New Years girls trip
Well there were things I liked and things I didn't like. You have to be up very, very early to get a good spot on the beach. By "early", we were told that some people get there around 7am. Being that I was on vacation, part of that entailed sleeping a little later than 7am. So basically we settled for wherever we were able to get a spot. However, there was an adorable little monkey I was able to take pictures with. The employees were very nice and hospitable, I especially loved the jewelry store on grounds. They were able to allow us to check out a little later since our flight left at 1am. That was a blessing. The room was great but my view was not. I had a view of an abandoned, undeveloped lot. The location was great. Had a souvenir shop, market and local restaurant directly across the street. A definite plus considering I like to eat real, local foods when in vacation and not food catering to "tourists". All in all I would return and I recommend as a place to stay. More
Accra beach hotel
The hotel is located centrally to very many restaurants. The property abuts Rockley beach on the one side and the start of a very nice board walk on the opposite side. The room was clean and tidy and all the amenities worked properly. The staff was friendly and helpful . I would recommend this hotel for all these reasons.More
Nice beachfront hotel in Barbados
This hotel is used by our cruise line, and also the airline flight crews. It's on the water, and has a nice beach as well as a beautiful pool. There are rooms of different sizes, the most desirable of which face the sea, and they are priced accordingly. There is a poolside restaurant which has an okay menu. The lobby is quite inviting. Downsides: when we arrived no rooms were ready and we waited many hours to be checked in. People were languishing all over the lobby. It turned out that all the dryers conked out simultaneously and housekeeping could not ready any rooms. Many of the guest rooms need reprinting. We also found some of the staff to be fairly unresponsive -- behind the front desk, for instance, and in the restaurant. It's a good thing we had much better experiences on our second day in Barbados. We had a great taxi driver whom we hired over and over. And we serendipitously discovered a great restaurant besides.More
Great Resort / Perfect Location
We spent a very enjoyable week at the Accra in October 2016. The Accra is a perfect moderate sized resort on beautiful Rockley Beach. Room accommodations were modest, clean and comfortable. Our balcony overlooked the front parking lot and main road but honestly it didn't detract from our stay as we didn't spend much time in the room and the double sliders kept out any noise. The staff cannot say enough nice things about them and commend the resort's management for having such a pleasant customer facing staff who truly seem to enjoy working there. We really enjoyed the resort. A really nice beach with plenty of chairs (the days loungers weren't open someone quickly brought us two) and a gentle surf most days. Having food and drinks served on the beach was quite nice, the same menu at the pool which was also very convenient. Food overall was very good. Buffet breakfast was always good and enjoyed the theme night dinners. Loved the big pool. One side was shallow for kids and sunbathing and the other bigger side had the swim up pool bar and grotto waterfall. We had a rental car so the resort was just the right size for us. Good amenities the days we stayed in a the resort and perfect location when heading out to explore the amazin island of Barbados. Hats off to the Accra Hotel. Would highly recommend and visit again. Thanks for the nice stay!More
Very slow check in
Took over 3 hours to check in. Finally had to complain to manager to get a room. It was after 5 pm before we could get a room - even making a fuss. The hotel is nice but the front desk was probably the worst ever. They even lied to us once. The room was a 7 out o 10 at most and we had double beds instead of the king sized I ordered. Will not be staying there again.More
