The Club Magic Life Kalawy’s bag is full of tricks. To begin with, the hotel is set on a private beach. This stretch of sand sidles up to a natural lagoon that’s ideal for watersports – you can try everything from diving to stand-up paddling.
There’s a really fun pool scene here. There are 4 pools to choose from, including one with 3 big waterslides, and an indoor one that’s accompanied by a relaxing whirlpool bath.
Food is served in 4 restaurants. There’s a buffet set up in one of them and the chefs cook dishes to order in front of you. The other eateries are à la carte and the menus range from Thai to Italian.
Regular visitors to this hotel rave about the entertainment. Evening shows are staged in the on-site amphitheatre. If you want a big night out, you can head to the disco, which doesn’t close until the early hours.

Excellent Hotel (shame about Thomsons!)
Impossible to add to previous reviews! A lovely hotel set in beautiful gardens, with excellent beach and pools. The main restaurant offers the most extensive range of food I have ever come across in Egypt! Plus there are 3 a la carte restaurants you can use.The staff,as expected, are very friendly and helpful and well deserve their tips. It is a very isolated hotel but it offers the choice of either chilling out or taking advantage of the many sporting activities which are part of the all-inclusive package. The free wi-fi is an added bonus and works not just inside the main building but also out on the terraces. We chose this hotel because of the excellent TA reviews and the award of a Certificate of Excellence 2013.We were also reassured by the fact that this was a Thomson Platinum Hotel, which means that over 90% of Thomson customers have rated it 'good' or 'excellent'. Thomsons also stated that it would be Platinum hotel until May 2014.As a result we thoroughly enjoyed our 2 week holiday here and planned to return next year. However Thomsons in their wisdom and probably their own self interest have chosen to pull out of their contract with the Hotel, and there are no longer any English people staying there. The only way you can now stay at this excellent hotel is to book direct with Magic Life and then arrange your own flights and transfers."Shame on you Thomsons"More
Just come back from 2 weeks at the Magic Life Kalawy. Yes, it is mainly German guests, but not a problem as they proved to be very friendly and spoke good english anyway. The choice of food was outstanding, i have never seen such a selection for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner and for a change you can use the 3 a la cart restaurants. The guy's in the Magico, Taha, Islam and Mahmood looked after us really well and would have a table with drinks ready when they saw us coming to eat. They had little phrases like 'awight guv'nor and 'Nice to see you, to see you, nice when they walked by. We spent most of our time around the activity pool, and participated in aqua aerobics with Lucas who was hilarious as a previous reviewer mentioned. I also did the Quad bike tour which was great and got you out of the hotel as it really is in the middle of nowhere. The only downside is the Thompson are not using it in 2014, as many of the English guests we spoke to were already planning to come back. I just hope another company picks it up. We were amongst the last 10 english guests to leave on the 29th, the Egyptians were really sad that there were no more english coming. :(More

Lovely hotel, excellent reef
After an hour and 15 min transfer from the airport, this hotel is literally in the middle of nowhere. I was worried that I would feel isolated and cut off. However I spent a week here and loved every minute of it! Being my first time in Egypt I wasn't sure what to expect. As I have heard about scams and pushy shop keepers which really arnt my thing. Here however was a very relaxed atmosphere. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. At the end of the week We tipped two of our waiters which had looked after us really well, as I believe this is customary to do so. Food was good, not amazing but a good choice helpful staff and a good variety. All inclusive was everything from water sports to 24hr bar. Our room 10204 was a good size huge bed. Very clean, maid service every day. My only complaint is there were no English tv channels, not that I go on holiday to watch tv but it is nice to watch while your getting ready or in bed. So please magic life if you read this please look into that. The beach is gorgeous, but I spent all my time snorkelling off the jetty. It was amazing lots of species of fish and corals. However it was a bit choppy which put our friend off. But I have never snorkelled before and didn't find it a problem. Pools lovely and clean. The hotel itself is massive and although cut off there was always something to do. However the sealife was the main attraction for me, and I was very impressed. Would definitely go again if the opportunity arose. Our friends went for two weeks. I felt two weeks may have left me feeling a little isolated but the one week was just right. Worst part of the holiday was the transfer and flight home. Which was a little too long but the resort was worth it. More

We have just returned from a week chilling at the Club Magic Life Kalawy. As other reviewers have stated this is a German hotel catering mainly for the German holiday makers. It is assumed by all staff (and German holiday makers) that you are German until you speak to them in English. All hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Our room, overlooking the slides pool was really nice and like everywhere on the hotel complex was kept spotlessly clean. The gardens are really lovely. The wide range and quality of food and drink is exceptionally good. Animation team around the pool announce activities - in German of course but the English explanation was often a poorly spoken, short phrase which didn't really encourage participation. Some members of the animation team sat and spoke with the German customers but I didn't feel they made an effort to integrate with the Brits. We didn't want to take part in lots of activities on this holiday as it was a week to chill for us but I did take part in the aqua aerobics taken by Lucas. Lucas was so funny and entertaining I found I was taking part primarily because Lucas was so hilarious with his shouts for "power, power" and "no blah blah blah" whilst showing off his fantastic dance moves. This is a fantastic hotel and we had a lovely holiday but felt a week was just enough.More
