Good -a few bad points though
I've just returned from a 7 day stay here with my friend (all inclusive) There are fair few good points and a few bad but overall we had a great holiday!! Good points: - hotel itself is very clean and maintained to a high standard. Maid service was good but they do come in without knocking! - pools - there are 2 big pool areas with 3 pools in each. They all vary in depth so there is something for everyone. The pool across the road was a lot quieter than the main pool area. I was sceptical about the sun bed situation after reading various reviews. We didn't struggle once for a sunbed and would come down to the pool any time between 9am and 2pm. There was plenty of room for everyone. - food was good for an all inclusive. Plenty of choice and different dishes to try every day. Some of our favourites were mussels, langoustines, garlic chicken, veal, stir fry, risotto, chorizo etc. There was show cooking most nights too. Not very many vegetables but something for everyone unless you are particularly fussy! Easily one of the best buffets I've been to for All inclusive! - rooms and bathrooms were spacious with a balcony too! Plenty of fresh towels. -entertainment - the entertainment could be a bit hit and miss, but it's obvious the entertainment team work incredibly hard. We particularly enjoyed the bingo, and some of the outside acts. I found some parts of the entertainment unsuitable for children such as the Broadway show (moulin rouge dancing with not many clothes and a sex scene reenacted under a sheet!). There was an outside parrot show that came in, it was clear that the birds didn't want to be there and were very unsettled which seemed very harsh on the birds. The Elvis impersonator was very good, as were the rock show. A few of the entertainment made it very clear during the evening entertainment that they didn't want to be there which was a bit unprofessional. - location - there was a shuttle bus to the beach every half an hour, however it was only a 10 minute walk (for a very slow walker). We ventured into Alcudia a few days, only â¬1.55 on the bus or around â¬10 in a taxi. We went for dinner in Alcudia on the seafront which was lovely. Next to the beach in playa de muros, there is an evening market which is lovely. We brought some great souvenirs. Bad points: (please note these were only minor bad points - worth mentioning but didn't really impact our holiday) -lifts - the lifts could be temperamental and we spoke to a few people who had got stuck in them during the week. - late check out - we paid (when booking) for late check out as our flight wasn't until midnight. We were informed we would need to move to another room on the day of our departure which seemed unnecessary. The room we moved to was disgusting - clearly hadn't been cleaned in a while. The toilet was covered in excrement and the walls of the shower caked in mould. Such a shame as our other room was immaculate. - drinks - we paid for all inclusive and during the day you could only get beer, wine or sangria (until 7pm) alcohol wise. This was annoying for someone like me who doesn't drink wine or beer. -thompson rep - if you are thinking of travelling with thompson, I would reconsider and maybe think about booking with the hotel directly. Our rep was rude, our coach was 40 mins late (which meant we were cutting it fine to get to our flight on time). We tried to get directions from her on how to get to Alcudia and she was as useful as a mud guard on a tortoise! We ended up speaking to the friendly receptionist who gave us better directions, maps and bus times. -mosquitos - the hotel is located on the most beautiful lake, so there is a fair few mosquitos around. Nothing that the hotel could do about it, but worth mentioning so you can get some insect repellant before you go! So there you have it! A wonderful holiday with great staff. A few minor bad points, but as I mentioned, nothing that was major for us. We will be returning! More
Family holiday in september
Went here for family holiday in September for a week. Hotel was very clean with a good range of food....although food was never really hot. Rooms were cleaned every other day but bedding only got changed once during the visit and they were the most uncomfortable beds ever. If you are a family I would recommend going over to the Breezer Pool rather than the main pool, much more relaxed and no fighting for the beds. Hotel was about a 15 minute stroll to the beach and the town which was nice change if you wanted to get out of the hotel. Only main downside to the holiday is the amount of mosquitoes there was...I have been quite a few places but never been bit so much, they were everywhere. The kids had mosquitoes wrist bands on which seemed to work better but we tried everything from sprays, candles and even the stuff the locals used but didn't get rid of them. This is the main thing that would stop me going back.More
The lagotel is a great place to stay,we have been to the lagotel 8 times over the last 12 years and can say we have never had a bad holiday, the staff are very friendly and helpful the food and drinks are great. We stay in the self catering apartments and they are very clean and comfortable and have sat tv 2 ring cooker, fridge we just book bed and breakfast as there are lots of restaurants you go to, and they have shuttle bus that you can take down the beach, there is something for everyone and music can be loud at times there is live entertainment every night its good for the kids to as the staff put a lot of effort in. the pools are very good and clean and spacious but can get busy this is only a 3 star hotel but for what you get you would think it was a 4 star, and the walls are thin and you do hear the kids at times it is what it is the only thing that lets it down is the mossies, all in all I will be going back again I think it is good value and clean and there is lots to do and see.More

Basic, basic, basic!
Visited Lagotel for a 4 day holiday with my partner, wish I'd stayed home. Everything about this holiday screams budget and basic! Let's start with the food, a 'buffet' style system is in place however if you don't like fries, chicken or fish you're going to be hungry! Haven't seen a vegetable all week! The rooms - Basic, nothing about them stands out and boy are they noisy you are woken regularly by the people above or to the side of you. If you had a family you wouldn't have room to swing a kitten nevermind a cat! The room we were in was situated near the stage so if you wanted an early night forget it, you're kept awake by the horrendous acts and then the fellow travellers that want to party into the wee hours. The 'entertainment' - I've seen better at Butlins is good for a laugh though! The 'entertainment team' - Had we brought our children I'd be massively disappointed especially after seeing how fantastic the entertainments team at the holiday villages are. So in summery, would I come back? Nope not if you paid for my place! Spend a little bit more and go to a holiday village - You won't be disappointed! More
