A good pool scene and a handy setting close to the beach – just a couple of reasons this big, bright hotel wins the vote.
This place is just a 10-minute walk from Salou’s beach, one of the best sandy stretches on the Costa Dorada. It’s in a lively little sea port, with a raft of shops, bars and restaurants on the doorstep.
The Calypso comes with lots of activities. There are 2 main pools for starters. The 10-pin bowling alley wins plaudits on TripAdvisor, too.

great hotel for the price, it is only 3 star so youre not going to get 5 star. loved the cava for breakfast, snack bar was great and food at not was always piping hot. great staff, all friendly and no problems getting a drink at night and entertainment was first class. would go back in a minute.More
Arrived on the 9th September at around 11am on half board had to wait until 1pm for our room upgraded to all inclusive the next day found out then that as we we're all inclusive all drinks came in small plastic cups and if you pay you get brand named drinks all inclusive cheap substitutes. Mealtimes a nightmare some people have no idea how to queue even though there are notices up stating IN at both ends and OUT in the middle but a word of warning don't go to the left side if you want fryer egg's as the chef cooking them tells you to go to end of the queue on the right side. The meal of the day for me is breakfast but it was a letdown tomatoes only on twice, bacon looked more like belly pork sausages looked more boiled than fryer and for the kids chicken nuggets chicken nuggets chicken nuggets. The main bar needs a full make over filthyMore

Good hotel terrible food!
Arrived on the 7th sept for 7 nights holiday. Myself my hubby and ten year old child. Check in was quick! Hotel was spotless reception staff brill so helpful. Entertainment at night was great! Kids club was quiet. Location of hotel was good. Near bus stop and ten mins walk to centre. Only negative was restaurant handling fish and other meats then touching cheese! Quite a few people we got to know had all been ill including myself when I told staff they just weren't interested!! Veggies will go hungry staying here!!!! A good hotel but need to improve menu for vegetarians!! I would give hotel a four out of five!! Will be returning to Salou next year as we had a ball!!More
All staff are great and very customer focused. Entertainment is superb during the day and every evening. Rooms are a bit basic although spotlessly clean. Food is available at almost anytime and is good although there is room for improvement. More
