Good value, great location
We've stayed here for 6 nights from June 18 to the 23. Upon arrival, the staff were very friendly and told us to leave our luggages with them and go straight to the restaurant buffet before they close. They also gave us a free voucher for 4 hours at the spa. We would have used it, but it wasn't the spa from the hotel, but a spa in the neighbouring town. We've met a couple that used it and said it was great. The hotel also gave us free access to their wifi and, I have to admit, it was the fastest wifi we've ever had on vacation. The hotel is in a great location, just few minutes walk from the Dunes (a MUST) and plenty of restaurants and stores around the area. The hotel has a shuttle bus that would bring you to the beach, or you can also easily walk it (about 10-15 mins walk) All the local buses were also very accessible and right around the corner from the hotel. There's also a lot of car rental places around there too. The hotel has a nice swimming pool and lots green area and a small kid park. We did not spend a lot of time in the hotel but did had a swim in their pool and it was great. There's a show every night and a foam party on one of the night too. We did not attend to any of those event because there were way too many smokers and it was just unbearable. Instead, we've opened up the patio doors and enjoyed the music from our balcony. Did I also mentioned that there are no mosquito and bugs in Gran Canaria!! The room is very spacious and clean. There was a huge closet with a safe that you have to pay for the key, which we didn't get. There's also a little fridge (empty, you'll have to fill it up yourself). A rather small TV, but with one English channel with movies. I did not like their bed. It was very uncomfortable, we woke up with back pain every morning (and no, we are not that old!) I appreciate that they use biodegradable soap/shampoo. The room is lacking electric plugs, so bring a electric plug multiplier. There were also no tissue paper and face cloth in the room, so bring your own. We have book a half board package, so it is only 2 meals per day. We did not used up all our meals everyday as we were out exploring the island a lot. Food is ok, a little repetitive. You will get bored of it. I was surprise that drink weren't included in our package during the meals, NOT EVEN WATER!!! That was a bit upsetting. The hotel will charge you about 3 euro for 2 little bottles of water. Go to the corner supermarket and get yourself a 5L for 2 euro. The restaurant was big and spacious with a nice patio. However, if you want to eat in the patio, be prepare to inhale smoke and get instant lung cancer. Yes, that is how smoky it is!! Overall, we've enjoyed our stay at the hotel. A few adjustments and it would have been perfect. It was a great value. I love the location and found that it was a very convenient and safe area to stay at. The staff at the reception were very helpful when we needed directions, especially the Asian girl (sorry, i didn't get her name). Great vacation! :)More

A fantastic hotel. Great service, food, accommodation. This is the third time I have been to this hotel and will hopefully return again next year. Cannot fault it. Large restaurant with a great selection of food which never seems to run out. Great entertainment from Francois and his team. Superb rooms. All together brilliant.More
Just came back from Gran Canaria Island. The hotel goes above and beyond their duties. All staff very friendly helpful especially Daniel at the front desk. He always had a big smile on his face, loves his job and all the tourists that come to his hotel. Shopping, restaurants , beaches all lovely and nearby especially the dunes. Spectacular island, if you get the chance to visit you must stay at the Catarina Hotel. Room 112, Tina from Canada. More
Lovely hotel, very clean. Good selection of food and drinks. Very friendly staff especially in the bar by reception. Really enjoyed the selection of cocktails and ice cream. Only issue was people holding sun loungers all day. I was up early most days and most we're gone.More

Clean and cheerful
Over all the hotel was excellent, particularly value for money. The entire hotel was always kept immaculate by the cleaning and maintenance team. The selection of food available at all times was brilliant, there was something for everyone and the restaurant staff were great. It was lovely to have table service from the bar if you were sitting down however I was a bit disappointed in the all inclusive cocktail selection as there were only 3, all came out of a machine and were unrecognisable as any cocktail I have had before and truthfully were unpleasant, but that is the only thing I could suggest that would make a positive difference. The pool and garden areas are beautiful and comfortable, there are a range of places to sit and relax without having to fight for a sun lounger! More
