Louis Phaethon Beach Club

Pools are where this hotel triumphs – it’s even got its own waterpark.

It’s all about the pools at this place. On top of a huge, H-shaped one, there’s a new pool with 6 slides, added during a refurb in 2012. Rooms had a makeover at the same time and have a fresh feel. And there's modern dining, too.

When it comes to eating and drinking, highlights include an al fresco Chinese and a Viennese café. As for location, the hotel is in a quiet spot by a small beach. Paphos harbour is less than 10 minutes by bus.

There's a trio of slides to try out, and the multi-lane one is great for a race. The waterpark is only open in the summer, from 1st May to 31st October. Just so you know, you will need to be aged 8 and 1.2m tall to ride the slides.

Thomson Kids' Club April to October

Designed for 3 to 11 year olds, Thomson Kids’ Club offers 2 hours of activities, 5 or 6 days a week. And that includes at least 3 evenings. It’s split into sections, with Tots for 3 to 5 year olds, Team for 6 to 8s, and Tribe for 9 to 11s. Best of all, most kids’ clubs activities are completely free. And outside of peak season, there are parent and toddler sessions three days a week, too. For your peace of mind, all Thomson Kids’ Club staff have advance DBS checks and hold NVQ Level 2 childcare qualifications. They’re First Aid trained, and there’ll be at least two of them on duty at all times.

Well Done

Just returned from our third holiday at the Phaethon Hotel. Had a great time as usual, staff brilliant ( special thanks to Petros) who sorted out a single room for one of our party. The rooms are quite large and well equipped and are kept spotlessly clean by the staff. Although there is a small fridge, we take a travel kettle as there are no tea making facilities in the room.Other than that small gripe, the room are excellent. We go 'off season' in December and March. The hotel wasn't particularly busy but more people were expected for Christmas week. There is a large and well equipped water park and 'pirate ship' in the children's area, so I suspect that this is a big draw for families in the summer. Great entertainment team, excellent shows ever night. Alex has a superb voice and the dancers are fantastic, just as good as any West End show. We even won a quiz..................I suspect that the Wi-Fi must have failed that night, so we had a chance..!!! There is a problem with the food.......................... It is too good and we have all put on weight, just before Christmas as well. There is an 'Oriental' section at lunchtime with fabulous stir fries and noodles etc. but the star of the week for us was the Steak & Mushroom pie....!!! Ahh well, back to the 5 - 2 Diet I suppose. Thanks to all concerned, we will be back in March.More

Nice and easy

Just back after a week, staff very good, no moans about the food, which on the whole was really good and even hot! which is not normal for the Greeks, rooms are large and the beds also, I could not see any reason for the very small fridge in the room, as there was nothing in it for you to drink, and also no tea / coffee making facilities, but apart from these small moans, a good place for a short break, mind you there were some guests there for 3/4 weeks.More

Fantastic everything.

From our arrival we were welcomed with drinks and cakes left to fill in registration forms at leisure. No queuing at reception. Everyone treated as the most important guest. Fabulous place to stay. Bit out of town but frequent busses outside hotel. Everything here is amazing. Don't want to leave More
