Stayed at Six Lagotel in May 2016 with family and friends. The pools are lovely if a little cold. The hotel is in a nice area within walking distance of an amazing white sandy beach. Entertainment isn't that great but kids all enjoyed it. Would go back again ...More
If you love mosquito's, this is your place!
This hotel is an average family hotel. It has two pretty big pool gardens, one big dining room, a small old gym that really needs an update and big lake next to it and that´s why of all the mosquito's. I went here for 2 weeks in end of August 2016 with my husband. We were hoping for a comfy hotel to relax at with good food but can't really say that´s what we got. THE ROOM We got an apartment in what I think was the older building, we had to walk through the garden to get to it from the lobby. We were on the 5th floor and the elevators were almost always broken or the one that worked was so slow we didn't have patience for waiting for it. I really felt sorry for the older people that were there and couldn't really walk up the stairs. The apartment itself was pretty big and bright but we got the morning sun on our balcony. The furniture were so old it was like in a grandma's summer house in there. The bed in the bedroom were two old mattresses on a bench and the spring just stood out so it was impossible to sleep in it. In the living room there were two sleeping sofas which we actually preferred to sleep on instead the bed. They were very stiff and hard, but so much better than the bed. There was a small kitchen with most equipment which was kind of weird since we had the all-inclusive package. The bathroom size was rather small and the toilette looked very old and the bath seemed like it was very dirty, like it was just old fat that was stuck in the bath. I also noticed the door to the bathroom was very dirty and it didn't seem like the housekeeper never cleaned the door. But they usually kept our floor pretty clean. THE FOOD The breakfast was always the same, typical english breakfast, breads, yogurts and stuff. What I think it lacks is oatmeal and some multigrain breads. They had sometimes packages but they weren't good. Lunch and dinner usually had good variants of both fish, meat and pasta and vegetables and salads so you could usually find something to eat. I think overall the food was pretty good compared to that it's a buffet style every day. GARDEN & POOL As said earlier they have two pool gardens, the main garden I think is more louder than the one across the street. There is some entertainment in the main garden each day so I think most child families prefer to stay there. Also there are no sun beds there if you come down after 10am. I noticed from my balcony that people started queuing from 8 oâclock to go to the main garden (it opens at 9am) to get sun beds! I couldn't believe that people wanted to queue for that! Me and my husband usually went to the other pool as there were much more sun beds over there and not as many kids with loud noises. THE GYM I used the gym every day cause I like to be active before relaxing in the sun. The gym room size is rather small but itâs okey if there are not more than 4 people using it at time. They have some free weights that are little old, some a little rusty, but do their jobs. There was one multi-functional weight machine there that didn't work and 3 warm up bikes/ elliptical machines but I think only the biked worked. And they were so old.. I just didn't dare to use them. But it was nice there was wall bars there. In the gym there was sauna and a hot tub but not sure if they worked. It said there on the wall they costed I think 5 euros per hour⦠THE BAR There was a bar with beer, red, white, sangria and sodas that you had access to in pool garden across the street. They had some snacks there also, burgers, hot dogs, chips, salad and fruit. The main hotel bar was though in the main garden, where you could get stronger drinks. I donât know if they made good cocktails, I usually just had red, white or sparkling wine. But those drinks were all very good and the beer tasted fine as well. THE ENTERTAINMENT It seems to be the same program from week to week in the evening. It was okay but nothing that I wanted to watch each evening. We usually just took some drinks up the apartment and watched TV or read books. Overall itâs a fine hotel for families with kids, but I wouldn't recommend this to couples at all. But I guess if we had gotten a better room where we could actually sleep, this wouldn't have been so bad.More
Me hubby and our 2 year old visited here in October. We absolutely loved it! Hotel room was great big enough for 3 of us plus a fridge and a bath for the little one at night and even a hair dryer! Food was actually quite nice. On the first day I didn't find any thing I liked really and was a bit gutted but the rest of the holiday I loved the food and even tried different foods. Pools were great and big although we spent most of our time at the baby pool our daughter loved it. Yes it was cold but most pools are and our daughter didn't mind she was in it every day. Staff were lovely and so friendly as we're the entertainment team through the day and night. My daughter really enjoyed the kids disco every night and joining in aqua gym through the day. Me and hubby really enjoyed adult entertainment at night too. Drinks were easy to get as was mostly help yourself! Literally the only down side to this hotel is it been next to a lake and the amount of mosquito bites we got regardless of us wearing the bands and the creams and plug in we took. That said our daughter didn't get bitten once! If they could guarentee we wouldn't get bitten again as much then we would definitely return every year. More
We stayed here in September just after the School summer holidays. A lovely room with fridge free of charge and also free WIFI. Nice view from the balcony. Two main pools, one was on the other side of the road (a few paces) both pool areas excellent and we always got a sun bed whatever time of day it was. Snacks ok, and food much as what you would expect from a all inclusive, I can not complain. At breakfast the fried eggs were brought out cooked on a tray instead of being cooked in front of you, which saved you from queuing fro the eggs but you had to catch them as they came from the kitchen to get a nice runny one. Staff all helpful and friendly. Free bus to and from the beach. My only negative comment would be that the hotel is a bit far from the main area of restaurants and bars but if have no intention of going out of an evening then that is not a problem. Nice bar near bar (could be part of a hotel) next to the lake, nice to sit there of an evening looking over the lake (I cant remember its name) Overall a nice hotel that I would recommend.More
What a fantastic hotel, everything about the lagotel is fabulous, we stayed as a family in September and had a wonderful time. The rooms are brilliant, we stayed in the apartment's and to be honest they are spotless and have all you need including a huge balcony. food is first class and plenty of choice. staff are well trained and very nice at all times. now the entertainment may not be for everyone but we loved it , was great for the kids and was good laugh. including a big bingo payout every night. We arrived back to our apartment one evening to find a huge and I mean huge complementary fruit basket left in our room. what a lovely suprise this was.we loved the resort and beach just beautiful. We enjoyed lagotel so much we will be returning in June for a special anniversary, don't be put of by a few bad reviews, lagotel is fantastic, More
