good,don't believe the moans
Just returned after two weeks staying in the mirlos. The staff were very helpful as our daughter is a newly diagnosed celiac and we were concerned as to what she could eat, but they couldn't have been more accommodating.yes the hotel was busy, and yes there was the bug....but the hotel was spotlessly clean and all the staff worked tirelessly.there is always a good mix of food to choose from.and the entertainment was great for kids of all ages. Yes the walls in the rooms are thin but if people had more thought for there neighbours it wouldn't be a problem.we have stayed here many times and would love to return next year.the hotel is great it's the guests that are sometimes the issue.More

Excellent family hotel but busy
Me and my 8 year old son stayed in the tordos on the 19th July, our room was perfect size for us the bathroom was a good size to. The maids came every day to clean the room and give clean towels. The restaurant was very clean and the food was excellent choice for me and my son who is a really fussy eater. The only complaint i have is the sunbeds and entertainment area, if u want a sunbed then u need to be down by the pool for 7am to get a bed and umbrella which they unlock at 8am if u don't then your chance of getting one is very slim. In the night getting a table and chair for the entertainment is nearly impossible because ppl put they're towels on them when they leave the pool which was really frustrating because they start filling up by 6.00pm the restaurant dont opened till 6.30pm so by the time we finished food all tables were gone but managed to get a chair and sit by the stage which some night was ok. The entertainment was brilliant the staff worked so hard to keep everyone happy day and night my son loved every minute of it which was the aim of our hols. I would recommend this hotel to anyone with a family just not in school holiday time unless u don't mind a busy holiday. More

The Manager of this hotel is a very friendly individual and went out of his way to accommodate my family the staff are really friendly and will help when it is possible. I only wish that er had been informed that the snacks available during the day were at the sister hotel and not ours we only found out form another guest two days before we left. More

2nd Stay here, would avoid summer months
Stayed here in October 2012, as a couple, and October 2013 with 2 kids. Absolutely loved everything about it both times. However it was a very different place when we stayed 24th June for a week. Will start with the positives though. We don't understand why people complain so much about the food, we found that there is an amazing choice, and think you'd have to be extremely fussy to not find anything to eat. Especially loved fresh fish and meat cooked whilst you waited. Was very busy in June, but we always got a table without any waiting, but was a bit too noisy sometimes. We have always found the staff to be very helpful and efficient, some are not very talkative, but then we knew barely any Spanish. Some members of staff are really lovely. I did notice, for example, that not many people bothered to speak to or thank the restaurant staff, or people cooking and serving. No wonder they don't always look too happy. Entertainment is mostly brilliant. Love the location, minutes away from gorgeous beaches, lots of bars, shops etc. Rooms weren't enormous but certainly adequate for a couple. Now the bad points..... mainly because of the differences between October and late June.... The hotel was far too busy for my liking. Hated the sun bed situation, I get up early for work, and certainly don't want to have to get up at 7am to save sunbeds. The most annoying thing related to this was that some people would save a group of sunbeds near to the seating/table area, and also put their towels on the table and four chairs too. I thought this was disgusting, and their towels should have been removed. Also, some towels were left most of the day on beds, and no one ever came to use them. Again, towels should be removed after so long if no one comes to them. We didn't use the pool at all for this reason, and it was too busy. The beds are rock hard, no other way to describe them. And, the worst problem for me, and it ruined my holiday totally. On one side we had a group of young French men. We had so much noise from them, from day one, but it took me a couple of days to work out where the noise came from and who it was. I eventually realised the pattern. Their group was split into two rooms, one of which was across the corridor. A couple of them would return to their room at around 4-5 am, talking loudly in the corridor. Then the door would slam, then someone would use the bathroom, then I'd hear phones being plugged in to charge, wardrobe doors slamming open and shut, more laughing, talking etc. I'd drop back to sleep, then would be woken again when a couple more of them returned, this time having to knock loudly on the door because they didn't have the key. Same routine again, with doors banging etc. Then this would all be repeated a while later when the final guests returned. After four nights of only 4/5 hours sleep and patience frayed, I felt terrible. I spent all day sleeping on the beach, or would have to go to bed in the afternoon to catch up. On our next to last night, I finally lost my cool, and opened our door and shouted at them to please be quiet. The next day, very upset, I spoke to someone on reception, wish I'd remembered his name because he was fantastic. Young ish blonde guy with a moustache. He made me feel like my problem was very important and told me that if the same happened again, to ring reception and they would send security up. I should have done this after two nights, not 5 and wish I had. It didn't happen the next night, and I believe that's because they had left. Instead, I was woken at 6.45 by the family on the other side of us. Could hear every single word they said, but probably because they shouted constantly, even shouted down from 6th floor to their daughter in the pool! And also had one really terrible shower whilst listening to the Dad shouting at his daughter, who was crying and screaming that he was hurting her. It isn't a fault of the hotel that such people stay there, and don't care at all if they are disturbing other guests, the family were British by the way! But, I do think that the hotel should not accept same sex parties. Or at least have some signs up outside each lift reminding everyone to respect other guests between midnight and 7am and to keep the noise down. I would definitely return to Mirlos, looking now for next year, but, I wouldn't consider staying any later than May, or earlier than late September/October. Such a shame that selfish individuals spoil a holiday for others.More
