This sleek seafront hotel has 5 pools and direct access to one of best beaches in Majorca.
Minimal and modern are the first words that spring to mind when it comes to the Ferrera Blanca. Outside, it’s all white walls and blue-tinted glass. The bedrooms are just as contemporary and come with a balcony or terrace.
The hotel has 5 swimming pools set in well-tended gardens, and leads right onto the golden sands of Cala Ferrera beach. It’s also got 2 restaurants and a theatre bar.

From the staff, to the food, to the pools, it was just great. The room was a little dated and with 4 of us I was on the couch for the 2 weeks. They could do with family sized rooms. The kid's splash pool was amazing. There is a "bar" there serving food and cold drinks. Lifeguard on duty at all times too. Two different guys and one of them was a little over zealous. My 3 year old had a little speck of chocolate at the corner of his mouth and he stopped him going on the slide! Was coming up with all sorts of silly rules which weren't making the place safer, just annoying people. The food changed daily, there was a different paella, different types of fish and then various main meals. Desserts weren't great, very, very sweet, but they had a lot of variety and even a chocolate fountain every other night. The staff couldn't do enough to help out, they accommodated whatever we asked for if they could and were very warm and pleasant. The entertainment was surprisingly good. Although cheesy, it was enjoyable once you get involved. Overall we loved it. It was perfect for us with the kids being 1 and 3 and we would happily return next year. The area of Cala D'Or is really nice. There's loads for the kids (and older kids), plenty of beaches, all sorts of crazy golf and go-karts and a nice walk down to the main town. It's got every type of shop from your knock-off sunglasses to your higher end stuff. The marina is gorgeous and worth the visit. All in all a fantastic experience.More
Just returned form a great holiday at this hotel and cannot say one word against it. All staff were so very friendly, the choice of food was excellent , the cleaness of the rooms restaurants, bars and all the pool areas were all to a very high standard. We arrived in the middle of the night and there was a problem with our room but this was sorted out straight away, we also had a flood in the room clean towels and a maintance man arrived within 10 minuets. The only little niggle I have, if I have to be picky is that the pools were closed at 6pm which I feel is too early when it is still very hot and sunny until 8pm Would love to return next yearMore
Stayed for a week with my partner and our three year old. The room was great we stayed in block 10. The balcony was quite small but big enough for us. It also lost the sun on it around 12:30 most afternoons but that again didn't bother us as (being from Scotland) found sitting in the sun constantly wasn't much fun (neither was the sunburn). Not disrupted by noise of the road or hotels entertainment however noise did travel from neighbouring complex but nothing too major. We even had a rooster that loved to come and sunbathe right in front of the balcony too, which my daughter loved. Splash pool was great for kids, although some parents needed to be a bit more observant of their kids, some were really rowdy and rude even around the toddler shallow pool. Bigger pools were also nice too, a bit on the chilly side but they warm up once you acclimatise I guess. Food was decent too, staff made the place 100% better, BBQ night was the best. Would recommend sitting outside and having them serve food straight off the grill. Didn't visit the Italian restaurant, the bar service in their was a little iffy on our first day. Main entertainment was good, great activities for the kids and the entertainment staff were fab. We went a walk almost everyday and took the starfish boat to cala mondrago which was great. Ate out at the steak house round the corner from hotel one night too and it has a fab pic n mix shop below it which we visited a few times. Only thing which let us down were the bus transfers but this wasn't down to the hotel in anyway but Thomson holidays. Staff were fab when transfer didn't turn up on exit at 5 to 11. Honestly don't know what how we would have navigated that horrible experience without the reception staff on the night who called the taxi and arranged a copy of Thomson's time sheet and spoke to the driver to give us a receipt. All in all, we had a great time and would recommend this hotel for familys. People complaining about noisy children need to get a grip and not book a family orientated hotel, it's not easy holidaying with young children and people like you make it more stressful for already worked up parents. After recent trips to turkey it was nice to go back to Spain and be looked after by a hotel and it's amazing staff! You are treated well as soon as you get there and it continues until the last second you leave! Reception staff and cleaners always smile and acknowledged you, bar staff were fun, helpful and nothing was to much trouble for them, all done happily. Animation team were simply fantastic, they made our 3 year olds holiday and she hasn't stopped asking to go back since. Tete encouraged her without being pushy to take part and she befriended before long. Danni the entertainments team manager even travelled to the other side of the island to pick our girl a toy coco (hotel mascot) up which she has slept with ever since, we could not be thankful enough. Juan, Isa and the restaurant team are hard working and again so friendly and helpful. Wifi signal is superb everywhere around the hotel which was great in this day and age. Pools, rooms, location, food, safety, comfort and amenities all very good. Did have some change taken out of room but I left it on the table, wasn't much and assumed cleaners thought it was a tip so didn't complain, sure if I had it would have been returned but cleaners do a great job so was happy to let them have it however maybe a tip plate in rooms would stop any confusion. Wouldn't hesitate going back here.More
Visited for two weeks with my husband and 3 year old and my parents. Would definitely return! Animation Team: Made a HUGE effort with our daughter, especially on her birthday which she had while we were there. Dani does an amazing job of leading a great, friendly and hard working team. Not one of them was pushy in any way, they just made you aware of what was happening when, then left you to enjoy your day if you said no to an activity. Restaurant: Isa and Juan (managers) were again great and although busy at times, food was good. Theme nights were a lovely touch but International night wasn't up to much. We went to the Italian downstairs (no booking needed and you can visit as often as you like). Splash pool did chips, hotdogs, burgers and nuggets every day and we took pizza and sandwiches out the Italian some lunchtimes to eat by the pool so loads of options. Bars: All bar staff were so friendly and helpful and they give lollipops to the kids which was sweet. They could've done with opening the indoor bar where they had the footy on but it wasn't too far to walk. Pools/Beach: Not a fan of the beach. All the us beds were laid out in military fashion and only the ones at the very back, nowhere near the sea, were free which was not ideal with small kids. We bought a parasol and took towels down which was ok but it's not close enough to the hotel to walk back and use the amenities or pick up a drink which when all inclusive kind of defeats the object. All pools were great. We chose the one with the kids pool next to it which was really safe. Lifeguards were on duty all the time and previous guests left their inflatables and toys for other guests to enjoy. We also did the same and it never seemed busy or overcrowded. The splash pool is good and seems fairly new but we didn't really use this as our daughter preferred the other kids pool as it was quieter. Towels available for â¬10 deposit each for the pool. Room: We were offered an upgrade as soon as we arrived but having read other reviews, we declined this. We had a suite as did my parents and they were fab. Balconies were decent sizes, showers were powerful...we had a job convincing the little one to get in as she's only ever had baths but it was fine. We did get a top floor though which was up two flights of stairs and we struggled with the pushchair and no lift. I get the feeling if we'd have complained gets have moved us but we liked the view so decided to stay put. It was noisy but all entertainment stops no later than 11.30 and with an afternoon nap under our belts, this worked out fine with our little girl. Location: A short walk to bars, funfair, mini golf, a land train which goes round Cala D'Or for â¬4 or â¬2 one way... Good way to get your bearings but you could actually walk to most places if you wanted to. We also got the bus on Saturday to Santanyi market which was â¬1.85 return, took about 45 minutes and gave us a few hours in a typical Spanish market town. Same old rubbish/fake designer gear really but there are probably some bargains to be had if you want to haggle. There's also some nice traditional stuff if you look properly. The resort is spread out over quite a number of blocks and crosses a fairly busy road but we personally liked this as it made things seem less hectic and busy even when one of he weeks was a half term week for some northerners. We would definitely return here in the future and having been to another hotel in the same group (MarHotels- we went to the Condesa de la Bahia) we were not disappointed. For those who have early or late flights and horrible transfer collection times, there are lovely courtesy showers, where toiletries and towels are all provided and I'm sure there were hair dryers too so think and look before you fork out for a late check out! We got picked up around 4.40am and there was a room behind reception where coffees, teas, orange juice, water and cakes, bread, cheeses etc were provided so they looked after us right up to the last minute!
