SunCity Hotel

With this hotel there’s a pick of pools, and the famous Blue Lagoon is a free bus ride away.

This place is set in pretty gardens with mountain views. It has a great pool scene thanks to the pick of a lively or quiet number, and on the food front there are some nice touches – like the freshly baked pizzas.

Everything’s within easy reach here. Less than 5 minutes’ walk away is a prom lined with shops, bars and restaurants, with a shingle beach in front. And there’s a free shuttle bus to the nearby Blue Lagoon.

Better than average

First time at Suncity so we were not sure what to expect. Upon our arrival check in was smooth as I had completed the documentation on line before our arrival( a good touch) We were shown to our room very spacious with a large balcony area(unlike most of the other rooms) The bathroom was slightly dated but functional with combined bath /shower. Tv with the usual limited English stations, Mini fridge with bottled water in topped up daily. Tea & coffee making facilities also topped up daily. Clean towels were put in our room every day. The food overall was good but not brilliant , there was the usual choices for all inclusive but it was a little on the bland side. Food in the snack bar lacked variety. . The layout of the hotel was good and it had it's own hair & nails salon as well as a barber for Turkish shaves and sauna & Turkish bath. I didn't watch any of the entertainment but I am assured (by other guests that it was good) We had a problem with flooding in our room for several days due to heavy rain... the sheer volume of rain was too much for the small drain to cope with. I spoke to reception .. several hours later I spoke to the travel rep.. & customer services. The hotel reception thought it was a problem with the cleaning. I tried explaining to them it was a technical problem, but even after dragging the travel rep to our room to show her the situation they still insisted on blaming the cleaner. I was mortified to find the next day the girl that had been out room cleaner had changed and when I enquired as to her whereabouts I was told she had gone. I was given several stories when I enquired as to Where & why she had gone...none of which I believed. Wi Fi was hit and miss round the hotel pool. bars & room areas working some of the time . Only guaranteed connection was in the reception area/bar. In general the staff were all friendly and helpful and the guys on the pool bar made our holiday. Big thanks to Mehmet, Mohamoud & Fete for all your hard work. We never had to wait for drinks they were always quick to serve with a smile , polite friendly hardworking and professional. Happy to chat when they got chance. Keep up the good work guys.More

Eighth time to OLIDENIZ and never fails, second year at sun city. Reception very low key but had emailed 48 hrs with requests and was duly rewarded. Room very good just as we had asked for, very spacious and clean but cleaning did deteriate over the 14 days, beds changed daily but floor was not cleaned as nothing was moved in the room or bathroom but this was just a minor fault. Food very good did not bother to go out for any meals, menu was a little repetitive but still good, Dress code did disapoint as some made the effort others did not, Entertainment was very good the best we have seen in all the years of travel. Service of all staff excellant, all very friendly and helpfull Tweedy set me up for a turkish bath a must have while you are there well worth the money, Location of hotel is ideal 100yds to centre of town, after evening meal we would watch the hotel show and then walk to the night life and people watch very relaxing for us over 60s. Very easy to catch a bus to Hisaronu/Fethya. Excellent holiday Excellent hotel would highly recomendMore

Not too bad

When we arrived it was quite late and we are a family of 5, with 3 young children and had paid for a family room, which we were shown to,but this was up 2 flights of stairs which was not great for us with 2 buggies, so the next day the staff were understanding and happy to move us to a room that we did not need to use steps for, but I must admit we were really disappointed with this room, even tho we were assured it was a refurbished room, would dread to see the non refurbished rooms! The small balcony looked out onto a Wall and we never got any sun into the room, it was so dark and dingy and felt damp. Our swim wear never got dried when we hung it out. Even tho you don't spend all your holiday in the room it is also nice to look forward to going back to the room to get ready before going out, but we spent as little time as possible as it was quite depressing in there. Also it is a big put off that a family room does not have a bath so I had to try and shower my young children, and my youngest who is under 2 would scream when having a shower. I would of put him in the sink but there were no plugs. So I think as a family room there needs to be improvements and things considered what a family would need. I can't fault the maid, who was very sweet and always cleaned the room nicely. I'm afraid to say another let down was the kids club, I didn't really feel that a lot went on here, unless you were prepared to keep paying for a sand painting or a Skirt to be designed. There never seemed to be many activities that went on in there for the children, maybe because we went at the end of the season and it was all coming to the end, which is what I also put the choice of ice cream flavours down to. There would be either strawberry or vanilla sometimes you would get chocolate and on the last few days of the holiday nothing at all as it was end of the season, this was also the same for the entertainment, I expected something on every night, but it's a shame when we are still on our holiday and have paid for it. the hotel scenery was very nice with the back drop of the mountains and the gardens were very pretty and the staff were friendly. Stayed at Suncity a few weeks ago with my partner. Was an amazing experience from start to finish, staff, food, accommodation, all brilliant. Massive shout out to Bob and Cetin who were both incredibly welcoming, friendly and great fun. Two cherries on top of an already impressive cake. Will definitely return! Our only tiny downside was that the food labelling could be a little clearer. For us (a fussy eater and a vegetarian) we struggled to actually determine what was in the dishes. But once we figured it out we really enjoyed the food! More

Jack D,

October Half Term

Booked a week's holiday at Suncity in Oludeniz on the strength of previous reviews submitted here on Tripadvisor, and we were not disappointed. Arrived late Saturday night but we explained that we were hungry and were showed to the snack bar by the night manager straight away. Rooms were of a reasonable size and were cleaned every day with frequent (daily?) changes of sheets and towels. Pool area was good even if water a bit cold due to time of year. Food was abundant! If I have to be slightly critical it is to say that some of the food was bland with little in the way of spices or seasoning, but that's just my personal taste and I appreciate that the hotel has to cater for all ages and tastes. Never got to the beach club - maybe next time? In terms of location the hotel is 5 to 10 minutes walk to what I'd call "the High Street" but there was no noise from any of the bars/clubs that we could hear. There did seem to be music playing at the hotel most of the day from 07:30 when breakfast service started (could have done without that really) through to midnight. Though the pool bar stays open until 2am the music was turned off/down at midnight. The rooms are arranged in blocks that are set in mature and well maintained grounds that were swept and maintained daily to keep everything looking its best. There's a bit of road noise at the rear of the hotel but nothing obtrusive as the road is far from a main road. There is wifi throughout the hotel but it's not really very good. Download speeds were very slow and I suspect that the service is provided by a cellular link. Good for emails etc but don't expect to stream videos etc. The guests during our stay were mainly British but there were also some Dutch, Germans and Turks which made for a good mix. It looked to us as if there were both travel company booking and independents, such as us. By the way ask the hotel to arrange an airport transfer. It cost £40 each way and was in a decent MPV rather than a tiny local taxi. So as to the $64,000 question - would we go again? On this occasion yes we would.More
