The Spring Hotel Bitacora is a family favourite thanks to its A-star location and pool scene. Plus, it’s only minutes away from the shops, bars and restaurants of Playa de las Americas.
The Spring Hotel Bitacora’s main selling point is its location – the hotel is just a 10-minute walk from the beach and only a bit further from central Playa de las Americas.
Families have it made at this hotel. A new adventure playground opened its doors in 2013, and there are two pools and a buffet restaurant.

This hotel was like colditz in the sun, from 6.30 in the morning people were out putting towels on sunbeds (do they not sleep!!) Felt like we were beggars big brother was watching ,everything you drank was monitored arrived at 9.00pm and were told if we wanted to eat we better hurry up or we would get nothing till morning but on the day we left they stopped our all inclusive at 12.00 noon and wanted 15 euros from each of us to keep our all inclusive till 6.00pm. On the website it advertised a tapas bar by the pool didn't know burgers, hot dogs and pizza was classed as tapas. Work being done at pool the noise was horrendous no one warned us this was about to happen, ate out that morning, the food was average no better than a works canteen, staff were rude and very sullen also the smell from the bins outside the main entrance would make you feel sick. The video for this hotel is very misleading no atmosphere no fun never again.More

Great hotel location amazing. Food fabulous
We went to this hotel for 10 nights with our two kids who are 5 and 7. The food was fantastic , loads of choice and varied options everyday including salads, fresh fruits and vegetables. They really do cater for all food types just fabulous, can't rave enough !! The entertainment was ok and the team work really hard however the kids disco was very babyish for my kids. Also the day time entertainment could be more varied such as swimming pool games for kids or more competitions by the pool. The disco at night should include more pop music. Special mention to frankie from the entertainment team (animation team) who was fantastic !! The shows at night were excellent, however some of the singers were dated and it felt more like a cruise ship. The position of the hotel is superb, loads of places to visit and gorgeous walks along the coast. Overall we had a magical holiday and I would visit again. Oh only one negative terrible air conditioning this really needs sorting. Fabulous friendly staff at reception. More
Another excellent holiday in our favorite hotel
The hotel is in an excellent position with short walks to the beaches and shops. The Safari Centre nearby is worth a visit especially in the evenings where there is a fountain light show. Also, the mini golf nearby is worth a visit. We have been stayed at this hotel many times since 2000 and have seen many changes. The staff have always been helpful and friendly and some we recognise from our first visit. The hotel and rooms are always cleaned daily. Since becoming an A.I. hotel there have been changes, however due to a recent management change things have now improved. Restaurant food is good with many different dishes to choose from and pleasant helpful welcoming staff. Food allergies can be catered for and in our party we had someone allergic to milk and cream and special desserts and a birthday cake were prepared for her, after we inquired. The issue about saving seats early morning with towels on the sun beds seems to have been largely resolved now. Staff removing towels up till 10 in the morning has resulted in more beds around the pool area being available after breakfast. This time we appreciated not having loud music playing around the pool area all day. We had two 19yr olds with us who enjoyed the restful peace and quiet as did many others seated around us. Organised day time activities are varied. There is an entertainment team who also do shows in the evenings however, they have a âcaptiveâ audience especially with those on A.I. More evening entertainment should be shown by employing various âoutsideâ acts. The few acts brought in from outside are very good and appreciated, especially the Eagles, and Top Hat and Heels comedy act, neither should not to be missed. The sister hotel Volcano seem to manage to employ different evening acts. There have been remarks made about the evening bar service, where you have to get the attention of staff who will take your order. We experienced the same problem, often waving hands in the air for a while. However, on one particular night, staff were asking us if we needed to order when we already had full glasses! So not a big problem for us. All in all another very enjoyable holiday and we look forward to returning again. More

Sue and Garys' 3rd Holiday at the Bitacora!
What can I say!! Just returned from our 3rd holiday at the Bitacora. What an amazing hotel that just gets better! We had a late flight and had missed our evening meal but at check-in we were offered a snack, this was very welcome. We had requested a pool view room on a high floor which is what we got. A bottle of champagne was waiting for us in our room as we were celebrating our 27th Wedding Anniversary. This was the start of an amazing stay. The hotel and all the staff were all you could ask for! We recognised many staff from previous visits which proves its a lovely place to stay. I have to say that all the staff look very happy in their work. Our room was lovely and clean and bedding and towels were changed daily during our 11 day holiday. The restaurant offered a wide variety of meals which should please everyone. The entertainment team were amazing as usual, although we aren't ones for joining in we enjoy watching. Well done to all involved and all the work behind the scenes. We never had a problem getting a sunbed and the new system seems to be working well. The bar staff work very hard during the evenings as the bar area gets quite busy but you never have to wait for long. We really enjoyed the 'Top Hat and Heels' show which was our last night. So we finished our stay on a high! As we had a night flight we were as we called ourselves 'Homeless' and were not looking forward to leaving our room at 12noon, but the hotel staff were so nice. We left our luggage in the secure room and booked the courtesy room to shower and change before we treated ourselves to a nice meal before our return journey. We made some lovely friends, Sandra and Malc especially and not forgetting Emma, Barbara and Gordon. Hope to meet up with you all again x Thank you to all at the Bitacora for another amazing holiday!More

Relaxing and entertaining
Enough space to relax, enough activities to entertain. Food was nice and a very good selection on all inclusive. Only one restaurant /bar open for food at one time so have to check the time before heading to eat. No all inclusive food between 5pm and 6:30pm but not a big problem for us. Our room was made up and cleaned apart from when we hung our do not disturb. Seems very environmentally conscious also. Pool is lovely and the large pool is one depth (1.4m) all round. More
