Don’t be fooled by this hotel’s sleepy setting – it still has plenty going on.
This hotel is in a really quiet spot, on the edge of Protaras. There’s a beach on the doorstep, and it’s a few minutes’ drive – or half an hour’s walk – to bars and restaurants.
All you need lies within the hotel’s borders. The pool is big, there’s a choice of restaurants, and the 3 bars range from quiet to lively. Entertainment-wise, there’s everything from tennis and squash to karaoke and cabaret.

We were delighted with our holiday at The Golden Beach Hotel. Sandwiches and water for tea or coffee in our room on arrival. The hotel is very clean and our room comfortable, had a problem with electrics but this was soon put right. The views from the hotel are fantastic, plenty of sunbeds which we found we didn't have to rush for. A wide range of food was provided for breakfast, lunch and evening meals, snacks provided throughout if needed and a variety of drinks. The restaurants where you have your meals have some beautiful views. The entertainment provided during the evening meal was very enjoyable with a variety of songs played and sang. Staff were very polite and attentive. Evening entertainment was provided we really enjoyed the shows put on by the animation team. They work very hard entertaining the children and adults during the day and evening. We were delighted with the high level of service and helpfulness of all the staff at the hotel. The reception staff, catering staff, bar staff and the animation team they all worked hard to make our stay enjoyable. Thank you all for a great time.More
I am a solo traveler who booked this as a last minute holiday for a week and the Hotel well exceeded my expectations from the minute I set foot in the reception area. The Hotel was spotless throughout and the staff were so extremely friendly and couldnât do enough for you. I have never smelt such clean towels which were changed daily both in the rooms and for the beach. The Hotel was set in stunning grounds overlooking a small beach with 2 beautiful churches within the grounds. The rooms were well kept and had modern TVs and coffee and tea making facilities and again were cleaned daily. The food was plentiful and varied and the staff worked tirelessly in the heat but with genuine smiles and greetings constantly. On top of this you were serenaded nightly during your meal by a lovely local man called Andy. The entertainments team were young and full of energy and the evening pianist was an inspiration to all who listened to him. All the staff praised their Manager and were happy in their work which is a credit to the Manager and how the Hotel was run so efficiently. I would return for definite and recommend this to anyone be it solo, couples, groups or families. Everyone was welcomed and everyone was catered for. THANK YOUMore
Hotel and staff were excellent, food was good, location excellent. Only complaint - amount of children allowed to run riot especially at meal times; we knew it was family hotel but they took over! Our first room was situated over kitchens, but after a word with reception we were changed to another room the next day without any fuss. All in all a lovely hotel, but we will not be returning unless we could be guaranteed at least one hour per evening where we could eat our evening meal in peace!More
Just come back from 10 nights in this fabulous hotel, dont know where to start: Arrived early hours of the morning, about 45 minute trip from airport and there were plates of sandwiches and salad in the room. Air con is free and works well, not too noisy, large comfortable beds with extra pillows and great black-out curtains. We were in room 208 which had a side view of the sea and harbour.Very clean, nice bathroom, cleaners came every day. If you need clean towels, just leave the dirty ones in the bath and they will be changed. Blue beach towels can be exchanged when dirty, in the spa.Fast check in and receptionist was friendly and efficient. SUN BEDS- never a problem , always free up until lunch time, we went down usually around 8 am and could have our pick around the pool, but the beds on the beach terrace are taken much earlier. Please note, that the beds on the terrace are free but the ones on the beach have to be paid for. MEALS- best all inclusive food I have ever had with loads of choice, fresh fish, meat, sea food salads, different vegetables, potatoes, too much to mention. Lovely desserts unfortunately(put 5 lbs on in 10 days!!!!). There are 2 Maitre Ds who show you to a table every meal time and they are soooo charming, friendly and helpful. You can help yourself to drinks in the dining rooms but they will bring your drinks if you ask them. Theres also a singer to keep you entertained at dinner.Watch out for the water melon thieves> No kidding the Russians pile up slice after slice on their plates, and then leave it, or else they pile their plates so high with fruit and take it with them.Caused much hilarity among the English guests. DRINKS- never had to wait to be served at the bars, waiters, bar staff, all very friendly and helpful. You have to pay extra for smoothies, imported alcohol as usual in AI hotels. Bottled water has to be paid for but there are free water dispensers jotted around. ENTERTAINMENT- this team are fantastic, especially Atilla and Suzanne, who encouraged my two teenagers to dance and get involved, something which no other team has been able to do in the past 5/6 years, so a massive thank you to Atilla for that.We dont usually join in the games etc but did this year and absolutely loved it, even dancing at the disco most evenings, in fact, the team made us so welcome, we never went out in the evenings, and the piano player in the lounge bar is phenomenal.Atilla organises a volleyball match on the beach every day with the locals and it is worth going to watch it as its great fun with a lot of banter even though there are multi nationals playing!!!!Evening entertainment varied with paid artists some nights but we preferred the events that the team put on. There are lots more Russians than any other nationality but honestly, we had no problems whatsoever with them, we played games with them and they are not the bad mannered monsters people seem to think they are, just holidaymakers like us wanting a good time. The pool never got busy while we were there but the beach is busier especially after 5pm when the locals come after work, but this makes it even better. Water sports on the beach are not expensive,5 euros each for kayaking,I think it was 10 Es for banana boat and the lady who runs it is lovely. We went on a boat trip which was for 3 hours and which we booked through the hotel cost us 12Es each but you can pay as little as 5 euros if you go to the harbour and book it yourself.Well worth the money. Also did the 3 hour red bus tour but didnt really enjoy it, far too hot to sit upstairs on the open top so we had to sit downstairs and then we couldnt really hear what the chap was saying and missed quite a bit. SHOPPING Wasnt too impressed with the shops in Protaras and they were no cheaper than the hotel shop or the supermarket across the road, wher we got a one litre bottle of smirnoff vodka for E9-95!!!! Bus into Protaras is 1.5Es each and a taxi is 10Es The weather was almost unbearably hot, but hey, its July so we knew what we were getting before we went. Worst thing about the holiday was the outbound flight- full of young adults going to Ayia Nappa, they had already had a fair bit to drink before boarding and got louder and more boisterous as the flight progressed but the Jet 2 flight attendants were able to keep them in check by refusing to serve them more than 2 drinks each and stopped them from drinking their own alcohol, but the language was pretty bad and there were children and old people in the vicinity . Last time we fly to Cyprus(or Ibiza) on a weekend flight One criticism I can make about the hotel is that the public toilets are not very user friendly as they are in the basement so a good walk away from the entertainment area which can be a problem if you are a lady of a certain age who has had children!!!!!(And there were a few of us). The best thing about this holiday has been the people we met-ALL the staff and the new friends we made- Bern, Margaret, Debbie, Abi,Nathan and the legend that is NEIL. What a great character. Think the hotel should use him in their promotional literature. Don't hesitate to book this hotel you will not be dissappointedMore
We have just returned from the Golden Coast. The hotel is very clean in all areas, the rooms are of a good size cleaned and towels changed daily if you put them in the bath. We were AI the food is of average but you can always find something nice to eat. The drinks are good and the staff are very helpful and friendly, also the Animation team work hard too. The hotel is catered very well for families. We went as a couple and enjoyed our stay. We love Cyprus....More
