The Ferrera Blanca looks like it belongs in a glossy mag. Outside, it’s all white walls and blue-tinted glass. Inside, it’s just as contemporary, with a minimalist lobby and funky bar on the cards. Rooms are similarly sleek, and come with a balcony or terrace. Plus, you’ve got the option of upgrading to a suite. As for the buffet restaurant, it teams smart white walls and pillars with views over Cala Ferrera cove. It’s next to the main pool, which comes with a snack bar and terrace. From here, pop down the steps and you’ll be on Cala Ferrera beach in two minutes, or you can walk five more for the sands of Cala Serena.

We went for a half term break. Famiky of 3 with 9 year old. Weather was good apart from the storm on Tuesday affernoon. Staff work very hard and were very pleasant all the time. All inclusive deal gave oelnty of choices with 3 theme nights where waiters dressed up. Very impressed with all staff inclding receptionists Entertainment was ok and the kids entertainers were great for all ages. Cala dor itself was pretty much shut down for the season so not sure whats it like when it's busy. Nice break.More

Very good hotel - shame about the sun beds
We stayed at this hotel in July 2013 - a family of 2 adults and 1 child- in an apartment on all inclusive basis. The hotel was lovely and clean and modern, and set in really nice grounds in a very good location for both the beach and the centre of Cala D'Or. The staff were great - very friendly and helpful. The food was good quality and a good variety to choose from. The pools were lovely and warm. The only downside was the fact that if we wanted a sunbed we had to get up in the early hours to put towels down, to secure one. The hotel has a policy of not allowing this to happen, but no-one stopped it, despite towels being on some sun beds all day and no-one ever appearing. We only did the same because if we didn't there would be nowhere to sit, whilst our daughter was in the pool. There didn't seem to be enough sun beds or parasols for the amount of guests. This put a dampener the holiday for us, because we couldn't just get up when we wanted to. The pools also didn't open until 10am and closed at 6pm, which we found very strange. The pools are near to the restaurants, so this is probably why, but it's quite restrictive. Some of the rooms can be very noisy at night because of the entertainment, so if you want a quiet one, try and get one as far away from the stage as possible.More

Luckily everywhere in Mallorca is only around an hour away, so our transfer time wasn't too bad. We were greeted with drinks in reception by very friendly staff. The rooms are kept immaculately, and were cleaned daily to a very high standard. Note: hairdryers are supplied so save yourself some suitcase space! Having three pools in the resort prevented overcrowding, and the only disappointment of the entire holiday was that there wasn't a spot where you could enjoy the sun all day (but there's not much that can be done about that!) The food was fantastic, with plenty of variety and theme nights. I never went hungry as a vegetarian, and there was also a lovely Italian restaurant that you could opt to dine in. Snacks were available freely throughout the day, and even these were impressive in their quality and variety. The most important part of course is the drinks! Lovely cocktails on offer included under the all inclusive package, and the bars were always very well staffed. The staff at Ferrera Blanca cannot be faulted. From the restaurant to the bars, to the reception staff to the cleaners, every member of staff was friendly, chatty and could not do enough to ensure you enjoyed your stay. I've never known such fantastic service across the board and they genuinely enhanced the holiday. The entertainment was good, particularly the 80s night! And the entertainment team were also great fun with so much enthusiasm. It's definitely worth taking a trip to Palma one day and visiting the Cathedral, saving time for shopping after. We went to Ferrera Blanca mid October, and a word of warning is that it was slighly cooler than we had anticipated! I would absolutely visit this hotel again, I cannot fault a thing.More
