What a great holiday... Dont listen to negatives !!

This was a great holiday from start to finish... please don't be put off by the negatives. when arriving it was raining... but we were greeted by very friendly helpful staff our room was basic but very clean, yes furniture worn in places, name me a hotel that's not. we had a lovely big floor balcony which had a table & chairs for 4 and 2 sun lounges facing one of the pools. we were in block 14.yes it is near the stage but we honestly didn't hear much after 11.30pm, we didn't experience children running riot etc..... this is a family resort, there are kids there, but there was no problems or concerns over noise etc.... sun beds ... yes it can be a problem, again name me a hotel that doesn't ... yes they were going early... but if you cant beat then you end up joining them... we heard a few things from people about beds and the area around the stage , gets the sun most of the time, the management should remove some of the tables and chairs in the day and put out loungers.... this would really help the situation. people do put towels on then go to the beach and return a few hours later.... this is frustrating, but not unusual on hotel holidays. the animation team are outstanding, if anyone says their child gets bored this is not down to the animation team... my sons are 13 & 15... and they joined in everything, so did me and my husband, activities all day every day and a great variety for everyone. Beach cove is lovely, agreed busy , but e always got a spot near the front and had a good swim, we hired the pedlo with the slides twice great fun for the kids... and we saw no jelly fish :) . the holiday we had was great fun, plenty to walk around in the evenings, lots of restaurants and shops. we did AI, drinks and ice creams available throughout the day, kids helped themselves, it was great. We experienced no problems on this holiday.... we can only highly recommend ... and yes we would most definitely go back... it is aMore

Lovely hotel for families

We booked for a week self catering, and on arrival we were offered a room upgrade and half board for €70 for the four of us - that's effectively €2.50 each per day. So we chose to accept - worthwhile even if we just had breakfast! The room we had was 2nd floor near the main pool area, which meant that we did get the noise from the evening entertainment, however it was generally finished by 11pm, so this didn't really affect us. If the kids went to bed before it finished, it was because they were so tired they'd have slept through anything! Yes, as some people have said, the sunbed situation was a bit silly. Basically most people seemed to put towels down just before going to bed. I went down at 6am one morning and got the last 4. The entertainments team were fabulous, they appeared to be on the go all day, and our kids (age 7 and 9) really enjoyed the activities, especially Pirate Day. The beach is pretty close, I wouldn't say the hotel was "on the beach" but close enough to not be an issue for us. We had a couple of days down there, to make a change from the pool. We didn't have any issue getting beds despite arriving about 10.30, although we were some distance back from the sea. The food was of high quality, and had sufficient variety for us, it was nice to have a choice of the themed buffet, or the italian restaurant in the evening. We did eat out in the town a few times though for a change of atmosphere. Maybe we were lucky that while we were there, there seemed to be no issues with kids running wild, I guess that sort of thing can happen anywhere.More

Such a relaxing time

We had a fabulous time, it was our first time doing all inclusive and wow what a place to pick, food was fabulous good variety and quality, I was most impressed. Well so impressed I have book to return already, my daughter (7) found the entertainment great she joined in the shows so while she was amused we could relax. I would recommend this place to anyone, so clean staff very freindly and helpful.More

Overall a 3 but staff a 5

We stayed here for 11 nights AI towards end of August - booked based on TA reviews and had been to Cala D'Or before and liked the area. Was very concerned just prior to leaving due to the sunbed/towel scenario and this was really stressing me out - however in arrival Reception informed us that the hotel management were now looking at this, towels left unattended would be removed and if hotel towels were used then you would lose your deposit (fair enough). So for the first week the sunbed issue was ok, however as time went on I found myself going out earlier and earlier just to ensure we wold have somewhere to go! I agree pool areas too small - we stayed by the pool which looks like its Mickey Mouse shaped but averages 1.7-2metre deep! Our suite in block 14 was large enough and generally clean although the room cleaning throughout the week wasn't great, but hey you only spend a fraction of your time in them. Food was good on some nights (Spanish & Mexican particularly nice) but just average I'm afraid on others, with Asian night actually being poor. We went to the Italian once and it was dreadful!! Would not recommend it at alll. The small beach was just rammed so we only popped down there twice. It sounds like we had a dreadful time, but we didn't, my expectations were just much higher than the reality I founs. The Animation staff are EXCELLENT (particularly Deniz) as are all the life guards, waiters, waitresses and the restaurant managers. They really are the jewel in the crown for this hotel and I'm sure are what draws people back time and time again. The acts they bring in aren't great but I did like the fact the entertainment area was outside which was lovely. We met some lovely families there which have returned year on year. However I have to agree with a previous review about a number of British families who just let their kids run wild, day and night and frankly had no manners - that's no fault of the hotel but was unfortunately a fact. We've been to the Canaries the last few years and have to say we will be returning there rather than Majorca for our next hols. I'm sure that this hotel ticks the boxes for some but for me it was a bit of a let down I'm afraid :(More

Lovely hotel, shame about the chaos!

Just returned from a 2 week all inclusive family holiday feeling more tired than when we arrived! The hotel itself was lovely and spotlessly clean. The rooms are modern and comfortable with good facilities and cleaned daily. The food was superb and the restaurant staff were lovely which was a complete contrast to the staff on reception. 4 nights in to our holiday we decided we could no longer put up with the noise of children running up and down the stair well at midnight shouting to each other whilst their parents were totally oblivious to the fact their children were running riot so we decided to request to move rooms. I was offered no sympathy from the staff on reception even though we still had 10 nights to get through but were offered a new room and told to vacate our current room within 10 minutes! Avoid block 4 if you want to get any sleep once the entertainment has stopped or an early night as you can't rely on other guests to keep track of their children! There are 4 pools none of which really cater for small children and there are only 2 lifeguards making it impossible to prevent idiotic children bombing over the top of little ones whilst being watched by their own parents who don't seem to think this is not safe. When the life guard told the children to stop as it wasn't safe the parents just watched and said nothing! Unbelievable. At no point in the day could you relax by the pool and have a siesta! The sun bed issue was by far the worst I've ever experienced....if you didn't have your towel down by 6am you were unlikely to get a bed. Setting the alarm on holiday is the last thing anyone wants! The beach is the alternative but again it is packed by 10am and to get a decent spot you need to reserve the beds the day before...'sardines in a tin' is a phrase which springs to mind! We really had high hopes for this hotel as it's in such a lovely location and we could have just been unlucky with some of the guests we were surrounded by but the all day chaos and sun bed madness means I wouldn't recommend this hotel to families of young children or anyone wishing to have a relaxing holiday.More
