The Hotel Bitacora is a family favourite thanks to its A-star location and pool scene. Plus, it’s only minutes away from the shops, bars and restaurants of Playa de las Americas.
The Hotel Bitacora’s main selling point is its location – the hotel is just a 10-minute walk from the beach and only a bit further from central Playa de las Americas.
Families have it made at this hotel. A new adventure playground opened its doors in 2013, and there are two pools and a buffet restaurant.

Enjoyed another excellent holiday at the Bitacora. Have been most years since 1993. Paid the extra for pool view and all inclusive and we think it is worth it. The hotel is advertised as a family hotel so if you don,t like children go to the Vulcano. I celebrated my 80th birthday while I was there and enjoyed seeing families with young children. Many of the staff have been there for some years and are always very welcoming, especially Isabel in the restaurant. We hope to be back again.More

Very nice hotel for a 4 star!!
First of all the food is excellent, plenty of choice, changes most nights and the service in the restaurant was sublime. We are used to all inclusive which this hotel does offer how ever we were travelling with parents and decided to go half board which was stil fine as the drinks in the bar weren't too pricey! The hotel location is brilliant, just outside the pool area of hotel there is a few shops where you can get most things and the PICK UP ZONE FOR MOST TRIPS IS JUST ACCROSS THE ROAD AT THE BEST TENERIFE HOTEL, a short walk round the corner is the more lively part and in the other direction is Los Christianos, there is several shopping centres dotted around by the hotel and plenty of bars and restaurants. As far as the rooms go we paid a tiny bit extra for a superior pool view room which was well worth it you get a robe and slippers chucked in aswell as some champagne and the better view, behind the hotel is abit of an eyesore so make sure you opt. For pool view. All in all a good hotel all rooms have a fair dryer and some complimentarys and shampoo and shower gel in the bathroom on the wall.........very nice staff and pool area is clean, beds are comfy inside and out and there is a courtesy room and luggage room so you can get a shower if you have a Kate departure from airport....... Very goodMore
Stayed here this time last year and just getting round to writing a review. I must say this is one of the best 4* hotels I have ever stayed in and I do quite a bit of travelling. I have just returned from Mainland Spain where I stayed in a very reputable 4* and I would not compare it to the Bitacora. I have even recommended the Bitacora to family and friends who have since contacted me to thank me as they have also found the hotel to be first class in every way. I am going back on Easter Tuesday for a week and looking fore-ward to my return visit. Would highly recommend. Elizabeth CaseyMore

On paper - and following other reviews - this looked like a great hotel so I booked 10 days in January. I was astonished to find that the hotel was still full of children even though it was in UK term time! The place was very busy and understaffed, meaning service in the bars was very slow. I've never done the 'all inclusive' thing and wont again. Only 25% of the bar menu was considered 'included' which meant most cocktails and regular familiar spirits were all charged at a supplement. The free wine in the dining room I found undrinkable - that's just personal taste of course - so I also paid extra for wine every night. The rooms are lovely (although I had to arrange a new fridge and pay for both it and the safe box) and the hotel has all the potential to be a good deal. The food was very good but the dining room had all the charm and atmosphere of the canteen in an inner-city comprehensive. If you want all-day drinking, regimented rows of loungers by the pool, screaming children and lack-lustre eating facilities be their guest! I doubt ill be again.More
