Club Bahamas

This place gets full marks for location – with a sandy beach and the best of Playa d’en Bossa’s bars and clubs on tap.

This hotel had a makeover for 2014 – and it comes with a great postcode, too. You’re right on a sandy beach, and 10 minutes’ walk gets you to the centre of town with plenty of shops, bars, clubs and restaurants. Plus, you're right next door to some of Ibiza's best music venues.

This place has a big pool with a bar on the side. Food is taken care of at the buffet restaurant and snack bar, while relaxation comes courtesy of the spa.

Hideous, but where to begin?

Upon arrival we were disappointed with our 'pool view' room on the ground floor. We were unable to see the pool, the back door had a button which barely locked & was easily opened by our 3 yr old, mould in the bathroom, broken tiles, dark & generally damp (despite not having suffered flooding in the recent storm). We were re-roomed the following day to one higher on the other side, looking out over the scrubland/sea/hard rock hotel/bins. Whilst the new room wasn't damp or mouldy, it was dirty throughout our stay, mostly the floors, but also bins weren't emptied daily, bath wasn't cleaned nor were the work tops. All inclusive - decent ice creams & lollies were not included. A la carte - this restaurant was most definitely not a la carte, still self service as in the main restaurant, less choice, poor table service for drinks, cold sausages & congealed pasta. Wifi - pretty poor throughout the hotel, slightly better in the foyer, but still not amazing. The floors throughout need a proper clean, outside they are sticky from spilt drinks not mopped up, inside they also need cleaning, big chunks of glass on the floor weren't exactly good when staying with children. Around the pool area there was an almost constant stench of drains, which I am sure could have been easily resolved. During our last couple of days, we overheard & spoke to a few people who had been or were still unwell, possibly from the food, but couldn't narrow it down to anything specific. We found the food in the main restaurant to be ok,the same salad bits daily, but the mains were changed slightly. For the price we paid,we were seriously underwhelmed & disappointed. Having stayed at all inclusives all over the world, this has to be the worst. Nobody we spoke to had been impressed or would return & neither would we. Having booked through First Choice, we will be extremely keen to see how they base their 'Platinum' collection - this most definitely isn't.More

Good holiday-entertainment could be improved

Check in on arrival quick and sandwitches provided @ 00.30 hrs Room very clean Hotel location good near to bars and space night club for nights. Local bars in playa den bossa are expensive for drinks 9 euros for a small coca cola and a small bottle of hiniken. Beech front very nice although the beech is not owned by the hotel and a sun bed¶sol will cost 18euros each and get more expensive towards town. Better to take a towl to sit on. Food varity good, although on day 6 we believe some under cooked salmon made us both sick. The entertainment. On some nights they had a singers on from 21.30 to 22.30 only when you can stay and drink in the bar or go in town. On 2 nights there was a film on....pesonally i do not come on holiday to watch tele. A disco would improve things greatly until 23.30 or midnight. Daytime entertainment often away from pool area...would better to have more activities around the pool area On the whole a good holiday..back to the uk tonight to let our stomachs recoverMore

Arrived to complimentary cocktails which was lovely! The room was beautiful and so clean. We had a pool view and the sun was still shining on our balcony at 8pm. The poolside bar has anything you would need and waiters come around the sun loungers with plates of fresh fruit for the bathers. The food was nice and the snack bar is amazing (if you miss breakfast ;) ) The weather was scorching as well. The nightlife in Playa D'en Bossa wasn't the best as we arrived a couple of weeks before peak season (early may) so it was very quiet, however we paid for a taxi to take us into San Antonio - the hotel arranged this for us and if there's a few of you going it really isn't that much (60 euro's if i remeber rightly) San Antonio is well worth a visit - We watched the sunset from the Mint Lounge (amazing) and visited Cafe Del Mar etc Further up from the sea side bars is a street full of cheaper ones (12 euros will get you a pint of cocktal, 2 shots and 2 vodka's with mixer!!!) Average price for a drink in Playa D'en Bossa was 10 euros but we fully expected that. All in all I would say this place is best for family and couples who are looking for a quiet holiday anywhere up until the end of May. During peak season this is an idea hotel to stay at for party go-ers, especially since its right next door to Urushaiia.More

Laurie M,

Great holiday, ignore the bad reviewss

We went as a group of 5 and after reading some of the reviews, I was a little concerned , but as soon as we got at the hotel those fears went quickly away. We had 1 triple and a twin room, the triple had a two twin beds plus a sofa bed. We had to makeup the sofa bed, but no big deal, took a few mins! We were on the first floor and after reading reviews were lucky we did, as there was a big storm during the week and people on the ground floor got flooded. i think the island has been hit with some freakish poor weather, but they need to sort out drainage or barriers asap. Room was a deckent size for 3 adults,, with plenty of storage space. Shower is salt water, so dont shower with your mouthh open!! Maid service was good and rooms cleaned near enough every day, if you wanted extra towels was no problem at all...just be polite to the staff and they will be good to you..simple tip, but some guests tend to forget this. Meals were very good breakfast, dinner and lunch had a great varierty of food and we are all catered for, perhaps got a bit samey towards the end, but didnt stop us eating! Also was a snack bar from 10'till 6 great if you miss breakfast or lunch. Drinks are local sprits and beer which is normal, if you wanted preminum, then if all inclusive it was half price, but tbh the locall stuff was fine and i didnt see too many people complaining. Hotel was right on the beach which was ideal and playas beach is excellent! location wise was fantastic, right next to hard rock and ushaiua hotels and space club is 5 mins up the road, if you want to be close but out of the way of the crazyness, than the location is perfect. Its a 10 min walk up the street to the bars and resturants, plus if you want to go exploring, then the public transport is excellent, even at 3am, we could get a disco bus, to san antonio and back, with the bus stop right outside our hotel! In closing im struggling to find why some people rated this hotel low, but remember that is the minority, i would have no hesitation staying here again if i came back to playa de'n bossa. Staff very friendly and happy to help plus we had a late flight and for a small charge we kept our room till around 7pm.More

Andy J,

Great staff and enjoyable holiday

Arrival, 15 minutes travel from airport after dropping off at two other hotels. Staff meet and greet with a glass of sparkling wine or orange juice. Easy fast check in with everything explained to us. Rooms, Can get a bit noisy with early morning revellers returning but no problem once they get into their rooms. We had an upper room facing one of the Palladium Hotels and over looking car parks. I did return to reception to see if we could have a pool view but was told it would be an extra 15 euro per night even though one of our party were allocated a pool room on arrival and hadn't paid any extra. No problem though. Spacious and clean bedroom and en suite with decent sized flat screen TV on the wall opposite bed. Cleaned every day by pleasant staff who helped us with any requests. Air conditioning was fast and reliable. Filtered salt water showers but that didn't bother us, One problem was that our door kept jamming on the frame making a terrible noise on opening or closing (needless to say I couldn't sneak in after a late drink when the missus was asleep) Food, How any one can complain about the food in this hotel amazes me. Breakfast, lunch & Dinner were always a delight. We were a party of five and not one of us could find any fault. Thank you very much to the Chef & his staff. There is lager, red, rose & white wine on tap coffee machines, tea making facilities and fruit juice machine. Bars, Always served by pleasant staff who were always willing to help you out with a new cocktail etc. Only problem can be if the weather is bad then the inside, main bar can get long queues and seating can be hard to find. The pool side bar is always full but served quickly and pleasantly. Pool bar closes at 18.00 and main inside bar opens at 18.00 - 24.00. Only local branded drinks but that's about the norm. Down falls witnessed. We had some torrential rain a couple of nights and witnessed people bailing out in some of the ground floor rooms. Another couple told us of a leaking roof. Entertainment for rainy nights could be introduced. Even a bit of music in the main bar would liven it up a bit. No late snacks in the evening after the restaurant closes. Other all inclusive hotels we have stayed at have some kind of self made late snacks available. Overall, We personally couldn't fault the hotel and it's great staff, definitely not a Platinum hotel but you get what you pay for and we had a a great all inclusive holiday for a decent price. THOMSON get your act together. Some of us were left waiting for our transfer back to the airport after the coach left 10 minutes before it was meant to depart, not knowing how many passengers he was meant to pick up.More
