With easy access to a sandy beach, waterpark and nightlife, the Port Benidorm Hotel has a first-rate location. Plus, it had a revamp in 2016.
The Port Benidorm, formerly known as Los Dalmatas, was completely refurbished in 2016. As well as freshened up bedrooms, it has a revamped pool, a larger sun terrace, and a shiny new bar.
Location-wise, it’s two minutes’ walk from a sandy beach and five minutes’ car journey to a slide-filled waterpark. There are bars and pubs in the streets surrounding the hotel, and the main nightlife strip is a 15-minute walk away.

Nice hotel, expensive for what you get
We stayed as a family of four from 13th - 20th June. We paid in excess of £800ppp which for Benidorm I think is expensive even for all inclusive. The hotel itself is immaculate and rooms were cleaned extensively daily. We had clean towels everyday with the exception of 1 day. We were placed on the 15th floor with a sea view, if you are afraid of heights then you must ask for a lower level room prior to arrival as it is quite daunting. The maids are constantly cleaning everything from the rooms to the lifts. The lifts were our main bugbear as you have to swipe your room key and tap your floor and then wait to be assigned a lift either A,B,C or D. As you can imagine in a 17 storey hotel you can be waiting in excess of 5-10 mins for your lift to arrive as you cannot just walk into any random lift. Drinks were as expected and are not brand names, you also cannot get the slushes or kopparbergs on the all inclusive, they are at a discounted rate of approx €1.95. Pool bar staff and restaurant staff are non stop and always pleasant, you never had to wait long for a drink. Pool bar snacks are on throughout the day and mainly include chips pizza burgers cheese fruit etc. You can also ask for crisps/ nuts and ice creams at the pool bar free of charge on AI. In the restaurant you can ask for a large bottle of water or bottle of wine with your meal. We found the food extremely bland and repetitive. The food consisted of dry pasta, dry meat (mostly pork or beef rarely chicken) some form of fish (again dry no sauce), chips, paella, a variety of bread and a salad bar. Entertainment was great around the pool and included water polo, and water aerobics etc. Nighttime entertainment was not great and again was repetitive we saw the same female singer at least 3 times in one week. There are enough beds to ensure that people are not queuing on. A morning but don't leave it too late as they tend to go in an afternoon. Overall the hotel itself is lovely and modern / clean and the staff are extremely hardworking. I would probably return half board if we were able to get a cheap deal. More
Not a 5* Platinum
Perfect location, fab pool area, lovely, clean & modern. Room wasn't adequate for 3 women, balcony was really small & only had 2 chairs (there was 3 of us) Food was the worst ive ever experienced, all the meat tasted the same - bland ! English sausage(apparently) was horrendous, wouldn't feed it to an animal.. Bacon fatty, mashed potato tasted & looked awful, chicken soup resembled warmed up wallpaper paste (not that I have experienced the taste of wallpaper paste but if I had then the soup would be it) Not what I was expecting from a 5* hotel, got fed up eating chips ! Really disappointed .. Snack bar was just as bad, hot dogs that didn't taste like hot dogs, burgers that didn't contain any meat, pizza that was under cooked & more chips ! Would stay here again but would do bed & breakfast only, spoke to others who also said the food wasn't up to much, I am a fussy eater but have never struggled in other hotels & as long as there is plenty meats & rice then I'm happy, but there wasn't here ! Seen rice once all week. Some of the dishes were empty & I had to shout of the chef/server to bring some more ! Plenty salad stuff altho there idea of red onion was picked onions soaked in beetroot juice ! Used the toilets at the bar one night & some filthy animal had been sick in the sink & left it, I did report it at reception & he got on the radio straight away to get it cleaned up. Cant access the pool area till 9am, which isn't good when you wake up at 7 & the sun is out. Didn't realise this till we went down on our first morning & got screamed at to go away - the lad who puts the loungers out is obnoxious & really unfriendly, never seen him smile all week ! The lifts are a hassle, cant just get in & press the number of the floor you require, have to swipe your room key before you get in & the screen tells you to get in lift A, B, C or D .. Older folk were getting confused with this & riding up & down in the lifts for ages .. All in all it was a good holiday & the weather was fantastic, shame about the food, ate in Burger King & McDonalds two nights & an Indian meal another night (don't usually eat in fast food places) but due to the poor food I had to.More
The hotel is very modern, staff very friendly, I agree with all of that but I will have to disagree with a couple of other things firstly the rooms, my room has got to be the smallest in the hotel, room 401 it has a sea view but I was expecting a really spacious room as I've read all the reviews possible. It has smallest wardrobe I've ever had to deal with and there's not a lot of space between the bed and wardrobe, and as usual there is not enough coat hangers. Now, the bathroom, again it has to be the smallest bathroom in the world it has only one sink which is just not acceptable, I have a lot of toiletries and nowhere to put them, the shower water spills onto the bathroom floor completely soaking the bath mat (annoying). The swimming pool, obviously cold at first but lovely once you get in. The doors to the pool are opened st 9am and there's always a queue, I'm not exaggerating when I say there is a stampede to get (not the sunbeds) but the brollys there is a serious shortage of umbrellas. I was pushed out of the way by this male guest so he could do a mad dash to get his brolly I never seen anything like it before. I think some could get hurt and that would've be the fault of the management. Now the food, I'm loving the meals very tasty up to now I had chicken pie last night it was gorge. Just one more thing about the swimming pool it is surrounded by Astro turf my husband stepped on it because the path was hot and found it to be quite hot so much so he did a little dance. That's all for now. More

This was our first visit to Benidorm (in fact, even Spain) & before we had even left the Uk on this holiday we are already booked to go back on 28/11/2017 & we can't wait to do so. Upon arrival at this very clean, modern & bright hotel, we were greeted with warm, friendly reception staff. After check in we went to our room (313) which overlooked the pool & we were surely not disappointed. The room was spacious, clean & came with a proper bathroom unlike other rooms where it was a glass screen. The room was cleaned daily with fresh towels every day too. The pool area was immaculate with the entertainment staff keeping guest of all ages entertained throughout the day with various activities, like aqua aerobics, darts, carpet bowls etc. The evening singing duet weren't the best in my opinion as the female singer tended to make her own words up to some of the songs, or mixed the song with English & Spanish versions. The other acts, like the magician, acrobatics etc were more enjoyable. While my husband & I are not the most adventurous eaters, we always found something to eat on the menu at all mealtimes. The varied theme nights were a good idea also..anyone who says they couldn't eat here must be extremely fussy. All the restaurant & bar staff were pleasant enough & some even tried to have a bit of a laugh with you....which is great as they put in some long, hard hours...a true credit to the hotel. The only negative (although I understand their reasoning for it) I have with the hotel was their lift system, your room card only allowed you to go to your own level, the pool or restaurant, therefore, if you wanted to visit friends on a higher floor, you had a long walk up the stairs. This, as I said earlier was our first time in this resort, with another return visit due shortly & we anticipate returning again as this hotel is outstanding, I think you would find it difficult to find such luxury anywhere else in the resort with a great location to the beach, shops & other entertainment/food outlets. We loved our holiday & have already recommended it to other family & friends.More
Just got back from port benidom 17.6.17 Lovely clean hotel and friendly staff. Food most days was good and plenty of choice. Catering mainly for British and Spanish holiday makers. Entertainment not great but this is benerdorm so no need to worry about that. Would advise to go halfboard as drinks in town very cheap.and you wouldn't be stopping in hotel long after having your evening meal. Pool nice.and you will get use to the glass bathrooms. Would definitely go back next yearlMore
