This away-from-it-all place has great views, plenty of pools and a beach on tap.
This place is split into 2 – the clifftop Cala Verde and beach-side Cala Blanca – in quiet Es Figueral. Lots of pools and a clutch of bars and restaurants are divvied up between both places.
A kids’ splash park, adults-only pool and chillout area are 3 of the highlights here. An extra bonus is the free shuttle bus to local towns and markets. And the beach is a 5-minute walk away.

My husband and I visited the hotel for a week in July-14 with our 19 month old son. This was his first holiday abroad so we were apprehensive about how he would settle. We opted for a superior room and were delighted with the space/decor and a bonus was having a stunning sea view. A travel cot had been placed in the room for our arrival and the sheets were made up and changed daily. The hotel grounds were well maintained and the hotel was well presented at all times. The staff work tirelessly to ensure the hotel is clean and the guests are looked after. The room was cleaned daily and was spotless on arrival. We had an issue with the fridge in our room and the hotel arranged for a brand new one to be delivered that day. The staff provided us with fresh milk to give our son a bottle in the morning and evening and there was a microwave in the dining area to heat any baby food. The supermarket sells baby food if you struggle to get your baby to eat any of the food. There is so much food to choose from and it is of a good standard. All in all we really enjoyed our stay. The only minor inconvenience if traveling with an infant who needs a buggy is the stairs. However, the staff are happy for you to leave your buggy at the reception and collect it daily if you choose this option. We visited the Cala Blanca hotel and this hotel seems more "buggy friendly" as there are ramps everywhere. I think it there were a couple more ramps in the Cala Verde hotel it would help alleviate this issue. Pirate Island is fantastic for the kids and well worth a visit as the water is so shallow that it's safe enough for toddlers to paddle around in. Again the staff here serving snacks are very efficient and friendly. The beach is beautiful and the views are breathtaking. Would definitely recommend a visit to this hotel.More

Stayed at this hotel for a week in June 2014, bright sea view room, clean and well decorated and the maid service was excellent! Food was brilliant, excellent breakfasts, multi choice lunches and themed dinners. Staff friendly especially bar staff Toni and Yama. The Sangria demonstration on Thursday afternoon around the pool by two guys dressed as women is a must see - hilarious! Mixy mixy !! Brilliant !!!!! Pirate Island water park is tops for the kids and Mini and Maxi club is tops. Night entertainment is not so hot and flies in and around the restaurant are a nuisance! Wifi is not free and is expensive! All in all 9 out of 10 for a very good family hotel. Would I go back - you bet. We had 2 rooms 4 adults and an 8 year old child.More
just returned from this hotel which I stumbled across on internet and im so glad I did the hotel is on a hillside but its not to bad to get to beach unless you have a disability or are elderly the views are amazing only downside is you have to pay for lounger and parasol as beach isn't owned by hotel 7 euros for the day now the positives the staff are amazing always smiling and helpful one of them is excellent with the kids think he was called alek great fun at it all day with kids having fun the drinks are excellent I was having ameretto and coke all week with the odd cocktail which was not watered down as you would expect pool is lovely with plenty of loungers the entertainment on the evening was really good for the kids plenty of new songs learned would recommend a trip to santa eularia on the free bus but you have to book it the day before as it gets full there is also a spar supermarket next to the beach which is good for inflatables and water guns the pirate ship is in the sister hotel next door but it was quite scary for my 4 year old as water comes out fast and cold so we never went back finally the food well its amazing loads of choice lots of fish dishes and sparkling wine for breakfast cant wait to go backMore

We have just returned from a two week stay at the Cala Blanca. Can't fault our holiday at all. We have two boys aged 4 and 1 and they both had a fab time. our 4 year old just loved the Mini club. Which ran from 10am till 1pm and 4pm till 6. We spent most of our time at the pirate ship pool where our 1 year old was able to run about in and out the pool as it is shallow and the poolside is not slippy which is great. The food was excellent, most nights were themed and there was plenty on offer too. We had breakfast in the marina restaurant where they cooked fresh omelets. The best thing about this hotel is animation staff. They are so good at what they do. They keep the kids happy and the entertainment is perfect for a family holiday. Room was clean and comfortable. Would definitely go back to the Cala Blanca. Looking at prices for next year. More

Too far out and not made for prams
We stayed here for a week in June 2014. We arrived after 10pm so the restaurant was closed, but Reception had âlunch bagsâ with juice, water, fruit, pastries and water in. We checked in and were taken to our room via a golf buggy. The room was clean and we had the bonus of a sea view, but it was quite basic. The TV was terrible and the only English speaking channel was the news one, which wasnât great for us travelling with two young children (two and a half / just one). The next morning we got up and made our way to breakfast. This is where we found a problem - as we were travelling with a tandem pram. We got a lift down to the ground floor, and then had to carry the pram with both children in, down two small flights of stairs. Following that, we had to walk down a very steep hill before we got to the main reception / restaurant area â meaning every journey back to the room was up a steep hill and meant lifting the pram back up the two flights of stairs. We did consider asking to change rooms, but having looked at the other room blocks, all were either up or down some sort of stairs. The restaurant was clean, well presented and the staff was really friendly and helpful. There is a good choice of food for each meal, but the evening choice doesnât change much throughout your stay. If you like seafood then youâll be fine, again travelling with two young children it wasnât easy. Our eldest lived off chips for a week. There is a snack hut on the way to the beach that serves purely pizza and hot dogs, but there isnât anything else in the way of snacks throughout the day. For anyone travelling with babies, they will provide jars of baby food if you ask. There is also a microwave which you can use to warm up your own. If you're going out for the day you can book lunch packs at reception the day before. The pool area is lovely and the view over the sea is what makes the hotel. You will need to get there early to get a decent sun bed. People leave their towels and reserve spaces as early as 8.00am. You can make your way to the beach by walking down a very steep hill. Again the beach is lovely and there is a toilet and shower on the path down to it. There isnât anywhere to buy drinks / snacks whilst you are down there so take them with you or it means walking back up to the hotel. Also, the sunbeds on the beach donât belong to the hotel, so these will cost you. Night entertainment is ok. Our children loved the mini disco which was on for 30 minutes each night â I canât comment on the kids club as this isnât something we used. For the adult entertainment, you will find that one night it is a professional act hired in, and the next night it is the hotel staff putting on a show. Other than the mini disco there isnât anything in the hotel / nearby outside to keep young children occupied. Thatâs my view of the hotel generally. Personally, it was way too far out for us. We wanted somewhere where we could walk out at night and have a meal (eating breakfast, lunch and dinner in the same restaurant for seven days can get a little tiresome). Santa Eulalia is a good 15 minute drive away. The hotel offer two complimentary trips down there each day, apart from on a Sunday (you have to book the day before). The last coach back is 1900 (which is too early if you would look to have dinner etc). A taxi is around 15 euros each way (if youâre travelling with children beware â some taxis will not take you if they donât have the correct car seats with the new laws that have been brought in). Also, the coach collects you from the âbus stopâ outside the sister hotel (which reception failed to tell us so we missed the first one). The hippy market is definitely worth a trip to. Again, the hotel offers a paid coach trip to this, which is free on a Saturday. We also booked the sunset cruise trip via our rep, which was brilliant and I would definitely recommend it. There are daily ferry rides you can book from the beach, but these are not cheap and work out at around 30 euro pp. Finally - the pirate ship, adult only area and indoor pool all belong to the sister hotel next door. This wasnât a huge problem, but all are a good 5 â 10 minute walk away (not great when travelling back with children who are damp from the pool and you are carrying towels / inflatableâs etc). All in all, a little over priced and not what we were expecting. There is nothing âwrongâ with the hotel, but we wonât be going back.More
