentive. Every night he left us a surprise in our room when he knew we would be having dinner with different towel art – ranging from a swan, turtle, elephant, to an extremely elaborate crocodile! He also arranged flower petals and flower baths to putting flower petals on the ceiling fan so it would shower down. Overall we would recommend Long Beach and with the AI option it is good value.More

A real weekend of relaxation
Incredible place with a real beach and the feeling you are alone even if the hotel was almost complete. Japonaise restaurant is the best in Mauritius. And if you have time visit the Sea Spa... Alone in a little mangrove you can forget everything.More
Wonderful Hotel with wonderful Staff
We visited Long Beach in May 2017, from arrival to departure we had the most fabulous time. Drinks and cold towels on arrival were the perfect beginning as the humidity was high and it was a long flight (transfer was only an hour and a half but felt like an eternity after a night flight) We arrived around 1000, our checkin was not until 1400 so we were planning on using the showers in reception area and heading to the pool. However we were fortunate enough to be upgraded to a junior suite, perhaps they took pity on us as we were travelling with a 4 year old. Either way, it was greatly received and we were in our new upgraded room in no time. We were situated in a sea view suite 219, perfect location as a couple minutes walk to main restaurant and pool/s.The bathroom in the main bedroom is glass so if you're a new couple, probably not the best seeing your new partner on the throne. (its not completely transparent) We were all inclusive so we used the minibar in the room as needed. Some items are not part of the mini bar so, "follow the stars" - If you follow the same principle throughout your stay you will not have any surprises when you checkout (Star = Included) We didn't dine at Hasu (Japanese restaurant.) Our take on restaurants: Sapori - Worth a visit as it was nice to be waited on. We did have a supplement on a scallop dish but wasn't worth it. Effectively £10 for one scallop!) Plenty to choose from without supplement. Chopsticks - Fantastic. Ordered loads and it was awesome. We did also treat ourselves to Lobster, (amazing) a supplement charge! But worth it. Tides - Spent every lunchtime here. Superb service and dining. Le Marche - Glorious, menu change everyday, if you happen to not be a fan of a certain food type, ask for something else. On Indian night, we managed a pizza and spaghetti carbonara. The staff are beyond fantastic and although you want to mention as many as you can, some stick out. Deesha, Kumar and Jevin. An absolute credit to the hotel. The most friendly, welcoming people you can imagine. We did tip, although we were all inclusive (sometimes giving a few pounds goes a long way). Do venture out the hotel if your first time in Mauritius. However don't use the taxi's - hire a car!More
A week in paradise
Stayed at Long Beach as a couple for a week on 2nd July and absolutely loved this hotel! Upon arrival, we received a drink and a wet towel which I thought was really nice, we were then shown to our room. The room was amazing, we had the best view- I would definitely recommend the sea view room, it was incredible. The room was spacious, modern and very nicely decorated. We were really impressed that some of the items in the mini bar were free and they were restocked daily. The service was faultless in the hotel, all staff were extremely friendly and helpful especially the Chinese restaurant manager and the bar staff around the pool & at night. House keeping were also very good, they changed our towels & made our bed twice everyday! We stayed all inclusive and after reading some reviews on here, I was skeptical on how much would be included, however we didn't find any problems with this, there is so much choice and there are only a few cocktails & ice-creams that aren't included. We were really impressed with the food, the chinese restaurant being our favourite-due to food and service! The Italian was also great but service was much slower. Weather in Mauritius in July (their winter) we thought was exceptionally good, around 26/27 degrees everyday when we were there. Very windy at night, did drop a bit cool. Such a great holiday, wish we had stayed for longer!More
