Great value, relaxing family holiday

We stayed here in July 2015(two teenage sons and frazzled parents in dire need of a holiday) and were delighted with our choice. The rooms although slightly dated were spacious and immaculately clean. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The pools were great and the food was fantastic with a wide range of choice to suit all our tastes. The bars were well staffed and service was quick and efficient. We loved the location and walked several times to Puerto Pollensa which is only a 10 to 15 min stroll away and well worth the walk. I can honestly say that I could find no fault with the holiday-totally relaxing- would definitely recommend itMore

Good Hotel, but let down slightly but almost expected it...

My family (18 of us) stayed here the last week of season. We cannot fault the staff, reception, bar and cleaning staff as they were all very friendly and could not be anymore accommodating. The reps were brilliant all week considering they were entertaining dwindling numbers as people left and no one else arrived. The staging for the shows is a bit dated but served its purpose. The lounge bar is not big enough if fully booked but there is an overflow with some seating outside on the narrow patio (about 10 tables of 4) Everything has a cost/deposit/hire charge but nothing that breaks the bank. The towel hire is a good idea for around the pool but hold onto them or lose your deposit. You have to pay 6 euros for WIFI and only allowed 2 devices to be logged on per room which in this day and age is not enough. I would have been happier to pay more to have them all attached to the WIFI. The 'arcade' is fully of crappy machines and need updating but the games room and gym were good. The food is mediocre if not weird some times, but we kind of felt they were 'using up' their food cupboards. A lot of it was deep fried from the sitting before and considering we paid up to Sunday 1st Nov for all inclusive on the 31st the restaurant didn't even open for lunch. The external parts of the resort were impeccable and well looked after, however internally in the rooms we all felt they needed a little bit of an update. Also the sofas in the living room double up as the children's beds which is not practical as the maid makes the beds up so you kind of don't want to site on them during the day. You can walk into town (Porte De Pollensa) or jump on a bus which is roughly 1.60euro each. However, taking all this into consideration it was a great holiday and the weather was kind for us but I am not sure whether I would want to fight over a seat in the dining area when the resort is fully booked during the summer.More

Joanne B,

Great family holiday...

First time we'd stayed in an aparthotel and to be fair the rooms were basic but had everything you needed, they were cleaned regularly and the cleaning staff were really helpful. The facilities were very good, the main pool and kids splash pool in particular and were used daily by my boys 5 & 3...the staff around the pool / bar area were very friendly and always had an 'ola' for the boys. We stayed all-inclusive and, as with any AI hotel, the food, whilst decent quality, did get a bit repetitive after a while. The entertainment teams were fantastic, especially the girls in kids club...the boys had a blast there and joined in many of the activities outside of kids club too. Evening entertainment was good with a mixture of acts across the week. On the whole I would highly recommend this hotel for a family holiday and would definitely return.More

Not a Premier Hotel ...... but the staff were excellent!

We recently returned from a week here, last week of the season in fact....... & it showed! There was a large family group of us & for that I am grateful, we would not have enjoyed this hotel without them. The Thompson Reps were all fantastic & made such a effort with all the activities. I would like to echo my fellow holiday makers & sing the praises of all the staff, bar, reception, maids & restuarant. Everyone was friendly, helpful & eager to please. I have stayed at several premier resorts, & this does not match up in any way. The rooms were dated & damp...I understand that we were there late in the year. Our air-con had a leak, which dripped onto the floor outside the bathroom, so we had to leave a towel on the floor. The bath towels were so thin & old that I doubt if they could be used to dry anything. All the beds are singles, which is odd! You also had to pay for the crazy golf (deposit), I doubt if anyone on holiday would steal a cheap putter & take it home ??? Also a deposit for the beach towels, but you weren't allowed to change them everyday? The childrens splash pool was a bonus & they enjoyed the change of scenery. The food was recycled regularly, & loads of deep fried things ! The breakfast was standard & totally acceptable. We decided to eat out on the last night, in fear that we would be served lunchtimes leftovers ! I would not return to this resort, but would happily visit Majorca again.More

Quiet and clean hotel, friendly, helpful staff.

It's not the prettiest hotel, not four star and maybe the location is not the most picturesque, but the setting is quiet and safe for the kids. Set back from the main road between Pollenca and Alcudia it looks out over the sea, but there is no beach, you have to walk about 1k into Port de Pollenca for that. Buses arrive pretty frequently, seven days a week, that can take you in to either town or further afield. We used them a few times to get in to both towns and taxis home, as the buses stopped after 10pm (taxis aren't much more expensive). All staff were excellent at all times, friendly, engaging and helpful. The rooms are split over different blocks, ours was towards the back of the hotel behind the bar and outside show area. The room was spotless, slightly dated but had plenty of room and didn't suffer from noise from either outside or other rooms. Breakfast in the main dining room, didn't change in the 11 days we were there, but it was ok, typical buffet breakfast fare, I didn't expect anything else. You can have snacks at the poolside bar at lunchtime, it's mainly pizzas, burgers, chips and that type of thing, it's OK once in a while, but I'd suggest popping back in to the main dining room for far more variety, salads, soups, full meals, fruit and deserts. Evening meals were varied and plentiful, there was always a fish choice or two. Spanish deserts are uniformly dreadful and the Club del Sol was no exception to the rule! Bars are open all day so you can fill your boots with whatever you enjoy, and it's probably a good job to get you through the evening entertainment which is amazingly bad. This is no reflection of the entertainment staff who were always extremely positive, charming and fantastic with the kids. They are working with a non-existent budget and really do their best. The question you should ask is do you go on holiday for the evening entertainment? If you do, then I suggest you re-assess your values. The main pool is clean, there are plenty of beds, but they do get taken up pretty quickly. There is a quieter pool which was nice, but does leave a small walk if you want a drink from the bar as there isn't one there. There is also a small children's play pool round the back. Rooms have a safety deposit box, it worked. There is a gym, free of charge, just get the key from reception, doesn't open until 9 am but it's OK for a bit of cardio when the guilt kicks in from over indulgence.More
