Amazing holiday

Stayed here with husband and 2 girls - 6 and 2. Stayed in block 2 on the ground floor which was perfect although we had the kids in our bed as we weren't comfortable with them sleeping on the sofa beds in the lounge right next to the door. Beds are ok but very creaky! We bought a big water for the room which was 2 euros and kept it in the fridge in the apartment. Apartments are slightly dated but does the job. Nice powerful showers and a bath for the kids. Our block was right beside the kids splash park where we spent most of our time. There were always sun beds available. The kids loved it! My 6 year old loved going to the kids club every afternoon which is right by the kids splash pool. Kids have to be over 3. Entertainment is abit zzzzz but the kids enjoyed it. Good selection of drinks, soft and alcoholic. Meal times were great. Buffet style food and slightly different every night. Kids enjoyed the food. Breakfast was equally as nice with a big selection. All staff are very friendly. Overall great holiday and we would love to come back. More

Rachaeljoanne,

11 nights

Enjoyed our stay here for11 nights with our 2 year old very much , all facilities were good , the children's pool was lovely, food excellent and never boring, the only thing was it is a little far from the main beaches to walk the beach out the front is a bit scrubby nice in the evening to just sit and take in the beautiful view, there is a bus stop right outside, but as i say its not right near a beach you could spend all day on and nip back to hotel, all in all though a nice hotel with a relaxed atmosphere and great food More

Lmdnewport,

lovely family holiday, shame the animation team let it down.

We stayed 6th august for 2 weeks. 3 adults and 2 children aged 4 and 6. This is a lovely hotel and we found all the hotel staff extremely friendly and helpful. You normally get one or two grumpy staff on holiday but not at this hotel. Customer service seems to be very important at this hotel. Special thanks to Carmen in the restaurant who made our little boys birthday special. Also thank you to the hotel manager who saw our 6yr old fall over and bang his head on the day it rained, nice of him to come over and make sure he was ok. I was worried about the food after reading previous reviews but I'm happy to report the food is excellent and varied. Yes the breakfast buffet generally stays the same but so what I just mixed up what I had on different days. Lunches were lovely and I really enjoyed the salad bar. We had some great evening meals and I loved trying the different paellas. Puddings were great also. Drinks were OK but for a first choice premier hotel I thought they could have been better quality. I am surprised this is sold as a premier hotel as it doesn't offer the extras other premier hotels do. Like I say though still a great hotel. Swimming pools were fab something for everyone. Areas kept clean. Life guard excellent and very friendly. We would set up camp round the main pool where we spent most of our day then visit the splash park for a change of scene. We found our rooms perfect. Lots of space and spotlessly clean. We were block 4 and had a nice view of the main pool and sea. The noise from the entertainment didn't bother us, our boys would still fall asleep OK. Now my only negative...... The animation team! They were the worst I've ever experienced. Very amateur and un professional. Andre seemed to only be interested in himself and norvadi didn't seem to have a clue what he was doing most of the time! He couldn't even keep score of the games he was running. They didnt seem interested in engaging with the children. During our stay we heard lots of people moaning about how poor and un organised they were. The mini disco which my boys have loved on previous holidays was in my opinion a shambles. It didn't keep my boys interest, too much talking in between songs or watching the staff gasping for breath before they could start another song. Never witnessed this with other animation teams. Charging for pencils for the quiz was a surprise! I also found it strange that after the mini disco there was an activity just for adults and kids were told not to join in so we would be left for an hour until the show started at 10. I think an activity for the children would be a good idea this would also reduce all the running round. We still had a great holiday and met some lovely families. Would definitely consider going back and would just hope for better animation team. We met a family who stayed in 2012 and they said the animation were great that year so I guess they employ different ones each year.More

Truthful Review

Great holiday end of July 2014. Two adults a 9 year old and 16 year old. The hotel is lovely. The food great ..... buffet style. Same daily snacks and lunch but that was fine for us. Entertainment is not fantastic but ok for small children. Lots of entertainment in the day... aqua aerobics. mini golf water polo etc which our 9 year old enjoyed. Our 16 year old was ok after buying wi fi! But not much for teenagers to do. Our room (block 5l was ok. No water or mini bar provided although there was a fridge in our room. You can buy bottled water. The hotel is clean and the pool area spotless. Catch the bus in to puerto pollensa..... its easy and cheap. We went to the local beach and tried paddle boarding which was good fun. This is not a premier hotel though as you have to hire beach towels...safety deposit box in room is available at a charge. No mini bar in room. Rooms are not cleaned daily and no welcome drink on arrival. Luggage is not carried to your room for you and if on the top floor with no lift its hard going!!, Also we arrived late at night and had to find our room in the dark without assistance.... just a few niggles. overall a great holiday and friendly hotel.More

Excellent family holiday!

We have just returned from a weeks holiday at the Club del Sol and have no complaints with any part of our time spent there. We stayed in a studio apartment in block 2 which was the ideal location for us- not too far from all the facilities. It was kept very clean and the towels were changed when needed. It also had everything we needed to make up and sterilise bottles for our 4 month old baby. Our 4 year old daughter loved the splash pool and we never had a problem getting a sunbed at any time of the day. ALL the staff were friendly and very helpful and always smiling! The kids club reps were very enthusiastic and made our daughter feel welcome, making her want to return even for the parties on an evening which were worth paying a few extra euros for. The entertainment seems to be ideal, the mini disco is great but we didn't see any shows due to going to bed! (the music never kept us awake!!) The food was excellent, lots of choice and very nicely presented! We always found a table and never queued for long. As for using plastic cups, surely that is common sense- the main bar allowed glasses inside on a night. I would much rather drink from a plastic cup than have my child cut her feet on broken glass! The Rep gave us lots of information and there was always someone there to answer questions including the reception staff who were very good at English. Yes there is a walk to the main town but we chose to catch a bus which cost 1.55 euros and came every 15 minutes directly outside the hotel. Puerto Pollensa is a lovely place with lots of bars and shops and nice beaches. We are already planning a return trip when our baby is older. * An ideal family hotel!*More
