Hotel Mares

This one’s a great all-rounder, with fantastic Med views, waterfront restaurants and plenty of bars.

This hotel is blessed with good looks, all the way from the bougainvillea-draped buildings to the mountain backdrop. The Med is mere footsteps away, while both Marmaris and Icmeler are just 5 to 10 minutes’ drive from here.

The sea views aren’t wasted here – the buffet restaurant drinks them in, while the seafood à la carte nudges the waterfront. There’s a great choice of bars, while the pool set-up includes one that comes with slides.

excellent holiday

We have just returned from a fantastic 2 week family holiday. The accommodation/rooms were as expected for a Turkish 5 star, the complex was brilliant. Our 2 young children 8 and 6 loved the beach/pool/water slides. They especially enjoyed the company of Anna and Kiki at the kids club and the trip to the Dolphins. The food was better than expected for All Inclusive. The staff are all happy and polite. The reception staff do have limited English and being understood can be a problem. The 3 additional restaurants were very good. The evening entertainment was average, the animation team do their best, however there are other bars to go to, so always something to entertain yourselves with. The resort is in a beautiful setting and kept clean. The pool area is a bit too busy and our only negative observation. The complex would benefit from a 2nd more quiet pool. We had a room in the main hotel. The ice-skating rink on the beach was an added bonus (on walk from hotel to Icmeler) We would definitely consider returning and recommending this hotel.More

My Fiancé and I came here for a week the first week in August. We arrived in the early hours in the morning and was not impressed on arrival however this soon changed. We went to our rep meeting which was the worst one I have ever been to we was greeted by a very cocky man who told us he knew everything about the area, we was given no information on the hotel or a la carte restaurants all he was interested in was getting money out of us!! After walking around the resort we saw how beautiful the surroundings really were especially on the water front it was stunning so our opinion soon changed. Pros- Friendly staff Very clean, especially the rooms the cleaners were fab and very friendly. On the water front staff very good staff often found you a sun lounger if they were all taken. Close to shops and restaurants but not right in the hustle and bustle of it all. A very dated hotel but the surroundings really do make it unique and likeable. Lots of English people and variety of drinks all local brands. Good wifi Good evening entertainment. Music played on water front and a local dish cooked at lunch which was popular for lunch. Small shop in hotel Cons- No free ice cream Had to pay a deposit for beach towels. Poor variety of food could do with a larger variety that also cater for the English. Tip boxes everywhere A terrible First Choice Rep Reception staff friendly but speak very little English. Use of only one A la carte restaurants Lots of wasps by pool but that can't be helped! No room or towels given on departure so have to change in the gym with no towel!! If I was asked if I would return to this hotel my answer would be yes as it was so stunning you have to get up at 6:15 for Sunbeds on the pier but def worth it really is beautiful. However the first choice rep really does have to be replaced!! You will meet lots of nice people here as everyone is friendly. Great for kids aswell. Don't be put off by the negative comments all I would say is the hotel is more of a 4 star than a 4 plus but is so clean and in a great location very safe aswell. More

Terrible food

I stayed at the Hotel last week and thought the Hotel itself was fine, it was in a great position with lovely established gardens and beautiful piers to sunbathe but what really let it down was the food, in the main dining hall it was atrocious especially on a morning there was one lady frying eggs in a seven inch pan so you had a 20 min wait for an egg, why don't they do what other Hotels do and cook 20 eggs at a time on a cooking plate, the kitchen manager needs firing and somebody with some sense employed to run the kitchen, every morning they cooked these giant tubs of musili and creamy rice and at the end of every day not a spoonful had been eaten so what sort of idiot carries on cooking the same thing every day every week when nobody is eating it, it was like they just weren't bothered. the food on a night was just as bad, no veg no potatoes no jacket potatoes no cheese no chips for the kids, just exactly the same stew slops every night. There is only enough sun beds for 20% of the Hotel so you had to be up at 6am to get one, but one of the main things is if you like to sit down and have a drink at the music bar forget it as there is only about 50 chairs so we had to stand up all week. If they could sort these problems out it could be a great Hotel, all the staff and the animation team were greatMore

A holiday to remember!

I had 2 amazing weeks at the hotel together with my family, the staff was great at their jobs and made everyone feel great.. The entertainment team at the hotel was outstanding, they were super positive happy people that made sure everyone enjoyed their holiday to the fullest! I really enjoyed all the activities with them and i think everyone else did to! KC, Jackson, Anna and the rest of the animators made this holiday absolutely super! WE WILL BE BACK <3More
