Average overall

Room - we arrived with a family of 4 and were shoehorned into a normal room, no one was interested in our problem. The room was clean and cleaned on a daily basis. However rest of hotel was somewhat grubby. It in no way is a 4 star hotel as greets you on arrival. The hotel is serviced by 2 lifts for 9 floors. Food - The food is okay, 98% is an attempt at British food, so if you are looking to get en experience of Spanish food you will need to go elsewhere. Its the same every day and is totally covered in salt and dressings. Breakfast probably best food of the day. Pools = The pool areas are nice, as usual if you want to get a sunbed you need to go down at silly o'clock. we just went to beach. **WARNING** THERE IS A BACK GATE LEADING INTO THE HOTEL AREA WHICH IS TO BE OPENED WITH YOUR KEYCARD, THE STAFF HAVE DISABLED THIS WITH A NAIL IN LOCK AND I TOLD THEM IT WAS A SECURITY ISSUE AS ANYONE CAN WALK IN, THEY WERE NOT INTERESTED** Another tip is this, its 25euro for a wifi password. the wifi is poor unless you are down in foyer or bar. However if you can survive on facebook for you stay then dont buy a pass. Just download the facebook app (important) and then connect to the hotel wifi, you will not be prompted for a password for wifi when you access facebook or twitter as long as its through the app and not browser/ Location - I recommend a trip to palma and to the aquarium. Marineland is average. Shopping - if you want spanish tact then plenty of shops around, if you want better shops head to the city of palma. Enjoy the holiday, This reviewi is for the Sol Todos hotel.More

Steven B,

Brilliant time in the sol mirlos

This was our 1st time to the sol mirlos tordos. We went for 10 nights with the parents and will return. My two children aged 2 and 4 loved it. The childrens pool is perfect for little ones and the entertainment for them was great. Having the beach and shops out the back gate makes this hotel even more attractive. The entertainment for adults is also good, plenty of exercise classes if u want to burn off the excess cakes and the shows on an evening where aimed towards everybody. As for the food I don't know why people complain there was always something nice to eat, plenty of choice, steak, chicken, fish , vegetables, salads, bread, chips, potatoes, rice, fresh pastas etc. I wonder what people eat at home. This food has a different taste to ours but there was always something nice to eat. We enjoyed every meal. The towel and pool situation is like anywhere u go little space between and no beds by 9am but we always got one! The hotel maybe need to address it but it doesn't put us off going back its the same everywhere u go. The lifts are a nuisance too small for the size of the hotel and the amount of people. The rooms are comfy plenty space and cleaned every day. Only down side we were on floor 9 with two small kids I couldnt really bring myself to open the balcony door I requested a low floor before arrival and when we checked in but they simply said they had no where to move us to. Fantastic time and I'm sad to be home. And to the guy who wrote the review regarding noisy children and unruly, please go to a hotel that isn't child friendly or a remote island, I somehow think the flinstones theme gives it away... There will be children and they can't always be good!!More

Another great holiday

Came back from this hotel 10 days ago. It was the 3rd stay and could not fault the food, the staff who were all very friendly, the cleanliness or the location. My grandchildren had their birthdays during our stay (there were 11 of us) and I paid to have a cake made for them and a visit from Dino in the Flinstones part of the restaurant which the staff made very special. When we went back to our room later they had left some fruit and sweets and also a bottle of wine and 3 wine glasses. A very nice touch. Didn't think the entertainment was quite as good as previous stays but the kids did not get bored. As a previous reviewer stated it was spoilt by the selfish people, some of which admitted to us that they set their alarms for between 5 and 7 am to get towels on the sunbeds and then went back to bed. This was the same people (a party of 4) who not only sat in the same place around the children's pool every day for 10 days and also who as soon as the restaurant opened at meal times sat on the same table of 8 even though there were only 4 of them. Sad people. Apart from that it was hard to get a sun bed some days but you can only blame the hotel for not adhering to what they say in their leaflet that sun beds should not be reserved. While we were there was nearly a fracas between them and another lady about the sunbeds and the manager had to intervene!. We have stayed in May on our previous occasions and I have to say the sunbed situation was a lot more civilised and much less rowdy children as well. All in all this is a brilliant hotel for children and will visit again as Palma Nova is a brilliant place with the beach and other amentities in walking distanceMore
