A good pool scene and a handy setting close to the beach – just a couple of reasons this big, bright hotel wins the vote.
This place is just a 10-minute walk from Salou’s beach, one of the best sandy stretches on the Costa Dorada. It’s in a lively little sea port, with a raft of shops, bars and restaurants on the doorstep.
The Calypso comes with lots of activities. There are 2 main pools for starters. The 10-pin bowling alley wins plaudits on TripAdvisor, too.

Great stay !
We stayed in this hotel in September 2013 and we were very satisfied. The beach is about 15 minutes walk from the hotel. The sea was clear and warm, beach sandy. You would love this place if you like long walks by the sea. The hotel was great, can`t complain about anything- service was fast, friendly and the all inclusive package was a bargain ! Great choices for breakfast including pancakes and omeletes on the terrace , snack with grilled chicken & salads, fruit and ice cream. There was also sparkling wine served during breakfast . Different cuisine every night in the restaurant with plenty to chose from. All inclusive bar had something for everyone, even a few cocktails.Entertainment was good, we could watch the show from out balcony . Cleanliness was good. Wi-fi was poor but again, nothing to complaint about.More
Visited this hotel on two occasions and had a fantastic time. The hotel caters well food wise for everyone, the pool area is good. The entertainment was great most nights and everyone seemed to enjoy what was provided, location is ok, it's a pleasant stroll down to the centre and amenities are all around.More
We stayed there for six nights in oktober 2016. Don't expect so much in this hotel so you will not be disappointed, take as it is. Buffet or food is average, internet connection is free in the bar but, it is very slow. Location is good, and it's typical for the tourist. It's around 10 to 15 minutes walking distance to the beach, and around one hour and 30 minutes to reach Barcelona city by car or bus.More

Still great value
This was our 5th visit to the hotel, and we still find excellent value. Firstly all the staff work very hard, plus they are helpful and friendly. The rooms are basic but are cleaned every day. The drinks selection is great, San migel, sangria, wine, cava and local spirits. The restaurant has had a massive refurb, and the food is good. There is a grill on the terrace that serves food all day. There are 2 large pools, a bar downstairs plus a terrace bar with large seating areas inside and out. There is entertainment every night, shows start at 10pm and if there is Spanish dancing in the main bar, there is s disco in the apple bar. Yes, the drinks are served in plastic cups for all inclusive guests, this suit us better as we walk around the pool area and take them upstairs. The restaurant did get busy at times, but we didn't have a problem finding a table. The reason I gave it 4 stars instead 5 is because the air con did not work in our room, which made it very hot this year. The walls are thin, but we knew this and that doesn't bother us. On the whole, for the price we paid, it is very good value and we wouldn't hesitate booking again. More
