Sol Aloha Puerto Hotel

This hotel has an ace up its sleeve – it’s right on the beachfront, minutes from the upscale marina.

This place and the beach make great bedfellows. If you’re in a sea-view room, you’ll be waking up to the Med. And location-wise, it’s just 3 minutes’ walk from a marina ringed with shops and bars.

Along with a cracking seafront setting, the large pool, the bowling green and the late-night bars keep guests coming back here.

Great location with great views

Stayed one week in August and had a really enjoyable time. Rooms are a good size with daily maid service, clean towels if needed daily. We stayed on the 7th floor which had a fantastic view of the beach front. We only opted for Breakfast at the hotel and the choice was very good, this time of year you can sit outside undercover. There are many good restaurants nearby and we choose to eat out rather than use the hotel. Reception/ Lounge area is spacious and entertainment every evening. Plenty for kids to do with daily things going on round the pool. Our kids which are 11 really enjoyed the pools although both pools which are big are very deep, they could only just about touch the bottom at the shallow end. Hotel staff were very friendly and spoke good English. You can hire a fridge in the room but you have to spend 21Euros on drinks which they then put in your fridge. This time of year it was worth it. Rooms were very clean, bathroom was also very clean. The sofa in the lounge converts to a 3rd/4th bed. Boys not happy about sharing but we got over that with cushions down the middle lol. Overall a really nice holiday and would visit this hotel again.More

Stayed one week at a cost 850 euros for for a twin room. The room was terrible with the fridge rusted inside and out and all furniture falling apart. The TV didnt work on our arrival and we had to report it three times before it was repaired. The food was awful and we ate out every night except. Dont stay in this hotel.More

2nd visit

I will not repeat the comments about the superb location etc. We visited this hotel last year out of high season and returned for the last week of August this year expecting long queues for food and drinks. How wrong we were. The hotel is busy but a lot of people go out to eat at night or eat very late. We never had trouble obtaining a table at any meal and were always able to select our preferred area to dine. The bar staff were efficient and we never waited long to get a drink as we are happy to go to the bar and get our own drinks. The service from all the staff in the hotel was exceptional. From the reception staff to grounds staff everyone was very pleasant. We were pleased to get a better room than we had been allocated as we were returning guests. Special mention must go to Merche in the resturant as she also provided Spanish lessons as well swift service. We always purchase a parasol from the shops on the seafront for about 15€ and we always got a sunbed either around the pool or in the gardens. We did not join the 7.30am dash for sunbeds although it was very entertaining to watch from our room each morning. One thing that let the hotel down were the public toilets, sometimes they were unusable with filth which says more about the clientele that use them. We found it easier to pop back to our room rather than use them. Everywhere else is cleaned to the highest standard. Also wifi should be better quality and free in a 4star hotel. For these reasons I feel I am unable to give full marks this year.More

Don't bother with all-inclusive

No complaints with room but don't think I should have to pay to use the fridge! Went on an all-inclusive deal which was a waste of money. Food was decent but not great. Meat mostly dry and nothing particularly warm. Complained one day that everything was cold and was pointed towards a microwave available to guests. Don't think we should have to microwave our own meals. Drinks during meals were good but outside meal times were a con. All inclusive drinks stop at midnight and after midnight when paying, there was a massive difference in the alcohol content. Entertainment at night and round pool during day was sooo loud! Getting lounger by pool impossible if you don't get up before 8 am. Great location though and would go back on a room only basis. More

Beware of rooms with private owners

We stayed in room 3410 room 3411 was owned by private Spanish owners avoid these rooms. Excellent location and sun beds away from pool overlooking promenade. Bar and lounge area refurbished modern and clean. Food was very good and actually found it better than Sensatori Sharm el Sheik More
