Pleasant hotel for a relaxing holiday

Have just spent a week all inclusive at this hotel. We stayed in block 11 & found it very comfortable. There was hardly any noise other than passing traffic. The room was kept clean, towels were changed every day .The animation team there do a very good job & kept on the go from there morning start up routine to they finish at night. When we arrived at reception there was refreshments waiting for us.They offered an upgrade which is payable & also safe key for in your room which costs 21 euros for the week.Sun beds after reading previous reports there was no problems at all , this might be due to holidaying there out with school times .Swimming pool was fine & cleaned every day. Restaurants the main one food was of plenty choice & nice and hot.Visited the italian on our last night & was disappointed with main meal it was lukewarm.Had arranged an early morning breakfast was very disappointed with that also the room they had arranged for the breakfast was a sweat box.Overall we had what we went for a nice relaxing holiday .Staff in all areas do an excellent job & the place is spotless .Have no problems going back there for a holiday.More

Superb value!

I will admit that I had very snobby preconceptions about an all inclusive hotel with evening entertainment but I had the best week at Ferrera Blanca and will definitely return. We stayed 4-11 Sept & after reading all the comments about sun loungers I felt stressed before we arrived! We had absolutely no problems with sunbeds, but yes I can imagine during the school holidays there would be issues because of all the children as well as adults needing them. We went in a family party of 6 adults and an 11 month old baby. We all stayed in the suites - lovely spacious clean rooms with fridge & kettle - perfect as I needed to sterilise baby bottles - and a cot with sheets/mattress was provided for free. Rooms cleaned everyday - even at 3pm if we didn't take the 'do not disturb' sign off til then because of baby naps. Yes evening entertainment mostly quite cheesy - but mostly fun and if you don't like it, you don't have to watch it! Animacion team who run entertainment day and night - plus kids club are great, always have a smile on their faces. There are activities in the day to take part in, I even did aqua aerobics - but you can go to a different pool if you don't want to be near all this. Food was sometimes a bit average, sometimes fab - but always a great selection and SO much on offer so you will always find something you like. All inclusive wine very nice. 3 different pools to choose from - all clean and a lovely temp. Gardens surrounding all the rooms are very well maintained and pretty. We only left hotel twice - once for a meal in the marina which was lovely and once for a date night in the nearby town of Santanyi as we wanted something really special as Cala D'Or itself very much caters to tourists but the beaches are gorgeous. The staff at the hotel are fantastic - friendly, cheerful and so helpful. Particularly the restaurant staff and animacion team. Our ONLY gripe was the double bed in the suite is actually 2 singles pushed together. Our room was a good location with the baby - block 14 overlooking the baby pool not the entertainment. We were far enough away from it, as requested. There are blocks that overlook the beach, by the restaurant that would be great - I'd request one of these when the baby is older. It's a large hotel but not so large that any block is far from anything though. Overall it's SUCH great value for money. We look forward to returning! Mixy, mixy, shaky, shaky! More

Perfection!

We have just arrived back from a fabulous week at fererra blanca! We booked this hotel only four weeks before we were due to depart on an all inclusive basis. We arrived at lunchtime to be greeted by welcoming reception staff who had refreshments waiting for us (nice touch)! Once checked in we were shown to our room which was in block 12 on the ground floor. We had booked a suite, which had a separate living area, bedroom, and bathroom. The rooms are spotless, and extremely modern and comfortable. I would go as far as saying it was one of the best rooms I have ever stayed in abroad. We had a large balcony with table and chairs, however our view was a bit poor so we barely ever sat out. We were absolutely amazed how fantastic the food was, in my head I imagined a 4star all inclusive to be ok but not amazing, I was so wrong.... The food was the best I have ever experienced in a hotel abroad! Theirs so much choice and variety! Everything is cooked so fresh and beautifully displayed. Both lunch and dinner were a treat of different meals, their was no repetition. There were 3 theme nights during our stay which were all lovely, my boyfriend enjoyed the Mexican night the best! The chefs and staff put in so much effort to make your dining experience enjoyable. Their is also a snack bar near the pool area which serves fresh stone baked pizza, chips, burgers, salads etc. this area then turns into an Italian al a carte in the evening with live music around the pool. We never ate here as the food in the buffet restaurant was so good, and we also treated ourselves to two meals out in cala D'or during the holiday. Their are three pools, they are lovely and clean with comfy rattan sun beds. The hotel backs onto cala fererra beach which is stunning. The beach is so clean, and the sea is crystal blue, lovely to take a dip in. I would have to say the best thing about this hotel is the staff, they go above and beyond what is expected of them to make your holiday amazing. Thank you to the maids, bar staff, restaurant waiters, chefs, and animation team. They all work incredible long hours and the standard of service is always excellent, and they are always smiling! I would recommend fererra blanca to anyone of any age, it was the perfect holiday for us (we are a young couple). Cala D'or itself is lovely and the marina at night is stunning. Would definitely return to this beautiful hotel! More

Fab time at the Ferrera Blanca

We have just returned from a fabulous one week all inclusive holiday arriving 6th September. Timed perfectly for the kids being back at school so we found the resort to be fairly quiet. Our room was in block 8 and was spacious, clean with a lovely walk-in shower, and a huge balcony for enjoying a cup of coffee first thing in the morning. The room also included an iron, board and kettle. The safe was also in the room but requires a deposit and at a charge of €3 per day. There are 3 pool areas at the resort, the lively pool is situated next to reception, which was across the road from block 8. A matter of a minutes walk. There was also another small pool area to the side of the activity pool. The activity pool also hosted the entertainment during the evening. The third pool is situated overlooking Ferrera beach and was classed as the quiet pool. This was our prefered place to sunbathe. We had no problem to get a sunbed and umbrella every day but I guess that was because we chose to visit outside the kids summer holidays. The buffet restaurant was also situated above the quiet pool as was the Italian restaurant. There was always plenty of choice at every meal. There were also themed nights, the barbecue was a let down but the Spanish and Mexican nights were very good. Drinks were also very good especially the Estrella on draft. Wine was also good and you could also have Cava. The location of the hotel was perfect, a minutes walk to Ferrera beach, five minutes to Ferrera centre with all the bars and restaurants and approx. 15 minutes to get to Cala D'or. The Marina was probably a further 10 minutes from Cala D'or centre. If you fancied a day trip into Palma the bus stop is right outside the hotel and buses run daily. I would certainly recommend this hotel to friends and family but DEFINATELY NOT during the kids summer holidays.More

Hotels success

I think the secret of this hotels success is their staff. All of the staff we saw work incredibly hard and seem to work long hours. The animation team were brilliant and always have time and patience for the children. Our accommodation was on the end of Block 9 which had a balcony and sunbeds. This was clean and well maintained and serviced each day by the maid. We could not fault the food in the restaurants and the Theme nights were especially good. The restaurant managers seem to have everything running like clockwork. We never had a problem getting a sunbed around the pool(anytime of the day)Maybe this was because it was in September. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.More
