Amazing!!

Came here as a big family holiday with my partner (23), my daughter (18mnths), my mother (37), my father (35), my sister (16) and my brother (14). It was exceptional, we paid a little extra to eat in the a la carte steak house and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We came for 2 weeks and it was great. Can't fault it. There is always food been served somewhere in the hotel so for people like me and my family it's great because there's always at least one of us hungry. Rooms cleaned everyday, pool area clean and tidy. More

Jane J,

1st visit but will definitely be returning

We spent 10 nights at the Aqua Fantasty Hotel at the beginning of June. We were a party of four adults, one 13 year old, a 5 year old and two 2.5 year olds. This was my familiy's first visit but the third visit for our friend. If you are a family of four I would definitely recommend requesting a family room with sliding doors on the World side of the hotel. These rooms have a double bed which leads through to a little seating area (one bed and a sofa bed) which leads onto the balcony. There are a heavy set of sliding doors than seperate the double bed and seating area. Our family was 2 adults and the 5 and 2.5 year old and it worked perfectly for us. The sofa converts into a large (very comfy) single bed and there is a second bed opposite it. When we'd put our daughters to bed we could close the doors and watch tv or read for a while without disturbing them. All of the other family rooms tended to be just one big room so it would be lights out for everyone at the same time! We could not fault anything about the hotel. It was alway clean and the maids will clean your room as often as you wish. The pools were all clean and none of them were ever too busy so plenty of sunbeds free. We tended to use the pool nearest to the waterpark entrance as there is a good childrens part which has a very shallow incline. Plus you're right by a snack bar and drinks bar! This was also one of the only pools that was not tiled around but instead just had a concrete floor. We found that the tiled poolsides to be very slippery when wet (not good for little ones) but this one was much better and dried very quicky when it got wet. The private beach is was lovely and again there are plenty of loungers. The sand is a little clay like when wet so be prepared to have it stuck to everything for a while!! We thought the food was great. Breakfast was pretty much the same each day but loads of choice; fresh fruit, cereals, lots of freshly baked bread, omlettes, pancakes and hot food. We ate most nights in the large restaurant in the club hotel as there was usually more choice there. Every night there were endless fresh salads, fresh fruit, mountains of puddings, pasta, stir fry etc. There would always be a fresh fish and meat choice. Often they'd be bbq'ing something outside which was always very tastey. Granted if you have fussy children there is not a huge choice they will find something. but mine lived on a staple diet of spagetti bolognaise and rice, chips fand carrots for two weeks and were happy as larry! We stayed for the evening entertainment in the ampitheatre a couple of nights but we preferred to go and sit in one of the bars or even the hotel lobby where it was air conditioned! Lastly, the transfer from Bodrum airport to the hotel is long (2.5hrs) but it's honestly not that bad at all. The coach is air conditioned and you stop halfway (inward and outward journey) at a little cafe place where you can get a cold drink and snacks and go to the loo. We thought it'd be a nightmare after 4hrs on a plane but the children were all fine and enjoyed looking out of the window etc. We had a late flight home to gatwick. We were picked up from the hotel at 8pm and both of our children slept most of the way on the coach.More

Not a 5 star hotel, but an amazing holiday

This hotel has so many positive points and amazing features that even during a two week stay, we feel that we only experienced the tip of the iceberg. We shall definitely return, and almost everyone we met had been here numerous times. I'll start with the only negative- the bedrooms. We were allocated a garden view room in the World side, ground floor. It was very dark and gloomy and had a very strong musty smell. We put up with this for several days as we had unpacked after a late arrival and didn't want to spend any time during our holiday moaning and moving. However, once the small started to be noticeable on our bags and anything that had touched the floor, I asked for a move. By now the smell was overpowering. The garden view is not what I had imagined either- the terrace overlooked a high swampy area (hence the gloom). The gentleman at reception moved us without any hassle and handled the situation very well, for which I am grateful as the remainder of the stay was spent far more comfortable, with a room overlooking the adult only pool. The kids club, made our holiday. Neither of my two children have been bothered about attending such a facility before, but this holiday- I couldn't keep them away! The team are brilliant and keep all ages amused and welcomed. All nationalities are welcomed and my kids made many friends. The fact that you didn't need to book and it was free was fab. The three slots (morning/afternoon/evening) were great. The morning slot was sporty events, the afternoon arty activities and the evening, they went for dinner together then watched a movie - something for everyone! Big thanks to Aunty Sandra and Sarah. They even come to the coaches to wave each and every kid off, which made all of them think they were special and a nice touch! The waterpark was another highlight. There is access directly from the hotel and it's open to the hotel guests half an hour before the public so we often enjoyed no queues and plenty of fun packed into the morning. No food or drink is allowed to be taken in to the waterpark, and bags are checked before entry. A small bottle of water costs 3 lira from the shop within, so we found it a lot cheaper to just pop back through the gate to the hotel bar at intervals. They are very strict at the height requirements of the rides, with 120cm being the minimum for most. My youngest was just over but I feel that because of her slight size, she didn't come down the rides very fast and if there was a bigger adult following her there were a few times they landed too close to her after pelting down the slide- so just something to be aware of. For the little kids there are several water play type areas with plenty of sun loungers around. The lazy river was a hit for us too- especially to bob around in the mid day sun. The entertainment was of good quality and the team were very professional, working tirelessly day and night. The kids loved the party dances and getting up on stage for their own show organised by the Kids club. The mix of shows was a welcome surprise too - some amazing fire shows/beach parties/foam parties and dance acts. If you attend the beach party, it is worth getting to the beach bar early - about 8ish to watch the most beautiful sunset whilst having a cocktail before the madness begins! The food/restaurants - lovely mix of food, although they get very busy, which is difficult at times with kids. My youngest got knocked to the ground and cut her wrist, when an adult was being impatient/not looking. Queues are going to happen- it's a massive hotel so I can't see why people get so agitated. You can book one of the A La Carte restaurants per stay. We chose the Chinese and I had mentioned it was my husband's birthday, so they arranged for a surprise cake which was lovely and very reasonable price. They decorated the chairs and table (not that he noticed! ...but the kids and I thought it pretty) When I found out that it was only one meal per stay I did feel a little disgruntled as I'd have thought one per week would have been more the norm. However the food in the buffet restaurants was so nice that it didn't bother us. A few other points: the towels can be changed everyday if you want - good especially if you've been to the beach as the sand is a funny texture (quite rough?) and tends to cling to the towels! The pedalo and canoes are free to hire and I felt safe going quite far out with the kids as the sea is very shallow right up to the end of the pier. The motorised water sports are very reasonable too and great fun. Money- we took Lira and Euros. Both were used in the hotel shops/services but if you go to the market I suggest taking Sterling as the traders offered us much better deals if we had that- and barter hard! We took the bus direct to the market from outside the hotel. Very easy and convenient and the kids club have a 4 hour slot on a Wednesday which covers the hours of the market so the kids didn't have to endure it! bonus for them and us.... The safes in the rooms- are free (nice change) Wifi- we paid 2 Euros a day, and the connection was ok. The beach had free WIFI though (?) and so did the Club side reception. We will be back!More
