Hotel Barcelo Fuerteventura Thalasso Spa

This beachside hotel comes with a duo of pools and restaurants, and it’s big on activities, too.

There are 2 lagoon pools and 2 restaurants – 1 does buffets, the other is a speciality grill. You’ve also got an A to Z of activities, while in the evening there’s entertainment in the theatre.

Location-wise, this hotel hits the right spot. It’s right on a sandy beach, and it’s just a few minutes’ walk from shops and bars in the centre of Costa Caleta.

Another fabulous holiday!!!!!

Arrived home last Wednesday after another 11 night stay in this gorgeous hotel! My self and my partner discovered this treasure last year and have stayed here ever since when visiting Fuerteventura. On arrival check i was extremely quick which was excellent. The rooms as so comfortable and many have been refurbished, painted and new wooden flooring compared to our previous visit. We stayed in block 2 which some rooms were still being re-furbished whilst we were there. I must say Barcelo have done a very very good job with the tasteful decor. The food in the restaurant was just as good as last time, lots of lovely things to eat always, everything from salads to steak, king prawns and fish to veggies and veal. Something for everyone. What i must say though....what really makes the hotel and the main reason why we keep going back...its not just us that say this too its the other holiday makers that comment on it also....its the staff!!!! They are excellent, friendly, attentive and always smiling. Everyone from the maids to the cleaners, to the bar staff. Special mention to Alexis and Yasmir! Fabulous bar staff and so funny, friendly and really make our holidays. The entertainment was just as fab too. The entertainment team do an excellent job involving everyone in the activites and not so they are laid like solar panels on the sun beds for the whole of their holidays! Another special mention to an excellent singer who entertained us during our stay and the special "White Party" which was by the pool on an evening was Kennie Delaine!! Fabulous guy with a weicked sense of humour! If your thinking of booking this hotel for your holiday...do it you so wont regret it and it will be money well spent and give you excellent memories of a fabulous holiday in the sun and of a hotel thats right on the beach too!!!More

Excellent Sized premium hotel

Stayed here in 2014 and myself and more importantly my kids loved every minute of their stay. First time in ages that I felt my stay was too short at a hotel. Kids club was fantastic and made my kids feel special. Other guests kids were also very friendly towards all children within the kids club, the staff obviously teach the kids to respect each other when they are under their care. Looking forward to returning in 2016 as are my kids.More

excellent hotel and facilities

this was a fanstasic holiday for me and my girlfriend, we wanted a nice relaxing holiday away from everything and got it with this hotel. the hotel and the rooms were very clean and tidy even for the size of the complex. the food was of a good standard with a lot of variety and good selection for fussy eaters. the pool area had plenty of space to sit and relax either in shade or in the open sun, with two large pools and a childrens pool to relax around. the pools are salt water so be prepared but you get use to it very quickly. one of the pools is heated but even the other is not too bad. the restaurant is self service and we were there all inclusive so drinks were waiter service at dinner time. the food was always replensihed regularly and cooked to a good standard, lots of different themes running throughout the week. the deserts were a bit to be desired but that only because there was no jam roly poly and custard lol. the entertainment team work tirelessly all day and evening, welcoming people to dinner, games throughout the day and shows in the evening, we were particularly impressed with there rendition of Cats. lots of cocktails are included in the all inclusive and water is alwasy available. there is free wifi which works well in hotel reception and around the pool in places so dont bother paying just sit in reception to check messages, emails, facebook etc... will definatley be going back for a longer time as was only there a week and looking to get it booked up as i type this out, loved the entire trip, thank you to all the staff for thereMore

Good Holiday- Many Good points, Some things to be aware of

We have just returned from 2 weeks AI in this hotel. I travelled with my husband, and 2 small children. The hotel is big (which i knew before I went). I was happy with the room, plenty big enough for 3 beds and a cot space. You have a bathroom with normal and rain shower over a bath, and a separate dressing area, which was really useful, esp during bath time. We also had a lovely view of the kids area, pool and beach to the side which we did not pay extra for. I read reviews about the food being 'cold' before we went but the food in the main resturant was great. A good selection, and never had a cold meal, although did eat mostly from the carved meat and fish stations which were great. Pretty poor selection of desert though. Breakfast was also good, british sausages and the 'omlet station' were our fav's. We had lunch most of the time in the Aloe snack bar next to the pool, and this food was not hot, unless you were lucky enough to be there as they were serving - this does need improving. The pool areas were clean, and the big pool by the aloe bar was slightly heated, which was great esp if there was cold wind. The pools were very popular, and this was one of the things that i did not like about this holiday. The are rows and rows of sunlonugers, with no space in between. Be prepared to have people sunbathe very close to you as there is no room to spare. This is true around all of the pools. There are a line of sunbeds around the baby pool, with no shade, and then a few unbrellas behind this. You would have to squeeze through to get into the pool at times. I did not like this, as used to more privacy. I undertsand that there will be others sunbathing around you, but people were squeezing around one umbrella (behind, infront, by the side) because the just wasnt enough. This did let it down for me. The staff were excellent, everywhere we went, pleasant, happy and polite. Always saying 'Hello' even the cleaners. The animation team were fantastic and the family shows were funny and entertaining. My 3 year old loved the mini disco and the shows at night! The resort is not as nice as the resorts down south (Jandia is much much nicer), and whilst the promande/harbour was nice to walk along, I was really let down by the beach. Very rocky, could not go in the sea without shoes. If you like a beach holiday, go down south of the island to morro Jable/Janda as they have amazing white sandy beaches. Overall, we enjoyed our holiday and had a good time, but probably would not go again as would prefer a smaller hotel (apparantly this is the biggest on the island) and a better resort.More

Amazing Hotel , Lovely Holiday

I visited this hotel on 25th June until 2nd July all inclusive. After our early flight my daughter and I arrived at midday, checked in and got to our superior room and unpacked by 1pm . We had a brilliant relaxing holiday . I have read a couple of the lastest reviews and can't understand why these people are so negative however as they say you can't please everyone. The hotel is spotlessly clean, food is amazing with lots of choice, be prepared to gain a few pounds . The main pool at the pool bar is busy with different games going on and there was music but I never felt it was too loud at any point . You can choose to sit at the other pool which is quieter though. We never once got up to reserve a sunbed and we got two at the pool every morning around 10.30am , the hotel has a policy not to reserve but it does happen, definately harder for beds under parasols as they must go early. We never heard any noise at night and we were in block 2, room 2130 which was a great room . Room cleaned daily, fresh towels etc. Bathrobes and slippers are a nice touch. The beds are super comfy , best ever for a great nights sleep. Staff were friendly, polite and happy to be there. I travel quite a bit and have stayed in other 4 star hotels and this one is definately up at the top for me. All in all a brilliant holiday, loved this hotel and would definately be back when back in the resort NB I didn't stay in a ground floor room with Jacuzzi they did look nice and with blinds for privacy , however there are no blinds on the roof area therefore people staying above you could look down into that area. Please don't be put off with a couple of bad reviews, enjoy your holiday and if you need Company I will be more than happy to come . More
