An amazing week!
Returned from here yesterday and already looking to book again! It was our first time in Spain and I think we've been spoiled! What a beautiful hotel! The staff are so hardworking, they really are amazing. Our room was spotless daily as was the rest of the place. We stayed in a twin room in the traditional side of the hotel, it was nice and quiet as it was away from the pools & the courtyard, great for siesta time! No kettle in the room (thanks to those for the answer to my question before we went), so I took a travel one, got some milk from the shop next door, kept it in the cupboard & it stayed fresh all week. As others have said the restaurant did sometimes get very busy, understandable with the amount of people there, but there was always plenty of food available and lots of choice from Shark to Pizza!! Breakfasts were our favourite mainly because you could have an actual CUP of coffee! Coffee is available all day but in polystyrene cups from the bar. We like our coffee or tea in cups, plastic glasses for cold drinks is fine, but I wish you could have a cup..even if just in the restaurant at lunch and dinner. I understand its a safety issue, so I guess theres no way round it but next time i shall take my own travel mug! There are 4 pools (I think), we stayed round the quieter one near the courtyard, you need to take your own towel although they do sell nice ones at the shop. On Sunday we walked in San Pedro town, beautiful place. It was quiet with only the restaurants open but it was nice to have a stroll around. There is a little bit of improvement works going on in the town centre but you can still walk through. Id recommend a trip to Gibraltar, we booked with the Tui rep. Its a lovely place with great shopping and the views from the top of the rock are amazing. Just be aware that you need your passports & when coming back to Spain you have to get off the coach, walk through border control then get back on & if you've bought cigarettes (£24 for 200) you have to queue separately to give them your passport. Id also recommend the Dolphin trip, again booked with the rep, the guides are very informative and respectful of the dolphins. All in all a fabulous week with amazing sights and a beautiful place.More
Great holiday! Great hotel!
We had a great time at this hotel. One of the smallest hotels we have been too which was good as everything was central. Great for disabled people as everything was on the level and accessible. Two large swimming pools to choose from. Only downside was one was very deep. My kids got cut toes in the other pool but I discovered that this was due to friction with then constantly diving in. Not really the fault of the pool. Both pools have full time lifeguard. One in which was a big fav with all the kids as he liked too push them in the water for a laugh etc. Excellent maid service. Maids work really hard. Very friendly! Rooms cleaned every day with fresh towels. We had a problem with our air con but was fixed the next day on complaining. Food good most of the time. Although certain times of the day restraunt very crowded. Hard to get a table on occasion. Our part of the hotel had a small drinks bar. Downside was that it only opened from 12-4pm which was inconvenient. Didnt do coffee either. Full entertainment programme although no official kids club which would have been a bonus. Beware with booking through first choice/thomson. This is due to them packing people like battery hens onto the transfer buses. They also took two hours to transfer which is actually only 30 mins away from airport. It was a disgrace. Overall though we would return as the holiday was excellent value for money. We would maybe arrange a private transfer though. A lot of people we met had returned year after year to this hotel. That says a lot!More
1week stay at Cortijo Blanco
I stayed here for a week All Inclusive with my mum, Nana and 2 Aunts. We arrived on 4th June. We had read some negative reviews so had a few concerns but these were put to bed when we arrived. The hotel is spotlessly clean. The staff are in the main very friendly and the food was good. There was a different roast cooked every evening and there was always a pasta, fish and meat choice. Plenty of fresh salad, cold meats and cheeses and different breads to choose from. We stayed by the older pool which was more suited to us and we throughly enjoyed our week. The hotel is about a 2 mile walk from Puerto Banus along the shore. It's a lovely walk first thing in the morning before breakfast! Only issue we had was that the drain wasn't draining out shower but once reported to the rep it was fixed. Brilliant holiday. Annie the TUI rep was great. Will be back!More
You get what you pay for
Very nice grounds and staff but some strange rules by management ruined the experience. No glasses at all by the bar!!! Fair enough when the pool is open but who wants to drink out of cheap plastic glasses all night! Pool doesn't open till 10 and shuts at 6!!! So lots if sun bathing time missed unless you want to bake with no pool to cool down in. We asked to use an iron for 10mins and was told we had to pay €13.60!!! Oh but you get €10 back, This is just a way for management to make money! Food was so repetitive, I know you should expect this with AI but literally the same 6 dishes over and over again. So glad we were only eating here for a week! The staff were very nice including the chefs so feel bad saying negative things but don't go here for more than a week. Gardens were lovely and The Emerald Irish bar outside is a must! Sam and the staff really looked after us and made the holiday. More
It just get better!
From the minute I get to Cortejo Blanco to the minute I leave I feel at home. The warm welcome, the beautiful grounds, the family atmosphere is just lovely. I can't believe how clean everything is. The food is great, the fresh fish is amazing and my picky eater of a 6 year old always finds something delish to tuck in to. We have just returned home from our 4th year at this hotel and its just gets better. We always go in a large group and nothing is too much trouble. The restaurant is big enough for us all to eat together and the tables are cleared quickly and set up for the next round of food. The entertainment this year was probably the best yet. Nothing was too much trouble for William and his team. Our kids loved all of the entertainment team especially Daniel & Emily. They even bagged a couple of diplomas this year which they were chuffed to bits with. I think the club dance 'Bills' will be forever in my head. Thank you Cortejo Blanco...see you next year (we've already booked) :-)More
