Pools are where this hotel triumphs – it’s even got its own waterpark.
It’s all about the pools at this place. On top of a huge, H-shaped one, there’s a new pool with 6 slides, added during a refurb in 2012. Rooms had a makeover at the same time and have a fresh feel. And there's modern dining, too.
When it comes to eating and drinking, highlights include an al fresco Chinese and a Viennese café. As for location, the hotel is in a quiet spot by a small beach. Paphos harbour is less than 10 minutes by bus.

Amazing place can't wait to go back
Myself and my family 8 of us had the most amazing time at this hotel, everywhere was spotless the cleaning ladies started work at 7am and just didn't stop, reception was friendly and Marios never forgot my name which I think is lovely, the food was incredible, I am extremely fussy when it comes to food but the Louis Phaethon had something different for me every night, my children thoroughly enjoyed all the food and what a lovely touch to make the children's section at their level, really enjoyed the Cyprus night, entertainment again was great my son loved the disco every night with a friend that he made by the pool, pool area very clean and the poolside restaurant and bar were lovely, the room was a little on the small side however it was made up for 4 of us and we didn't have any problems with it being small, more than adequate after all you only sleep and get changed in your room. I cannot recommend this hotel any higher and I am booking again to go back next year, thank you to all the staff at Louis Phaethon for making this the best holiday, special mention to Flad and Jordon at the bar, thank you for making my son so happy with your shots, (black currant and lemonade), Kim was a lovely lady never too busy to stop and chat, and the entertainment team for all their hard work. See you next year xxMore

October 2014 stay
first time at this hotel, the staff were friendly, food was excellent for an all inclusive deal. The kids loved the watersides and the entertainment was well above average. We all thought the hotel was incredibly good value for moneyMore
Another fantastic stay at this great hotel
This is our second stay at The Louis Phaethon and it did not fail to impress us again. The staff are friendly, polite and professional in all that they do. The food is really good quality with lots of choices which include salads, local dishes, roasts, vegetarian options and a corner full of child friendly food. We have a 16 year old and a twelve year old and the hotel catered for all of us as far as entertainment went. We all shared the same room and we were all very comfortable. To be honest, there is so much going on that we mainly used the room to shower in the evening before dinner and then to sleep in later. The animation team offered lots of activities during the day and most of the team were excellent. We absolutely loved Emma. Sam and Hannah. What a bunch of really lovely girls who constantly smiled and kept us really entertained. The girls activities were always on time as well. The dancing and singing was also excellent and the team put a lot of effort into all the performances. There have been a few reviews on here about people getting really drunk. I did see this on one occasion but having been on holidays abroad for the last 30 years would think it really strange if I didn't experience this. Unfortunately all inclusive or not, there will always be clients that drink too much. I would totally recommend this hotel to anyone with a family looking for a first class relaxing break.More

Rooms not great, full of drunks
I would like to echo some of the other reviews on here. Was billed as a four star, though rooms are closer to a two. Claimed free wifi but a charge for it in the room, free in reception but painfully slow. The room was basic with antique TV with terrible reception. Very small but clean on arrival and kept clean throughout our stay. I have only one child, aged four. I would have been horrified spending a week in there with 2 kids, specially if a bit older. Main issue was a not insignificant number of guests there during our stay. I got the feeling that many believe they have to drink their cost of holidays worth of alcohol during their stay. Bad language commonplace and drunken behaviour every night. Not something for most families, and not me and mine. This was during the day around the pool as well as the evening. Want a nice family holiday that doesn't end up feeling like chucking out time on Saturday night in your towns high street, avoid!More
A slip on the trip
Third visit to this hotel with Thompson. Did not disappoint, great place for family holidays with its own water park area. Great staff and good variety of food to choose from. Unfortunately there is no beach at the front of the hotel but a seawall with steps into the shallow sea with a stony bottom. There is a public beach a short walk away. Anyway the steps were constructed last year and are uneven and the lower step can be slippery when covered in algae as one of our party found out to his cost. A trip to the clinic and sleepless nights with a bruised back which was later to be found as broken rib. Needless to say the hotel disclaimed responsibility for the condition of the steps though the next day they cleaned all the steps which made them safer to use.More
