Nubian Village

Loading

This place is designed like a traditional Egyptian village, with Moorish-style buildings spread across huge grounds. It’s got two pools – a massive lagoon one with three slides, and another near the hotel’s private beach, where you’ll find a PADI-approved dive school. Head indoors, meanwhile, and things are pretty stylish. In the lobby, a huge circular sofa scattered with cushions wraps around a star-shaped water feature. And in the bedrooms, expect warm, sandy walls and colourful rugs on the floor. Lastly, there are four restaurants here, including an Egyptian á la carte with regular belly dancing nights.

Fourth time around and it keeps getting better....

As it says in the title this was our 4th visit and the best yet! Don't get me wrong we always have an amazing time when we go away but the team that work within this resort are what make it so special.... Karim was our First Choice rep and although we never needed him, he was always available and very friendly... The reception staff were fabulous and ensured we received our requested accommodation and checked through out the whole trip that everything was good - Mr Tamer / Mr Hassan, thank you so very much : ) The restaurant's both main and the bottom pool were exceptional; the food was amazing and the master chef and his team worked tirelessly, delivering delicious meals with lots of variety. The waiters were also very attentive and friendly..... The animation Team - best we have ever met!!! They were a-mazing..... Hannah - you helped no end with our kareoke performance, lovely, lovely lady! Moka - always smiling and truly embraced that stick!! Sam - no-one plays with fire like Sam does, awesome..... Suarez - Mr Pink, no-one could wear it quite like you..... They worked really hard and always had a smile and time for all the guests - thanks guy's you were a big part of our holiday this year.... : ) Last but by no means least the bar team, you looked after us from the minute we landed until the bus picked us up.... Mohammed - you are an asset to the Nubian Team, don't ever leave Sied - OMG!! Hany - we never went without whilst at the pool..... The house keeper who looked after us was also fantastic, every day it was a pleasure going back to the room to see what he had made for us!! In a nut shell, take all reviews with a pinch of salt....evryone's opinions differ. For us though, we will continue to go back here and could not fault a thing. The staff and the team are what really makes this place special, I hope that this is recognised.... Finally Ruslana - thank you and see you at the end of the year xMore

Fantastic

My husband and I and our 16 month old daughter stayed at Nubian Village in October 2012 for 2 weeks all inclusive. This was our 4th time to Egypt but our 1st time to Nubian Village, we had always stayed at the same resort previously but decided to try something. We were a little apprehensive at first as had always had a fab time on our previous trips but given it was a new hotel to us would we still enjoy it as much. I have to say we had nothing to worry about, we actually had a better time and was sad to leave and come home. We were first given a room that could only be accessed by a big flight of stairs, we slept there the first night but asked to move and were given a ground floor room in the main block of apartments near reception. Room was spacious and clean although in need of a makeover, although I see from recent reviews that things are being taken care of in that department. Our cleaner was great, always kept our apartment clean and often left us some wonderful towel art. Food was great, I can be a bit picky but managed to find something to eat at each mealtime. I particularly loved having fresh waffles every morning!! The chefs were fab though and would often try and do you something else if you couldn't find anything. The restaurant manager was fantastic with our daughter, always dropping off fresh fruit for her at our table. To be honest all the staff were amazing with her, they always made time for her and fussed over her and always had a hello for us. That's what stands out the most, the incredible staff from the cleaners to management everyone made time for you. Pool bar staff were great, often helped bring the drinks over. Animation team were fab in particular Lena, Adam and Sam, although we didn't join in they still kept us informed of what was going on and had a laugh and joke with us. They equally fussed over our little one and Adam was a firm favourite for her! Yes there are Russians guests at this resort and yes some of them can be rude but some are actually ok, we befriended a family who had a little boy a little older than our daughter. I've come across some rude English families too so it happens regardless of the nationality!! Had an absolutely fantastic and will look to return someday.More

evi1980,

Superb!!

FANTASTIC hotel, staff and animation (especially Hannah & Danny)!! Food excellent and beautifully presented! Rachel (first choice rep) extremely helpful!! Gorgeous well-maintained grounds and rooms!! Only down-side was the RUDE, ARROGANT, IGNORANT Russians who feel that they rule the roost and quite frankly dominated the heated bottom pool, restaurant, entertainment etc!! Would go back tomorrow but need more ENGLISH to stay at this amazing hotel!!More

Lara S,

Wonderful (except for the Ruskies)

Hi, I sincerley hope this review helps you, The hotel is FANTASTIC.... The staff can not do enough to HELP YOU... Theres good food available whatever your preference.. you will never go hungry at NUBIAN...All in all its probably the best hotel ive ever stayed at.. FACT.. The only downside is the RUSSIANS... they have a really bad attitude... we had a couple of moments where i could have swung at them, but in their defence the hotel staff tried their upmost to put things right for us. There was one night in the restaurant when one guy started flashing his bread knife at me (haha) because we had been put on the end of his table due to the fact that the place was full.. he then shoved my wifes chair out of the way as he passed her... In true Brit fashion I immediately kicked off & we both left the restaurant unfed.. Was only a couple of minutes before the head chef & the hotel manager joined us in the bar to ask what had gone on (EXCELLENT SERVICE) the head chef took us personally to the fish restaurant where we shared our evening meal with him.. The food in the fish place was OUTSTANDING. The animation team are friendly and professional (Look out for Hannah- Shes great)... If you are a big reader.. you need a kindle at night.. the light in the rooms is very dim.. a small problem tho as the QUALITY of the rooms is 5* .. always cleaned to a high standard. If i could aim just one complaint at NUBIAN.. which to be honest im struggling to do.. I would ask that they stop the amount of SELLING & HASSLE at the poolside.. Its ok at 1st but after a few weeks it becomes annoying.. All in all...I really struggle to fault this hotel & will definately return next year.. Hopefully there will be less RUSSIANS !!! Enjoy guys & say "HELLO" to Tamir @ the pool bar from me.More

Outstanding holiday

I'll get the bad stuff out of the way way first, and that only is to say the Russians can be very intimidating, we experienced their rudeness first hand, and they are no good at losing (caused a fight!!!). With that said do not let anything stop you from experiencing this amazing hotel. Reception - Immaculate, beautiful, clean and staff VERY helpful. Room - Amazing, clean, stunning artwork with the towels twice a week. Albeit the bed very hard. Poolside - Clean, no problems getting beds and we are are a family of 8! Toilets poolside are also very clean. Make sure you have a "Do not disturb" sign as the sellers can become a nuisance. Entertainment - Great. Animation team - Fantastic. Kept our children entertained day and night (our children's age range is 9 to 17) - Would have loved to have brought them home with us! Food - Yes the "restaurant" can feel a little on the canteen side, but the food can only be described as outstanding. It was always fresh, tasty, plenty of it. The service staff were very welcoming and helpful, constantly cleaning tables, bringing drinks, going out of their way etc. They are very hard workers. Tip an english pound every few days - goes a LONG way. It was our wedding anniversary whilst we were on holiday so we decided to spoil ourselves with an egyptian massage. WOW! It was truly amazing in a very relaxed atmosphere. Overall experience - Whilst we had a couple of "instances" with the Russians the hotel, staff and everything about this hotel was superb. Could not fault anything here and would highly recommend to anyone thinking of staying here. Just prepare yourselves for the Russians. Cannot wait to go back.More
