Large decent 4*
Very large nice hotel close to a few shops and bars. English bar across the road and a McDonalds, KFC and Hard Rock Café 5 mins walk away. Although we only went out a few times, never really felt comfortable walking around, they like to approach you to try and sell things. We stayed as a family of 4 in block 3, August 2015. Nice position, close to the pool area and very quiet in the evening. Would probably ask for the same area again if return. Weather was very hot but bearable, kids found it fine. Pools were great with 2 slides at one end. Could be quite busy at times with children running around without shoes on (floor very hot!!). If you got a sunbed in the right place you were ok. Great waiter service around the pool, drinks even when you didn't want one. Did not come across anyone who seemed to only want a tip. We only tipped a few people and they were genuinely grateful, they are paid very little and rely on tips. The pool towel staff were very good and would put your towels down for you. Always chirpy and happy to help if you had a problem with your sunbed. Pool closed a few times due to someone's mishap but never for long. Didn't use the quiet pool near block 10, didn't look as nice and no entertainment or activities. Aquafit was great every day before lunch, James made it very entertaining. Beach was very hard to walk on as little pebbles and not soft sand. We used to have a walk down the jetty after lunch to see the fish and get a little exercise after sitting all day on the sunbed! Not many people seemed to use the beds on the beach as it was so hot and no pool to dive in to for a cool down. Sea was very warm. Temperature showed 45 on the beach hut on some days, but the heat was bearable. Just make sure you apply good suntan lotion and a high factor. This was the first time I have any bought anything above factor 15, but you definitely need it. Could do with more toilets a little closer to the pool!! Drinks - Beer was ok. Lobby bar did have bottles which I preferred. Only gripe was that the water was always warm so you needed ice in your water. They could do with bottles in the fridge. Large containers are left out in the heat and are then used to fill the water dispenser, so it was always warm. Diet coke etc was ok. As usual you got plastic glasses by the pool but proper glasses in the lobby bar. Sports bar ok if there was a match on but very very dark in there. Entertainment - First Choice Live and Loud was great as always. Kept the kids entertained, only problem was it was in the amphitheatre which was by the beach and drinks served from the pool bar, plastic and warm! It was quite a walk back to the lobby bar if you have had enough of the entertainment, made worse by the fact that our room was near the amphitheatre so had to walk all the way back again. Not a problem but a bit of a pain. A nice touch was that they served candy floss (free) next to the amphitheatre, be warned though, once its gone that's it. Amphitheatre was hot and not very comfortable, stone steps to sit on and nothing to lean against unless you got the top row. There were cushions but the kids just used to take them and pile them up as a game!!! The lobby bar could do with some kind of music or light entertainment as no atmosphere. The terrace bar was nice as lit up vey nice and nice furniture. We sometimes had to alternate between the lobby bar and the terrace bar as the lobby was freezing, used to go outside on the terrace bar to warm up!! There is an indoor room which would be perfect for the evening entertainment, apparently they only use this in the winter!! I think it should be the other way around. Food - the evening we arrived we had a lovely meal as it was Asian night, curry and rice was really tasty. So we were looking forward to the other evenings but felt a little disappointed. Food was okay but seemed to be very much the same all the time. I liked how you could get pannini and pizza made to order and pasta station was good and also made fresh in front of you. The salad bar was not as good as other hotels we have visited, very limited and seemed to taste a little funny. Daughter lived on bread rolls, chips and cucumber! Puddings very strange some days, they all tasted the same. Ice cream man was good. The main restaurant seemed very noisy and busy. We always seemed to get next to loud children. We used the vouchers to visit the Asian restaurant. Food was good and it made a nice change to sit quietly to eat. The snack bar was quite good for burgers chips etc. but very limited choice. Good for the kids if they were hungry early. Rooms - found the rooms to be lovely. The biggest bed I have ever seen and really comfy. Kids beds weren't so good but ok for what we needed. Air con was good and could control it well. Bathroom nice with large walk in shower. TV had some English football channels and kids cartoon channels so everyone happy with that. Fridge and tea/coffee, cleaner left 2 big bottles of water every day. Cleaner was great introduced himself when we arrived and made sure everywhere was spotless. Even left us some amazing towel art and a treasure hunt for the kids to find some chocolate he left. We did tip him half way through the holiday and again when we left. All in all a good hotel, just in need of something in the lobby bar area in the evening and changes to the layout of the restaurant.More

Very nice. Fantastic food. Main pool was cold but family pool was heated. Rooms nice but a little dark. Staff were great. Lots of people had mosquito bites but we wore wrist bands bought from Boots which helped. Great entertainment staff made it fun and were good with the kids. More
We were looking for luxury and relaxation and this resort had it all. Buffet breakfast dinner and lunch was full of variety. We got a room with a jacuzzi on the balcony. The room had a walk in cupboard and a huge walk in shower which was amazing. There was simply no fault in our stay and would stay here again.More
Holiday village Egypt, Holiday Villages.
Me, The Mrs, the boys aged 14 and 6, went to The Coral Sea at Easter 2015. We are big fans of the Holiday Village concept, big hotels, big pools, loads to do, sunbathing for the Mrs, me and the boys fun all day. So this was Holiday Village number 5 for us, with Portugal, Rhodes, Cyprus and Kos under the belt and all amazing holidays. So we wanted to go to Egypt mainly for The Red Sea and snorkeling, wildlife etc but had the usual concerns, funny bellies, bartering camel men and how much would we get for the Mrs? So we turned to the ever faithful Holiday Village. The hotel is huge, with an army of cleaners and gardeners to look after it, its on the beach literally, the sea is amazing, there are 4 pools and splash pool and swim up room pools. The food is amazing (no dodgy bellies), alcohol and snacks are endless. The entertainment is brilliant if you like High 5 Live and the usual First choice reps shows (we love it), there is also local traditional cabaret shows, if its not your thing there is plenty of other bars within the hotel. We ventured out on an excursion which was a submarine type boat that takes you over the reefs to see exotic fish, this was great but you dont need to go far if you like water-sports and hotel sports and entertainment. The rooms are spacious, cool and smart, with large showers and washrooms, if you want to be near the main pool you'll be a 5 minute walk from the main restaurant and entertainment and vice versa but its a nice walk, the best blocks were by the main pool. If you have young kids and like to be busy having fun, then holiday villages are the way to go, they are not incredibly luxurious and we are easily pleased, my favorites have been Egypt and Cyprus but they have all been brilliant. Thanks for reading. V.More
My family and I went to the Coral Sea holiday village in September 2015. This was our second time of going there and we hope it won't be the last. The staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough for you. The grounds and all areas around the hotel were so clean. The food was lovely and my son and I had a fantastic Indian meal. My Husband and daughter loved the beef 'bacon' for breakfast. The kids clubs were worth the world. Just want to send our best wishes to everyone at the resort at this awful time. More
