Pools are where this hotel triumphs – it’s even got its own waterpark.
It’s all about the pools at this place. On top of a huge, H-shaped one, there’s a new pool with 6 slides, added during a refurb in 2012. Rooms had a makeover at the same time and have a fresh feel. And there's modern dining, too.
When it comes to eating and drinking, highlights include an al fresco Chinese and a Viennese café. As for location, the hotel is in a quiet spot by a small beach. Paphos harbour is less than 10 minutes by bus.

There's a trio of slides to try out, and the multi-lane one is great for a race. The waterpark is only open in the summer, from 1st May to 31st October. Just so you know, you will need to be aged 8 and 1.2m tall to ride the slides.
Great for the kids with a climbing frame, waterfalls and slides.

Gem of a hotel
We arrived Sunday and are staying in a pleasant room 3049. This hotel attracted us as it had a deal on it on the Thomson website. We travel abroad at least twice yearly and always check trip advisor. This has to be one of the best value for money holidays ever. The hotel is excellent, the food is truly outstanding and the staff cannot do enough for you. The animation team do a great job and whilst they don't disturb you if you want to relax they do lay on plenty if you want to take part. I must mention several other plus points. The transfer is only 20 minutes. The reception staff always have time and are most informative. The food is varied including roasts daily. I would especially commend the Chinese Chef at lunch who cooks everything freshly. The waiting staff are highly professional and plates are removed discreetly once you have finished a course. They will give you a packed lunch which includes two drinks if you fancy a day exploring. Just order from reception by 6pm the day before. The hotel staff make a real fuss of the children. There is a bus service from 50 yards outside the hotel which connects to the whole area. A daily roamer ticket costs 5 euros. Most go to paphos harbour which is lovely for a stroll. A marina front restaurant charged 4.50 euros for two latte's and a bottle of water. The Cypriot people have been charming and we have not been hassled once at any of the shops unlike in Turkey and Egypt! The exchange rate in the shops here today if you want to change currency is 1.15 euros to the pound. Better then I got in England. Finally this is not a 5 star rated hotel but the food, amenities and staff are off the highest quality and I will be recommending it to family and friends. Two weeks all inclusive for under a grand what a bargain!! Mike.More

What can I say the louis Phaethon is an excellent hotel, The staff are really friendly and are always there to help you if you need anything. Food was lovely plenty of choice throughout the day and the roast meats in the evening are cook second to none and then there is the desserts plenty to choose from and always a different hot dessert every night the chocolate lava cake is to die for Accommodation was good tho a little dated but very good for the price, You get extra pillows in room if needed and also blankets if you get a little cold at night though there is a heating system if you want to use that bed was comfortable and had a good night's sleep every night. The facilities are excellent there are two outdoor pools and a small water park but this was closed between November and April I believe so can't so what the slides are like, There is and outside bar as well that served good drinks and good service from the staff. The grounds are kept very clean empty cups removed swiftly. The indoor pool is nice there is a massive jacuzzi and sauna and steam room in the the area and a gym which the equipment is quiet new. Summing it up I would not hesitate too go back too this hotel as the price is well worth it for what you get. More

Just got back from a lovely week - they are having an Indian Summer and weather was warm and sunny all week. I have no negatives for this resort except for the many biting mosquitoes which caused us some pain. They seem to live in the lifts. Our room was great (2093) with both a sea view and mountain view. Because it was a "corner" room it was a little larger than standard. Food was good and I recommend the Carvery each evening. I did some snorkelling and enjoyed it. There is quiet a lot of clingy seaweed close-in but it soon disperses as you wade further out. A few nice little fish to see. We would return to this hotel.More
