The Melia Buenavista has snagged a whole trio of white-sand beaches. You won’t have to share them either, thanks to the away-from-it-all location.
The beach is the centre of attention at the adults-only Melia Buenavista. The property’s surrounded by sandy coves, so you’ll have no problem finding your own patch to stretch out on.
The diving is top-notch – don a mask and you can snorkel right off the beach. The highly-polished interiors mean looks is another thing this place has going for it.

Just came back from a week at the resort first week of June. Resort is well kept and grounds are clean and well maintained. Rooms are a plus as they are a great size (ocean view room). Service is wonderful overall and all staff are very friendly. If you don't like quiet resorts, this may not for you. Never have to rush to reserve loungers on the beach, it sometimes feels like you have a private beach and resort even! You do have the option to travel to the other larger Melia resorts and do activities and eat at their restaurants/buffets via a shuttle that runs regularly throughout the entire day. Special thanks to beach bartender Andrés who was absolutely tremendous, he was very friendly and hardworking throughout the entire week. He's always running up and down the beach in 35 degree weather making sure we always had drinks. Thank you also to Willians who walks with you and preps your beach loungers every morning and takes vacationers snorkelling. Lester at the pool bar was also very attentive and wonderful anytime we spent time at pool. Please pass along our thanks to them. Just a friendly reminder to make sure lock your valuables in the safe before you leave your room as our camera went missing when we forgot one day to lock it in the safe. We also didn't get much follow up about it when we reported it. This is the only thing that prevented a 5 star rating. Brian and Desmond from TorontoMore
My home away from home
All I can say is it's my little piece of paradise Orestes, Osmani, Lester and Laly are the most loving hard working people I have ever encountered They make me feel like the only person at the resort All of the Buenavista people are like my children I will always go back to my special little piece of paradise Thank you all from the bottom of my heart See you soon DivaMore
Awesome getaway at a very peaceful and posh resort
My wife and I spent 4 days at the Melia Buenavista and we had an awesome time. Upon arrival the staff welcomed us with champagne and took us on a quick tour of the resort which didn't take too long because the resort is relatively small. It was extremely peaceful, and you often feel as if your the only person there. The location is excellent and you have access to 3 beaches. The main beach in Cayo Santa Maria and 2 other small beach areas ideal for snorkelling. The staff throughout the resort were amazing they really made you feel as if you were the only person at the resort. The pool bar was excellent and that they were so we courteous, professional and welcoming all at the same time. One of the great benefits of being at the Melia Buenavista is you get full access to the other Melia's via free shuttle bus. If you want to experience a much larger and busier resort the other Melia's are just a short 5 minute shuttle ride away. The food is really as good as it's going to get in Cuba, but the service you receive along with the beautiful beaches and cleanliness of the resort over compensated for anything they may have lacked in food quality.More
What a beautiful place to vacation! The atmosphere at the resort is amazing. The beaches are spectacular with 3 to choose from and the gardens are meticulously taken care of. The 2 pools are clean and refreshing with wonderful bartenders who check on you constantly (you never go without a drink). Very quiet resort, not overcrowded and there is some type of entertainment every night from live bands to spectacular water shows. The best part of this resort is the staff! Special thanks to my butlers Geraldo and Dayni who made us feel special and helped create amazing memories. The bar staff who makes sure your always taken care of, special thanks to Joan (Jo-han) who is amazing at his job and an absolute pleasure to talk to. And the best pool staff from the bartenders to the outdoor food station (who serves great pizza made fresh and cooked in a stone oven) and I could not forget Livan, who took special care of us and we looked forward to seeing him every morning for a great conversation. The cleaning staff also was very attentive and would leave beautiful towel designs for you everyday. We are hoping one day to return to Melia Buenavista and would recommend this resort to anyone. NOTE: If you do decide to visit please tip generously (whether money or gifts), the staff does not expect it but they work very hard to make your stay memorable and they deserve it.More
Awesome snorkeling, awesome people!
My wife and I had a great time at Melia Buenavista! It was our second visit, and just as good as the first! We requested a pool view room, and lucked out to have Gerardo as our butler again! Great service, and the room was fantastic and immaculately maintained, lovely little touches from the turn down service (towel dog, towel swan, etc.). We loved the food - special shout out to the pizza guys at the pool bar, and Navagentes for a la carte dining! Breakfast was great too. We really want to thank Andres at the beach bar, he took great care of us, and was always happy and friendly, even when he had to run back and forth in the hot sand to bring us our drinks on the 35C+ days! Also, a special thanks to Saily and Joan who took great care of us at the Lobby bar! For those who have never been to this resort, you can't go wrong with this small, Adult's only resort. The beaches (that's right - 3 beaches) are fantastic, and you can walk for mile, or swim/snorkel to your hearts content, or just simply sit on the beach under the umbrellas (everyone gets their own!) and stare out at the ocean. The chairs are arranged in single file, so there's never anybody lounging between you and the ocean! The pools are great, the lazy river style pool is great for quiet, or an early morning workout, whereas the main pool is a little more lively and right next to the bar! All 3 restaurants are great, and you can easily skip lunch at the a la carte and just go for a fantastic pizza or burger/sausage at the outdoor grill by the main pool. The staff there was great and took awesome care of us, and we can't wait to go back! Susan and Lee from CanadaMore
