Olympic Lagoon

This hotel pulls out all the stops – it has 7 pools, including a lazy river, plus a quartet of restaurants.

Location-wise, this hotel makes things easy. Just over the road – about 5 minutes’ walk – is a sandy beach with super-shallow water. And less than 10 minutes by cab or bus gets you to lively Ayia Napa.

The hotel is big on pools – 7 in all, including one just for adults, and a family-friendly lazy river. The restaurant scene ticks off 4 places, one of which is a retro-style diner. There’s a great bar for cocktails, too.

Kanika Allstars team absolutely brilliant, entertaining both during the day and at night. A1 for Sam and all his team. Hotel clean and all staff very friendly and helpful. Definitely would recommend. 10 minute taxi ride to Ayia Napa for €8, 10 - 15 minute walk to Waterworld. Plenty of activities for kids and adults. Football pitch and tennis court. Water volleyball, basketball, darts, archery, kids mini pool disco, water aerobics...something for everyone!More

Good family holiday

Looking through our holiday photos reminded me to write review of this place! Stayed here April 2015 on family holiday (two boys going on 5 and 1). Overall we really enjoyed our holiday esp my eldest who loved the mini disco and kids club. Food offerings were good, and nice spacious grounds so no problem getting suitable sun loungers. My only slight criticism although not necessarily hotels fault, is that the time we were there, there were a couple of groups who quite enjoyed their all inclusive alcohol and were a bit loud and lairy! Me and my eldest went on a trip into Ayia Napa for their good friday easter parade organised by the hotel and Eli, and despite the thunder and lighting really enjoyed it. Have to also commend the hotel for their customer service. We bought one of the mini disco cds for my son to bring home as he loved the songs. Unfortunately when we got home, we discovered the cd wasnt working properly. However, upon contacting the hotel, we were promptly posted another one by Martina which I was very grateful for. Based on our holiday, we would like to some day get to try out their Paphos hotel too!More

Friends wedding at Nissi Beach 02 - 12/08/2015 (Welsh Tribe)

Party of six, three to a room, we was in the standard rooms, we found them to be a little small for three people, but would be OK for two. Did ask for upgrade to larger rooms, but would have been expensive for the whole party. The room key cards can play up, but reception staff always there to help you. Had to pay to keep room longer on departure day. Sometimes hard to get sunbeds for all of the party. WiFi OK but would loose connection. GOOD POINTS We found the resort to be very clean and tidy, the local drinks was OK. Would have been nice to have a local cider. Main restaurant, the choice of food was that good that we didn't bother to book at the two specialised restaurants. The toilets around the resort was always clean and tidy. All the staff in all departments made this a great holiday and were always happy to make your stay a holiday to remember. The evening entertainment was very good and stopped at a sensible time. The resort even had staff walking around the pools cleaning your sun glasses. Taxis outside the resort always a good service. We took a business card off the driver and used him for most of our journeys, he kept the price down for using him all the time. Didn't get a dive in, but nice beaches to snorkel from. Great place to be busy or just relax. Great rock jump at Nissi beach, shouldn't at 56, but who dares lol Next time hope to get out and see more of the island. Resort management, give yourself a good pat on the back for running a fantastic resort. Would recommend this resort and will return one day. Once again Thank YouMore

Ampthegraoes,

Not quite as good as we expected.

We arrived at the hotel at 11pm and had an efficient check in. We were told that the 50's diner was staying open late to allow us to eat if required (food wasn't great!) A porter showed us to our room and we had a quick walk around the grounds which appeared to be lovely. The food in the Buffet Restaurant was great all week with plenty of choice and we ate there for all meals except for one evening when we went to the Japanese restaurant Kiku (one visit per stay). The pool area was well maintained and the pools were always warm and the perfect depth for all guests (1.3m) the pool area isn't huge and with lots of children playing with water bombs, lilos and balls etc it wasn't very relaxing but great if you're with the kids. Adult only pool was lovely, very quiet all week and so seemed a little pointless to have- it may have been better as an area for adults and older kids too that just wanted to swim etc. My biggest gripe is the 2x nights of disturbed sleep due to inconsiderate guests smoking in their rooms resulting in the fire alarm going off 2/3/4 times per night up to the early hours of the morning which isn't ideal when you have young children. The hotel staff then paced the corridors talking loudly on Wilkie talkies making even more noise when resetting/checking the alarm system. The walls to the rooms are paper thin- we could hear the conversations of the guests in the room above us and other guests walking/talking and even going to the toilet in the rooms either side of us!! Due to hotel location there were often groups of young guests congregating in the corridors talking loudly having had a lot to drink. Our room (416) was infested with ants. They were literally everywhere! We had to check the kids beds before the could get in, we were bitten in the night and we had to even shake hundreds of them out of our cases before we could pack to come home! My husband spent one evening blocking all the little holes up with loo roll to try to stop them. On day 4 we had to evacuate the hotel due to a fire within the hotel- the whole event was handled relatively well. Some guests said they had seen smoke for nearly 3 hours prior to the evacuation and claimed to have soot on their balcony. An English rep confirmed that there was a small fire and even said "don't worry it's not uncommon to be honest" the next day we received a letter saying thank you for our cooperation during the fire drill!! All in all if you want somewhere with good food and a good pool area and you're not bothered about having disturbed sleep then go here. If you want a beach/pool holiday with good bedrooms etc then maybe reconsider. Wifi connection was next to useless. I personally wouldn't go back to this hotel.More
