The Spring Hotel Bitacora is a family favourite thanks to its A-star location and pool scene. Plus, it’s only minutes away from the shops, bars and restaurants of Playa de las Americas.
The Spring Hotel Bitacora’s main selling point is its location – the hotel is just a 10-minute walk from the beach and only a bit further from central Playa de las Americas.
Families have it made at this hotel. A new adventure playground opened its doors in 2013, and there are two pools and a buffet restaurant.

Disappointed return visit
As usual we stayed in Tenerife for ten days during late April early booking into one of the Spring Hotels. This year it was the turn of the Bitacora and unfortunately we were unusually disappointed with a number of things at the hotel. The room we had overlooked the DUMP at the rear of the hotel (Room 445) this has been an unwelcome feature of the hotel for a number of years now. While we we there a ridiculous attitude to Sunbed reservation was in place despite the hotel stating it would remove towels if they had been placed on beds and the beds remaining unoccupied. There were guests setting alarms for 5.30am to place towels on beds how pathetic is that and then not using them until lunchtime or later. The hotel will say there are plenty of beds but you are packed in like sardines so the reason the abuse is taking place is because people want to have the beds at the end of rows so they have a little more space. We had booked the hotel on a Half Board basis as against All Inclusive and found the lunch menu in the pool bar very poor in comparison to previous years. Also it seemed to us that there were less staff than previous years. There were some positives the staff were excellent the food was ok and the environment was clean. Overall the hotel has changed its approach and its attitude and as such I am sure that we will think very seriously about returning despite being Spring customers for the last twelve years.More
Week in the sun.
As per all the other reviews is all good at this hotel. Well maintained, clean, food is great, entertainment team are fantastic with good activities during the day and enjoyable entertainment at night. This is a quiet hotel for people who want to relax, more of an older clientele who seem to return again and again. There are darts, archery pool and boules competitions for when you bore of sitting in the sun. Pity the Parasols on the bar terrace where not in use for some reason as the sun was very hot at 3 when the main bar opens.More

Loved our 4th visit!
We stayed at the hotel on the 1st May for a week all inclusive, we knew it would be quite full of older couples rather than families due to the time of year but that didn't bother us, a lot of people that come to this hotel are regulars and I can understand why. The hotel has continued to excel in it's choice of food and drinks, I was expecting to have to pay for 'branded' drinks but these were included in the all inclusive. We have stayed in many hotels in Tenerife and the Bitacora has been by far the best for food. Plenty of choice on every serving, the staff are quick at moving your empty plates etc and are always cleaning, they work with such professionalism but also are friendly and polite. The hotel bed rooms have been refurbished, nice laminate floors and new bedding, the trouble is that the bathroom has been neglected, the shower screen didn't prevent any water from going all over the new floor, it is a shame really because they must have invested quite a lot on the rooms. The hotel has also got a small 'technogym' which looks new, it has two treadmills, two bikes and a crosstrainer, the play area looks excellent for children, and the pools are clean with plenty of beds, even the older end were getting up early to reserve the beds so I dread to think what it will be like in the summer months when families arrive, I assume in the peak times the towels are taken off the beds if reserved. We will no doubt book this hotel again, we loved our stay, loved the food, the drink, some of the entertainment was dodgy but you either stay and watch it or sit in the outside area which has also been refurbished, the waiters are also polite and try to serve everyone as quickly as possible. Clean hotel, brilliant food, great pool area and fab location! Well done bitacora, thanks for having us :)More

We stayed a week at the hotel. The rooms were very big and lovely. The only issue was the shower the glass cover doesn't cover the full shower, so a lot of water splashes onto the floor. The food was really good lots of choices. The drinks were good also. You got the real stuff (Smirnoff) vodka instead of the local vodka. Would definitely recommend that you go all inclusive it was the first time we did it we will be doing it again. The hotel is situated about 5 minutes walk away from the beach and the bars and clubs. Staff are very nice and helpful. Also if your all inclusive you get wifi free throughout the hotel and pool area. The pool bar has wee snack bar which was brilliant if you only wanted a small biteMore

Hard to Beat the Bitacora
Just returned from our 6th holiday at the Bitacora, This is a very well run hotel, & has high standards in every department. Cleaniness, hygene, food quality, activities, pool areas, & entertainment all first class. The staff we met were friendly, helpful & courteous. We chose a room on a high floor, & were alloocated 821, which was large & roomy, with a balcony view stretching to Los Christanios. Was a little worried about availability of the lifts, but we never had a long wait for them. Wi fi in the large reception area was a bonus. If l had a complaint, it would be with the presence of photographers & stalls selling all types of fashion, greeting guests as they went each evening for dinner. There are plenty of retail opportunities within a short walk from the hotel. Overall we had an excellent holiday again at the Bitacora, & intend to return in the near future.More
