Louis Phaethon Beach Club

Pools are where this hotel triumphs – it’s even got its own waterpark.

It’s all about the pools at this place. On top of a huge, H-shaped one, there’s a new pool with 6 slides, added during a refurb in 2012. Rooms had a makeover at the same time and have a fresh feel. And there's modern dining, too.

When it comes to eating and drinking, highlights include an al fresco Chinese and a Viennese café. As for location, the hotel is in a quiet spot by a small beach. Paphos harbour is less than 10 minutes by bus.

Our Experience staying at the Phaethon Beach Hotel, Paphos

My Wife and I celebrated our 30th Wedding Anniversary earlier this month and decided to go to Cyprus for a week. We settled on an all inclusive holiday with Thomas Cook staying at the Phaethon Beach Hotel on the outskirts of Paphos. We arrived at the hotel late in the evening and although the restaurant was closed, food and drink was laid on for us. After checking in we went to our room to find that the hotel had set up a bottle of sparkling wine on ice and a very nice letter congratulating us on our anniversary. We found the staff and Management to be very helpful and friendly and prepared to go the extra mile for us. We were regularly asked if we needed any thing without them being too pushy. The food was excellent and plenty of it, all the sittings had a wide variety of dishes to choose from and the restaurant was very clean and tidy at all times. The staff were again very attentive and we felt welcomed each time we went. The only small complaint was that the restaurant was a very large and open space that felt a bit like a canteen on times, however this takes nothing away from an excellent dining experience. There were a lot of things to do at the hotel. During the day they had quizzes and games both inside and outside. In the evenings the Chariots Night club had different entertainment events every night we were there. The room was clean, comfortable and adequate for our needs, and it was quite spacious with a balcony. It took us a while to come to terms with the AC/heating but we got there in the end. There was a fridge and hair dryer provided however no tea or coffee making facilities which was a bit annoying. There was no free wifi in the room, but they did have areas in the hotel that provided this. The Thompson reps were on hand in the lobby if we needed anything, they were very helpful as we are not seasoned travellers. Overall we had a great time and we're already looking at going back to the same hotel again.More

Superb holiday

Had another fantastic holiday staying at the Phaethon beach hotel in Paphos. My third time staying here and can't wait to come back and visit the staff and animation staff. A lovely welcome to family friendly hotel. They seem to remember me each time I've come even with a two year gap since the last time. You don't need to ask for the your drinks as the bar staff remember your favourite drinks. Will miss them all see you soon..lMore

Brilliant AI family holiday

Arrived home after spending a week at this hotel. This is our second visit to the hotel. It is such a friendly and relaxing hotel where the members of staff are polite, enthusiastic and always happy to help. Special thanks to Claudia the Guest Manager who was always around and checking everyone was ok. We made use of the Childrens club this time around and our 3 year old son had lots of fun and was excited to go back each day to see the entertainers. There are plenty of activities and quizzes to do during the day and the entertainment team have a variety of amazing shows most evenings. The food is top notch and for all inclusive, I have found this is the first hotel I have been to where I haven't gotten bored with the selection. As well as the usual selections, there is always plenty of meat, a kids selection, a fantastic Chinese buffet and waffles/pancakes for snack time. All in all, an amazing holiday! Thanks to everyone who made is specialMore

Arrival Have just returned from a week stay at this hotel. From the moment we arrived till the moment we left we enjoyed every minute. On arrival we were met by hotel staff and offered a drink and snack already prepared as we walked through the door. The friendliness of the welcome was amazing as if they were meeting long lost relatives. You were given a sheet to fill in your details this was done while enjoying a cold beer. The form was handed to reception key given bags marked and delivered to your room. Food The food was second to none we have experienced in other hotels these include 5* premier in the list. Every day you had a different roast from roast beef, loin of pork, turkey, roast gammon and my favourite leg of lamb. If your choice was for something else we always found plenty of alternatives. Also the food was heated on certain stand by small I assumed mentholated heaters underneath to keep it hot. With all hotels the timing of getting your food plays a big part in how hot it is but this definitely helped cannot say food was not hot enough on any occasion i.e. not piping hot on all occasions but hot enough to thoroughly enjoy Breakfast was just as good with proper sausage fried eggs beans for the traditional English and fruit and cereal toast etc also. The hotel was cleaned every morning this was observed from my balcony while enjoying a cup of tea (you would need to bring your own kettle). The cleaners were unobtrusive during the day no one sweeping around your feet. If a spill or mess happened it was cleaned up as if by magic with cleaner appearing from no where Room Two single beds and sofa bed, plenty of cupboard space chair and small table in room. The plugs are the same as ours so no need to take adaptors. Flat screen TV with three news channels in English. We had a seaview as booked with Thomson. From what I could see if you got sea view room all were good. Facilities Beach towels are not provided you need to bring your own. Entertainment was provided plenty of activities and quizzes for those that wanted to partake. On our visit the music wasn’t blaring out don’t know if this will be the same in high season. Large aqua park closed on our arrival but opens on 1st May. Bingo on night only one game so if you are not bingo fan it only lasts 20 minutes. I enjoyed as I won 270 euros on full house one night Phapos We went for a weeks chill so didn’t do much. Bus into Phapos stops outside hotel 1.5 euro single trip or you could get all day pass for 5 euros handy if you want to visit coral beach or market as you need to change at bus station. Bus runs approximately every ten minutes 611 or 612 from hotel. Tip if a group of you waiting at bus stop then taxi drivers will try to get you in taxi. Best to refuse the price of 8 euros and get it for 1.5 euro each they always came down for us but then again it was not high season. Alternatively nice easy relaxing walk from hotel along beach or road to Phapos. My one regret was i didn’t take my fishing rod but managed a three hour boat trip from the harbour 25 euros fishing by locals all along the beach walk into Phapos float small bunched hooks with bread seemed to be the favourite method for those that may be interested Staff Never met one who didn’t have a smile on their face from cleaner to reception staff to waiters kitchen and bar or was in any way impolite a credit to hotel. On departure we were seen off by staff a first for me all management waving you goodbye a very nice touch have never second visited a hotel the same area yes but this will be the exception. Hope to return in October YOU WILL ENJOY I’ll finish as I started Faultless Faultless FaultlessMore
