Just returned from a week long stay. Food was very good. I do slimming world and was very easy to continue this with lots of salad fruit fish etc. Room was small but cleaned daily. Although smell of disinfectant was horrible. It was my husbands birthday whilst we were there and a bottle of cava, cake and water were left in our room which was a lovely touch. Was hard enough to get a sun lounger but didn't bother us too much as we aren't really pool people. Was noisy outside but wore earplugs which helped alot. Overall a very enjoyable stay with lots to do. Upgrade to a gold band for golf etc was well worth it. Night of frozen dead very good and scary. Really enjoyed our stay!!More
Fun Hotel and Park
We arrived at 1am, even at that time there was a small cold buffet and drinks available in the restaurant. We had room 328 which is a lovely big room, only negatives I would say is it would be nice to have some draw space instead of just shelves in the wardrobe also I am amazed there is no facilities on the balcony to dry swimwear and towels especially as the hotel has the water park on sight. The cleanliness in the room and the rest of the hotel was excellent throughout our 2 week stay. The restaurant buffet food was always good with plenty of choice. The pool snack bar was also good with more choice than just fast food, with salad, yogurt, fruit and cake. We didn't use the offer for the a la carte restaurant, the deal was 1 free starter, 1 main, 1 desert, 1 drink and 2nd drink at 1/2 price, we didn't think the menu was varied enough for us to warrant paying for the 2nd meal as the food in the main restaurant was so good. The pool area is large, we didn't have any trouble getting a sun bed, but more parasols would be nice. The pool towels are good, you pay 10 euro deposit, 1 euro every time you want to change them, you get your 10 euro deposit back at the end of your holiday. It is a bit difficult to get a seat at the evening entertainment if you don't go out early, also the entertainment is a bit hit and miss as there is no notice board to tell you what is on so you have to turn up and wait to see what comes out. On the whole this is a really good hotel, close to the beautiful beach and all other amenities in Magaluf, there are some noisy people around the streets in the early hours of the morning but not at this hotel so beyond their control. One surprising thing I found was that there is no charge for the use of the room safe, just a 5 euro deposit which you get back when you hand the key back, there is also free wifi throughout the hotel, including your room and pool area. We found this to be a lovely hotel with all staff being pleasant and friendly, we will definitely return.More
Really good even for adults
Had a really good time spent 6 hours here plenty to do for kids and adults food is good and cheap, the night of the frozen dead was especially scary is definitely worth a visit! One of the best days we have had while staying in Palma More
Great Hotel, would return!
Sol Katmandu was brilliant! its a perfect hotel for people of all ages but especially for young children! Hotel was massive! but for the size of the hotel we only had 3 small pools like literally tiny, and sunbeds were few and far between despite it being the week kids were supposed to be back at school, however the time we wanted a sunbed round the pool at 1-3 ish (we are partying teenagers) there was always a few spare if you looked hard enough but probably not in the main season. Hotel guests were allowed access to the katmandu park, which has various attractions one of which was the night of the frozen dead which is a haunted maze for over 18s only 5 euros for hotel guests and well worth it. On site is a water park which would be great for kids lots of waterslides with lockers and food available (add cost) where we enjoyed the waterslides and we are 21 years old!! receptionists were very helpful at exchanging money and giving you change for the vending machines if you needed it. At night the hotel has security guards outside the main entrance which is comforting. Kids club looked really fun and kids really enjoyed the themed days, staff looked like they actually cared for the children, doing a headcount whenever they stopped somewhere in the hotel, and wouldn't let children leave till parents came to collect. Sadly we didn't see much of the entertainment at night as we liked to go to other bars or the strip, but 2 nights i did see flamenco dancing, Brazilian dancing and kids mini disco, it was a big crowd and hard to get a seat but it looked like a good show! Oh and free wifi!!! Rooms were lovely, simple but modern, always clean bathroom, towels and bedding changed everyday, air conditioning worked well as long as you kept the balcony door shut. balcony was a good size with chairs and tables.. and the beds were the comfiest beds i have ever slept on in my life!!! no wonder i didn't want to get up too early! Good hanging space in the wardrobe. However it would have been nice to have a dressing table in the room or at least a mirror above the fridge table, i know there are mirrors on the wardrobe but its abit of a squeeze when 2 girls are occupying the room. Food was brilliant pretty much everything you could ask for in the restaurant there was a good variety of food and themed nights, and the snack bar was a life saver for late risers! always the normal burgers, hot dogs, chips, nuggets, salad and toasted sandwiches. Drink was abit disappointing on the all inclusive side only a handful of cocktails and they were the premixed ones and far too sweet to stomach alot of them...other than that beer, vodka mixer, slush puppies!! and cider!! in the day drinks were very weak in alcohol but at night very very strong!! i couldnt win lol! Location of this hotel is perfect, just far away from the strip to not be too noisy and in your face but a short 5 min walk away from all the bars and nightclubs, across the road from BCM, two strips of bars nearby the main one and the BCM one. 2 beach's nearby to the left Son Matis Beach and to the right magalufs busier beach, both beautiful and clean! overall perfect location! Negative points: it took ages to check in, long queue and only 2 receptionists, then being told to wait 1-2 hours for room to be ready.. considering it was already 2ish.. we were hot and agitated and wanted nothing more to get into our air conditioned room and unpack! Also the hotel in the morning was very noisy im sure the walls are paper thin, could hear beds scraping and children screaming... but apart from that an amazing stay!More
Our family holiday
Can't be faulted on cleanliness. But found staff are not very friendly unless you are Spanish. We payed a fortune to go all inclusive. There is a choice of 1 Spanish beer some spirits but if like me you like cocktails you will be disappointed as they are poured out of a bottle yet a paying customer gets fresh I don't see how this is fair as I payed through the roof for all inclusive so realistically I've paid for a proper drink. Customer service reception unless and room are tiny. Alot of the things at this park far to scary for my 5 year old so paying for the park was a waste of time as the things he wanted to do like golf ect are not included and you have to pay seperate. It is very expensive out and about. The food was always cold and not very nice. On the evening you can't help yourself to drinks you have to wait to be served at the table which takes ages. Unless you go down with towels 8 clock on morning don't expect to get a bed round the pool. They say it is not allowed but everyone still does it. Cleaners do a great job. Night time entertainment also terrible and also not enough places to sit. I'm absolutely devastated I have spent this much money to be surley disappointed More
