Olympic Lagoon

This hotel pulls out all the stops – it has 7 pools, including a lazy river, plus a quartet of restaurants.

Location-wise, this hotel makes things easy. Just over the road – about 5 minutes’ walk – is a sandy beach with super-shallow water. And less than 10 minutes by cab or bus gets you to lively Ayia Napa.

The hotel is big on pools – 7 in all, including one just for adults, and a family-friendly lazy river. The restaurant scene ticks off 4 places, one of which is a retro-style diner. There’s a great bar for cocktails, too.

Week not long enough

Stayed for a week in October 2015. All inclusive. Check into hotel quick. Rooms comfortable, not big but good size, fairly quiet. Entertainment team very good, really worked hard. Bar staff very good, quality of drinks okay, not great. Food in restaurant excellent, staff in restaurant excellent also. Pools clean, cold due to it being October, lazy river could have had more rings to float on.. Beach is five minute walk. Beach is very nice. Lots of wedding parties, we ignored them, some groups were louder than others. Overall a lovely holiday and would visit again.More

Wonderful relaxing week in the sun, great hotel with a couple of minuses

4 adults and two teens age 15 and 17. At check in we were told we had an upgraded room which turned out to be a double room with television with sliding partition doors to a sitting area with an extra bed for our son, an extra TV and a balcony overlooking a field, where you could watch the sun go down - nice and quiet. The bathroom as others have mentioned was rather dated and on the small side, with a dreadful hairdryer but it sufficed. There was a kettle and tea and coffee which was a nice bonus and the fridge had soft drinks and water, the aircon was great. The other half of our party who had arrived 3 days previously and also were told they had been upgraded were not quite so fortunate - their room whilst overlooking the toddler pool was one that had been squeezed into a small space in the building, was a strange shape and had the smallest balcony in the hotel, but did have a larger bathroom. Never a problem getting a sunbed every day and the pool and surrounding areas were spotlessly clean and yes someone does come round and clean your sunglasses! The lazy river was very pleasant and all of the pools were spotlessly clean. The dining areas mostly outside were lovely, with views overlooking the garden and the outside lounge area had plenty of seating and was delightful to sit in at night, The staff were wonderful, nothing was too much bother especially Barbara . Five star service was when a birthday cake was delivered albeit at 8.30 in the morning, on our son's birthday, followed by sweets and a vase of flowers in the afternoon - no prompting from us - well done to the staff and management, a lovely touch!! We ate at the Japanese which was good but lacked ambiance but the Captains table we were not impressed with. The main dining experience was very good with fabulous salads and well replenished hot dishes, nothing left lying around for too long. The wines were ok, but the red was always served very cold....the cocktails and sparkling wine were great, as were the soft drinks. The entertainment was hit and miss - the entertainments team had some talented singers and dancers but too "samey" Perhaps it was due to being near then end of the season but they did little during the day to encourage participation - yes I know not everyone wants to join in but I felt they really couldn't be bothered - so low scores there. Across the road a short walk away was a smallish beach with plenty of comfortable sun loungers at a reasonable price, gentle sloping fine golden sand and crystal clear water - beautiful! Weddings....ah yes..there were around 3 a day however they were set away from the hotel, but it was strange to have brides walk past when you were lying on your lounger. This meant that there were large groups of wedding parties at the hotel, whilst there was no raucous behavior it put a different slant on the holiday and it felt less family orientated. Did it spoil our holiday no, would I return - possibly but then again we rarely return to the same hotel twice as there are many to choose from. We will go back to Cyprus as an alternative to the Canaries as it is far less commercialised and the service and people, seem to generally be much better and friendlier. I think however finding a hotel in Cyprus without weddings will be difficult. Over all a lovely hotel, great food lovely setting and super staff - just less weddings would be nice....More

Came here in October for my Friends wedding /Family Holiday, superb Hotel, even though only a 4 Star hotel, the service was 5 star of each staff member, all staff will bend over backwards to help and meet your requirements, plenty to do at hotel, with nice restaurants, gardens and swimming pools. rooms were great, really good size, free Wi-Fi available throughout hotel and have there own mini shop on hotel site. if your going to ayia napa, then you must stay here.More

Amazing Holiday August 2014

Stayed here for 2 weeks in August 2014.. Arrived quite late however everything was perfect room was ready to go and after a long flight and journey from airport to hotel the concierge took our bags so we could look around the hotel, have a drink and relax to enjoy the start of the holiday.. Everything was perfect FANTASTIC sea view very large room and the variety of food each night to a very high standard you couldn't fault. Staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough to help.. Animations team were your standard holiday team great atmosphere and got everyone involved. One thing I MUST state is we DID NOT have to rush for sunbeds in the mornings some days we could get up at 11am there would be lots available however if you do want an umbrella may be best to get up early as it does get very hot.. The lazy river is by far the best thing about it, sooooo relaxing with slow moving and chilled out music this was a must for us every day!! The local bus is just a short distance away also to take you to ayia napa town it does get very hot though!!! Nissi beach is also a short distance away (walkable) lovely sand and beautiful clear water GREAT RELAXING day The Japanese restaurant is A MUST it is delicious we ate there twice (restaurant onsite) quiet setting very authentic. Weddings however happen everyday I don't know who was more uncomfortable us or the bride?? but great setting for a wedding also. Over all a fantastic holiday and I will definitely be returning in future!!More

Rebecca G,

We returned back from the Olympic Lagoon on Friday 30th Oct and have missed it ever since. I stayed for 5 nights with my partner and our 6 year old boy. The room was fantastic (Junior suite), spacious, clean and comfy. The food was absolutely delicious (and we can be quite hard to please). There was plenty of choice every day / evening and everything we tried was great. My 6 year old was very happy with the food too. The drinks at the bar were really nice and the Sushi restaurant was also thoroughly enjoyable. The pool area was lovely - we all really enjoyed the lazy river (a great touch). Finally, on to the staff - WOW! Everyone we met was so lovely - warm, friendly and very helpful. I can be quite critical of customer service but have to say that the staff at the Olympic Lagoon were superb! I even lost my ring and emailed when I returned to see if they could find it. I was delighted when they emailed to say that they had found the ring and would be happy to send on to me. My goodness - top service. We will definitely return to this hotel again - it exceeded all my expectations!More
