Pools are where this hotel triumphs – it’s even got its own waterpark.
It’s all about the pools at this place. On top of a huge, H-shaped one, there’s a new pool with 6 slides, added during a refurb in 2012. Rooms had a makeover at the same time and have a fresh feel. And there's modern dining, too.
When it comes to eating and drinking, highlights include an al fresco Chinese and a Viennese café. As for location, the hotel is in a quiet spot by a small beach. Paphos harbour is less than 10 minutes by bus.

There's a trio of slides to try out, and the multi-lane one is great for a race. The waterpark is only open in the summer, from 1st May to 31st October. Just so you know, you will need to be aged 8 and 1.2m tall to ride the slides.
Great for the kids with a climbing frame, waterfalls and slides.
Available from April 2017. Designed for 3 to 11-year-olds, our Kids’ Clubs by Family Life offer daytime activities, five times a week. To ensure all activities suit your little and not-so-little ones, we’ve split the Clubs into age groups and tailored the activities for each. Just like in our Family Life resorts, there’s Bamse Club for 3 to 5-year-olds and @611 Club for 6 to 11-year olds, so you and your kids get a taste of the full experience. For your peace of mind, all of our Kids’ Club team are trained to UK standards by TUI, and have undergone relevant checks.
This hotel was great - we spent the first week in August 2016. The animations team was fantastic - they were enthusiastic, full of energy, full of smiles - involved everyone who wanted to be involved and did not stop from 10am to 11pm. There was a continually changing variety of activities during the day to choose from, and in the evening they put on some absolutely professional and high quality shows. My two are 9 and 11 years old. They loved this hotel. It has a water slide park (3 rides) integrated with the pool complex. Clean, well supervised and safe - we spent hours on this and are fitter for it too ! Don't expect much from the beach though - its clean but rocky, and if you want sand you're going to have to travel (boat trips - see below). But the little bay that is off the shoreline is beautiful water - clean and rocky, shallow in the most part, protected from the main sea by a rock breakwater - and my son and a friend snorkeled out there a lot. Next to the hotel on the waterfront is a small kiosk that sells water activities. Its not part of the hotel, but we took a half day boat trip ("safari") and a parascending outing for the three of us. Both were excellent and the boat trip in particular was exciting (it doesn't poodle around !), and you get to disembark at a couple of rather spectacular bays. About â¬40 per person from memory - and worth it. Only 20 minutes coach transfer from Paphos airport, so not too far for a family. Food was plentiful and good to great. The pool bar provides chinese buffet and pizzas and the like each lunchtime. The main restaurant provides evening meals and alternatives at lunchtime, although they do have a dress code that means no wet clothes, and shorts and a top/cover rather than swimming trunks. The staff were safety-aware, assertive enough to tell people/children not to do dangerous things (eg keep out of the pool at night), but not OTT. Not for the Club 18-30 set, although there is some nightclub activity in the hotel which I didn't sample .... and because the hotel was so good we did rather neglect Paphos and Cyprus. Again, if you're going to be more out than in, you may not get the best value out of what you pay here. But this was fab for children up to teenage years, and for their parents too.More

We stayed at this hotel for 7 nights (me, my wife and two children 7 & 13), this hotel is excellent, the staff work so hard and long hours but always happy. The hotel is very clean including the pools and very entertaining water park. The entertainment is very good and the kids enjoyed the evening shows. Drinks are quality and plenty of bars to choose from, food is very good quality and variety and the views from the pool area near the beach is brilliant. We also attended a family wedding at this hotel during our stay, the venue and views were amazing, staff were great in supporting the married couple and guests. Thank you to Andreas the assistant hotel manager who was always on hand to help where required (Champagne). I highly recommend this hotel to anyone, you wont regret it. Thanks to all the staff.More
We have just returned one week ago from The Louis Phaethon hotel. The first thing that we would need to praise is Dido and his amazing animation team, all of them work very hard at the shows that they put on in the evenings and also all the activities they put on during the day. The hotel has a good variety of food that is of good quality, the chefs are constantly refreshing and refilling food stations so that everything is always fresh and piping hot. The hotel is spotless, from the cleaning staff to waiting staff and pool/bar attendants everyone was very quick to ensure the area was always kept cleani and any spillages dealt with immediately. I would Agee with some of the reviews saying that the bedrooms are quite small but we travelled with 2 teenagers and had an interconnecting room which we requested so it was perfect. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. The only improvements that could be made would be more sun loungers as there was a need to be up early to secure sun beds and also some branded drinks would be nice to have in the package. All in all I would say a very well run hotel with managers being clearly visible to ensure smooth operation of the facilities. We have stayed at some 5 star hotels that could learn a few things from The Louis Phaethon ! Thanks for a lovely holidayMore
After having a few days to reflect on our recent holiday at Louis Phaethon I thought I would review as I booked this hotel based on the fact that most people had rated it excellent or very good. The problem with that is you don't know what other people's expectations are, lot of the hotels short comings have been mentioned on previous reviews. The good bits The water park is good fun for a few days The hotel is generally clean Chinese buffet and food by the pool restaurant really good Most staff helpful and friendly Location is ok, good choice of water sports close and run by really friendly people Air con works well The bad bits The hotel is really big which I new when I booked but the reality of 1200 guests means that it's rammed everywhere, the restaurants the pools there is no space and the noise is relentless, day and night The pools are heaving no chance of swimming Usual situation with sun beds little chance of getting one after 6 am The rooms are tiny with 2 adults and 2 children you can't move also trying to sleep with 4 people in such a small space you are constantly waking each other up Worse most uncomfortable beds ever spent much of the week aching There is no way that this hotel can be rated as 4 star when the basic accommodation is so poor, a previous reviewer said this is butlins in the sun they were spot on if that's what you want than fine if not this is not the hotel for you More

Overall a great holiday. Family of 4, children aged 12 & 9. Cons. Rooms small for a family of 4 ( although spotlessly clean) Getting up at 5.30 to put towels out is ridiculous. Drinks not very strong but bar staff always looking out for you & even brought drinks over when we hadn't asked! (Rainbow cocktail was lovely. ) . Food was amazing. Ok, only 1 Resturant open in the evening but always something that everyone would like. Animation team were brilliant, maybe not the best shows I've seen in the evening but always approachable and day times were fantastic. Big shout out to Lizzie long legs & Harley. Overall had a brilliant time & would recommend to my friends ( but maybe not in busy season as too busy & hard to get a decent sunbed!) More
