Protur Palmeras Playa Hotel

The Protur Palmeras Playa Hotel puts you in easy reach of Sa Coma’s sands, shops and restaurants.

It’s all about location at the Protur Palmeras Playa Hotel. Sa Coma’s sandy beach is less than 2 minutes’ walk away, and it’s about the same to the bars and restaurants in the centre of town.

Bedrooms here are nice and modern, with white walls, blue soft furnishings and light-wood furniture. They’re nice and big, too. Outside, meanwhile, you’ve got a pool and plenty of sunbathing space.

A Week in October at Palmeras Playa Hotel - Sa Coma

We stayed All Inclusive as a family group of five adults from 24th to 31st October 2015. This was our first visit to the hotel, and it proved to be an enjoyable experience. The Reception staff were both friendly, helpful, and very experienced which made the process of checking in effortless. One of the reception staff guided us to our rooms which was a nice touch. The hotel is arranged in a “U” shape with three wings eight stories in height. The various floors are served by both lifts and stairs, and I believe all the rooms are inward facing so they overlook the central pool / outside seating area. We found the rooms to be equipped to a good standard, and our three rooms were in good condition with quite nice decor throughout. The bathrooms contained fairly large walk-in power showers, and were tiled throughout. The rooms had blackout curtains as well as back curtains fitted, and this kept out any ambient light at night. The rooms we occupied on the second floor had twin beds pushed together in a separate bedroom area, and would sleep four people per room if the divan bed was put to use in the lounge area. There was a tea / coffee making facility in each room, and a room safe can be hired at reasonable cost from reception. The hotel is situated a few minutes walk away from the beach and promenade and the later can provide a nice walk in either direction. The hotel itself was kept very clean and tidy, as were the rooms which benefited from a daily maid service. All hotel departments were performing well during our stay, and on the one occasion we needed maintenance the fault was reported in the morning and was rectified by the time we returned later in the day. We didn’t find the rooms we had too noisy, but I would suggest it would be better to get as higher room as possible during the busy summer months when the hotel is packed. The guests at the hotel were entirely from the UK while we were there, so I couldn’t comment on the balance at other times of the year. As we were staying at the hotel the week prior to it closing for the Winter, we did wonder if services, and in particular the menu would suffer as a result of shrinking numbers of guests and staff. I would guess the capacity for the hotel is around 1000 guests, and towards the end of our stay there were about 130 of us left. Can I say our fears were completely unfounded, as there was no drop in quality standards, or food range at all. When we mentioned this at reception we were told that we had paid the same as guests in the summer season, and we would get exactly the same standard and quality of service, so well done to the hotel management and staff for maintaining this level. The hotel is rated at 4 stars, and we believed that this was justified with a case for 4 stars plus in reality. The restaurant area was clean and well appointed with buffet service at all meals, including self service drinks for AI guests. The restaurant staff were friendly and professional, and due to the reduced number of guests, all meals were leisurely affairs. I will stick my neck out and say that there was always at least one suitable option for even the most discerning eater, and the menu provided about four different options for main courses, and a complete myriad of choice for desserts. The highlight of the week as far as desserts went was on Friday evening when Halloween was the theme, and the time and care that went into the food was outstanding. It became apparent to us during the week that the kitchen staff had a lot of pride in their work, and put their talents to good use. You have read a lot of positives in this report, and that’s because there were a lot of positives to write about. I am having to nit-pick to find negatives, and all I can think of is the fact the satellite televisions in the rooms lost channels in the evening. A bit annoying, but then most people don’t really go on holiday to watch tv I guess. Even though the number of guests was relatively small, there was entertainment booked each night, musical and tribute acts mainly. The animation team appeared to have a good rapport with the younger children while keeping them entertained, and from what we saw provided a well structured and organised programme of activities. All in all, I would highly recommend this hotel as a holiday destination to others, and we would certainly consider returning there in the future. Once again, congratulations to all staff for making our stay so enjoyable.More

what holidays should be like

having just returned from this hotel i cant wait for a return visit, we arrived on 13.10.15 to a rainy dull day, but that soon changed the weather was good considering it was mid october, we had 2 days of showers in the week we were there, the hotel was clean, staff were friendly, the room was spacious, clean, got everything you would need,ie, kettle hairdrier fridge etc, the tea coffee facacility was re-filled every day, the bed was really big, not the usual two beds pushed together, was comfortable, if not too comfortable, the restaurant was very well organised the food quality was good and displayed very nice, wi-fi was all day anywhere and free, only gripe we did have was the Verona italian restaurant wasnt any different from the main dining room, it was still self service and mostly the same menu as the other diners, the waiter came past our table 3 times or more and still never noticed my glass was empty, in the end we had to ask for our drinks, the self service machine was rurned off, so you could not help yourself, it didnt help that i was on diet coke, not wine like all the other people, but hey ho each to their own prefered tipple, but over all i cant find anything to complain about, only a week is not enough time we will be back again but for two weeks.More

Our Stay.

We had read other reviews so were quite hopeful of a nice holiday break. We were not disappointed. From the moment we arrived arrived at reception till we booked out. The service was first case. We have done All Inclusive many times, but this hotel is by far the best. Rooms are spacious and very clean. Food was very good with a great variety of selections at all meals. The staff were very good and attentive. We tend not to return to hotels once we have been, but we will be returning here as soon as we can.More

Fabulous hotel

We have just returned from what has been a truly fabulous week at this hotel. As others have previously mentioned the food is excellent, rooms are spacious and modern (and spotlessly clean), hotel has a full entertainment programme and great kids team, it is very close to a great beach and the hotel staff are superb. A special mention here for Miguel in the bar. We were waited on throughout our stay and we really appreciated their effort in ensuring we all had a great time. We stayed in the final week of the Summer season and met some wonderful people during our stay. Would we stay at this hotel again? Yes, definitely. Would we recommend it to others? Yes, without a moment's hesitation. Thanks to all at Protur Palmeras Playa - we had a really great time.More

Wonderful food selection.

Stayed in room 1230. Very well kept accommodation, very spacious, brilliant shower, shame about the hard mattress.Hotel fairly quiet, children back at school.Stayed all inclusive.Food above average.Sweet selection amazing also stir fries cooked to order.Entertainment each evening different some really good (Beatles) some average (Abba).Lovely place and enjoyable beach area.Pool area deprived of the sunshine most days.Tall apartments forced you to keep moving.Limited selection of cocktails on AI menu unless you paid extra each time you requested one.Never had this before? But all in all a good holiday at a reasonable cost. TonyMore
