Southern Palms
The Southern Palms is made up of 2-storey thatched-roof buildings set in tropical gardens. Inside, the bedrooms come with hand-carved canopy beds and Swahili-style wooden recliners on the balcony. Outside, 2 supersized pools wind their way through the greenery and tick off a swim-up bar at each. As for the beach, there's a stretch of bone-white sand just a minute's walk from the main pool. The exotic scene is finished off by thatched sunshades and a sand-side bar that looks over the Indian Ocean.

Amazing Kenya!!!!
Very Nice Place to be.... Hotel was good and the personal working inside where very very nice. We would choose next time this Hotel again. What could be better in the future, is to seperate the Hotel Beach from the annoying beach Boys. Food was also quite good, the kitchen team were always willing to offer different styl of Food. Here I would give some thanks to Hussein, Constant(Mr. Fruity) and Said R. Also a Big thanks to Isaac.More

Great relaxing stay
Stayed for two weeks in May 2013. The weather was very variable, it rained for 2 days straight when we arrrived but after that it never rained for more than an hour or two every couple of days. The beds are a little hard for my liking and the music is very loud and plays until 11pm every night. Those are the only negative points I can make. The food is excellent; the fish is particularly good, as are the numerous stir fry dishes which they do. Breakfast is repetitive but there is enough variety to stop it being boring. The staff are really good. Hussein makes such an effort to keep everything perfect, even learning everyones' names so that he can say 'hi' to them. The main bar bartender, Edward, is very friendly and the other staff are always insisting that you are on holiday and shouldn't carry your drinks anywhere and that they should serve you. The swimming pools are great for keeping cool; it was nice being there when everything was quiet, we often had one of the pools to ourselves but at the expense of the swim-up bar being closed. All in all a very relaxing holiday, just what we needed.More

The Best
I have just returned home from the best two week holiday I have ever had. I went all-inclusive and the food was excellent, beautifully presented by very friendly and helpful staff. After a long trip into the resort during some of the wettest weather Kenya has seen for a long time, the welcome was second to none and the room I was allocated was beautiful. It was at the start of the quiet season when we arrived but the hospitality and friendliness of the staff can not be beaten, from the front desk welcome to Duke that used to bring fresh flowers daily to the rooms.! (He also climbed the palm trees to bring you fresh coconut!!) The Animation team were hard working and excellent and if you did get a bit fed up laying about on sunbeds, there was always something going on from volleyball (beach or pool) to beach walks and Charlie's " wake up, wake ups" to get everyone going were second to none. Juma, Charlie, Grace, Champagne and Rachid of the animation were very hard working and very entertaining!!!! All the pool staff were very helpful and clean beach towels were put on our sunbeds every morning... Thank you Lancaster. The bar staff soon got to know your name and drinks, and it was really refreshing NOT to have to drink your all-inclusive drink out of the small plastic cups that most AI hotels offer....A large ice-cold bottle of Tusker goes down a treat!!! I do recommend going out for an evening for a meal at Ali Babas followed by drinks at the forty thieves which is a fantastic beach bar only a five minute cab ride away. I did try the local eateries including Swahili pot for true Kenyan dining, Kenyan style and Kim for love on the weekends to see a few bands. The hotel was spotlessly clean and very comfortable, with friendly staff and I really hope to see them all again within the year!!! I thoroughly recommend this hotel xxxMore

Lovely hotel with friendly staff
We stayed at Southern Palms for 2 weeks in early May 2013, on a half board basis. We really loved the hotel, the staff were all friendly and welcoming (in particular Hussein, he made a real effort to ensure that we had a fabulous holiday), and the food was excellent. We regret not going all inclusive, because there wasn't anywhere else to go for a meal/drink, so we ended up buying food and drinks at the hotel anyway. The animation team were enthusiastic, and tried to encourage everyone to get involved in the activities (beach walks, water volleyball etc). I would strongly recommend Southern Palms to anyone.More

Excellent !! A fantastic holiday
A great great holiday, even with two days of torrential rain... Just returned from a week in Southern Palms Hotel, it was great in every way to the extent that even with many other options we are hoping to return here for two weeks in September 2014. The staff at this hotel are amazing, nothing is too much trouble. Will not name names however everyone we spoke to was polite and courteous and eager to please and to be lying by the pool and someone come and ask if you if want a drink and then bring it to you.. Wow! The rooms are immaculate, do not need updating (It is Kenya!!). The hotel is in top standard condition. The pools were very clean with staff working non stop to ensure the standard everywhere is maintained. The food and drink was all good, lots of options at each meal, all fresh and healthy. Yes there are people bugging you to buy on the beach, as another review said if you pick your times & are accompanied it is not a problem. There was lots to be entertained by, however doing nothing (which is what we did) was also accepted, not hassled to join in (despite Charlie waking you up from your poolside naps!!!) We experienced no problems during our stay, however I fully anticipate that they would have been resolved as quickly as possible. This is a fantastic hotel for a holiday in Kenya. We thoroughly enjoyed!! Thank you :)More
