Awful! Not recommended!
I visited IFA Catarina in April 2016. On my arrival I was charged 14⬠for being able to use the internet in my room. On top of this I was charged another 24⬠for a safe in my room. As I never asked for this facility I questioned the need of using the safe. The fact that it was offered automatically made me think that the place is not safe at all. I was offered a room facing the pool. Accepting it was my biggest mistake! It was the noisiest hotel I've ever stayed in in my entire life! The staff starts moving chairs around the pool at 6am and they are veeeeery loud. There are parties going on until nearly 1am. Once I had to phone the reception as there was no way could sleep with such noise outside. You can hear people laugh and talk followed by noisy staff tidying up afterwards. Food is extremely average. I ended up going to restaurants towards the end of my stay as I got bored with the same stuff over and over again. The worst coffee ever. If you like your cup of coffee in the morning, you will be hugely disappointed. A typical hotel for people with low expectations. Cheap performances in the evening. Loud music during the day broken by silly comments i.e welcome to IFA Catarina ... (Really? I though I was staying at the Grand Hotel). On a positive note, the rooms are spacious and tidy. Cleaners work very hard to keep the place nice and clean. Staff generally very nice and friendly. To sum up, if you're looking for a place where you can relax, IFA Catarina is not a right choice. Too busy and too loud. Not recommended. More
good location , lovely clean hotel, nice size bedrooms, good variety of food ,staff friendly.Pool area quite small considering size of hotel.Only gripe no menu at bars etc. to let you know what you could have(or not ) on all inclusive More
Just returned after a week here, and although we had a good holiday this hotel could learn so much, which would create a better atmosphere, and a better holiday experience for all. We arrived at reception, checked in to be told both rooms were in different blocks, even though we were on the same booking! We had emailed the hotel twice before and requested this - but they told us they hadn't received it, we moved 1 of the rooms so at least we were in the same block, but 2 floors apart! 245 & 447, the rooms were nice, clean and bigger than expected with a pool view - but this has its down side, as they start to clean the pool and place the sun beds out at 6am every morning, and their not quiet! The restaurant is lovely, plenty of hot food and choice! There was many Germans & French in the hotel and they do not understand how to queue! I do think it's wrong that guys have to wear long trousers in the evening, but ladies can wear shorts or skirts! Make sure you take some, as they will not let you in without long trousers on! The staff are very friendly and helpful apart from the blond haired waitress, so rude and very ignorant as she ignored us for the whole holiday after we moved tables 1 breakfast! The IFA chain always have good entertainment, not anymore the evening acts were awful and really are a waste of money - no tribute to queen etc which you used to get before. Also Sunday there is no entertainment as its their days off, you don't even get a CD playing round the pool - which many were commenting about it being so quiet. We were told by our rep she had arranged for us to move rooms with the reception manager Josè, so we went to see him, this guy is the most rudest manager I have ever spoken too, he wasn't interested and in the end walked off from dealing with us and left us with a fellow colleague who dealt with us very well, whilst he walked off- he was on duty a couple of times, and he again totally ignored us from this point - VERY RUDE All in all this hotel isn't a 4* standard but Enrique is an excellent general manger who tries his hardest to keep the customers so happy, he has some great staff and you can really have such a laugh, just a shame the hotel needs some work doing to it, and there are some awful staff! We had a great holiday, but don't expect 4* standards here, as you will be disappointed! More

Hotel is clean. Staff are all very hard working and speak many languages. Good English speakers. Food was OK. I say this because it was very repetitive on the veal and bolognaise every night. Occasionally other things. Not many chicken dishes and the ham is processed not 'as it comes off the animal' which unfortunately is the case for a few other things. Mainly fried food and pastas always available. Fresh fruit, fish bar and a salad bar. Breakfasts are definitely missing hash browns!! The pool cafe serves sandwiches when lunch service is over. But again only tuna or cheese and ham sandwiches. I'm not a lover of tuna or processed ham- so no sandwiches for me :( my partner had tuna on two occasions and both times the bread had already turned hard in the sealed packet. The pool bar does food for a short amount of time. We only managed to catch this once due to booking excursions. It was hard garlic bread we couldn't bite into and hotdogs served with rolls that had started to go hard also. The â¬2 waffles were our saviour. But why pay? When we should have more edible food available. Anyway moving on from food... The beds! They are rock solid. The reviews are true on this one. They need changing to sprung at least. It was horrible to sleep on. That's if you could get comfy enough to even fall asleep. The sofa bed in our room was very worn and dipped in the middle. But otherwise apart from some ants in our bathroom-very clean. The pool area is beautiful. But sun lounger wars are present. Some people stick towels on and don't even return for a few hours! How selfish eh. No staff seem to be on top of this issue. Unfortunately not once were we able to get one without standing around and grabbing one once seeing someone was leaving. Same goes for seating in the evening during entertainment. Found ourselves standing on multiple occasions. As not enough seats for guests. Entertainment is OK but not very gripping and a little mediocre at times. Just background at best. The bar is good. Plenty selection but would benefit from an extra member of staff on shift- day and night. They are run ragged and always wearing a smile. Had fun. But won't return as previous feedback re beds hasn't been followed up and we are always going to want a comfortable bed where we pay to stay. Room 209 More
First hols this year
Never been to this Hotel before and were very impressed the food was good with a great choice at all meal times we were fully inclusive. Rooms were cleaned daily and beds and towels changed regularly. The downside is the location it's not for the faint hearted the beach is quite away over the dunes. The shuttle bus takes you into Playa De Ingles every hour stops at 5;30 But overall we had a good time More
