We travelled here as a family of 5 in July 2015. The holiday was not good for us at all. We stayed in a swim up room in block 13. Lovely big room but could do with upgrading as quite dated. One tip would be to partition these rooms for families as they are plenty big enough. Unfortunately our second day was the start of what was to come. Our 7 year old son was violently sick 10+ times in one day with an awful stomach too. He ended up being admitted to the clinic on site and hooked up to two drips. The doctor seemed to think it was the food but was not sure! Day three into the holiday I developed the illness too but it stayed with me the whole two weeks. I could hardly eat anything without going to the toilet repeatedly. It went through the whole family including our 20 month old. Not pleasant one bit. To top the holiday off on day four our 14 year old son slipped getting out of our swim up room pool on loose tiles around the edge of the pool. His big toe got caught underneath the tile and split in half. The end result was having to have it stitched back up and his whole toe nail removed. No swimming or anything for him for the rest of the holiday. The management have offered ourselves a free holiday next year so they are remorseful. Food: some days were better than others. The omelettes were the best part for breakfast. They need more homely cooked meals for children other than chips and meat that didn't taste of much. In the whole 14 days they had mash potato once. All of the A la Carte restaurants were good. The Indian was the best but portions were small. Entertainment: unfortunately this was shocking. Myself and my husband were very bored at night. Nothing for the older generation at all and we are in our 30's! The children's entertainment was good for my 7 year old. The venue is unbearable with the heat. It's in an amphitheatre and you feel like you are literally melting. A few people we spoke with say they couldn't sit there. This really needs sorting and way too small for the size of the complex. My boys did the football academy and this was fab. The two lads that did it were really attentive. Corey loved it that much he did it for the two weeks we were there. Crèche: This was hugely disappointing. Our 20 month old daughter at the time struggled with settling in. I paid for sessions in the uk as you get priority apparently. I was getting calls from them to say you need to pick her up as she's not settling. I don't have a problem with this one bit, but what I did not pay for was for myself to witness babies and toddlers sat on their own crying and not being played with. No wonder they were not settling. They were just left to their own devices. Another mum stated the same as she hung around to see how her son was doing, he was sat on his own. This is uk based lead, you would not get this in our nurseries at home. Outside hotel: This was ok but you got hassled so much. This is expected but one man was mimicking my husband all because he said no thank you. Not nice really. We went to Soho square which was quite good but all the shops were selling the same. It was nice to go for a drink though and see it all lit up. Not sure if we are going to take the manager up on the offer of going back yet all because I don't want us to get ill again and the fact we was so bored in be evening. I have given my honest review so hope it helps.More

18th visit. Best place ever.

I have said time and time again this place is the best hotel ever. The management and staff treat you like family. The food in all restaurants is fantastic and no matter how fussy an eater you are you will find something you like I guarantee it. The rooms are big and kept very clean and no matter what you want it will be sorted. While on holiday this time my wife had a stroke and the help we received from Mr ali general manager and all his staff for the 8 days my wife was in hospital was second to none they looked after as if we were still in the hotel. Some of the staff including mr ali took time to come and visit my wife in hospital and all the messages we received showing their concerns was unbelievable. I have never been anywhere where they treat you so much like family and on our next visit I will thank them all. You cannot go wrong going to this hotel and like us will keep returning time and time again. Thank you holiday village. More

2nd visit

2nd time at holiday village, just as good as the 1st visit. Room 11211 above swim up rooms around the quiet pool , was excellent only 2 of us but could sleep 4. Quiet pool was peaceful, plenty of sunbeds and Ahmed serving drinks non stop all day. Food in main restaurant plentiful, hot and good variety, topped up regularly.Egyptian cakes yummy. A la cartes worth a visit. Adult only breakfast room now includes repeat guests and their children VERY DISAPPOINTING. Did not try the family entertainment, but went to the adults bar a few times, James was a good host and we had some fun nights. All in all the staff are all polite and helpful and work hard to make sure you have a good time. Venture off the end of the pier aprox 30ft to the left a bit you will find some lumps of coral where lots of big fish are.would not recommend the old sharm market trip, dirty place and lots of hassle. Would recommend seascope trip, fish eye view of the reef is brilliant, others told us the vip boat trip was good value. Booked through first choice, well organised transfers, reps helpful at all times.More

Our fab holiday!!

Positives!!! Weather, beach, cleanliness, food, facilities, professionalism, activities, staff, restaurants, pools, shops, reps, kids club, friendliness, hygiene, bars! All of these things we could not fault! Negatives! A must to stay in blocks either 1,2,3,4or 5 anything else is too far to walk, with no view, and very dated, all of blocks 1-5 are excellent! Modern, accessible, great views, more space! If you have children and they want all inclusive ice cream it is too far to walk from everything else! But these are really really small negatives so need to stress this! Must do's!!! Family snorkelling trip! Fab day with children or just adults brilliant staff that are friendly and knowledgeable, I had a panic attack in the sea and they were brilliant with me! And helped me tremendously! Food excellent! And the rep from hotel Ramsay was an excellent guide!! DO NOT BE PUT OFF BY ANY OTHER REVIEW YOU READ! We are well travelled people and this holiday was fab! Xx ONE MORE TIP! I would take English £1 coins, lots, tip with them and you will get 10 star treatment!!! Waiters, cleaners, bar staff!!! Remember most of these guys work a 14 hour day! For £15 a week if they got an extra £5 a week it helps with their family life when they go home! More
