Not impressed, wouldn't go again
I went with my 2 of my friends in July for a week. At first our room was missing a bed and after informing reception someone came along and squeezed a camping bed in the side of the room, which we were not impressed about as you could hardly walk around the room now. The rooms needed updating but where clean. However our room was broken into TWICE although luckily all of out valuables where in the same. A few of the other rooms had been broken into also, and one example was a group of lads who had over $1000 stolen. Apparently a Spanish child was knocking on the doors, and when someone answered the door to him he walked into the room and had a glance around the room and then walked out, and was thought to be reporting to those who where breaking into the rooms . There was a lot of variety of food but being a picky eater I found I didn't eat a lot. However there was not a lot of variety for the drinks. One thing I was appalled at was that water was not included in the all inclusive so you had to either pay for bottles or go out to local shops and buy a big pack of bottles (which is what we did). The pool was actually quite small however was never packed so was okay. The Sol Katmandu theme park area is very much aimed at children and is quite small. There is only a small section free to hotel users and you have to pay for the rest. Location is good, only a short walk away from the beach and the strip. Overall however I would not return to this hotel.More
G and G try Katmandu
We have been to Katmandu park a lot so we tried the hotel. First impression's, (Very nice), The room was on the 3rd floor and the room was normal for 3* in spain, so acceptable, and comfortable, TV,SKY Nice bathroom -----and then we saw the balcony,OK table chair's room to move around and a massive great big rubber tree stopping any view at all. Choose a floor higher than 4th. Entertainment normal, bar's good,Staff were very good,The maid service was very good and helpfull, The hotel food was varied but it was end of season and not much of it. NOW the park resort , The water park there was a laugh and adult's are allowed, Crazy golf brilliant,House a good laugh , All the other attraction,s are great, AND being all inclusive you get a free pass for everything,Including K3,Which in my oppinian was really great............. All in all we had a great 7 day's.More

Booked a week at this hotel in May 2014 our last visit was in 2011 so we had prior knowledge of the hotel out date of arrival 9th October 2014 for seven days including Katmandu passes the day before we were due to travel we were contacted by the holiday company to say we were been transferred to another hotel as the Katmandu was closing on the 13th October but we could have a full refund on the hotel but we had got flights with monarch which we could get no refund on so we were committed to take the offer of alternative hotel we feel very annoyed and feel the least the sol group of hotels could have done Is arrange for us still to receive the entrance to Katmandu as it remained open after the hotel closed will contact sol hotel group now we are home to questio the reason why we could not have been treated fairlyMore
We've been going here for the last 4 years and we've seen many changes. Rooms really need updating now though. The addition of Katmandu Park is good but may not suit all. Just got back yesterday 11/10/14 and the hotel is now closed for the winter. The season is getting shorter and shorter with some unhappy guests having to move today to another hotel for their second week.More

Me and my friend stayed here from October 4th 2014 and was supposed to be here for 14 nights, we arrived on a Saturday and on the Monday we had a phone call to say the hotel will be closing as of 12th of October. Obviously, we just got here and unpacked and settled in so we're pretty annoyed about the closure. Anyways, from the photos I will add our hotel room had damp and mold along the walls, the shower and the bath was very dirty. The food is a hit or a miss all thought there is always something you will eat. Reception staff was very rude when dealing with the closure of hotel, we were messed around a lot and not told what hotel we were getting moved too. Also when we arrived we got no information from reception on the hotel or park, we also never got our wrist band for the park and had to complain to the manager several times about this hotel. We had no towels in our room and found the rooms very crammed. This was me and my friends first holiday abroad together and what a terrible experience this has been. The park itself does not look as good as it seems. Would not recommend this hotel.More
