Great Hotel

We stayed here June 2014 for one week and enjoyed it so much that we went back in August for a further 11 days. The rooms were immaculate and were cleaned on a daily basis with a good supply of clean linen and towels. The food was lovely with a wide range of choices to suit just about everybody. The pool areas were well maintained and clean and the beach was less than a five minute walk away. The staff were friendly and polite and you couldn't wish for a more fantastic entertainment team. We're looking forward to going again this year in June and i would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.More

Overall we had a great time!

We stayed here June 2014 (10th -24th). Overall we had a brilliant holiday, as your holiday is what you make it!! I emailed the hotel prior to our trip, asking for a 3rd or 4th floor room (as I’m afraid of lifts!) in the Mirlos and a pool view if possible. That is exactly what we got! The only MAJOR issue we had with the hotel was this. One night around 2 or 3 in the morning, when we were in bed, we could hear someone at our door. They were there for about 10 minutes trying to get in. So it was obvious they were drunk, we thought if we ignored it they would leave, but they got the door opened with the key. Thankfully this was just some drunk man and when he came into the room and saw us and we told him this was our room etc and he left. The drunk man had went to reception to ask for a new room key as he lost him, the man was staying in the Tordos part, who had the same room number. The man on reception gave the drunk man the key to our room. We did complain to the manager the follow day, as we thought it was a very serious issue that needed their attention. They informed us that all staff are required to check the room number and details etc before handing out any keys, which apparently the man on reception failed to do. The manager did apologies and reassured us it would not happen again. To be honest we were very annoyed as it shouldn’t have happened in the first place!! On Arrival: Check in was a bit slow, but who cares! You’re on holiday. The staff were lovely and gave us the bands for the Kathmandu House. Room: Ok so the first thing about the rooms, they have paper thin walls! I read many reviews before booking this hotel and to be honest I thought it was people over reacting and exaggerating, but honestly you can hear everything, and I mean EVERYTHING! Every morning our neighbour would be shouting “yaba daba do” etc. We found that the cleaners in the morning were also very very noisy, shouting up and down the corridor. To be honest it almost sounded like they were arguing it was that loud. I get that they are doing their job (and are doing a great job) and obviously who wouldn’t talk to their colleagues to past the day a bit quicker, but it was very noisy. There was only two of us, and although the rooms were a bit cramped, it didn’t bother us. I would see the issue if there was a third person staying in the room, as they just seem to stick in another bed. When we arrived the room was spotless, very clean and tidy. Our room was cleaned most days and towels were changed every day. Often we got up later, than the time the cleaners would arrive, so they would skip our room if we didn’t answer the door, which was great as other hotels we have stayed in the cleaners would still come in and wake us. We assumed that because we didn’t let them in to tidy the room, they would skip us for the day (which we didn’t mind, as it was us that didn’t let them in) but they still always returned between 1 and 3 to dress the beds etc. They are very hard working. I found the beds were uncomfortable, but my boyfriend didn’t. The bathroom and balcony are both a good size. Pool: Again we read the reviews about it being difficult to get a sunbed and it did put us off a bit. People were out at 8ish getting the best spots and then not showing up for a long time after!! We usually got up and were at the pool around 12ish and always stayed at the Mirlos pool. Honestly we never found it hard getting a sunbed, or a spot. But we always were looking for a spot in the shade and not in the sun, unlike most. So this may be why we had no difficulties getting a spot/bed. We did notice one large group had 2 sets of beds for each person, one set in the shade and another set in the sun, which was a bit unfair. I can see if there was a group of 4 or more it may be difficult getting a spot together if you didn’t get up early for it. Food: Great food selection, better than other 3* hotels we have stayed at. I don’t know what people expect from a 3* star, there was great choice and always something to choose from. I am picky with meat and usually only ever have chicken, this hotel had a chicken dish every night, which was great. The food repeats itself after the week. Location: We loved the location! This was the main reason we stayed at the hotel. Roughly a 5 minute stroll into Magaluf and at the other side of the hotel all Palma Nova’s shops and bars. The hotel is very close to the beach. Entertainment: We didn’t go to the entertainment much, but what we did see was very good. The evening was geared towards the children, and then an act would follow for the adults, usually lasting an hour. We seen some tribute acts and a magic show, all were very good. Staff: We found all staff very pleasant, hard-working, friendly and welcoming. There was only one staff member in the whole place that we found was very rude, we can’t remember his name now, but he seemed as if he was the manager/supervisor of the Mirlos bar. He was middle aged and bald. The reps also went above and beyond, they were excellent very enthusiastic! Overall: Thankfully we didn’t catch the bug going around! Overall we really did enjoy our holiday. We would return, however the issue with the key would make us think again! The pirate show is a must! Wifi is overly expensive, 35 euro for a week? Ridiculous!! There is plenty of bars around with free wifi. This would we a great hotel for young families!More

Great family hotel with excellent entertainment staff.

I love this hotel. We have been twice with the family and had a great holiday on both occasions. The rooms are basic but clean. The location is excellent, 2 mins to the beach and only 5/10mins to Magaluf. The grand children love the childrens pool and the kids club and they were all made to feel very special. The food is great, with a good variety and is tasty. I would highly recommend this to a young family. More
