Hotel Mares

This one’s a great all-rounder, with fantastic Med views, waterfront restaurants and plenty of bars.

This hotel is blessed with good looks, all the way from the bougainvillea-draped buildings to the mountain backdrop. The Med is mere footsteps away, while both Marmaris and Icmeler are just 5 to 10 minutes’ drive from here.

The sea views aren’t wasted here – the buffet restaurant drinks them in, while the seafood à la carte nudges the waterfront. There’s a great choice of bars, while the pool set-up includes one that comes with slides.

Beautiful seaside all inclusive just enjoy! But...lock your luggage on the way to the airport!

I stayed at this hotel for a week with my husband and really enjoyed our stay. Friendly staff, variety of fresh food and plenty of it! Loved all the salads!!! If you are looking for somewhere to chill out and relax it is a very good choice. Good option for entertainment of children by the swimming pool, I tried the Turkish bath and foot massage and loved it! The room was in the villa , good size and confortable. Went for walks in the town of Marmaris and paid too much for turkish delights ! You can buy them cheaper at supermarkets! The only bad thing about my holiday was that in my last day we decided to ask one of the van drivers that collect costumers from travel companies to take us to the airport for a cheaper rate. The driver charged charged less but my IPAD went missing from my hand lugagge that was not locked in the back of the van. The driver did spend sometime sorting out our bags at the back and I could even see him throwing the bags in the air. I did get concerned and keep looking at his unusual behaviour but would never dream he was going through all the bags! At the airport I wanted to get my IPAD out and it was gone! Contacted the hotel in the morning and they did what they could being very helpfull emailing the van company....without much result int he end from the travel agencies that deal with it. The insurance will cover a little part of it but I have to buy another one. Please lock your handlugagges as well! My other bag had also a broken zip....but has no eletronics or valuables (clothes and shoes) so it was nothing stolen there. My holiday was lovely at the hotel, the weather always good....I do recomend the hotel. Wish I could be there now....miss the sun!!! Good price and you dont have to worrie about how much to spend eating out on holiday!! And the quality is good too!!!More

Beautiful Views

We re-visited the hotel after having bad weather last year , although loving the hotel. We were welcomed on arrival and shown to our lovely room overlooking the bay and swimming pool. A couple of changes had taken place since we were there a year ago. A new bar in the lobby, which really added to the atmosphere and outside a re-arrangement of seating and a new bar, which was also very nice and still created a really nice place to have a drink overlooking the bay. The weather was really great this year, so no complaints there. The food was very nice everywhere. We visited the Fish Restaurant, and although a bit chilly on the evening we visited, we were offered blankets, which was a very nice touch and the food was excellent. We also visited the International restaurant, again, excellent and also the Italian Restaurant, also excellent. The food in all restaurants was plentiful, almost too much, but very, very nice. The hotel was spotlessly clean everywhere, the staff all work very hard to make the hotel a very nice place to be. We never go back to the same hotel, but this was an exception and we will certainly be visiting again.More

Friendly Atmosphere and Secluded Hotel

Me and my girlfriend visited here at the end of April so it was just out of season. The staff were all friendly and couldn't do enough for you, even when checking in they told us just to go and have the Midnight snack as we had been travelling all day and check in when we were happy. The hotel it quite a big complex and lives on the beach front but has its own private jetties with bars were the staff were only to happy to wait on you. Compared to many of the other hotels we passed as we walked into Marmaris (20 minute walk) it seems secluded and this allows it to be purely just hotel guests using the facilities unlike many of the other hotels. The food was great and so much choice at every meal time, again the staff are very happy to see you and wait on you all of the time. We were lucky to have one of the seaview bungalows which were very nice and just away from the busy areas of the hotel so it was always quiet. The pool area is great and is a perfect suntrap all day long. The entertainment team were all friendly but the lack of night activities was the only let down really but again it was just out of season. I would fully recommend staying here and would definitely go back again.More

Huge hotel offering different experiences for everyone

We went towards the endo of April as the area was gearing up for the start of the season. We got a great deal from On the Beach but took a while before committing because of the mixed reviews, hence my title! We have been to Turkey lots of times but never to a big hotel and never all-inclusive because we prefer to eat out and explore wherever we are...but we were ready for a holiday and this ticked all the boxes. On the plus side; most of the staff were brilliant (especially Sybil in the restaurant), the food was typically Turkish and great quality, the area was gorgeous and it was good to share the hotel with a really good multi-cultural mix of people. On the negative side; the seating areas in the evening were cavernous and lacking in atmosphere and there were issues with our room. We started in a family room which size-wise was great but it wasn't cleaned unless we asked (the cleaning staff were so rushed off their feet, they were running) and it was noisy. After 4 nights we asked to move and the hotel couldn't have been more accommodating. So, all in all, it was a great stay but because it was such a huge hotel with people paying very different amounts for their holiday, it felt like everyone you spoke to could have been on an entirely different break! I would recommend it, not least to single women travellers who said they felt safe and welcome at the hotel. And if you're not happy with something, don't grumble to each other about it, see a member of staff and get it sorted. Forgot to mention the dolphins...bit random but lovely to watch in the mornings.More
