We stayed in room 218 - a beach bungalow - one of the best rooms on the island - rooms 215 to 220 all good rooms. We went to the Maldives for my husband's 50th birthday and we both had a fantastic time. The lagoon, the colourful sea life, the food, the staff - everything was great - couldn't fault anything. We went on dolphin safari but in speed boat which was well worth the extra money. We went to Male for a day trip - very hot and dirty but worth going for the experience. On my husband's birthday the staff really put themselves out. They decorated our table and he got a birthday cake and they even decorated our bed. Fantastic holiday - will never forget it. P.S. if you book your seats on the Dreamliner note row 37 has no windows!More
This for me was the perfect holiday and resort, couldn't fault it.The staff were all very friendly and helpful.Great range of food, and the quality was first class. We had a beach villa 216,probably one of the best, straight onto the beach, then upgraded to a water suit, all very very nice. Will go again.A special mention to Zita the Thompsons rep, outstandingly good.Thompsons also deserve a mention the flight times,Dreamliner, and service all good, shame they have decided in there wisdom to stop flying to the maldives,BIG MISTAKEMore

Stayed at this hotel for 15 days with my husband. We were in an overwater suite, which was great, spacious and very clean. The staff was friendly and always tried to do whatever they can to help you with any issue you might have. The beach was ok but nothing really special. We went HB, assuming that the prices, since you are in a resort would be moderate, so we could have our drinks on the beach, without a much extra cost. But...everything is too much expensive. You don't even get free water with meals, which was a must in all of our trips until now. Come on, 2,5$ for a small bottle of water, 6,5 $ for a small beer and let's not talk about cocktails and the prices of mini bar. Wi-fi is charged and with what you already payed for the accommodation this is unacceptable. Also the time of the meals, especially breakfast, was so early in the morning and only for two hours. We suppose to be on vacation. We don't want to wake up early in the morning and run to catch up for meals.as a result we didn't have any breakfast during our stay there. We are fortunate enough to have many trips all around the world. I have never see anything like this in all of our trips. If you appreciate your money don't go at this island. Spend it somewhere else. More

This was the third time we have been here and it just gets better every time, we flew on the Dreamliner which was okay but we can't understand how they managed to run out of meals partway through the service, this is the second time this has happened on Thomson flights we have been on, the reason the cabin crew gave was that the ground staff in the U.K. forgot to load them all, really? We were met at Male by the Thomson rep Zeta who soon had everyone on the boats to get to the Island, the boat trip is only about 25 minutes and we were met with a cold drink and towels and quickly checked in and taken to our rooms, we stayed in a beach bungalow which is well worth the upgrade and quite honestly much better than the overwater rooms, we were right on the beach and every morning saw the people who were staying in the overwater rooms coming down to the beach, we just opened the patio doors and stepped straight onto the sand and into the sea. The staff on the Island are the most helpful and polite staff we have ever seen, nothing is to much trouble and they are always cheerful and smiling and take time to speak to everyone, lots of firms in the U.K. could learn a lot from them. The food was as good as ever, there is always plenty of choice and they have a different theme every night, a great idea to be able to try food from different cultures. The only downside to the holiday was finding out that Thomson are pulling out of The Maldives from next month, I believe Virgin have taken some rooms but I don't know how easy it is going to be getting flights there as there will not be any direct flights. I must mention Zeta the rep here, we never had to see her as we never had any problems but we saw plenty of her, she was always available and seemed do a daily walk around the Island always stopping for a chat, she is an asset to the Island and I hope she gets sorted out with a new job soon. If you are going here soon enjoy, I'm certain you will. Thank you again Chaaya Dhonveli for a wonderful holiday.More

Great value, wonderful service, food and a fantastic resort!
This was our second trip to Chaaya, and this time we opted for the Overwater Suite (last year we had an overwater bungalow) The Suite is lovely and very big, and nothing beats stepping straight into the sea from your own terrace. The food and service is nothing short of excellent, and in comparison to much more expensive Islands, Chaaya definitely holds its own. Just across the Lagoon is the Four Seasons where a week will set you back £20k!,...and yet here you are in a suite at a fraction of the cost! All the staff are suoer friendly and went above and beyond to mae you happy, including making animals from palm leaves etc,...its the little touches! A great holiday, and highly recommended.More
