The Hotel Bitacora is a family favourite thanks to its A-star location and pool scene. Plus, it’s only minutes away from the shops, bars and restaurants of Playa de las Americas.
The Hotel Bitacora’s main selling point is its location – the hotel is just a 10-minute walk from the beach and only a bit further from central Playa de las Americas.
Families have it made at this hotel. A new adventure playground opened its doors in 2013, and there are two pools and a buffet restaurant.

Buzzing with children
Stayed here for 2 weeks. Beautiful hotel excellent food and location. This hotel is jam packed with kids so ideal for families animation team brilliant for kids but very poor for adults. I have no kids with me and it was quite draining at times with all the noise. Very busy pool areas had to get up latest 6am if you wanted a sun bed which are jam packed next to each other. Nightmare!! Queing up to be seated in restaurant, even when AI, was a joke it could take 20 mins to be seated. Eve entertainment a hit or miss but expected really. Def not a couples holiday or people with teenagers may struggle to. Another bug bare is can only order drinks according to people in ur room. I.e. 2 people couldnt order 3 drinks!! More
Clean and comfortable and good location
I cannot fault the hotel. It's is clean and comfortable. Location is close to beach, safari centre and shops. Hotel staff very attentive and helpful. We are a family with a 13 year old son and an 11 year old son. I would say that this hotel is aimed at younger families. I would also go as far as to say that this was a typical "Brits abroad" type venue ( no fault of hotel) but clientele were happy with British food and butlins style entertainment so not really for us. We went half board which we were happy we did as loads of good restaurants nearby. When we did want to use a sun bed which was twice we had no Problem getting one at about 8 am. Good hotel on the whole though.More

Stayed at this hotel in Aug 2014 for 1 week on DBB basis. Not much to say really. Not badly positioned in terms of its location to the strip of bars/restaurants etc. Room was spacious, although maid service was not fantastic as empty cans of coke and water bottles were not removed with the rubbish for several days. Sunbeds at the pool are reserved painfully early, often with towels on them til 3pm with no sign of their owner. Hotel seem to do nothing about this whatsoever. Food was pretty good. Parking is a nightmare around here. (We had our hire car towed away for parking by the bins, even though bins obstructed the warning sign!) All in all, not bad but in no rush to return. Preferred the location of the med palace/ cleopatra hotels where we have stayed previously.More
good stay couple of faults
This was my first time but my wife's second .Food good and varied and staff very helpful, Room was large and even a sofa so very comfortable.problems with hotel poor entertainment either very bad singers or tribute acts, becomes a pain after a week or so, poor room cleaning in a hot climate they need to actually wash floors and sanitary ware more often, and finally the old chestnut the sun beds are so close you are litterly sitting on your neighbours knee, that's if you could actually get one seems that the usual morons are out with their towels during the night but don't appear till midday.More
