Sol Aloha Puerto Hotel

This hotel has an ace up its sleeve – it’s right on the beachfront, minutes from the upscale marina.

This place and the beach make great bedfellows. If you’re in a sea-view room, you’ll be waking up to the Med. And location-wise, it’s just 3 minutes’ walk from a marina ringed with shops and bars.

Along with a cracking seafront setting, the large pool, the bowling green and the late-night bars keep guests coming back here.

Great again

Visited this hotel again in early September. Great stay as always. As previously mentioned the rooms are a little old fashioned but very clean. Staff very friendly and helpful, though I think there should be more of them on reception at check out time as they are rushed off their feel and the queue can be long. Food still really good, extremely efficient restaurant staff. The hotel was extremely busy but we never had to wait for a restaurant table or drinks at the bar. Paco the reception manager and Carlos in the restaurant are very charming and helpful as is Rocio also on reception. Will be visiting again next year and look forward to the new refurbished rooms. Travelled with my 87 year old Mum and she had no problems at all. Comfy beds and pillows and everything really clean. Taxis outside all the time and a nice promenade to stroll along just out of the back gate to the beach.More

I love it here ... its my second visit to this hotel and my third to the location. It is perfect, right on the seafront and if you book the sea / marina views the outlook from your suite is amazing. And its very quiet and peaceful, there is a stream running along the side of the hotel and when you sit on your balcony in the evenings you can here the rippling water. The suites are I suppose dated in some peoples eyes but they are spotlessly clean and everything worked fine. It's nice to have a separate living area and then the bedroom and bathroom. Plenty of mirrors everywhere too ! A negative is having to buy 10 items from the minibar to get the fridge turned on and extra for the safe, but I think that is pretty standard in most hotels. I cant comment on the food as I ate out - there are a lot of cafes, bars and restaurants within easy walking distance and Benalmadena marina is a 5 - 10 minute walk away with a lot of shops and more bars etc. All in all I love it and can't wait to return next year.More

Better than we expected

After reading the reviews on here it seemed as though someone was reviewing to give this hotel a bad reputation. We were the 3rd hotel to be stopped at during the transfer so took around 20 minutes. We stayed on the 4th september til the 11th and found it was better than expected. The pictures online do not do this hotel justice as it was such a lovely hotel. The reception and lounge of the hotel was of high standard. Very clean and welcoming. The room wasn't a modernised room but you don't go on holiday to spend it in your room. We had a twin room which meant 2 single beds... they weren't comfy. We were all inclusive and unlike other reviewers, we were not left ignored because of this reason. All the staff were friendly and helpful. If you didnt have a drink they would make sure you had one. The food was of high standard, typical meats such as steak and chicken. If you book this hotel for your holiday, make sure you go All Inclusive as the breakfast is €10, lunch is €18 and the dinner was €21! Each per night! The drinks are pricey too but there was a lot included in the All Inclusive deal. We were on the 6th floor, with another hotel directly outside our window, but you could see the sea and what was going on in the street. Again, does the room really matter when on holiday? The acoustic singer from Katy Mays got on my nerves after the 4th night so i shut the windows. With the sunbeds we managed to get a bed around 10:30 and there was still plenty. Towels can be rented for €10. The hotel is situated across from the beach. Walk through a fence and your on it. From here, if you go left, you will find souvenier shops, restaurants and an arcade. If you go right, you will find more souvenir shops and restaurants. Going right will take you into Benalmadena. This is where you can go on lots of boat trips and find the Sealife centre. Annoying points: Wifi was chargeable €30 for 7 days Fridge was chargeable 10 x €2.10 drinks As an All Inclusive guest, I would have liked to see things like Wifi and a Fridge to be included. Maybe a discount provided from the holiday company... I would definitely return to this hotel and have recommended it to friends and family and I wiyld have gave 5 stars if the beds were a bit comfier. Thank you for a pleasent stay. More

Shocking rooms

Stayed here for two nights Friday and Saturday. We booked whilst already in Spain on the web a junior suite. Window was cracked and serious floor tile cracks. Looked out from the first floor to barbed wire, a security camera and trees in an empty water inlet on the side of the hotel!! We asked to be moved and were allocated a further room which we were told was more expensive (we had paid 110 GBP up until then per night). We accepted the change as it was getting late to find a broken bed, fridge that wouldn't turn on, stained and old mattress and cupboards that had been covered in peeling sticky back plastic to try and disguise rotting furniture!! The inside of the hotel is very smart after a refurb and the location and food is very good but it is not a 4star accommodation. On checkout hotel tried to charge extra for the room which I would not pay. Also go it ripped off with the wine at dinner being charged 17euros for the bottle they advertised as 12. I paid that just so we could leave!! The ibis (2star) in central Malaya at 50gbp including breakfast was immaculate. We won't return to this hotel and ever and await a response from their management still. More
