TUI Magic Life Kalawy Imperial

This hotel is spot on for action-packed holidays, with three pools and a huge activities line-up. It’s also right on the beach, with its own coral reef.

The private stretch of sand here sidles up to a natural lagoon, where you can try everything from stand-up paddle boarding to diving in the off-shore coral reef.

You’ve got three pools to pick from at the hotel – including a family pool with slides. Out of the water, there’s archery, volleyball and yoga to get stuck into.

Great Hotel, great Dive centre!

I arrived back yesterday from two weeks at this resort, and it was great! The staff in every area were friendly, helpful and welcoming. Ramy in reception was so helpful, and memorised our room numbers from day one. We had booked two rooms, one for us, one for our Son. The first room we were allocated we said was too far away from our Sons room, and they changed it straight away. We ended up in 18102, which was near the slide pool, overlooking the gardens and the sea, and was very clean and comfortable. Mustafa Mohamed at the Slide Pool bar, gave great service, learning what drinks we wanted at different times of the day, and bringing them over without being asked. The Chef at the snack bar there made the greatest Cheeseburgers! The bar staff in the evening were great also, learning our drinks, watching when we were getting low, and bringing replacements. They had a different theme in the main restaurant each night, which wasn't repeated the whole two weeks we were there. There was great variety, with choices of both local and international cuisine, at all mealtimes. The a la carte restaurants were good too, with the Malaysian one our favourite. The only minor criticism I had, was with the smoking areas. The main restaurant was clearly split in two, smoking and non-smoking, too heavily weighted towards smoking. In the other areas of the hotel there was no separation, so you could sit on a table, but end up being surrounded by smokers - Uurgh. It would be much better to have clear smoking areas please. Lastly, but by no means least Magic Divers, the dive centre on-site were absolutely brilliant! Walid, Magdalena and the team were friendly welcoming and supporting of divers of all levels, happy to help those that are not so confident in the water (me!). Special mention for Marco and Zidane, but the whole team were great. Special mention for the support team as well, who would have our tanks stripped and equipment washed before we'd got back from the jetty. We have dived in Kenya, Sharm and Mexico, but this was the best, most professional set up we've come across - Thank you guys xxMore

Relaxing Break

We visited this resort/hotel for the first time for a week in March. We found the staff very friendly and attentive. We stayed in room 19113 which is just to the side of the slide pool and had views of the sea. Room very clean. Please note no iron available in the room or to borrow. You could send any ironing requirements to the laundry. The choice of food was very good in both the buffet and a la carte restaurants and catered for all diets. The only negative would be the birds flying in and out of the buffet area and smoking being allowed in the restaurants, albeit the smokers are separated. The snack bars around the pools are also very good and food prepared to order. There are plenty of activities on throughout the day if you like to be kept busy. They have pool activities, lagoon water sports, Segway tours, diving and also horse and camel rides. Good choice of cocktails and a coffe bar an added bonus. We found March very windy during the day and whilst temperatures were in the high 20's, the wind factor made it feel cooler, especially at night. The hotel did provide blankets for your use. Excellent entertainment in the form of dancing to various themed shows. Snorkelling was disappointing during our stay as the red flag was flying all week. We did go diving, where visibility was poor because of the weather. We would recommend being an experienced diver as the general regard for safety was lacking slightly. This is predominantly a German hotel with the currency of choice being euros or dollars. If you do have English, there is an atm in the hotel which gives better exchange rates than at home but pays out in Egyptian pounds which are accepted but not preferred. Spa prices are negotiable with the agents drumming up business by the pool side. My husband had a treatment which worked out at £60 for 2 hours which included massage and exfoliating treatment. The hotel does have a few tourist shops for you to barter with if you choose not to venture outside the resort. The airport duty free prices are all quoted in dollars.More

Great Holiday

We stayed there for 3 Nights from 28th to 1st of May. The property is huge, offering almost everything you can think of during a vacation, but what i admired the most was the sports, with football, volleyball, tennis courses, and did I mention Archery ! Multiple pools where you can enjoy the sun or play water polo or volley ball. Beach was mesmerizing with the breath-taking lagoon with many water activities available free of charge which was a delight! the Reef house by the marina is also a great place to snorkel. Staff and service is top notch! animation team is working hard to keep you engaged all day long. Food was very good. Rooms are clean , ACs are good, free wifi available as well. The downsides : -Rooms were a bit dim, ever with all the lights on which made it quite challenging sometimes -The Dive center was a bit pricey, for a local Egyptian to pay 28 Euros + Gear rental per dive is ridiculously overpriced, and you have to do an intro dive -with full charge- before you actually do the dive you wanted! "I am a PADI AOWD and still they wanted me to do that intro reef house dive check" Other than that everything was as you'd expect it to be, would definitely be coming again, specially if they review their diving pricing ;)More

Amazing holiday

My partner and myself visited Eygpt for the first time a couple weeks ago with Thomson and I cannot rate this hotel enough. The staff were always so friendly and wanting to help accommodate our needs. Their was a range of food and drinks available all day and night. Our room was beautifully kept (and so was the hotel!). If you're looking for a resort that's got activities to do in their day and night, go here; with paddle boarding, windsurfing, snorkelling, scuba diving, camel riding, water aerobics etc, a show/dance every night and so much more! Myself and my partner booked our holiday with Thomson and on the first day the Thomson rep came to the hotel and helped us book further activities to do outside the hotel with Thomson, such as going to the aqua park, doing a the ultimate desert safari, a luxury cruise and scuba diving; every day we were very happy with the quality of staff and facilities we came across. Brilliant value for money, amazing holiday, can't wait to go back!!More

very nice all inclusive club resort

We went with Jetair last week, stayed in the 23000 building near the pool with slides. Nice room, a bit outdated but functional. Things that didn't work were repaired instantly. The bed: hm.... I assume they are old and therefore worn out. Did not sleep very well here. Staff is wonderful and happy/welcoming. Lots of eye for detail in the buffet restaurant (we didn't use the specialty restaurants) at every evening with a different theme. After 7 days, all food looks the same, but qualitywise, the food was good. The quality of the alcoholic beverages is something that could be improved. Example: you would need double rum or vodka for a mix drink that tastes like it should taste. After an afternoon at the pool, we went to the main bar for drinks; much better than on the pool terrace. Animation: diverse, but mediocre. We have seen 3 bands perform with 80% pre-recorded music and 20% live presentation; the 20% was not the best part.... In this kind of club resort I would have expected something like karaoke. At least bands of better quality. Not during our stay however. The majority of guests is German, some Belgians/Dutch and British. No Russians, but we've seen a few people from Ukraine. A big part of the entertainment team is also from Ukraine. I haven't found a way to email with the accommodation before we travelled to Egypt; everything is sent through TUI channels which means you will never get the reply you want. On the departure day, to keep your room untill late afternoon, you pay 20 euros. All inclusive is always available and for free, since you don't get a wrist band (there is NOTHING in the entire area; the resort is very secluded). Wifi: free of charge in the resort AND in the rooms. Very slow though.More
