This one’s a great all-rounder, with fantastic Med views, waterfront restaurants and plenty of bars.
This hotel is blessed with good looks, all the way from the bougainvillea-draped buildings to the mountain backdrop. The Med is mere footsteps away, while both Marmaris and Icmeler are just 5 to 10 minutes’ drive from here.
The sea views aren’t wasted here – the buffet restaurant drinks them in, while the seafood à la carte nudges the waterfront. There’s a great choice of bars, while the pool set-up includes one that comes with slides.

Good value holiday for families
good value all inclusive holiday. Hotel rooms ok but not 5 stars, however they were clean, quiet and clean towels daily. Great location with lovely private sea swimming area, nice pool area with separate slides for kids. Food, plenty of it and good variety with a la carte restaurants too. The fish restaurant was excellent. Staff helpful and friendly and worked hard to make your holiday a good experience. Entertainment ok for a week stay but gets repeated if you stay longer. Good location with easy access to buses to marmaris and icemeler. Also there is a nice walk to icemeler along the beach pass running by the hotel. Lots of things to with the kids nearby that you can do on a budget. Excellent value family holiday but it's very hot in July and August.More

Fantastic first visit
we arrived at the Grand Yazici Mares at 2.00 am on the 10th of july 2015 we were taken promptly in a golf buggy with our luggage and taken to a villa set away from main hotel ..my reaction was instant horror when we went inside it was a tiny little room in bad repair and in great need of a revamp i was devastated my husband said just to leave it until the morning to see what we felt like then , we left our suitcases and went in search of food and a drink we asked at reception to see if there was anywhere we could get something to eat and we were told we could get a taxi to marmaris we were tired and hungry after a long time travelling so we just gave up and went to bed very unhappy ..the next morning we went to our welcome meeting with our thomson rep jags and told her we were unhappy with our room the outcome was we were changed to room 1236 with sea view and a view of the dolphin park thankyou jags for that it made a massive difference to our holiday ...the main hotel and surroundings are out of this world the views are to die for ..sunbathing and relaxing down by the jetty is superb and so peaceful its like another world ..the pool area is quite lively with music playing we spent a few days there as the atmosphere was fab ..the animation team work very very hard and deserve a medal they made a big difference to our holiday and were so friendly especially onur so thanks mate :-) ..the restaurant all i can say is wow what a selection of food all presented and cooked beautifully ..i especially enjoyed my omelette at breakfast always served with a smile from the lady nearest the toasties ..we were always looked after really well in the restaurant by Agit what a credit he is to you ..he would see us coming and find us a table and immediately pour our water and get us any drinks we required i cannot praise him enough he is awesome thankyou Agit for making us feel welcome and cared for :-) .. our favorite bar was the sultan bar and all i can say about the girls that work there is wow ..we were looked after the full week by Ozlem and Sehnz we honestly never had to leave our seats and go to the bar once their service was amazing they even kept us supplied with plates of nuts that were very nice indeed so thankyou girls for spoiling us and making our week so special :-) .. i recommend the camlik restaurant for snacks especially the chicken wraps mmmm and also visit for the al a carte it was amazing all the staff there are really welcoming and look after your every need with a smile thankyou guys :-) we only tried the pizza restaurant once and it was enough ..we were not made to feel welcome at all and in the time we were there not one member of staff smiled it was not a nice atmosphere at all we cancelled our al a carte night there because of the atmosphere at snacks we didnt feel it was worth wasting a night of our holiday there ..if your out and about in Icmeler or mamaris i recommed the Taj Mahel for a curry it was out of this world and very cheap for a 3 course meal with drinks ..dont book your excursions with the guys that come aroung the hotel as you can get them much cheaper from the booths in mamaris or Icmeler however if you tell them you have been quoted less they will price match ...so other than the initial upset with our arrival and the first room we were given i have to say this was an awesome place with some amazing staff who go the extra mile to look after you this turned out to be probably my best holiday ever and we cant wait to go backMore

5 star scenery but only 3 star hotel
We booked this hotel as a late availability all inclusive deal. We travelled as a couple with our 2 sons aged 18 and 21. We had villa land view rooms which sound exciting but were the most basic rooms I have ever stayed in. Air con does not work. The rooms are really small and basic and the TV reception poor. They were cleaned well and when I put all the towels on the floor they were changed! Be aware that the villa rooms are quite a distance from the hotel and all uphill. The food was ok. It did annoy me that I had to pay extra for the fresh orange juice and that I had to pay in cash and was not able to charge it to the room. The snack restaurants were the best particularly the one above the beach in the trees. We had no issues with the Russians. It was the British who left us feeling embarrassed and ashamed. Fat, greedy and loud about sums them up. The Staff in all the restaurants and bars were hard working and polite. The spa is expensive and very tired. The beach area was absolutely lovely. We never had a problem finding chairs although the umbrellas are rather small and do not protect you from the 40 degree heat we experienced. Would we go back? No. It was our room and the lack of air conditioning and toiletries although we reported it repeatedly, that let it down. Right location but needs to be updated.More

Enjoyable stay but never a 5*
We arrived back last night from an 11 night family holiday at a Grand Yazici Mares ( 45, 39,14,11 and 7 ). Overall we enjoyed our holiday but it was not without initial teething problems. On our arrival at 0130hrs check in was prompt but I could tell there was obviously an issue as big conversation going on in Turkish between Nightshift manager, receptionist and bell boy lots of gesturing towards my wheelchair user daughter . . .the issue quickly became obvious we had been allocated a 2 bedroomed garden villa room at the very top row of a sheer incline and up a flight of 8 external stairs to access !! Aside from the accessibility issues for the wheelchair I can also confirm like other reviews the villa rooms are very, very basic standard, old cracked portable TV, tired decor and upholstery long overdue a revamp as on the plus side they have amazing balconies with great sea views so lots of potential there. Apparently nothing can be done about room allocations during the night and whilst tempted to stake out in reception until resolved we agreed to meet them at 10am next morning to discuss options ! We were offered another garden villa on a slightly lower level and 2 separate bedrooms( without adjoining door) within the hotel annexe neither of which met with our expectations for our holiday so still fully packed well into 1st day of it was agreed a 2 bedroomed corner suite Rm 2332 would be vacated the following day at 12md, we were happy will the spaciousness of it and the general standard was much better, it did face the hotel driveway but the breathtaking sunrise views over Marmaris more than compensated !!! Finally 2 days into the holiday we were able to unpack and get into the holiday mode. Our story it seemed was a familiar one with not one of the British couples we met having accepted the first room offered ( generally garden villas ). HOTEL POSITION - extensive grounds, fairly well maintained. Views stunning, pleasant walk in either direction along the sea front to icmeler or marmaris, orange Icmeler dolomus from top of hotel drive is 3TL either direction, taxi is approx 25TL direct from hotel in either direction. FOOD/DRINK - standard of food is OK but very repetitive, doesn't really cater for UK customers pretty continental/Eastern European menu, particularly breakfast, the greed and waste displayed by some nationalities is quite shocking !!! Queuing is also not a concept they are familiar with. We always found something for eating even if it was only salad. Beware daytime snacks in the Pizzeria and Camlik finish sharp at 4pm and you can pretty much guarantee being finished your food before any drinks arrive which in the July heat we found very frustrating indeed. Self service soft drinks would be a huge improvement at this hotel. POOL / BEACH - towels start going on sunbeds from about 0730hrs for premium seats next to kids pools etc but if you are less concerned about position then most wander past on way to breakfast. ENTERTAINMENT - the team work really hard both around the pool and in the evening. It can be quite noisy at the pool on occasions but I expect that of a family hotel. My 7 year old loved the kids club, she only went a few times but the air-conditioning was a welcome break away from the July heat. Mini-disco was fairly standard but as ever the small kids loved getting up for all the dancing OVERALL - we had a good family summer break away in a beautifully positioned hotel with weather to die for, onsite spa/Turkish Bath defo worth a visit. Grand Yazici Mares is by no stretch of the imagination a five star or even a 4 star in some rooms. The more communal areas are better maintained just a shame they have allowed the rooms to get so tired !! Free Wifi great signal in lobby but you can forget elsewhere in hotel. Some staff require reminded we are paying good money to stay there and good customer service with a smile would go a long way. More
