The Spring Hotel Bitacora is a family favourite thanks to its A-star location and pool scene. Plus, it’s only minutes away from the shops, bars and restaurants of Playa de las Americas.
The Spring Hotel Bitacora’s main selling point is its location – the hotel is just a 10-minute walk from the beach and only a bit further from central Playa de las Americas.
Families have it made at this hotel. A new adventure playground opened its doors in 2013, and there are two pools and a buffet restaurant.

Just returned from a second visit to this hotel and I am still amazed how good it is, we first went in Sept 2014 for two weeks and we were blown away by the service of all staff, the standard of food, cleanliness and the entertainment and so we decided to return for a weeks break from the cold weather back home. We again were amazed, our room was a superb pool view room which was cleaned everyday, the entertainment team are bonkers and very talented, they don`t stop without being too pushy, including Carlos, Pinky and Naty. The restaurant is prossibly the best we have experienced, the food is excellent with a carvery every night, we were AI and even the lunchtime menu was unbelievable, fresh fish and meet every time with loads of selection for every pallette, facilities are very good with lots to do for all ages, the childrens club is very good, there are two pools one with a waterslide and a very good poolside snack bar. The location is excellent being approx 2000 mtrs from the beech promenade which is flat and very good for early evening walks to try and work off all the lovely food on offer. The entertainment is often very good, we saw a Beetle tribute act who were excellent, we would certainly recommend this hotel and can`t wait to return as soon as we can.More
We have just returned from Las Americas after spending three wonderful weeks at the Bitacora. There is nothing negative I can say about this lovely comfortable hotel. Right from the arrival at reception. Staff without exception a delight. Lovely large room with balcony, sun facing in the morning. After great sleeps, up and down for breakfast. My favourite way to start the day! The hotel is well situated close to a lovely shopping area. Shops a short walk and then on to a long promenade. Mainly places to seat and look out at the ocean or sit and have a drink. A favourite watering hole, Paradise Restaurant. We stayed half board. Plenty to choose from and to suit most palates, any special diet could be accommodated I understand, half board which suited us well. There was the usual placing of towels on sun beds before breakfast! But it didn't seem to cause a problem. Everywhere was spotless. Sheets changed every couple of days and lovely large towels. Tea and coffee facilities would have been a nice extra. Though I do understand it is part of pool facing rooms. I think we would do this on a further visits. The entrainment is very good and being a family hotel, children are well catered for and entertained. The sister hotel, Vulcano over the road is adult only. There are plenty of comfortable chairs in the main entrance area to relax and watch world go back. You will be assured of a welcome at the Bitacora. A big thank you again to all the staff. Because I know many people read these reviews. I mentioned the lovely shops, a great chose, but don't patronise, Videosonic, on the Main Street. Sells cigarettes, iPads tablets. We were well ripped off! Watch out for Archie and Michael. That was on our last day! We may have one less holiday de cause of them.More
I have stayed at the Bitacora many times with my family and as a couple and it never fails to offer the best service. On arrival the room we were allocated was unacceptable for us and we were changed from a lower floor to 4th floor overlooking pool. The staff are all excellent and very attentive from reception, to the restaurant and bar. We were HB and you can change dinner for lunch without any hassle. Can't rate the hotel and staff highly enough.More

Just keep returning
We arrived here on 6th March for our 12th visit. On my December review I said watch this space as to whether we would return but after a few discussions it was a case of better the devil you know.... After taking a taxi from the airport we were greeted with a kiss and a shake of the hand from the reception staff that knew us of old. At the checking in we were told that reservations had overbooked and we would have to stay at the sister hotel across the road, Hotel Vulcano for one night and then for the rest of our ten night holiday we would stay at the Bitacora. My husband and I stood our ground and under no circumstances were we going to the Vulcano for one night and back to the Bitacora the day after. He said he would sleep on one of the settees in the lounge for the night if they didn't find us a room. About fifteen minutes later a room was found for us on the ground floor overlooking the kids playground. This was no problem as we are out all day anyway and only use the room to shower and sleep. The food was as always excellent, cleaning, staff in all departments were brilliant. Some of the entertainment could have been better. We have already booked again for a return in December.More
