Sol Aloha Puerto Hotel

This hotel has an ace up its sleeve – it’s right on the beachfront, minutes from the upscale marina.

This place and the beach make great bedfellows. If you’re in a sea-view room, you’ll be waking up to the Med. And location-wise, it’s just 3 minutes’ walk from a marina ringed with shops and bars.

Along with a cracking seafront setting, the large pool, the bowling green and the late-night bars keep guests coming back here.

Should never be rated 4 star

Reception area has been upgraded but only superficial. The locks in toilet in reception do not work and I got stuck in one. They are the same as our last visit 5 years ago ( when we said we would not go back!) Plenty of choice in food but quality was not up to standard. Did not feel safe in room as balcony doors did not secure properlyMore

no reps

we got to our coach no prob plenty of thomson reps to guide you, but from there on we did not see a rep at the hotel, had no idea where they were, no welcome meeting which we found totally amazing that we were left on our own with no contact whatsoever, we did howeven find out 3 days later by another person at the hotel u have to go three hotels down from us and they are all there. No reps so if you do go to this hotel remember to ask them at the airport as thats the only time you see them. Not very impressed with thomson. Also we found sunbeds were being taken up and no-one using them till much later in the day even though you are told by the notice in your bedroom this is not allowed, so beware !!!!. They like taking your money for hiring a beach towel for 10eures but if you want to change this on a daily basis it will cost you an extra euro why!!!!! .Also they charge for hiring a safe(which is ok) but you do not get the full deposit back. After holidaying in the next resort in sept (fuengirola) there didnt seem much to do in the evenings other going to pubs which only had karoake. I think Thompson need to rethink this lack of a rep in this hotel. If you like old fashioned entertainment this was sadly evident in the evening eventhough they did try their best etc. As this was a family hotel there didnt seem to be anything going on for the younger element my niece being 15 and nothing for her age.More

Very average. Booked two junior suites, both smelled of smoke. Apart from that 1st impression of suites good, very large. But bed hard, pillows rubbish. Air con not working or fridge. Everything is extra in this hotel, to turn fridge on for 5 days you had to buy Mimi bar package 21 euros, wifi 40 euros a week. Staff all spoke English but not that friendly, in fact rude. Only booked B&B & breakfast was average, coffee terrible & orange juice watered down. Pool area nice but everyone puts towles out very early. Bar looked good on 1st impression but very loud, seemed like full of people on all inclusive deals. Booked at last min, price good but will never stay again. More

Returned 3 days ago

I've just returned after a 10 night stay with my wife and 6 year old daughter. The hotel is advertised as a family hotel , which is correct if your children are over the age of 15. I've been privileged to stay in numerous hotels around the world and have never witnessed a swimming pool as cold as the one at this hotel .. The kiddies pool is a joke and the shallowest end is 1.5 meters in the other 2 pools which by the way needs a bloody good clean. The food was as good as any hotel .... left overs made into all types of Stews ... the best one being Tuna Stew. The toilets in the public areas were a disgrace { that's if you could find one where the locks worked} I've never stayed in a hotel where you have to pay for the fridge and when I asked the pool attendant to change my towel He said I can't.. I could go on and on about the negatives , but on a positive note the position of the hotel was A1. All you hear from the hotel is next year all the rooms are being refurbished .... As a travel agent who went over with the view of sending numerous clients to stay at the hotel, unfortunately I will have to declineMore
