Best holiday I've had so far!!!
Brilliant, staff couldn't do enough to help you very friendly from just teaching you a bit of Spanish to sitting having a drink with you after work, food was good there was stuff like burgers, chips etc etc and different bits for people who want to try something new there was always food from 8:30am till 00:00, place was very clean myself and my fella didn't have our room cleaned because we wasn't getting up till 2pm some days but they always knocked and asked gave us fresh towels etc evening entertainment was good for children and adults big thumbs up, the beach isn't far from the hotel at all big thumbs up!!! If you are going some time soon you will love it!! Just one little thing we didn't get to the hotel till 2:30pm as a suggestion to the hotel we said maybe a bottle of water in the room or something to snack on as there was no time to get food at the air port as we needed to get on the coach so very hungry and gagging for a drink there are vending machine so we didn't die :P just would have been a nice touch ...... HAPPY HOLIDAY!!!!! More
Have just returned from the most fantastic holiday and cannot think of anything negative to say other than I didn't want to come home! All the staff are very friendly and helpful, bar staff the best ever and the entertainment did a brilliant job considering there are only two of them and they worked none stop. The room we occupied was near the quiet pool and great if you wanted to get away from the busier areas, although I don't think any area of this hotel would disappoint. Kim, the first choice Rep was particularly good as well and was very professional in her role. Food was excellent , plenty of choice and service fantastic. This was my first visit to this hotel and I will definately be going back, hopefully next year. Thank you club del sol!More

I said 3/5 and Hubby rated 4/5
Travelled with a 18 month old and 3 year old. Personally, I would say visit Viva Can Picfort instead due to the brilliant splash pool, rooms, grounds and location which is a premier hotel. The staff here are very friendly, and we both thought the food in the restaurant was very good. Snack bar food limited and not covered. Enjoyed pools opposite block 6. We stayed in a select room with a garden. Please note the garden rooms do not have a gate, the patio to garden is reached by a steep concrete step - dangerous for little ones and the hedge is not parallel to the patio and is also a hazard. We had mold on both the bedroom and hall ceiling (which was cleaned shortly after I reported it). The room needs updating and the main bedroom was opposite parking/the road entrance to the hotel and the walls are thin. Shower brilliant but shower door pointless. The small arcade had at least 3 games out of order one night and there is little choice for children to play on. Hire towels are awful and I was disappointed that the room was not cleaned every day. The restaurant opens at 6.30pm but the children's section at 7pm. The mini disco starts at 8pm with the limited professional shows some nights at 10pm, very disappointing when my son wanted to see the snake/reptile show. Location - 20 mins walk to beach or 45 to harbour. 11 euros to Alcudia in taxi. Bus a handful when drivers ask for buggy to be collapsed and often busy at times when we wanted to use them. Recommend glass bottom ferry from harbour to Formentor beach, children free and adults 12 euro return. I appreciate that there are a lot of 5/5 reviews but this is my opinion and a truthful one at that.More
Gets Better Each Time
This was our 5th time at CDS and have to say we could definitely go back next week if we could. So sad to leave yesterday as it's seems like a second home especially seeing Tony, Xisco & Alex again. Reviewed this hotel before but just to confirm a few things: Pros: Staff. Having stayed in 5 star hotels in Vegas & New York, CDS staff literally are the best (Tony, Xisco, Alex, Marga, Wellington & the entertainment staff) go all out to help you no matter what. Also great to see the same faces year after year. Food: The choice was varied and as we are not fans of the typical English affair of chips, beans, nuggets etc, the choice of meat and fish each day was brilliant. They even made us a packed lunch to take to the beach with us, so this was a good treat. Hotel; Clean throughout and looked amazing. Yeah you could say the rooms need a bit of updating but we're not there to spend 7 days in our room so I could overlook that, Bus stop right outside driveway which only costs 1.50 euros to the Port. Cons: Entertainment: Unfortunately the first time we visited CDS, the entertainment was brilliant. The First Choice reps did everything but sadly now it's manned by CDS staff who try they're best but sometimes it's a bit awkward. The professional shows are all ok but being there for 2 weeks I think you'd get to see the same show again. If CDS can change the entertainment then the hotel would hardly have any complaints Thomson/First Choice reps should have more of a presence, not just for the welcome meetings. They should try coming in during the evening. No reps on the coach so as this was our 5th time we thought we'd overlook the reps and do our own thing, no need to buy their trips etc Tips: If you leave the hotel for the beach/day trip book a packed lunch at reception which gets delivered to your room. Don't pay for late check out, the hotel offers you a shower room and facilities to leave your suitcases if you're on a later flight. Don't bring towels which adds excess weight. Rent the beach towels at 1 euro per day and you can change them twice in a week. Go to a Poundland store or somewhere beforehand and pick up a small 4 plug extension lead which will help you when charging phones/tablets etc in the room as power sockets are minimal Please take the time to leave the hotel and visit the Port (20 min walk or less than 5 min bus ride and definitely take a boat trip.More
Fantastic family holiday
Recently returned from this wonderful hotel. It was our first visit but definitely won't be the last. Travelled with my husband and 7 year old grandson and all said it was the best family holiday we have had. The staff are all so friendly and helpful and because it is a fairly small complex you make friends with other holiday makers who you see every day. The food was lovely and snacks available outside of restaurant opening hours is great. The 1 bed apartments are clean and spacious and are equipped with everything you need. The pools are the cleanest I have seen and there is plenty of space for sunbathing. Never had to reserve a sunbed and there were plenty available all day. We took part in all the daytime activities which we really enjoyed. Can't wait to return.More
