Travelled for 2 weeks mid January to celebrate my husband's 50th birthday & we couldn't have chosen a better place. Food was superb, staff were very friendly & could not do enough for you. We truly felt very special & that we were being looked after by everyone, from our room maid (who left a handwritten birthday message for my hubby), to the beach boys on the adult only beach where we spent most of our time & the bar staff. There was a bottle of sparkling wine & sweet treats delivered to our room on the day we arrived & on the birthday itself we were given a special table at breakfast & hubby was serenaded too! We had already booked a table for dinner at the seafood restaurant & were given a table out on the sand & a birthday cake too. It was certainly a birthday to remember. We were all inclusive which is definitely the way to go or the food & drink costs could rack up quite quickly & significantly. They are currently having a major refurbishment & now closed until the end of the year. We hope to be able to go again but suspect the prices for the newly refurbished hotel will be out of our league, however we will always have the wonderful memories they helped us create on this trip. A massive thank you to the hotel & all their staff, who are a credit to them.More
We spent 7 nights at Lux Grand Gaube as our honeymoon and had an amazing time! The location is beautiful with the blue lagoon and all the palm trees and banyan trees make the place very special. The food was fantastic with so much choice to choose from and the a'la carte restaurants are great! We were on a half board plan and were a bit disappointed to realise that evening drinks are not included so we always had to pay for those seperate. Our room was very clean however they are currently not up to the 5 star standard, but I am sure that the upcoming 6 month closure and refurbishment will improve the quality of the hotel to a very high level. The beach is very calm and quiet however if you are into snorkelling, it's not the best place for it as the water is not crystal clear and you can't see the bottom once the water reaches up to the hip. The water sport facilities are great and the staff is really helpful. We loved the spa, the gym and made good use of the tennis courts too. We went on a cycling trip around the nearby villages and stopped to feed a giant turtle as well which was a great experience. The staff around the whole resort is extremely friendly and helpul - I would like to say thank you to Fahiim for being so nice during our meals and to Pravesh for the superb room service and amazing towel creations! Overall we would strongly recommend the resort and will be a true 5 star hotel once the refurb is done! We hope to return soon.More

The best of time
I had a really nice time at the hotel, the staff was just superb, the a la carte lunch and dinner was delicious, the coffee and ice cream was just marvelous. I would definitely recommend this hotel for any occasion. Thx to the staff who made my stay there (roshi, ajay, anne sophie, the head barista, nooranee, ... everyone)More
We stayed for 4 nights at the end of April beginning May. Unfortunately the weather was terrible and it rained nearly non-stop. Nevertheless the resort did it's best to try and make up for this. The drinks evening was excellent although the snacks were a bit inadequate. The rooms are decent although they are showing their age - but this will be rectified with the upcoming renovation I believe. The Tree of Wishes is a nice idea. The Spa was excellent and the spa garden a lovely retreat. We were unable to do much outdoor activity or restaurants with the weather but we did make use of the beach which i found excellent and some water equipment which was fine. The breakfast and dinner I can't really find any fault with and must compliment our waiter Diren for going above and beyond with the service. Would definetely like to return when there's sunshine on the island. As with everything in Mauritius though any extras are way overpriced however that's common to all the resorts. More
