The pools take most of the applause here – there are 18 altogether, plus a trio of bonus waterparks.
Formerly known as the Iberotel Aquamarine, this hotel is huge. It comes with a beach – a private number decked out with thatched-roof daybeds – and a jaw-dropping 18 pools.
The pools come in all shapes and sizes, 1 just for adults, others geared towards kids – plus there are 3 waterparks. Food-wise, the numbers stack up, too, with a couple of buffet restaurants and 4 à la cartes.

A fantastic, relaxing week away!!! 5*****
We was meant to travel to sharm but due to recent events, we transfered our holiday to hurgarda. After reading reviews we decided to go with this hotel and we was certainly not disserpointed! It was our first time here as we normally go to sharm. This hotel is fantastic!! Staff are amazing so friendly and can't do enough for you, asking if everything is OK and if we was happy with everything. Always cleaning and keeping the gardens and pools immaculate. There are two heated pools which we loved, it was like getting into a bath! we mainly stayed by the adult pool during the day and would like to especially thank (I think his name was ahmed, waiter by the adult pool) for looking after us that week he constantly made sure we where having a lovely stay and always making sure we had a cold drink! The beach was also lovely and very shallow and clear you could walk and seen all the fish. The food was always brilliant, every night there is different themes, I'm a fussed eater but always found something to eat every night. we also went to the a la carte restaurants which where also fantastic the chef even went round to each table to ask how the food was and if we was enjoying our stay! ( you don't get that in england!) yes you do have to pay if you want branded alcohol, but we where more than happy with the local wine and spirits. Our room was lovely and clean and really enjoyed the different towel art that was placed on our beds each day, also the cleaner was always checking if our room was OK and asking if we had enough bottled water in our room, we even had a glass of flowers place in our room each day too which was lovely! The Thomson rep was brilliant always around if anyone had any problems. If your looking for a relaxing week away, with fantastic service and great food and alcohol this is the hotel for you! We loved it so much we will be booking to go back next year! Thank you jaz aquamarine! for a fab stay and we are looking for to seeing you next year xxxx More
This hotel is huge but all the staff are so friendly and polite. If you want peace and quiet it's not a problem but if you want lively entertainment you can have that to, whatever type of holiday you want you can just pick an area that is right for you. I went to chill out and recharge my batteries which is just what I did as was left alone to relax, no pushy reps or staff. Great location only a short transfer from the airport and very quick check in process. Hotel can be like a maze but you soon get your bearings. If you are looking at this hotel then I would recommend itMore

OK but not fantastic
To be fair we went here only because we had to cancel our holiday in Sharm. We do not normally go to large hotels, or those with children. this hotel has 1000 rooms and definitely caters for families with children. It is very impersonal compared with other smaller hotels we have been to. The main buffet restaurant is huge and a bit like a but like a butlins canteen. The food was ok but there is not a huge variety. We only ate there once, the smaller buffet restaurant is better and not so chaotic. The A La Carte restaurants are good, especially the Asian restaurant. We used the poolside bar at lunch, the menu was limited but not bad. The rooms were spacious and clean, and the blocks are nicely set out. As with most Egyptian hotels the staff were all friendly and attentive. The hotel lobby area and bar is nicely set out and the service is good. There are a lot of pools, we occupied the area around the bottom pool which is massive but virtually unoccupied as it was so cold. We managed one swim a day in the pool, but it literally took our breath away. The flumes were good fun and not busy. All in all we had a good holiday, but no way is this a hotel we would go back to, not through any fault of theirs. That said lots of people clearly do enjoy it enough to go back againMore
Size does matter !!
Visited November 2015, we moved to this hotel after cancelling another Jaz Aqua marine is huge by most hotels, I have to say its very well maintained almost to show piece standard. The staff are very helpful from top to bottom, some do not have good English but usually manage to get bye. I would not usually choose a hotel of this size and think my judgement of this hotel will not be biased because of that. I have to say we always managed to find something to eat at the topaz or four corners restaraunt but managed being the operative word sadly having stayed at so many 4 and 5 star hotels would have to mark this one down a little, although the service was good the food was not consistent the two main restaraunts were a bit of a let down. The drinks are also very poor quality cocktails fruit concentrates very expensive for international brands , fresh juices were offered round pools in the morning as were smoothies at a cost of 20 eps approx 1.70 sterling. Should you wish to eat at the Italian or one of the other restaraunts offered a la carte for an extra premium you can have a selection of better wines and food fillet or prawns, Salmon. some fish dishes are included like sea bass which was very nice, we ate 5 times at the Italian over the two weeks and thoroughly enjoyed the Italian service. The hotel does provide very good facilities for the family not really the discerning traveler, how ever the smaller sister hotel blue Jaz Marine has a very nice restaraunt which the Thompson Aquamarine guests are welcome at much quieter and very good selection which did make the difference between good and poor thankfully ! Worth a mention if you enjoy a good international brand of drink best to take your own from duty free so as not to be dissapointed as they are very expensive at the hotel. Bottled wine is reasonable and you have to tell the waiters that white wine needs to be chilled (which was for us thank you ). I have to say we just found the food halls too manic along with the smoking at some areas even with the adults only areas. older hurghada and new hurghada very worth a visit the hotel taxi service was excellent for outings very reasonable indeed. guess Hurghada was not really our type of destination poor beaches, Rooms were spacious good aircon tv good showers different towel art every day the staff really do make the difference too many good staff to single anyone in particular the Thompson rep Sayed was a star !More
