Hotel Mares

This one’s a great all-rounder, with fantastic Med views, waterfront restaurants and plenty of bars.

This hotel is blessed with good looks, all the way from the bougainvillea-draped buildings to the mountain backdrop. The Med is mere footsteps away, while both Marmaris and Icmeler are just 5 to 10 minutes’ drive from here.

The sea views aren’t wasted here – the buffet restaurant drinks them in, while the seafood à la carte nudges the waterfront. There’s a great choice of bars, while the pool set-up includes one that comes with slides.

Would definitely recommend it!

A lovely hotel in great location! Went for a week and had such a good time! Entertainment team was amazing! Everyone was very helpful and worked so hard to please all the guests ! The food was really nice! Rooms very clean. Waiters really nice ! Especially guy called Ahmet! Always made sure we felt comfortable and were looked after! Sultan bar with friendly staff-always fun. Live music every other evening - the guy was an amazing singer. Dj Alper was a good one too! In general I would even go back to see those guys again! Very good experience!More

Quiet location on the beach

Loved: the beach - very little sand but extremely clean water with lots of fish. it has blue flag too; the pastries and desserts in the main restaurant; the cleaning service of the rooms; the amazing views of the main restaurant and the location of the hotel - quiet but not too far away from the resort ( rent a bike or a scooter - very convenient!); there is free WI FI almost everywhere in the main building. What I disliked: Paid for a sea view room in the main building, but the bay was not visible from the room, only from the balcony and it was not private at all. The room overlooked the swimming pool and the disco, so it was loud until 1 AM. The a-la-cart restaurant - Italian - is a joke, not worth a visit. The drinks - wine and cocktails are not what they should be in a 5 star hotel. The furniture is a bit outdated, but it's ok. On the whole I enjoyed my stay and would come back. The hotel is an affordable mid-range and the management does not strive for more. Not a luxury hotel but excellent value for moneyMore

Recommended !

Just returned from this hotel. Location and views fantastic, right on the bay, although, it is on it's own and there is nothing else nearby without getting the bus/boat to Icmeler, Turunc or Marmaris. Food was really good with plenty of choice, lovely salads and desserts, but I would say that this is a mixed cuisine so you won't get bacon ! We were in the main building , had a lovely spacious room, big balcony, and the cleaning service was very good, change of linen and towels quite frequent. My only criticism is that we paid for a sea view and I would not do this again as there are no real full sea views .If you can manage to get any of nos. 1101 to about 1106 or similarly 2101 to 2106 and the same on the 3rd. or 4th. floors, you should get a decent view. We had to go to the farthest corner of the balcony and stretch our necks to see the sea. But, on the whole really good !More

Terrible staff

5* I don't think so, maybe 2*. Staff don't even look up at you to serve drinks, too busy texting on mobile! One entertainments staff member carried on texting whilst speaking to my mother, he was incredibly rude and didn't even answer her question, told her to ask someone else. He had the most plucked eyebrows I've ever seen on a man I case manager reading! No please no thank you's just bad manors. Room cleaned well but very old decor. Painter obviously was about 5ft5 as missed about a metre of painting from ceiling. Food average. No veggie selection and no help available. Really really disappointed. I will post more pics of the staff on phones as this became a hobby during the stay!More

We have just returned from a weeks holiday at the Mares, this is the 6th time we have visited this hotel, we find the location excellent part way between Icmeler and Marmaris, the rooms we have stayed in are always spotless and have a balcony with great views. The food is of excellent quality and the staff in both the hotel and restaurants are very courteous and helpful. The hotel has spacious lounges with balconcies looking out to sea. We find this hotel is excellent value for moneyMore
