High quality hotel close to all amenities
This hotel is above what you would expect in the Canary Islands. The rooms are spacious and all look over the pool and complex. The rooms are kept very clean. The hotel is well maintained throughout. The food is of a particular high standard and there is a very wide variety to suit all tastes. I would suggest if you plan to stay mainly in the hotel then all inclusive can be good value The bars and restaurants of Playa del ingles are a very short walk away together with the long sandy beach. If you are going to get out a lot then half board would probably be better. This hotel really is a jewel in the crown and it is obvious why it has won many travel awards. We have been twice and now booked our third visit Please note if you are travelling with children there is a section of nudist beach if you walk along to the right with the sea facing you. This was not an issue for my wife and I but may cause concern to some parents.More

Our second stay
We had such a good holiday at the Seaside Sandy Beach in November 2015 we decided to return in 2016, something we have very rarely done over the last 42 years. If anything the hotel has improved, and it was excellent in 2015. From the glass of champagne while you are checking in to the lavish buffet meals and the excellent service we are constantly spoilt. The Seaside Sandy Beach has free wi-fi in the rooms, around the pool and in all the common areas. The rooms have a/c, a fridge and safe, all free and even a complimentary small bottle of wine when you arrive and free bottles of water each day. It's just a 5 minute walk to the beach and places to shop, eat and drink and a 15 minute walk to the Yumbo (?) Centre for more shops, restaurants and evening entertainment. I highly recommend the Seaside Sandy Beach hotel in Playa del Ingles.More
Was a lovely hotel. Food was always hot and great selection. Loved eating al fresco. Drinks were good and alcohol were imported Spirits, Smirnoff etc location was spot on. Close to the beach, shops and bars. Perfect location for everything. The only downside was the hotel entertainment. Aimed mainly at the German, but was nothing special and not worth watching. Spent most evenings at the pool bar rather than at the entertainment. Overall a good hotel just the entertainment letting this hotel downMore
On Check in we were allocated the wrong room type, we had booked and paid extra for a pool view room but had been given a noisy street view one, after an hour of arguments and being made to feel like a criminal we finally got the room we paid for. This seemed to be a Thomson error not the Hotel however they could have dealt with it more professionally! Finally we got the room we booked, it was a lovely room, nice size, exceptionally clean and amazing showers. I couldn't fault the cleanliness of the hotel. We were staying on a half board basis which worked for us as we like to drink out of the hotel. The food both at dinner and breakfast is very good, there was plenty of choice and the quality of the food was some of the best I have had in this type of hotel. There seemed to be smoking allowed in all areas of the restaurant which is not pleasant. The staff in the restaurant were efficient but unfriendly to the point of almost being rude and only seemed interested in providing service to its German customers, but as this is a German owned and run hotel it was not entirely surprising. Pool was warm and clean we never had any issues getting sunbeds. Customers here seemed to be much older than other places we have stayed but provided a peaceful atmosphere. Overall my opinion of the hotel is mixed it has some great points but also some issues. I visit this area of Gran Canaria a few times a year and was hoping this would be a hotel I would return to as its location is perfect for me, sadly the issues out weigh the good points so i dont think i would stay here again.More
This 4 star hotel is nice and the staff is very friendly. .. The rooms are clean but the whole area seems to be a little old fashion. The breakfast/dining area should be renovated. .. also the pigeons everywhere are not really my cup of tea...More
