Aparthotel Ferrera Blanca

This sleek seafront hotel has 5 pools and direct access to one of best beaches in Majorca.

Minimal and modern are the first words that spring to mind when it comes to the Ferrera Blanca. Outside, it’s all white walls and blue-tinted glass. The bedrooms are just as contemporary and come with a balcony or terrace.

The hotel has 5 swimming pools set in well-tended gardens, and leads right onto the golden sands of Cala Ferrera beach. It’s also got 2 restaurants and a theatre bar.

Lovely week at Ferrera Blanca!!

I recently visited this hotel (early May) with my Mum and older sister and we had a lovely time. The transfer from Palma airport is about 2 hours, but this went very quickly and the coach takes you on a scenic route to Ferrera Blanca. There was a quick and efficient check in at reception on arrival. We were on a half-board basis, which we found great, and we stayed in one of the Suites. The suite had a room with two single beds and then there was a large sofa bed in the lounge area so there was plenty of room and you didn't feel like you were on top of each other. The food at the hotel was great - lots of choice and all nicely cooked. The breakfast buffet was plentiful, with the choice of a continental breakfast or full English. There was also lots of fruit and cereals to choose from if you wanted to be healthy (we didn't). There was fresh orange juice and prosecco/cava at breakfast as well which we thought was a nice touch. The evening meal in the buffet restaurant was equally as good, with themed nights such as Asian and Spanish night. There was always lots to choose from and you won't go hungry. You have to queue outside the restaurant and wait to be seated, which was nice because it felt a bit more civilized than trying to fight for a table. You also didn't then have to worry about someone stealing your table when you go up for food, which I have experienced in other all inclusive hotels! The hotel offers an alternative to the buffet restaurant in the style of an Italian restaurant underneath the main restaurant. There was no limit on the amount of times you could eat here, so we ate at the Italian four out the seven nights. The Italian was table service so felt like you were in a proper restaurant, with waiter service for drinks and your main course. The starters and pudding were in buffet style but a much smaller scale, so it was very enjoyable and calm. Top tip - try the chocolate muffins in the Italian restaurant as they were to die for! As we were half board, we didn't eat in the hotel at lunch time. We did however find a lovely place to eat called L'Espiga D'or which was just a 2 minute walk from the hotel. I would definitely recommend eating here if you have chance to. The hotel is in a great location - the surrounding area is very calm and peaceful but there are lots of bars and restaurants and things to keep you entertained. The hotel is a couple of minutes walk away from a strip of numerous bars and restaurants and a place to play crazy golf which was good fun. The alcohol was not expensive and we found a particular bar that charged about 4 euros for a large whiskey coke or 5 for some cocktails. If you walk another 10 or so minutes, you come to a slightly larger town. The Cala Ferrera marina is about 20 minutes walk from the hotel and this was worth a visit. The hotel itself was extremely clean and tidy, the rooms were cleaned on a daily basis and all of the staff were all very friendly and ready to help. There were numerous pools (with a splash pool which looked good if you have young children) and there were plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas. The evening entertainment was surprisingly ok! The hotel hires in acts for some of the entertainment, such as a Jackson 5 tribute and a magician, which were all fine to sit and watch with a glass of wine (or four). All in all, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a relaxing week. We were a bit unlucky with the weather, with rain and cloud a few of the days we were there, but we did choose to go in early May! The hotel also has free wifi which was good. Some of the reviews seem to say that they only had connection in the reception area, but we had wifi connection everywhere in the hotel (including our room). I don't think you will have much to complain about if you choose to visit Aparthotel Ferrera Blanca!More

All inclusive nightmare.

Forget spending all your hard earned cash to take the family away on a well deserved break to this place. We arrived to find that our room had been taken over by a couple who refused to move out and that we had to wait hours till there was a room available. Not the best start but heh just arrived not there fault. Me, Mrs and baby 16 months get told head on down to restaurant and get something to eat and drink while we get your room ready. So it begins, we walk past a really nice pool down a little lane cross the quiet road and get to the restaurant or as we called it the place to get shoved, stared at treated like dirt from staff get some sort of illness from the ill prepared Luke warm drivel they claimed was food. I'm annoyed you've guessed that already but I'm no complainer I'm a normal hard working guy that loves his family and just wants a break now and again, but this won't happen at this hotel I can't warn you enough. Examples of things that happened; Our room was round by the bins. The people staying at the hotel were raging alcoholics, now bare in mind I'm Scottish and work for the health service in Glasgow. Even I was shocked at the dads asleep on the tables drunk in front of the kids shows at 8pm basically licking the top of the tables while there kids barely 4 were pulling at there lifeless arms asking, " can we go home now". Shocking, disgusting behavior which of course is not the hotels fault but the fault of these, Jakes as we call them in Glasgow. The food is so bad my Jack Russell would turn his nose up at it. I'm not exaggerating when I say it's the worst ever it was like stepping back into 1970 buffet again. It was if they were trying to make you I'll deliberately which by the way my baby did after two days here. I'm not saying that it was the hotel of course not but the Dr that we had to pay 120 euros for to attend our child was not impressed when advised where we were staying. Baby fine now after returning home. The surrounding area is best described as devoid of anything, really boring tacky nasty wee cafes. Good points were Rebecca the receptionist really nice and patient a wonderful member of staff who helped us escape by getting us a taxi and letting us move to the Bahia hotel in Alcudia which by the way for being in the same chain of hotels is night and day in comparison. The Bahia is stunning, fantastic rooms great restaurant staff they were lovely. The kids shows were really good still whistling some of the kids songs weeks later. Step right onto the beach from the hotel. Wonderful thank god compared to that awful Ferrera Blanca. More

Well worth a visit

Firstly cannot believe the bad comment I have just read baring in mind I am very fussy I cannot fault this hotel or the staff they honestly couldn't have done any more for us friendly happy especially the lovely ladies in the restaurant watching them with little kids was lovely and the animation team are fantastic trying to get everyone involved (but not pushy) and plenty of activities for both children and adults (darts/ping pong/volleyball/shooting/archery) my husband enjoyed joining in more than the kids even the house keeping staff would say hello and smile despite them working long hours in the heat aswel as the bar staff. The all inclusive was a god send with the children and they was plenty of choice when it came to meal times from snacks to main meals and beautiful desserts and plenty of fresh fruit , they had theme nights we loved the Thai night. Room was basic but very clean and housekeeping came every day and is a choice of 5 pools. Ours over looked one of the pools which was lovely and the beach is just a few minutes walk.More
