Terrible

This is NOT obviously five star hotel. No beach.Everybody wants to take swim on a beach, not in the swimming pool.THis is the reason everybody comes to the sea.Beach beside this hotel is not a beach what I paied for. This is low quality beach.Food is terrible. You have a choice of four to five menus. And that is all.Dress code in the evenning and the same stuff serve bavereges in plastic glasses during lunch.Wi fi is Terrible. It functions only in the morning when everybody sleep.Very, very dissapointed.Turkey and Creta are much, much better. From now I shall visit only "checked" placesMore

A bit Disappointed

Just returned from 10 day break which began on 25th sept and ended on 5th oct. We were staying here for my son's wedding along with 9 other family members. First impressions were generally good as our room was spacious and clean and had a good seaview. We stayed in the Paradise Village part which had it's own bar, restaurant and pool snack bar which saved us walking right over to the main hotel to get drinks and food. What the hotel or any of the travel operators tell you that after the 30th september all facilities for the Village part close down with no notice at all. Apparently this happens every year, so you would have thought that we would be aware of this before we arrived. Also please be aware that men have to wear long trousers for dinner (another detail that was not mentioned until arrival),which we were then only able to have dinner after 9 oclock each night as it may upset the other guests!!!. But it was fine for noisy children to run about while you were having dinner! The entertainment was poor to say the least, with a very basic day and evening entertainment with only basic sport tournaments during the day and a rather cheesey evening cabaret. Saying all this, the food is varied and plentiful and the staff are helpful especially the maids who work very long hours and always have time to say hello and put flowers in the room. The other main concern is the amount of Russian guests (90% we were told). It's not a racist thing, but they are the most rudest and arrogant people I have ever come across. So in conclusion if you are thinking of going here, bring long trousers, do not come at the end of season and learn russian as if you just travel as a couple you will be spending your holiday with just each other to talk to.More

Let down by First Choice

Just returned from a two week stay at the Aldermar Paradise , very clean and well kept hotel with excellent service good 4* hotel , but the biggest disappointment was the hotel was geared up to cater for the Russian tourists all pool activities where in Russian the shows where repeated in Russian and they are very very rude. But the biggest disappointment was FIRST CHOICE we paid for a package holiday with access to a First Choice rep NO CHANCE , landed at Rhodes shown to the coach that was the last time we saw or heard of a rep , on the First Choice board within the hotel a note was left (BY APPOINTMENT ONLY) was does that mean, did we pay any less for our holiday no we did not , we where expecting the normal morning greeting to run through the hotel and trips available but no nothing FIRST CHOICE could not care less as we where the only family that stayed at this hotel .More

Aldemar Paradise in Kalithea Rhodes

We expected the heat, however we had temperatures in the low thirties. We had a room on the 3rd floor with a sea view and we could not fault this hotel. Everything worked ; a late arrival, we reached our room to find a cold buffet ready to be eaten on the balcony and a bottle of wine. The staff were polite and encouraged us to speak Greek. The other guests respected us and allowed us to participate in their social groups. It helped having a 10 year old to break the language barrier. The water sports will keep any one occupied water skiing , wake boarding and parascending are available on the beach. Water Slide, swimming in salt water pools or in the sea you are spoiled for choice. The hotel is on the main local bus route to Rhodes and Lindos just cross the road to the bus stop south to Lindos/ Falaraki. Taxis on Rhodes are excellent and a good back up. We negotiated our own trip to Symi island and Rhodes Town and a separate trip to Lindos which can all be done independently. Getting there a bit early to miss the hordes gives you a major advantage- you can also travel when it is cooler. The restaurants were excellent and with a relaxed atmosphere; the packed lunches for our trips were a nice feature.More
