The Hotel Bitacora is a family favourite thanks to its A-star location and pool scene. Plus, it’s only minutes away from the shops, bars and restaurants of Playa de las Americas.
The Hotel Bitacora’s main selling point is its location – the hotel is just a 10-minute walk from the beach and only a bit further from central Playa de las Americas.
Families have it made at this hotel. A new adventure playground opened its doors in 2013, and there are two pools and a buffet restaurant.

Truly fantastic family hotel, highly recommended
A party of 15 of us stayed at Bitacora for 10 nights and had an excellent stay. We had 6 adults and 7 children of ages ranging from 1 to 17 and everything in between including 1 disabled child. As soon as we arrived at the airport everything was taken care of by the hotel as we were all inclusive. Our taxis were ready for us as promised to take us to the hotel and the staff on arrival at reception were friendly, welcoming and helpful. We were soon checked in and settled into our rooms ready to head to the pool or go out to explore. The hotel is excellently situated within easy walking distance of everything you could need including shops, bars, beach, restaurants and the pick up point for all the islands attractions is literally next to the hotel! Perfect! The food is varied in choice and is always delicious, we all looked forward to meal times. You can have everything from chicken nuggets and chips to freshly cooked steak cooked to your preference. There was different food to choose from every day and the restaurant staff are friendly and efficient. If you need anything all you need to do is ask. There was a kids club every day and the animacion staff were brilliant, entertaining us and the children day and night. There is a huge modern park area with a 5 a side football park/basketball court which is new, safe and secure. By the pool is the pool bar where you can get drinks all day and snacks in between meal times. If you have any aches and pains there is a massage/chiropractor available for a small charge. I visited and it really helped my bad back! All in all we had a perfect holiday and only wish we could of stayed longer. This hotel and its staff are a credit to the spring hoteles management and we would definitely stay there again. Neil H. (And Family).More

Good family Christmas
Stayed at the Bitacora hotel again for Christmas and New Year with my husband, daughter her husband and two grandchildren aged 6 and 10. Once again this hotel didn't disappoint. We always book pool view and all inclusive especially when you have children travelling with you. The food is excellent and the gala meals slightly overfacing - so much food. The entertainment always very good with the odd show not so good. The children's area which was brand new last year and the children's entertainers absolutely first class, a genuine feeling that they care and put 100% into the job that they are doing. Well done to you all. Finally if you don't like children don't stay here, this is a very lively we run hotel, can't wait for next year.More

Nice but pls read if taking kids..
7 day stay 20 January all inclusive stay with 2 children aged 5 & 9 and 2 adults. Pros: nice clean hotel, food good variety - Alcoholic drinks good with brand names and with meals on all inclusive they give bottles of wine if u ask when requesting drinks. The card services for drinks I personally didn't think was bad the hotel offers half board with the same coloured wrist bands so the only way the staff know if ur AI or HB is by your swipe card. Our was located on 2nd floor twin pool view room lovely location of pool (with AI safe was paid for via Thomas Cook free complimentary gowns adults-slippers and on arrival free bottle of Moët). Praise to The cleaners as they were very good especially with my kids on few Occasions being sick (drink only bottle water). Staff are polite and work hard day - Night. Always doing best to please Everyone . Cons: The second floor were we were staying was opposite the Best Tenerife hotel and next door to that is a cocktail bar ... Which played music at a very loud pitch and made going to bed very difficult when eventually U did fall a sleep it was time to wake up and play finders keepers with the sun beds near the pool as it seemed that everyone wanted the same spot every day - there were plenty of sun beds but people seemed to be worried their were no sun-beds but in fact there were but all scattered about !!! Just may be not near The pool side. The most negative thing I could actually say was as a parent only one main pool was heated and in that the children were NOT ALLOWED any blowed up toys which was very annoying what else are u meant to keep the kids entertained with??! There were no sign post to state no blown toys allowed in the pool and the lifeguards were very aggressive if u were caught with these toys in the pool. There seemed to be a high volume of mature (older generation) whom didn't like having kids around them and on a few occasion remarks where made to myself however I ignored as I have paid for this holiday for my family to enjoy !! I was informed that the sister hotel that is another spring hotel vulcano is catered for Adults only maybe they should promote that more for people who don't like kids!!!!!! The animation team (could try harder) Maybe speak more English when doing kids club and entertainment as With language barrier hard to understand what was happening with the quick blur English they spoke. The kids films played at night some where English and some played in Spanish (don't really help if u don't know the language LOL). Overall a nice good holiday just had To work harder with the kids the negative part being the pool - (slide pool wasn't heated where they were allowed to take blowed up toys -the water was at sea temperature not heated). Enjoyed another excellent holiday at the Bitacora. Have been most years since 1993. Paid the extra for pool view and all inclusive and we think it is worth it. The hotel is advertised as a family hotel so if you don,t like children go to the Vulcano. I celebrated my 80th birthday while I was there and enjoyed seeing families with young children. Many of the staff have been there for some years and are always very welcoming, especially Isabel in the restaurant. We hope to be back again.More

Very nice hotel for a 4 star!!
First of all the food is excellent, plenty of choice, changes most nights and the service in the restaurant was sublime. We are used to all inclusive which this hotel does offer how ever we were travelling with parents and decided to go half board which was stil fine as the drinks in the bar weren't too pricey! The hotel location is brilliant, just outside the pool area of hotel there is a few shops where you can get most things and the PICK UP ZONE FOR MOST TRIPS IS JUST ACCROSS THE ROAD AT THE BEST TENERIFE HOTEL, a short walk round the corner is the more lively part and in the other direction is Los Christianos, there is several shopping centres dotted around by the hotel and plenty of bars and restaurants. As far as the rooms go we paid a tiny bit extra for a superior pool view room which was well worth it you get a robe and slippers chucked in aswell as some champagne and the better view, behind the hotel is abit of an eyesore so make sure you opt. For pool view. All in all a good hotel all rooms have a fair dryer and some complimentarys and shampoo and shower gel in the bathroom on the wall.........very nice staff and pool area is clean, beds are comfy inside and out and there is a courtesy room and luggage room so you can get a shower if you have a Kate departure from airport....... Very goodMore
