We stayed here with friends for 9nights..very clean hotel, staff are very good and friendly. Food was brilliant every meal and great choice. Children enjoyed the clean, lovely pool and were very well looked after by Ines and team from love carpe diem entertainment. Close to beach and pretty walk into Bol. More
Hot Chocolate at 10pm?......
We have just returned from a week at the Bonaca, overall very enjoyable although there are a few things to be aware of which may make your stay a little more pleasant. All-inclusive is fine however the availability of hot drinks outside of a meal time is quite poor, we wanted a hot chocolate at about 2200 and whilst the restaurant was open (this being the only place for hot chocolate) it appeared to be a special favour to be allowed in to have one from the machine. Beer and soft drinks were also only available from either the restaurant (during meals) or the pool bar, this despite a very large function room with bar inside the main building. We never saw this bar open throughout the entire stay although there was often chairs arranged in the room. Confusingly it was alos signed as a bar.... Sun loungers are in plentiful supply but they are plastic and become uncomfortable after a while, you may want to bring some cushions if space allows. Sun shades however are in very short supply, you can go early and hog one but if you leave it unattended the pool attendant may remove it and give it to somebody else. I watched this happen one morning and could scarcely believe it, he did take care to ensure that the removed sun shade was delivered to the opposite side of the pool. As mentioned in other posts the food is good and plentiful the wine and beer are also good just a shame that the outlets for the drinks are so limited.More
A very relaxing and enjoyable holiday
We have just returned from a weeks holiday at this resort feeling very relaxed and refreshed. The hotel is in an ideal location for a short pleasant walk to the small town of Bol or to the famous Zaltnirat beach. The hotel is very clean with friendly and helpful staff. The restaurant and terrace had a good selection of food for everyone to enjoy which started being served at 7am for breakfast and didn't stop until midnight. All food in the restaurant was clearly marked in english. The pool bar was the only bar serving drinks during the day and evening and sometimes there where queues however the staff where happy and polite. The marmara animation team where all French, as where the majority of the guests in the hotel, and tended to presume everyone was french and although you spoke to them in English the next time they continued to speak to you in French again. The love carpe diem international team which consisted of 2 pool side reps spoke excellent english and Ines made an effort to speak to everyone everyday to make sure they where enjoying themselves and to feel included in the programs for the day. She was very happy and always smiling and made our time around the pool enjoyable. We travel with Tui and had a very friendly and chatty rep Lesley who informed us of lots of helpful information regards the hotel and resort so we knew everything that was available. We purchased cushions from the local stalls along the seafront at 70kr which made the sunbeds around the pool comfier for the week and also used on the stoney beach. We took beach shoes with us which are advisable however can be purchased again from the stalls at around 50kr. Pool towels are available from the reception desk at hotel with a 50kr deposit if not taking your own and can be changed as often as you like. The transfer from spilt airport was separated into 3 parts so although a long time with the ferry in-between 2 coach journeys it was bearable. We would consider going back to this hotel again as enjoyed the relax atmosphere and the beautiful scenery Bol and Croatia offered.More
Special thanks to Ines/Kids club!
We stayed for one week: 2 adults and 4 kids altogether. Our stay was pleasant. What really made us happy was the sweetest and most professional animator at the Kids Club: Ines! Imagine that despite a language in common our kids preferred playing with her to the beach. And this is a strong statement if you come from a Nordic country with too little sunshine!More
Very unimpressed. Couldn't even stay.
We arrived and were very unsatisfied. Rather than staying for the week, we decided to cancel our booking and find alternate accommodation. We are easy-going travelers and have never complained about accommodation before. We had booked the accommodation on Hotels.com. The booking was clearly for a 2-bedroom (because we were travelling with 2 small children). We arrived and were told that there were no 2-bedroom units so we were given a 1-bedroom unit. The pictures on hotels.com showed a spacious, well-lit room with nice furnishings but the actual accommodation was small, dark and not very clean. We explained that our booking was for a 2-bedroom and that it was a critical requirement for us because we were travelling with 2 small kids. The hotel staff were nice and understanding, however they said that the error was with hotels.coms booking system and that there was nothing they could do. We called Hotels.com and were able to get a refund. We used the refund to book a very nice & spacious 3-bedroom apartment for less money (to be fair, the apartment is not an all-inclusive). While waiting for the manager, we did take a quick dip in the pool. The pool area was reasonably nice, but it was very windy. Lineup at the bar was very long because the bartender was very slow. Don't mean to sound like such a complainer. We usually enjoy the quirks that come with travelling, but in our brief time at Bluesun, we didn't find much to enjoy.More
