Good Hotel

just returned from a week staying all inclusive at the IFA catarina, went for a Birthday trip with my boyfriend, the hotel is very clean, all staff very friendly, rooms are fantastic beds comfortable, attention to detail was nice as they left us a bottle of champagne in our room on my birthday was a nice unexpected treat ... food was very nice always a good selection and very tasty dining room well equptted and staff very efficient ......... you have a room key card for each of your party and you need that to get into meals when you go in they give you a bit of paper and the wating staff write down on it what you drink at meal then it is handed in at desk on leaving dining room ... this is as not all guests are all inclusive and they have to pay for drinks but it did confuse us for the first few days maybe on check in that should be explained .... if you not all inclusive you can put cash on your key card and it can be used to buy drinks ect so is a good option .......... poolside very clean and lots of options ..... location was very good close enough to the yumbo centre for shopping in day and fab at night ..... liked the children's play area pool and club house is all in the same area and there is sun loungers near to it and could see it being good if we had took our son we will deffernatley be coming back on a family holiday ...... my advice is stay here its lovelyMore

A nice hotel! :)

Stayed for a week, just checked out today. Great location close to the beach and walking distance from Cita & Yumbo Centres. All Inclusive - a good variety of food on offer, hot and cold drinks & snacks available throughout the day. Staff were great - a credit to the hotel! :) Room cleaned every day, clean bedding, clean towels etc. Free wifi in Madisson bar & reception area. Wifi also available in all other areas of hotel for a fee - €6 per day or €29 for a week - tried to purchase for one day but couldn't for some reason, but mainly used free service anyway. Nice grounds - plenty of quiet spaces with sun longers & a good sized pool. An enjoyable & relaxing stay, look forward to returning again.More

Christopher M,

What a pleasant place to stay

We noted a few negative comments in the reviews but as most were positive we booked this hotel. It was a good decision. The staff were unfailingly courteous and helpful. The rooms were of a good standard and were clean. The food was good and the entertainment was better than I had been led to believe. I was surprised by how windy it was most days during our stay but this wasn't the hotel's fault. The hotel describes its pool as partially heated and this flatters it. I texted my daughter to say that we had the pool mostly to ourselves (it was freezing). Overall an enjoyable stay and excellent value for the price.More

Not 4* Food

If u want ur children to eat don't go here there was no kids choice for food. No kids cart so they can have a choice what to eat my son ate bread and butter for 3 days cos he wouldn't eat anything else seen chicken nuggets once but they didn't look very nice so had to go to local pizza place cos pizza in hotel had herbs on it u know how funny kids can be with stuff like that. Not child friendly wen it comes to food. Hotel clean and beautiful grounds. Swimming pool to cold to go in with kids my son was blue wen he came out. Miserable blonde woman serving ice cream in the day very abrupt try and crack a smile. Qued at the bar all the time very under staffed very pleasant staff at bar tho and the lady who asks u ur room number at dinner she was lovely. Alcoholic drinks were terrible no way can I drink 15 vodka & pineapple very watered down. Germans were very rude pushing in at ques and breakfast we are all the same so que.... Entertainment wasn't very good considering it was Xmas time. 30% extra to pay for drinks even tho all inclusive extra again then for gala dinner we wasn't told about any extra charges wen we booked in there was a piece of paper put under our door saying €30 each per adult for gala are u for real you should of gave us the same entertainment and dinner as we was all inclusive. Absolutely ridiculous. Safe to say we went out of hotel that evening. House keeping lady was fab cleaned room everyday and clean towels replaced everyday. Will not be returning to this hotel as we are food lovers and wasn't our cup of tea.More

AmyCarey,

Comfortable and Clean

Staff were friendly and the hotel was always clean. Good food but a little repetitive at times. We were there for the NYE Gala meal which was lovely. The staff went all out to make a memorable experience. Located quite centrally and very close to the sand dunes making it very good value for money. Bus takes you to main beaches regularly. Taxi rank very close and reasonable. Tip: ask for a pool view when booking with travel agent / hotel to avoid disappointment.More
