As the name suggests, this place is right by the beach. It’s also got a rather stylish pool.

fantastic hotel

just returned from this hotel after staying there the first 2 weeks in on the 8th floor looking over the spotless and so is the rest of the hotel ,they are always cleaning even the garden lights by the restaurant outside, the food is out of this world, steaks and ommlettes cooked to your much choice.the staff are so friendly and work really hard to make your stay enjoyable.we went all inclusive which i suggest you do as the drinks will cost you and the food at lunchtime is on a seperate menu for non all inclusive or half board, even though we went out every day after breakfast got back to the hotel to have a snack was a treat.waffles by the pool are delicious with selection of deposit box available for a small charge and fridge in the room.this hotel does cater for a lot of german visitors but still able to get a chair by the pool which again is lovely and clean.location is perfect.7 minutes walk to the yumbo centre where also you will find a taxi rank and bus stop.beach 8 minutes walk away from back of hotel entrance.many people we spoke to have stayed at this hotel more than once due to its location and cleanliness.and food.would highly reccomend this hotel cannot find one fault with it so 10 out of 10More

Great break

I have just returned from a short weeks break from here and really enjoyed it. To put my review in context, I have lived all over the world, including Hong Kong, Australia and Canada so have experienced a lot of different standards and I have travelled to many other countries. I enjoyed my stay here (i have only been to Gran Canaria once before) as the location is good, the hotel is nice and the service is good. My trip specifically? I arrived at about 4pm glass of Cava immediately brought to me while checking in the lovely lady on reception asked me where my wife and child were (I am divorced) and I said I was on my own and she checked and my bill was reduced by 500 Euros - result. Room - my room was great - ok set up for 3 people but spare bed removed quickly. 2 single but large beds were fine. separate dressing area and big bathroom with walk in shower - excellent.I had requested a high floor - I not only got 7th flloor but also pool view - so also excellent. Had a great fruit basket in the room on arrival - very welcome! Restaurant - Overall good. First day great prawns - but never saw them again I suspect catch of the day..... For dinner always roast pork, beef or chicken or cold meats plus salads etc - so no lack of choice and perfectly cooked (beef was pink inside and very tender) Breakfast - plenty to choose from - For me not so good - bacon was very strong taste, scrambled egg no taste but I could have waited and get it cooked for me - but I am not that patient! :-) Lunch - although I was all inclusive I ate out at lunch by choice so cannot comment. Bars - Very good. I see a lot of reviews that the Staff prefer to serve Germans first - I saw none of that I suspect it is because Germans shout first and generally the Staff German is better than English! I would like to thank Narieda (apologies if spelt wrong) for looking after me, Florido, Pilli and Kian for stepping in when Narieda was on her lunch and weekend! Service was good - if you are relaxed and not in a rush. For me if you treat the Staff well, learn their names and remember to say your please and thank you's they will look after you. Also don't wait to tip at the end of the holiday - remember these people don't earn that much (as far as I know) so any little helps them to remember you. Sunbeds - Ok stereotypical but yes sunbeds are 'bagged' when the pool is open at 8.45am - for me this is towards their end of season so I suspect worse height of season. You can't beat it so join them! I had no problem getting a sunbed ok not right next to the pool but close enough on the terrace. People - I am 40 but most here are older. Higher proportion of Germans, but also some great people from Luxembourg, Belgium, France and England - so if you speak a little French as well you will you can meet some great people. Same as always treat others as you would like to be treated - cultural difference sure but if you understand that it is fine..... Area - Good location. Ok not on the beach as the name suggests but learn the back entrance which is not signposted so go through the restaurant to the back and there is a lift which you need you room key for (slightly temperamental for reading the card) and it is a 5 min walk to the beach.I had lunch and a couple of massages down by the beach which were very nice. Yes there are Africans trying to sell you watches/sunglasses etc but just keep walking and they move on. Kasbah / Jumbo - Close by but cant comment as not for me. Overall - good holiday great hotel yes would say here again.More

Great Holiday

This was our 8th holiday here. We travelled as an extended family of 7, and booked 3 pool view rooms for 14 nights, 23rd August - 6th September. We were on the 8th floor, my sister could not book a pool view for 3 adults so she upgraded at a cost of 7 Euros per person per night, (294 Euros). We arrived and were given a drink of cava/champagne to enjoy whilst we were checking in. The porter took our luggage to our rooms. My son and daughter's room had already been newly decorated with new furniture but ours had not, room 823. Although as soon as we checked out, we noticed the old furniture being removed and new furniture going in. However there was nothing wrong with the furniture in our room, and I think it was only a few years old. The beds were extremely comfortable and we all slept well. My children also enjoyed watching the football in their room on Sky Sports, whilst I tried to keep up with the soaps! The food and drink is excellent as always. The breakfast are very good with plenty of variety, personally I enjoy a cooked breakfast, and a glass of cava. The lunches are plentiful, and also have show cooking, and burgers, or hotdog or pizza. There is a huge choice of food at the evening meal, with show cooking, carvery, plus all of the prepared dishes. The desserts are delicious! The variety of drinks included in the all inclusive is extensive, and includes cocktails. It was our sons first holiday in Gran Canaria, he really enjoyed it and the flaming sambucca!! It was his birthday whilst on holiday and Christian made him a special cocktail. It was also our 29th wedding anniversary during our stay. We also ordered picnics when we went out for the day. They had a ham and cheese sandwich, 2 yoghurts, a bottle of water and lots of fruit. The staff were always extremely helpful and made sure that we had a table for 7 during mealtimes. They all remembered us from our previous holidays. A lot of the holiday makers also return every year. Don't take a towel you can hire them for a 10 Euro deposit per towel. There is a good wifi signal all around the hotel. The safe costs 2 Euros per day. There are plenty of sun loungers, and we did notice that they also had some new parasoles. We would like to say thank you to all of the staff for making our holiday enjoyable, especailly Romano we are already planning to come back next year in March for our birthdays (2 of us) and in August (6 of us) for our 30th Wedding Anniversary. Hopefully we will see Eva on our next holidays, because we did miss her!More

Excellent Hotel

Stayed from 31st August 2014 for 10 days on All Inclusive holiday with my wife. The hotel is centrally located in a built up area of the resort but a lot better location than some we saw. First impressions were very good, spotlessly clean, great welcome with a glass of bubbly, room ready at once, porterage for bags and staff very friendly. Room was on the seventh floor and came with robes and slippers, separate dressing and wardrobe area and a lovely big shower room. Balcony overlooked the superb pool and garden area. Plenty of terracing and sunbeds available, pool bar service excellent. Real treat was the dining, a great selection of hot and cold at all meal times and if you didn't fancy those, there was always a selection of roast meats carved from the joint and 2 grills where Chefs will cook you fish or a steak in front of you. Best we've had in many a hotel we've stayed in for a long while. Lots of people were on their repeat visits and the staff remembered them, which was a nice touch. Evening music from resident trio was great and cabaret at 10pm every night varied from excellent mainly, to average only once. Can't compliment the service enough, again best we've had in a long while and staff so cheerful. This is definitely four star all the way and they arranged flowers for our anniversary and provided us with a lovely free bottle of bubbly and a plate of fresh fruit and a card from the hotel. I felt if there was anything we wanted, we only had to ask. Paco behind the lounge bar is great, remembering your drinks and always friendly. All the staff were good, though. Made this a really good holiday for usl Reccomend trips out on the local bus to Las Palmas and Puerto Mogan, which is lovely.More

Excellent hotel

Stayed at Sandy beach from 25th Aug to 8th Sept, I was really impressed with this hotel. The staff. from management down to the cleaners are lovely and anything you ask they go out of their way to see to for you. Food is divine, drinks excellent. . I know I have used the word excellent a few times but this is how I felt about the place. We had a late flight back to the uk 11.55pm with check out being at noon We asked if we could keep out room a bit longer. we were told it would be fine to keep the room until 9pm, which was when we were getting picked up from the hotel for the return journey home. there was no fee for keeping the room it was free of charge. the A/I stopped at 5pm but we were still allowed to go for our dinner at 6.30 free of charge. now come on where do you get such excellent service like that now a days. nowhere I have been before. will go back tomorrow. the only fault was the entertainment is very poor. but that didn't bother us as we went out on a night and called back for drinks later on.Very clean hotel. tea and coffee in rooms all you have to do is fill out a form in your room and let them know what you want. I don't have cream in my coffee so I ask for milk , which was delivered to my room and put in the fridge for me.( large carton). Sorry if I have gone on a bit, but Like I said EXCELLENT HOTEL.More
