This hotel pulls out all the stops – it has 7 pools, including a lazy river, plus a quartet of restaurants.
Location-wise, this hotel makes things easy. Just over the road – about 5 minutes’ walk – is a sandy beach with super-shallow water. And less than 10 minutes by cab or bus gets you to lively Ayia Napa.
The hotel is big on pools – 7 in all, including one just for adults, and a family-friendly lazy river. The restaurant scene ticks off 4 places, one of which is a retro-style diner. There’s a great bar for cocktails, too.

My partner and I stayed at the Olympic Lagoon for 9 nights and were initially surprised that it was smaller than we thought it would be. We stayed in the Fishermans village which was fantastic and was in a much quieter and relaxed part of the hotel complex. One bug bear of mine is not being able to get a sun lounger unless you get up at 6am to reserve one and if this is an issue then staying at the Fishermans village is the answer and there are more than enough to go round. The main family pools also had many sun loungers available but mainly in the garden area. We originally requested a lower ground floor but they were unable to allocate this so we accepted the upper floor room. You don't get sun loungers on the upper floors and obviously no walk in pool from your room but you do get a lot more privacy so it depends what you want. The room was smaller than I thought with the four poster bed taking up half the size of the room but it had a large screen tv and a jacuzzi bath. First thing I must say is that the staff were exceptional and definitely the best we have ever come across. They work tirelessly and are always there when you need anything. I've never seen staff refill your drinks so quickly in an all inclusive hotel before and they clean your table as soon as you finish your meal. The all inclusive drinks were fine and some cocktails were included. The rum and coke wasn't the nicest I've tasted but the beer was fine. The pools were excellent and spotlessly clean and the lazy river was amazingly tranquil and peaceful. The restaurants in general were excellent. The main restaurant had a various choice of meals and only on the odd occasion was the food luke warm and on 2 out of 3 days the boiled eggs were stone cold but generally the food was hot and plenty of choice. The American diner had meals cooked to order and was lovely and you can also pre-book the Japanese restaurant or the Captains deck which we didn't try. There were lots of weddings during our stay and sometimes it felt like a production line of weddings. The gardens that the ceremony took place were close to the lazy river and many time swimmers would be gawping at the wedding in there dripping wet and scantily clad swimwear which did spoil the ambiance somewhat. There was also an unsightly piece of derelict land by the lazy river that was an eyesore and was only obscured by a piece of worn out tarpaulin. The evening entertainment was a lot better than I thought it would be. There was a quiz followed by bingo and then the Kanika all stars would perform a show. We watched them perform Rock of Ages and The Jersey Boys both based on the London musicals. If that wasn't your cup of tea then the Cinnamon bar for adults only after 9pm had a singer on but most people stayed down by the poolside watching the shows. We also hired a car for 2 days and the Olympic Lagoon reception arranged this for us. One thing we like about Cyprus is that they are never overly strict when it comes to hiring a car so you get what you pay for and they don't bother checking for scratches and dints as the car we had had plenty of those to start with! We drove to Limassol which was lovely and clean and very quiet and the following day we drove to Nicosia where it was 106 degrees! We went to the beach most days and if it's wall to wall sunshine you want with no cloud and lovely people then Cyprus is definitely the place to come.More

Just keeps getting better
We stayed at the Olympic lagoon last year and had a brilliant time . And this year was even better. Last year we stayed in their Olympic bay hotel across the road that was lovely but this year we stayed at the fisher mans village and I think this is far more superior than the Olympic bay . The reason for this is because the rooms are bigger the balcony is much bigger and not only do you have a jacuzzi with a shower in it but you also have a walk in shower I think they should give this a higher room rating than the Olympic bay rooms . The pool at the fisher mans village is lovely it's adults only in this part so there are no children allowed in this pool and there is also a waiter service around this pool so you don't have to move all day if you don't want to. The food is lovely and I'm am the fussiest eater you can imagine and if there wasn't anything that I would eat in the main reset rant we eat at the 50s diner and the hot dogs in there are amazing. The staff always have a smile for you and are always willing to help you. There are a total of 5 pools and 3 of those are adult only and if it gets to hot there is an in door pool that is cold and is lovely to cool off in. The entertainment team announce activerties that they are doing around the pool and every day at 12 the do a kids pool mini disco which all the children love. The entertainment team work every day of the week day and night and they do a kids disco from 8pm for about 45 mins and then bingo and lucky 13 this is where you buy a raffle ticket for 1 euro and there are 13 balls 1 yellow and 12 pink pick the yellow ball and you win the money if you pick pink it runs over to the next night the first week we were there the pot had built up to over 4000 euros and as it was only the yellow ball left the person who's ticket got drawn won straight away. The entertainment team work so hard and if you are lucky enough to see their jersey boys act it is absolutely amazing so are all the other shows they do but this one really stands out . Your entertainment team are Lucy , ollie , Kyle , Sarah , lorna, Lauren , georgie ,kasie and cirian sorry if I have spelt names wrong but what was nice was 2 of them were there from last year and they remembered us from last year which was lovely. On our first morning we went through the pool bar and the bar tender Steve came up to us and said lovely to see you again and shook our hands and remembered our names with all the people he sees through out the year and he remembered us which was amazing also a glass collector from around the pool remembered us from last year it felt like you were with friends for 2 weeks . While I was there it was my 40th birthday and I got a bottle of champagne and a cake and card delivered to our room from the hotel and flowers and sweets from the maid service it just made my holiday a little more special. There are kids clubs but can't comment on them as I don't have children but from what other parents said they hardly saw their children as they were there all day and the teens club boys loved the bloke who did football his name is vinny. There is so much to say about this hotel and it all positive they helped me when my dad wasn't well and checked later that he was ok it's these personal touches that makes this hotel so special defiantly deserves to be the number 1 hotel in cyprus. If your returning to this hotel or this will be your first time you'll have an amazing time . They do have free wifi and it worked fine when we were there but as u can imagine there is a lot of people using their internet so it can bit slow at peak times . On the whole you'll have a great time and won't want to leave . Already saving the pennies to go again so see you all again soon at the Olympic lagoon .More

great holiday,fantastic wedding
First thing that strikes you about this hotel is how clean all areas are.Staff work tirelessly to keep ontop of cleaning. Food was outstanding. Choice and theme days were brilliant. The option to eat in one of the other restaurants is an added bonus. The hotel should pride itself on staff alone. From cleaners, bar staff, waiters, reception.Everyone was so friendly and welcoming.Valentinos in the bar was brilliant. Our wedding was fantastic.JODIE,ANTONIO from the hotel and CHARLIE from Thomas cook arranged everythink. The venue we chose was OLYMPIC GARDENS for the ceremony was so beautiful.Really recommend it and the OLD WATERMILL SQUARE for the reception again looked outstanding on the night.Food and waiters on the day could not fault. We recommend this hotel to anyone for their wedding.Just make sure you book early as it gets booked up quickly. AUG 2014More

Summer Holiday 2014
Our stay at the Olympic Lagoon Resort was for 2 weeks. We booked a room in the Fishermans Village part of the hotel and was delighted to have a room with direct pool access as requested. We had clean room and pool towels left everyday and had both a jacuzzi and walk in shower in our bathroom. Our room was kept clean and fresh by Barbara the maid. Each evening we recieved 'turn down' service and returned to our room to find chocolates on our pillows. The service around the pool was very good- drinks were brought to your sunbed- 'Thankyou Andri' along with cold towels, melon and chocolate treats throughtout the day. There was a large selection of drinks available in the All-Inclusive package and the food in the restaurants- breakfast, lunch and dinner was varied, plentiful and tasty. We visited the Captains Deck restaurant twice and enjoyed the typical Cypriot food although left feeling very full! Also ate at the American Diner for a change one evening- massive burgers, hot dogs, fries and milkshakes- nice atmosphere.. Did not try the Japanese so cannot comment. Lots of weddings taking place but this was not a problem for us as with some previous reviewers. All the staff we encountered were friendly and polite especially Tony in the restaurant and Stefan who served us our drinks in the evening. Becky the First Choice rep was very pleasant and has only been at the hotel since June but seemed to know her job well. We had a lovely relaxing time at the Olympic Lagoon Resort and may be looking into booking up at the new hotel in Paphos which opens in June 2015.More
