Good place, great food, very clean and beautiful resort
We went there right before the opening of second part of the hotel. We arrived to the hotel at 2 pm, We are a part of diamond club and were suppose to get a Free upgrade to the room and early check in. We were taken to our room by our amazing butler. We came into a tiny room which had a twin bed and full bed and pull out sofa with a view of a roof of a buffet. I don't care much for a view but we re traveling with two kids and we booked a double room with two queen size beds. I refused to be in this room and asked for a room we actually booked. After waiting on the room for 6 hours, while going back an forth with rep from travel smart and not being able to change and just enjoy the rest of the day we got into the room at 8 pm. We had to pay extra $300 for upgrade and were told to contact booking agency for refund. The room was spacious with Jacuzzi tub and big balcony. We have been to many resorts with kids and have never experienced such a long wait on a room which we had to pay to upgrade. Beach and pools: The hotel has small part of the beach which was nice big infinity pool and big family pool. Great slides for kids but it's kind of isolated from other activities. The little cafe is nice to get coffee or snack. There was construction of new building and there was no hot water in the resort for 5 days. It was very annoying because kids got really cold after shower. The diamond club beach was literally empty and had no people so we were too bored there and would just hang out at the pool or regular beach. You can rent kayak which is a lot of fun. Water in the ocean was very warm and beautiful a bit of sea weed but once you pass it it was absolutely gorgeous. Food was okay- not a lot of fruit, I wish we would get a bit more but buffet was a bit small for the size of the resort. Restaurants, Japanese restaurant was extremely hot and food was good. The Italian was excellent our kids would want to go there almost everyday. As a chef I would say a bit more variety of fruits and vegetables would be better. Kids shows were great, magician, circus were lots of fun. Adult shows were good too but we did not stay up late. Kids club was fun for kids to go play video games and pool entertainment and crafts. But we love company of our kids age 5 and 7 and they did not ask to go there for more than an hour or 2 a day. Spa we went for massage and it was great, each room equipped with shower so it's nice to have a shower before and after the service Diamond club- honestly we are not high maintenance and don't need a butler but it was nice to listen to our butler Ardy play guitar and sing at diamond club, which is one of not many places that had AC. Honestly I forgot our second butler's name but will update it once it comes to me. I would expect a lot of fans in lobby and in buffet but no there were none and there was no air to breath. We were expecting hurricane Matthew and everyone was scared what would happen. It was well managed were told to stay in our rooms and we would get notified if any emergency occur. Honestly it was a bit scary but they took the right measurements by getting ready for it. The room service was ordered with water and light snacks. We only got a big storm and lots of rain. So thank god it passed us. We got all of our electronic devices charged, got some cash, kids brought few games with them so luckily we just hung out in the room and napped. Overall it's a good resort and we will come back after they open a new side.More
My time at the Royalton White Sands
Loved the location, very beautiful. The staff were amazing and couldn't do enough for us. The rooms were a little tired through lack of maintenance IE: shower needed grouting, some light switches were loose and the French doors didn't lock and squeaked very loud when in use. The staff who were targeted on getting me to book an appointment to see the sales rep for investing in the VIP club we're very pressurising and it wasn't what they said it was, The guy who you ended up sitting in front of was awful and very bullish. Understand what they are aiming to do however they seriously need to look at how it was dealt with. The actual holiday overall was very nice and would stay there again without the pressure of the sales guys. More
WONDERFUL TIMES AT THE ROYALTON WHITE SANDS
We were there March 2017 and we absolutely had a ball! This is an excellent 5 star hotel and we were greeted with cold flannels and a drink, with Jevon giving his best renditions of "Take me to Jamaica" and " Rolling down the river". We went with friends and met two other couples,so we really enjoyed the restaurants, bars and entertainment in the evenings. Food was excellent wherever you went and drinks were fab in the Martini bar, with friendly and capable barstaff and branded drinks. Great cocktails here too ! The beach bar had a friendly atmosphere and the Jerk Chicken was delicious at the Chicken Hut. We all agreed that the sunloungers around the pool had seen better days but we managed to get loungers on the beach every day. This was an amazing hotel with fab bars and restaurants and there was also some variety with the Caribbean themed night and the Beach Party night. Food was always impressive and the friendly staff work hard to make you feel welcome and enjoy your holiday to the max ! I would recommend this hotel for families, friends or couples, and there were also several weddings in the two weeks we were there. These all seemed to run smoothly and there is a special Wedding Dept in the lobby to organise them. Everything was wonderful and we are saving to go again!More
Above expectations, given mixed reviews.
Ideal location, friendly attentive resort crew, great range of quality food and facilities. Booked/Stayed in a Luxury Double Room with Sea View & Balcony. The best feature of the small but adequately sized double bedroom was the large comfortable bed and pillows and adjustable reading lights. A sea view was available from the balcony. Initial disappointment experienced upon arrival. It was almost impossible to access the small bathroom due to a jammed door (dropped hinge). Also a shortage of towels and ineffective air-conditioning. These faults were promptly reported to reception and addressed by maintenance and housekeeping. (No alternative rooms were available). The rain shower was a disappointment, apparent lack of pressure, this may have been due to a loose (hanging off) fitting. No bath in this room type but good sized shower cubicle with a loose hand shower fitting (difficult to manage). The room was clean and room service all week was very good. Resort experience overall very good, excellent entertainment and hardworking crew, with, nice beach;had no problem with lounger availability, although some people did reserve with towels, these could be removed and the helpful friendly resort crew were happy to reposition loungers. Very good range of food in the main restaurant, also experienced the Jamaican and Italian restaurants which were also very good. Best time to dine in the specialty restaurants is before 19.00 to avoid a wait. Service in the Sports Bar slow at times due to apparent lack of staff compared to queuing guests. Liked the adults only infinity pool overlooking the beach. Overall a very good and safe family resortMore

Just came back from a 5 day stay. This resort was beautiful and the staff was wonderful. The food was good and the only complaint was that the service in the ala carte restaurants was very slow. The variety was good but only had a chance to eat in a few of them. The Zen was difficult to get a reservation and many people I talked to were not able to get in during a 5 day stay. The rooms are on the smaller side and really not comfortably accommodating for more than 2 people. Other than those minor inconveniences the resort was wonderful. The pools and beach were beautiful. I would definitely return.More
