Mirage World

The Mirage World has pools, activities and around-the-world dining, all wrapped up in a close-to-the-beach location.

Set in leafy grounds against a pine-forest backdrop, the Mirage World is pretty easy on the eye. It’s in a great spot, too – a stone’s throw from bars and restaurants, and a minute’s walk from the beach.

This place has just been signed up for the SuneoClub range, so it’s had a top-to-toe makeover for May 2014 – new décor, fresh interiors and a new-and-improved dining scene are all on the list.

Nice Hotel - terrible food & rep!

I'll start with the good points first - the hotel has recently been refurbished and is very nice & modern. The pools are nice and there are plenty of sunbeds. Mehmet is such a nice man and is very welcoming. The hotel staff are pleasant and some of them do their job very well. Thursday night is Turkish night which had lovely shish & chicken from a rotisserie. Later in the evening the Turkish dance acts were very good too. Now for the not so good points. The food is absolutely awful and don't even waste your time complaining to Sean the rep or First Choice because they are just not interested. Sean pointed out that in the brochure (which nobody has anymore because it's all done online!) It states 'world cuisine' but never have I been anywhere in the world that serves such weird concoquents of slop that you can't make into a meal. Mixed veg for breakfast is not a Turkish thing either - it was my 5th time in Turkey and I've never come across that before. It's great when the reps advice is to eat out - even though you've paid for all inclusive! Some people were slating those who leave bad reviews on this site saying what do they expect for the price but as they were happy to get pissed & smoke around the pool, have their chicken nuggets & then go to bed for the afternoon, I would say they do not have the same standards as I have. Sean also falsified my complaint to First Choice whilst I was there typing up things that I hadn't said to make it look like we were unreasonable. He conveniently didn't let me read what I was signing on his tablet, but I was one step ahead of him and didn't sign my signature - so nice try Sean i know you like to read these reviews and I will be putting my official complaint in anyway which will include your little scheme. FYI you need to pay attention to your personal hygiene & don't tell me what I can and can't write, I'm older & wiser and will write what I please! When I say most of the hotel staff are pleasant that does not include Emre who is arrogant and quite frankly rude (and no I'm not lying thank you Sean!) - he let's people push in the queue for the bar who he either thinks he's in with a chance with or are Dutch tippers. I have a tip for you - treat all your customers with equal respect. Some other bar staff like to talk to each other & leave you waiting or text & leave you waiting, whilst others are very helpful & lovely. I really don't know why this hotel is offered by First Choice as the English people are in the minority. It is overrun mainly by the Dutch who appear to get a much better priority than anyone else - again down to the tips! Entertainment is again pathetic - girls in their 20's who think shouting very loudly & acting stupid is entertaining. Karaoke is not my idea of entertainment either. Our toilet flush didn't work properly and despite reporting it to Sean & reception on several occasions it still very never fixed. I would like to say though that overall we did have a good holiday because we got out and actually enjoyed Icmeler which is a lovely place. We met some lovely Turkish people and I will definitely be returning but just not to Mirage World!More

Could do a lot better

My wife is terminally ill and this is likely to be our last holiday with this in mind we wanted this holiday to be special. Unfortunately we were disappointed, the room was the first sign of what was to come. The room was advertised as a twin sleeping up to 3 persons. I would like to see how they stored their clothing, the wardrobe was fine for hanging clothes but with no drawers it was difficult to know where to put underclothes etc. Next problem was the food, there was plenty of it but some of the cooking standards left something to be desired. The one redeeming factor was the staff. Wether it was the pool bar staff, the people in the various shops or the restaurant staff we were treated like a member of the family. Memhet in the dining room could not do enough for us and is the best ambassador the hotel has, he made our stay a joy.More

James L,

Great holiday

The hotel had a lovely reception, staff were very friendly and quick to take our bags to our room and explain the layout of the hotel. Our room was compact but adequate for our needs, and very clean. Maid came everyday, we were in the 3rd block on 5th floor overlooking the pool which suited us, the views were lovely. Music stopped at midnight. The restaurant was buffet style and there was something for everyone at all meal times. The snack room is open 12-5 every day with salad, chicken nuggets, pizza etc great if not too hungry for dinner or for a wee top up in-between meals. I will definitely be back again.More

Great stay

I was returning to the resort for a second year running and decided to try the MKirage World i am so glad i did . It was everything i had hoped for the room was great the food outstanding and the staff so eager to help and be friendly. As with all trips i have made its sometimes the little things that annoy and if allowed could spoil the stay. mI had a problem over towels not once but four times i had to speak to the reception desk as either not enough or no towels had been left once is a mistake four times is annoying but not enough to mark the Hotel down for as each time i complained it was dealt with very quickly. Another small problem was the room cleaning whilst not left dirty i dont think one day was it completed properly again just a small detail and not enough to spoil my holiday but future users need to be aware that complaining does work and eventually all was well . There are several small shops on site which i found interesting and useable namely a very competative jewellers a tattoo studio and hairderesers where you could get a decent shave .. All in all a very good stay .More

Spa and Fitness Centre

A longstanding back and neck problem reoccurred while I was staying in Icmeler and Fatima in the fitness centre is wonderful. I had a medical massage and despite the language difficulties she instantly found the problem and gave me some fabulous treatment. I have been seeing various practitioners in the UK with no great results but after 4 treatments from her I felt better than I have in years. Thank you Fatima so much. ChristineMore
