The Protur Palmeras Playa Hotel puts you in easy reach of Sa Coma’s sands, shops and restaurants.

It’s all about location at the Protur Palmeras Playa Hotel. Sa Coma’s sandy beach is less than 2 minutes’ walk away, and it’s about the same to the bars and restaurants in the centre of town.

Lovely relaxed break

We had 2 week break here 20/09 TO 4/10. Very poor airport transfer no rep, left to search for coach and guess if you were at your hotel, this is not the hotels fault of course but cut backs by first choice /Thomas Cooke. We were greeted by lovely helpful staff and sent to the dining room so that we did not miss lunch. We were given our key to room on 7th floor just as we had asked for, we emailed the hotel ourselves to request this. We had a birthday celebration while there and a bottle of champagne was sent to our room this was a nice touch. The rooms are lovely and maid service is brilliant, the shower was very slippy we asked for rubber mat and one was there in no time ,but we think to save time and also possible injuries why are these mats not left in the shower room ready, so if people choose not to use them then there would be no come back on the hotel as they were there for the use off {health and safety] We researched the hotel as we always do, before we went, that said do take into account the time that you are going to be there yourself example end of September no problem with sunbeds at all ,we just missed a small table to be able to put a drink on or a book but there would be no room for them at the height of the season. The entertainment team in the day had a bit of a struggle to get people to take part but did there best and were very friendly Kristoff nick named my husband White hat. The evening entertainment was fine did not go on too late but if it had you could not hear a thing when the sliding patio window was closed. The breakfast was wonderful lovely crisp bacon eggs cooked fresh and lots of choice, lunch could be taken outside or in and lots of choice. Evening meal stir fry cooked fresh and lots more choice we were their for 2 weeks and would still have had a choice of things we had not tried, how anyone can say they were given no choice is unbelievable and in that case why not have a word with the management and give them a chance to explain themselves. Only disappointment at evening dinner was the dress code or lax of it for the men. The area had a lovely walk way to stroll along. On our stay we had no trouble with the Wi fi in any part of the hotel just had to sign in most days. All in all this hotel has LOVELY staff, VERY nice clean rooms, GREAT food, GOOD entertainment.More

Not terrible, but we wouldn't return

We stayed here in May, right at the start of the season. We spent a week in a standard room on an all-inclusive basis. The rooms are quite large, but with very small and poorly equipped bathrooms. The bed isn't particularly comfortable. You have to pay for a safe and even put a deposit on a pool towel (no, seriously!). The balconies and the doors of the rooms all look directly into each other, which offers nothing in the way of privacy. There is wifi but it drops out every 5 minutes. The food was generally poor. Poorly cooked, greasy, clumsy and boring. Breakfast was very poor and the desserts all looked "bought-in" and used a lot of stablisers and emulsifiers. The pool was okay, but very cold. The hotel is nicely situated, and has 2 good beaches within a stone's throw. There is also a pharmacy right next door as well. For what we paid, it would be churlish to complain too much. But, the price does rise alarmingly in peak season and, to be honest, this hotel is just about 3 star at best. One tip: guests get discounted access to the spa at the Protur Biomar (a sister hotel) which is a 5-star hotel about 15 minutes walk away. The spa is the most impressive we've seen and I would recommend a visit. Oddly, they don't mention this at all when you check in!More

Again Sorry not for me

Just back from this hotel and have to say was a bit disappointed in the week we spent their, it was 2 weeks away from closing for the winter and it showed especially in the food it was as if the chef had looked to see what he had left and decided to just keeping the same food out ie pea soup 4 times in 7 days ,numerous reviewers have stated the dessert section was amazing granted it was just a pity that the same thought and dedication wasn't extended to the rest of the menu. Hotel was clean but was starting to show a bit of wear and tear in certain areas the settees in the bar area which are of a leather type have had the material picked/ worn off and these are the things which as the hotel claim to be a 4 star would be replaced instead of leaving them and giving the appearance that the hotel doesn't care what the appearance looks like, evening entertainment was hit & miss the 2 reps try their best Erica was the kids rep and was well liked as for the other rep if ever their was a guy you would love to throw in the pool step forward that man , rooms were large and spotless. Sa coma itself is clean with a cracking promenade and excellent beach great service in terms of buses/taxis, good break with the family as for the rating can see the potential where other guests have reviewed it maybe it was the wrong time to go More

A 'Wheelie' Great Hotel!!

This hotel is a real haven for someone in a wheelchair; it is level throughout and there are several lifts (a little small but perfectly adequate). We were welcomed very warmly at reception and were given a brilliant room on the top floor of Block A with a huge walk-in shower and loads of space - just what you need for a wheelchair. When we asked if there was any chance of a seat for the shower one arrived within 20 mins - brilliant. On the second day we asked if the twin beds could be made up as a double, this was done without hesitation, and would have cost us £54 if we'd booked a double room with First Choice. All the staff were exceptional - the best we have had at any hotel we have ever stayed at!!! We were cared for very well, and everything we needed was done for us with a smile. It takes a day or two to get into the system at dinner and we were a little unsure to start with, but once we had discovered the show cooking (especially the stir-fries) we thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Breakfasts were good and lunch at the pool bar was a nice change. There was more food at 4.00pm when cakes and tarts were brought out to the pool bar, and at 11.00pm when trays of sandwiches were brought into the bar. Sa Coma is ideal for wheelchairs as the prom stretches in both directions for a long way and is perfectly flat, and so it can be used independently very easily. The city bus linking local resorts for 1.85 euro, is wheelchair accessible - we used it twice to go to Cala Bona, and then rolled all the way back to Sa Coma with a few stops for refreshments. The entertainment is what you would expect - very mixed,:some good some not so good but nothing dreadful. A 'soft close' hinge on the poolside disabled toilet would make it much easier for someone to use independently (something wheelchair users yearn for) and could perhaps be done ready for next season. We were late leavers, and were given free use of our room for as long as we needed it as the hotel wasn't full, (25 euros if pre-booked). We have already decided that we will return to this hotel sooner rather than later.More
