This sleek seafront hotel has 4 pools and direct access to one of best beaches in Majorca.
Minimal and modern are the first words that spring to mind when it comes to the Ferrera Blanca. Outside, it’s all white walls and blue-tinted glass. The bedrooms are just as contemporary and come with a balcony or terrace.
The hotel has 4 swimming pools set in well-tended gardens, and leads right onto the golden sands of Cala Ferrera beach. It’s also got 2 restaurants and a theatre bar.

Good Family Hotel with Great Staff
We booked direct with the hotel and stayed for 6 nights all inclusive in a standard double room. I thought we got a very good rate for the room and A.I. We stayed in room 10 203 just off the small road that divides the complex. The room was excellent, very spacious and spotlessly clean with a double bed as opposed to the more usual two singles pushed together. The room has tea and coffee making facilities and a small fridge for keeping drinks cool. Nice 32 inch TV with a good choice of English channels and a sofa to relax on. The room was very quite with little traffic noise. Our balcony was small with 3 chairs and a table and looked over the 'valley' towards some other hotels. Other rooms would have better views. The bathroom had a spacious and effective shower but could do with a curtain or more effective blind in first floor rooms as you can see through from the road below. I can honestly say that the staff were some of the nicest we have come across anywhere. There is a video on YouTube featuring many of them. It shows what a happy bunch they are. We found the food to be very good and ate in the main restaurant every day. We did not try the Italian Restaurant that is open in the evening but the looked good also. We thought the choice and quality of the food to be very good indeed. The ice cream was a particular favourite. You are taken to your table and provided with a large jug of water. Wine, beer and soft drinks are served at a small bar in the dining room. Wine is from the bottle not a dispensing machine. Personally I found the wine to be very good. The hotel is great for families with young children. Entertainment is based around the outside pool area and if I was being critical there is not really anywhere nice to sit and relax inside. I would have liked a more comfortable lounge area but that would be my only criticism. Nice touch that the bar staff came around taking drinks orders, not encountered this before with all inclusive. The bus stop outside the hotel will get you into Palma and a few other places for very little money. We did visit the market at Santarini but were not over impressed. There is a nice walk up above the right hand side of the beach to some benches if you fancy an evening stroll. A great hotel especially if you have children but would have liked a better indoor lounge area with some entertainment for the 50-60's age group. Fabulous staff though.More

Nice hotel, good area. Go SC not All inc though
Room â We stayed in Block 8, 302. The room was perfect, good size, well done out & maintained. Bed was very comfortable, power shower was good, room cleaned well daily. Made a nice change that there were lots of UK TV channels. I know you donât go on holiday to watch TV but if like me youâre unlucky enough to get ill and have to stay in the room itâs nice to have a good choice of channels (inc BBC 1, ITV, Channel 4, E4, Film 4, More 4). The location of the room is brilliant, right by the âquietâ pool and restaurant, a few steps to the beach. Itâs quiet in the day and in the evening, unlike some of the rooms by the âmain poolâ. Hotel facilities â The hotel is well laid out with a few two story blocks, rather than one big high rise. The hotel is very clean and on the whole well maintained. The main part of the hotel has the activity pool (used mostly by families), the main bar, entertainment/shows in evening and reception. Our room in Block 8 was around the quieter pool, restaurant, smaller bar and by the beach. There are shows on most evenings and also some entertainment like bingo or quizzes. The shows were ok, what you would expect from a 4* hotel. The Michael Jackson tribute was great though. We went near the end of September so we didnât find too much of an issue with the sunbed reserving situation as other reviewers in August commented on. That said most days pretty much all sunbeds by the pool were taken by 10am. That was by our pool though, I canât comment on the other two pools or the sunbeds on the roof of the restaurant (with no pool). If you are concerned though a room in block 8, as the balcony is huge, has two comfy sunbeds, table, chairs & full sun all day. We spent the second half of the week sunning ourselves there as we thought why bother reserving sunbeds by the pool (where the few were left at 9/10am), when we had a perfect private sunbathing area on our terrace, still a few steps from the pool and bar/restaurant. ALL the staff at the hotel were fantastic! Reception staff, barman/waiters, cleaners, all were so helpful, friendly and attentive. Iâve never known hotel staff to work so hard and happily, making you always feel welcome. As two (fairly!) young female friends travelling without men, it was a refreshing change to have male hotel staff who were friendly without making us feel uncomfortable or being hit on. Area â The hotel is situated in Cala Ferrera which has a few bars/restaurants but the larger area of Cala Dâor is really close. It takes about 15 minutes to walk into the centre of Cala Dâor. Thereâs lots of restaurants, a few shops but not really any nightlife. This is perfect for families and couples looking for a quiet evening of dinner/drinks but not much on the entertainment/night scene. Whilst we didnât want a massive Magaluf style clubbing scene it would have been nice to have a couple of late bars with some music, something a bit more lively. There are a couple of late bars by the main square (near Burger King), Buddha bar and the one next door (sorry didnât get the name). Theyâre ok for somewhere to go after midnight for some more drinks, with djs so you can have a bit of a dance but they are both quite small and not very busy. Thereâs a club called Sir Lawrence a couple of streets away from the hotel which is open Thurs-Sat, 12-6am. We didnât try it, it looks like it could be quite empty but again at least itâs somewhere to go. Iâve heard thereâs a club called Farah near the main square as well but again we didnât get to visit. There are a few activities to do in the day time if you get a bit bored. Thereâs the Starfish boat trip which picks up from Cala Ferrera beach, stopping off at the other beaches to pick up/drop off, going to Cala Mondrago, the large natural beach. You can hire bikes at a few places in Cala Dâor. We hired ours from Motosport for 9euros for the day. We got the bus to Palma for the day, which was brilliant for sightseeing and shopping! The bus costs 8.50 euros each way, takes around 1 ½ hrs, picking up/dropping off at the red bus stop a couple of streets from the hotel. Thereâs about 5 beaches spread around Cala Ferrera/Cala Dâor. Theyâre all pretty much the same, nice sandy beaches with beautiful clear warm sea to swim in. Itâs safe for kids and most seemed to have Blue Flag for cleanliness. Food/drinks â We went All Inclusive and felt that the food was a big let down. Thereâs plenty of choice for breakfast, lots of cereals, pastries, some fruit, yoghurt, cooked breakfast but to be honest, like the lunch & dinner, I wish that thereâd been slightly less choice so that the food could be better quality. Other reviewers raved about the Mexican themed night but we werenât too impressed and decided to eat out. Iâm not a fussy eater, will try most things and always find something I like but by the middle of the week I was really struggling to find anything that I could eat. I understand that as itâs all inclusive they want to give lots of choice and keep costs to a minimum but they just need to make a few tweaks, sometimes changes that would not cost more, that would make the food so much better. For example on the Mexican night there were ribs in a âsweet & sourâ sauce. Bit random for a Mexican theme but I thought Iâd give them a go. The âsauceâ was not sweet & sour at all but more Indian, like a tikka paste. The actual meat was fine and would have been lovely if left plain but the strange âsauceâ made them inedible. The drinks included were fairly good. The house (all inc) wine is pretty dire but the cava is ok, as is the beer. You get the usual house/local spirits and mixer, same as most all inc. The cocktails are ok, again using local spirits/mixers. Thereâs enough choice to keep you happy, not if youâre quite fussy about having certain branded drinks but then if thatâs the case then donât go all inclusive (anywhere!). Overall I think this a really nice, well run hotel in a good area. The only let down for me is the food, so I would stay here again but on a self catering basis. Thereâs plenty of good restaurants nearby, especially by the marina.More

Positives: - Modern, clean spacious room with large balcony and excellent facilities (we had a suite twin room) - Rooms were cleaned daily - Friendly staff all round - Good mix of people (couples, families) - Varied food and buffet which was good quality overall (theme nights and barbeque mixed things up a little too!) - Good all inclusive drinks selection, including champagne (drinks were served in plastic cups during the day, but in glasses in the evening). P.s. House white wine wasn't very good, but the house red wine was satisfactory - 3 beaches were in walking distance to the hotel - Bus stop to various towns and markets right outside the hotel restaurant (Santanyi market was amazing!) - Area is safe and staff are trustworthy (left cash and electric devices lying out in the room and no issues) Negatives: - If we were to be picky, some of the buffet food was cold and too salty at times (but this is understandable as its a buffet and is due to personal preferences - also, really hot food is available in the a la carte restaurant) - Breakfast starts at 8:00am, which is slightly late (especially considering bus times are often early and irregular, which doesn't allow you to have a proper breakfast if you want to have an all day excursion) Note: The local area is very touristy and commercialised (so if you are looking for a peaceful and authentic holiday, this is not for you! 50/50: - Entertainment was a hit and miss - most nights it was really good, but some nights it was really disappointing, and more of a bother if you wanted to just have a chill at the pool bar (especially as our room was located right above the outside stage; however, a big proportion of the rooms are located around this area so it wasn't specifically us).More

Reasonable hotel aimed at family holidays
We visited this hotel for 10 days in October 2014 as a couple on a self-catering basis. On arrival (at around 1 am), we were met by a friendly receptionist who offered us refreshments & snacks. We had booked a self catering apartment and despite some reviews stating they are on the small size, we were pleasantly surprised at the decent size. The apartment would be cramped for four people (there are 2 single beds, pushed together as a double and 2 sofa's which can be used for sleeping) but was perfectly adequate for a couple. The beds were comfortable but were not affixed to each other (2 singe beds pushed together does not make a double). There is a decent sized balcony although no view to speak of. The kitchen came with a fridge with small ice box, microwave, 2 ring electric hob, toaster, kettle, (tiny) cups, cutlery and crockery. The TV was a decent (32"?) Samsung with HDMI access so you can connect your own peripherals if desired. The apartment complex is huge with 3 swimming pools, cafe & restaurant. There was signage prohibiting reservation of sun loungers but this rule was not adhered to and staff did not police it. We visited at a fairy quiet time however so this was not necessarily a problem for us. I am unable to comment on the quality of the restaurant as we visited the local town for dinner most nights. In summary, I would say that the hotel is very much geared to families with children (interaction I noticed between staff and the visiting children looked fun and they do a good job of entertaining guests). As a couple visiting, it was perfectly adequate and served its purpose well.More

Second Time Stay
This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel and the only hotel we have ever returned to so that tells you something for a start. Ferrera Blanca is in a great location just off a lovely little beach (though the beach is very busy in summer) and only a few minutes from bars, shops, restaurants, kids play park with bouncy castle and go karts plus adventure golf. A further walk (about 15 mins) takes you into the main Cala D'Or area where there are lots more shops and restaurants. The food at Ferrera Blanca is good with lots of choice and the all inclusive drinks are much better than some other places, with about 6 or 7 lovely cocktails on the all inclusive list too. The staff are all really lovely and the animation team do a really good job. We stayed in a suite this time, 2 adults and 2 children and there was lots of room with a separate bedroom and then sofa beds in living room. The bathroom was lovely with a large wet room shower. We'd love to come back another time!More
