The Melia Buenavista has snagged a whole trio of white-sand beaches. You won’t have to share them either, thanks to the away-from-it-all location.
The beach is the centre of attention at the adults-only Melia Buenavista. The property’s surrounded by sandy coves, so you’ll have no problem finding your own patch to stretch out on.
The diving is top-notch – don a mask and you can snorkel right off the beach. The highly-polished interiors mean looks is another thing this place has going for it.

Paradise on earth!
The most stunning location with three white sandy beaches, snorkelling from the beach, two beautiful pools, very spacious accommodation, 8' double bed, whirlpool bath, every comfort imaginable, including own private 'butler'. Staff were all very attentive, friendly and helpful. There are only 105 rooms in this resort, adults only, so it was very peaceful, tranquil. The most wonderful place I have ever spent time in.More
My 6-night stay at Melia Buenavista in Cayo Coco was most enjoyable, it truly is a 5-star resort. This was apparent in its infrastructure, the many standard after-hours services but especially in the demeanour of ALL staff who were not only prompt and professional but friendly and warm.More
Just back from our 4th visit to Buenavista!
January we came back from our 4th visit to Melia Buenavista in Cayo Santa Maria. We always enjoy this resort and will continue a yearly visit back - can't wait til January 2018 to go again! The hotel is clean, great food (al la cart 3 meals daily) with a small buffet at breakfast and lunch if you like. They serve excellent food at the grill for lunch - great pizzas, kabobs, hamburgers etc The workers are all friendly and very helpful - special thanks to our friends, Lester, Oresto Osmany at the pool bar! And extra special thanks to our butlers, Edel and Gerado - can't wait to see you all again! This is a quieter, smaller resort which is perfect for us! There is a market, Pueblo Estrella, close by - you can take a taxi, or a bus - great place to go spend half a day for shopping, eating and shows.More
Just back from 6 days at this lovely resort. We were so happy with our choice. The tranquility and quality of the experience was brilliant. The rooms are huge, in private villas set in spacious gardens. We had an amazing view of the ocean. The three beaches are white sand, gorgeous, lots of shaded lounging areas and terrific safe and easy snorkeling. So many fish it was crazy. The limited number of rooms and the spacious grounds give you such a sense of quiet and privacy. Its certainly not designed for a party-party crowd but still enough going on to be interesting. The food (which had been a concern) was beyond expectations. Cuba isnât at a Hawaii level yet but there was always fresh salad for lunch, excellent fish beautifully cooked and then great lobster for dinner â plenty of meat options plus the poolside BBQ for snacks. The staff were all amazing. Everyone worked so hard to give you the best possible time and were always friendly, cheerful, polite and helpful, from the front desk to the beach. The restaurant staff were efficient and engaging and the spa staff very good as well. This is a very well run resort and the perfect choice for a quiet, relaxing vacation. Canât wait to go back.More
High quality resort with wonderful facilities
The hotel is quieter than other resorts close by - no children and fewer tours. The other resorts seemed to be catering more for the tour companies so were much noisier and active. There is a bus service linking all the resorts so it is possible to visit bars and restaurants in the others, if you need to. We stayed very happily at Buenavista! The rooms are high standard and the staff cleaned and preapred the rooms each day to an impeccable standard. Lovely beaches and as the resort is all inclusive, the beach bar was a constant temptation...! Food was generally good and on one night dinner was served around the main pool which was very enjoyable as the food was very enjoyable, there were no insects biting and the group of young musicians were very good. Lunch was at the pizza/snack bar and although this could have become a bit repetitive, we enjoyed it for the four days we stayed. The pizza oven is a real wood burner. The resort was great for chilling out and the beaches were very clean and not at all busy. Electrical supply is 220 volts with universal sockets taking both US and European plugs. Be careful on the wet tiles especially outside the shower as they are very slippery when wet. The main negative for us was the large number of flies in the breakfast buffet restaurant - a couple of electrical fly killers would have been good. That said, the food and drink manager is aware and is working hard with his team to improve the standards.More
