What a great holiday we had at Sandy beach. Where to start? Ok location perfect only a couple minutes to the beach in one direction & a few minutes to the Yumbo centre in the other. Food is fantastic never got bored. Breakfast good selection of eggs bacon omelette to order, cold meats cheese & pastries even had cava for making a Buck's Fizz Lunch was very good loads of choice remember to only order your drinks from the waiter with the handheld machine, the others only bring the drinks Dinner excellent, different theme every night so the selection was superb. Thought I would get bored of the one restaurant as we used to having a selection but didn't Staff are very friendly & no one expects a tip. Sun lounger situation, if you want to be by the pool in the same position every day then queue up from 8.15 if not then get beds on the sun terrace at anytime like we did. So no need for the sun lounger dash Rooms are very nice we were 6th floor with a direct pool view, the balcony in the evening had full sun Plenty of UK channels on the tv bbc itv etc Massive powerful shower Walk in dressing room was good too. All in we had a fabulous time & met some lovely people Definitely would return in fact we are already pricing it for next year as there is still more to see & do in the area Playa del Ingles, Maspalomas & Meloneres Easy 5 ðMore

Just returned back to UK after staying at the Sandy Beach. On arrival we were greeted warmly , and while our bags were taken to our rooms by Herbert, we were offered a nice glass of chilled sparkling wine . Our rooms were on the second level , 244- 245 and we're perfect, even some cold meats and fruit brought to the room. . Nice spacious washroom with walk in Shower. ample size walk in wardrobe , spacious living /bedroom with all the usual amenities , TV, kettle , fridge in walk in wardrobe. There was a extensive choice of food , Hot and cold, at Breakfast, afternoon lunch, and Evening meals, Which were Country themed . The quality and variations were very good . Poolside bar service was exceptional with a Happy Attentive staff , special mention here to Sr Sanchez. Allocation of sunbeds is an acceptable situation at this hotel? queue until 8.45am then ...... Run. Rooms were cleaned daily , entertainment staff did a good job, but please if somebody from Sandy Beach reads this , get a decent PA system around the pool, as when there is an announcement regarding the next activity, only people around the Poolside bar can hear , and those are on the far side rely on the staff member shouting the next activity as he walks back round. Overall a lovely hotel with the vast majority of staff willing to give you a smile and a hello Now the BUT part of the review. 1. There is in some instances , by senior staff members to assume that when you arrive in the restaurant, there is an assumption that your are German . Very insulting in my eyes, as I would expect a Spanish approach to all guests. 2. Would love to go back next year , but for some unexplained reason the cost has risen by over £600 over the price we paid this time. So unfortunately this is the one and only visit to Seaside Sandy Beach. This is one off the Best hotels in have visited, it just needs to fine tune the above. . More
A very nice place to stay
First time in Gran Canaria. Sandy Beach hotel was a nice place to stay. Staff very helpful. Food was good. Hotel was spotlessly clean. Only downside were the "smoking area" in the restaurant. People allowed to smoke too near to the buffet area. Our room did not have a balcony we had a garden on the ground floor. Would go to Sandy Beach again. The beach was fantastic.More
Stayed a week with First Choice. A very friendly welcome to start. The room was large and clean also a great view of the pool. The food was excellent and the staff could not do enough for you.Service at the pool bar was a little bit slow as our friends the Germans seem to get served first! But a small tip helped a great deal. Entertainment not too bad for holiday hotels. The huge beach is only 200 metres away and great for walking, especially the nudist beach!!!!! This is a hotel I would be pleased to go back too. Thank you Sandy Beach for a Great hol.More
