Olympic Lagoon

This hotel pulls out all the stops – it has 7 pools, including a lazy river, plus a quartet of restaurants.

Location-wise, this hotel makes things easy. Just over the road – about 5 minutes’ walk – is a sandy beach with super-shallow water. And less than 10 minutes by cab or bus gets you to lively Ayia Napa.

The hotel is big on pools – 7 in all, including one just for adults, and a family-friendly lazy river. The restaurant scene ticks off 4 places, one of which is a retro-style diner. There’s a great bar for cocktails, too.

Great Hotel

Arrived to welcome drinks, given a token for a snack and a drink as we arrived late, taken to room on a buggy. Unfortunately we were given a junior suite at first when we had booked a family junior suite (first only has a balcony, we had paid extra for a garden) but looking at some of the reviews this seems to be quite common when the hotel is busy. We were moved the next day with no fuss. Rooms facing the pool are much better than others, I would have been quite disappointed with a room at the back. The hotel grounds are beautiful. Pools are brilliant, little girl would have stayed on the pirate ship all holiday if she could. Food was better than other all inclusives we have been to and with the Japanese, Captains Deck and Diner you get variety throughout the week. The fresh omelettes at breakfast were lovely. Only slight negative are the cats around the outdoor seating area of restaurant, not everyone likes cats and certainly not around food! Drinks were good, lots of choice including cocktails. In house entertainment is excellent. I have never used a kids club on holiday before as I am wary of how safe they are but this one really is excellent, staff are good and the buzzer system means you can relax, little girl tried it a couple of times (plus it is cool which gives little ones a break from the August heat!) Good location for beach, Ayia Napa and not too far to travel from airport. Some reviews say overrun with weddings, I wouldn't say overrun we only really noticed the weddings when in the lazy river and it was quite nice to see everyone dressed up while we floated past! We would come back but would also like to see other parts of Cyprus so may try the new hotel.More

Having now holidayed in Cyprus for several years, staying in many 4/5 star rated hotels we thought we'd try the Olympic Lagoon Resort and having read all the previous reviews had high expectations. Unfortunately we were not quite so impressed and found the hotel lacked a lot of the finishing touches found elsewhere. There was no welcome drink on arrival, nor any robes or slippers in the room or any turn down service in the evening. All standard at the others we have experienced. Having checked in we we taken to our room, a Junior Suite with Garden, where we were disappointed to find the bathroom was far from 'spacious and luxurious' (See Hotel Website's Description); although we're sure everything was clean, the shower curtain and tiling were all showing signs of age, and we're no better than 2 Star standard. We requested a room upgrade, that we were more than willing to pay for, but with no response decided to unpack and get on with our holiday. The room itself was lovely with nice quality furnishings and plenty of storage. The patio and garden were excellent and secluded, a real sun trap! It also didn't take long to notice that the 'free wi-fi' (Hotel Website's Description) was non existent in our room, and despite a few discussions with reception this never improved. Overall the wi-fi was good in and around the pool, gardens, lobby's and restaurant's, although a little slow at times. The main restaurant is average based on previous experience, and we have certainly experienced better choice and quality elsewhere. The entertainment team are excellent with the usual array of daytime and evening activities to keep you occupied, and the evening entertainment is better than average. Overall the hotel is 'nice', and all the communal areas are well kept, modern and clean, but the quality of the bathroom and the poor Wi-Fi make this hotel only average compared to others.More

"Brilliant holiday"

We travelled to the Olympic Lagoon resort for a combined holiday and our Daughters wedding. From the moment we arrived we found all the staff very friendly and helpful. The rooms were large and very clean. The quality, variation and quantity of the food was amazing. Especially the Japanese restaurant. When the wedding day arrived I was concerned as there had been no run through but, it was so well organised that the whole thing flowed so well that it felt so natural. The hair and make up team really excelled. The little extra's like cleaning of your sun glasses, providing fruit around the pool and the towel animals in the room are nice. The staff are a credit to the hotel and made this the best holiday we have ever had. If you are thinking of getting married abroad then this is well worth it.More
