As we were meant to be going to sharm we changed to here..Very happy quiet when we arrived normally there shut down time got very busy when week went on. Food very good even for those fussy eaters .Big thanks to Hind in evening who does the coffee very friendly and welcoming some staff could learn from her.majority of staff ok however a few who didn't smile or say hello. Also massive thanks to Tito. Rooms very good hotel kept clean at all times. A visit to the mountains a must. HIND we miss you.More
We have just returned back from a weeks stay at the Aqua Fun Club in Marrakech. We were initially supposed to be going to Sharm El Sheikh but we had to change last minute. We were pleasantly surprised with this hotel after reading some of the other reviews on here. The hotel is clean and although it is looking tired in some places it is far from derelict as some have explained it! We arrived at around 21:20pm and check in was swift and pleasant. We were taken straight to our rooms after being told that we could still get something to eat in the main restaurant. We were impressed with the size of the rooms, we had 2 family suites and they were clean, comfortable and spacious. We found all the animation staff to be friendly and great fun. Especially Bisou and Tito! The whole team made each and every kid feel special and they are excellent at their jobs. Other staff around the hotel were not so friendly. They were never rude to us but some did come across like they just didn't want to be there! Especially the older pizza chef and the restaurant manger, who on one occasion we witnessed him shouting at other members of staff in front of guests. The bar staff also just seemed to get on with their jobs, barely speaking unless they really had to. Although Hanane on the pool bar was lovely and always had a big smile for you. Other negatives would be the pools are far too cold (not the hotels fault!) Too many wasps! (Also not the hotels fault!) and as only 1 restaurant was open for main meal times we did have to queue a long time for certain foods and at bars. I can only imagine that the hotel at this time of year would usually be on shut down and have cut down on staff and restaurants and bars opening to compensate for this. However due to the situation in Egypt the hotel was a lot busier than it would have been this time of year. There was plenty of choice for food and although repetitive even the fussiest of eaters would have no problems finding something. It was also a shame that ALL the slides were not on ALL day. These were done per block and usually on for 2 hours at a time. Even the small kids slides were turned off. Again I am presuming this was to save money/manpower. Upon checking out on our last day we were told that we had to pay 150dirham (£10.00) for a damaged towel that the cleaners had apparently found! We were told that they found it a week ago however the note stapled to the bag and the bag itself had the 18th on (which was the day before!) Also the towel was absolutely sogging wet through. It was stained with black and bright yellow marks, burnt with what looked like cigarette holes and was covered in what I could only describe as glitter!!! It definitely did not come from our room!! After 25 minutes and several phone calls from the receptionist to the manager we were told "OK you pay 100dirham"!!! We refused to pay and eventually they apologised and said we did not have to pay as they could not prove the towel was from our room. This did put a bit of a dampener on our leaving but all in all we have a pleasant and enjoyable holiday and I think some people would benefit from remembering that 5* in these countries is not the same as 5* in others and you would also serve well to remember what you paid!!! Was well worth the money and I would return to this hotel.More

Amazing Kids Clubs Sabrina and Bisou were fantastic
Firstly I would like to say thank you to Sabrina and Bisou from the kids club. Sabrina you are an absolute Angel with the kids and you could see how much all the kids loved both yourself and Bisou and had a wonderful time. I would also like to thank Tito and the rest of the animation team who always acknowledged you and all of them worked so hard, they deserve a medal instead of a particularly nasty review. It was so good to see the young ones at the kids club enjoying themselves so much, wither it be playing at pirates spraying the animation team or their parents with water sprayers or shouting PIZZA with their little chefs hats on. They also had fun in the afternoon session by being taken for ice-cream and playing in the heated swimming pools. Regarding a reference to being able to purchase drugs from the kids club earlier, it is such a shame that some people can say whatever they like on these forums and get away with it, do they realise how much these throw away comments can destroy peoples reputations and livelihoods. I for one would say I would be horrified if I thought this was the case, and from my view, I am 100% sure this is definitely not true. If the person who made the comment earlier feels this to be true, she should either report it to the police, or when she realizes how silly it was - apologise. The food was lovely, my gripe would be it was not hot enough, as mentioned in earlier reviews there were also long queues for drinks. I am sure this is something which could be rectified if management took this on board and put a little more effort into organisation. I have never seen so many large lovely pools in one hotel, unfortunately they were all freezing and hardly anyone used them. (Of course this was not the hotels fault.) The hotel was very clean and the staff friendly, although to be honest there were a lot of flies and wasps (none of us got stung once, although the bar staff did a few times a day). The rooms were spacious and comfortable. A couple of hiccups were rectified immediately, thanks Mustafa. Weather was great. I would definitely go back maybe in April or November next year, especially since the main reason we were there was to take our grand daughter a way for a week and she had a ball.More

Disappointing break in this Tired Hotel & Poor All Inclusive
Firstly I am sorry that this is so Negative but we were very underwhelmed with our visit. We arrived for a 5 day break in November with our 2 year old daughter. We weren't expecting much which was probably a good thing as we would of been more disappointed than we actually were! We arrived with 3 other couples on the same airport transfer and it still took over half an hour to check in! We paid our local tax and filled out forms and were given a keycard for a room and sent on our way. NO information given on the hotel by the staff and we had to find everything out on our own. The only information we were given was a timetablefor the all inclusive which was incorrect anyway as the Italian restaurant wasn't open in the evening! The room was OK. Clean but tired. Probably good 10 years ago. Don't expect your room to be made up everyday ours was done 3/5 days. Towels seem to be randomly removed from your room everyday without replacements which came late pm. There was an old fridge in the room which being a 5* Hotel I would have expected this to be stocked with a few soft drinks at least but nothing. The outside and pool areas were great even if the pools were freezing cold. Clean and when parts of the waterpark were open they were great. Please note that only 1 section of the waterpark was open at 1 time. Maybe because we were out of season? I would also like to praise the lifeguards on duty who were responsive to a lady who came off a slide and was unconscious in the water. He was in there straight away and really did a great job. Food was average at best. Every meal was in the same area (accept the Italian which is open 3-5pm?!?) there was a lot of choice but all very bland. Highlights were the bread and the beef tagine was pretty good. If I booked to stay at a 2-3* Hotel I would of been happy with the food and drink but I booked this expecting 4-5* so was left disappointed. Drinks were basic and served in small plastic cups..... As long as they hasn't run out! Drinks after dinner were a nightmare, approx 400 people staying at the resort and only 1 place to go with 1 bar and 1-2 members of staff serving (slowly.) You can imagine what the queues were like! The Gym was the worst I have ever seen. Broken equipment, no water dispenser, dirty, neither treadmill worked. Not worth visiting at all. Other positives were the children's entertainment and on the whole the staff were OK... When they weren't arguing and storming off! Would we go back to Marrakech, yes! The November weather was great and prices at this time are competitive. Would we go back or recommend this hotel. I'm sorry but No. We both have realised how good our last All inclusive break was at the Royal Palace in Antalya which was also graded as a 5* but the difference between these 2 hotels isn't something you could compare in the slightest.More
